In Week 5 of the Talanoa Ako NCEA Series 2026, hear from Samuela Siliasau (Ako Mātātupu, Auckland), speaking in Vosa Vakaviti, as he unpack Literacy & Numeracy support for NCEA.

This episode explains the co-requisite requirement, where students must achieve 10 Literacy (Te Reo Matatini) credits and 10 Numeracy (Pāngarau) credits across Levels 1, 2, and 3.

We explore:
• What literacy and numeracy are
• How students can achieve these credits at any stage
• Structured learning in classrooms
• Expectations from Years 1–10
• How literacy and numeracy are assessed across subjects
