As we continue our celebrations of Tuvalu Language Week 2020, we’re joined now by Silou Temoana & Hana Hanalele, from one of N.Z.’s fastest growing Pasifika communities - Oamaru, who now make up 20% of Oamaru’s 13,000 population, with the Tuvalu community at around 200 & growing.

Silou is a Pasifika Covid 19 Coordinator, as well as a Pasifika Employment and Training coordinator, who is currently undertaking research on the impact of COVID-19 on the Pasifika Community in Oamaru.

Hana is Waitaki District Council's first Pasifika councillor. Hana also sits on the council's health and housing committees & is President of the Oamaru Pacific Island Community Group.
