Mata'afa Keni Lesa - Fascination with telling stories led to a career in media spanning two decades,

Mata’afa Keni Lesa started his career at the Samoa Observer newspaper in 1999 as a junior reporter where he worked as a political correspondent, sports editor, news editor and then he was promoted as the Editor in May 2006. 

Mata'afa was in 2017 named the recipient of the prestigious Boerma Award by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (F.A.O.). He was the first Pacific islander to win the award. 

After a career spanning more than twenty years with the Samoa Observer Mata’afa Keni Lesa stepped down as Editor.
