Our special guest this morning entered into politics as the member for the village of Alofi South in 2008, his father served as the first Speaker of the Niue Legislative Assembly under the leadership of Sir Robert Rex.   

Honourable Dalton Emani Makamau Tagelagi was born in Niue and spent many years living abroad in New Zealand and Australia. Dalton Tagelagi comes from Alofi South , he has been a Cabinet Minister in the Toke Talagi administration since 2014.  More recently Honorable Dalton Tagelagi was sworn into office as Niue’s Premier on the 10th of June this year.

He is also a multidisciplinary sportsman, a bronze medalist in lawn bowls, an avid golfer, a qualified rugby trainer , a father of 4 and grandfather of two.
