Michael Field is a veteran journalist who has spent much of his career in the South Pacific as a newspaper and agency reporter for more than thirty years. His books have included Speight of Violence (Fiji's 2000 coup) and Swimming with Sharks, a collection of tales of the Pacific, The Catch on the scandal of the global and NZ fishing fleets, and of course the book Mau - Samoa’s struggle for freedom.
