Ivor Kaisami was born and raised on the island of Kioa in Fiji where he was educated. He went on to study and graduate from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelors in Agriculture - the first graduate from his island. Ivor worked for the Fiji government for over 22 years as the divisional head of the Eastern Division in Extension and Development and also a senior lecturer and HOD Crops at Fiji College of Agriculture.
He then migrated to New Zealand and graduated with a Bachelors of commerce from Lincoln University in Canterbury before being seconded to the United Nations as an Electoral Supervisor and Civic Education specialist.
Ivor is now retired and is the President of the Tuvalu Community in Manawatu. This year he will be graduating with a Masters in International Development from Massey University in Palmerston north with plans to continue to complete his PhD.
