Rugby history was made on Saturday night when the first ever match between the Moana Pasfika side took on the Maori All Blacks at the FMG Stadium in Hamilton.

While the result was a close fought victory to the Maori All Blacks with the final scoreline at 28-21, the enthusiastic and colourful crowd that turned up proved there’s a real appetite for the concept of a composite Pasifika side to join Super Rugby in 2022.
