This December marks the 5th anniversary since the signing of the Paris Agreement, a crucial global climate treaty.  The Pacific played a pivotal role in pushing countries to adopt robust commitments and has continued to lobby for necessary climate measures.

With COP26 negotiations cancelled this year the Pacific still wanted to make waves about key climate truths.  They have created a film series ‘Fighting for our Survival’ showcasing the emotional weight of the climate crisis, the urgency of action and the way forward.

Mia Kami is a student from Tonga currently studying law and politics at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.  She is passionate about the importance of indigenous knowledge, decolonizing the mind and climate activism.

She incorporates her passions into her music and uses her music as a platform to advocate for issues she feels are relevant to her Pacific brothers and sisters.

Mia is on the line with us right now all the way from Fiji,
