Dr Monique Faleafa has worked in the health sector over the past 20 years in clinical management, governance and consultancy roles. She was the founding Chief Executive of Le Va a national NGO focused on Pacific people’s wellbeing. She is a clinical psychologist and advocate for improving equity in health and social outcomes for Pacific and disadvantaged communities.
Dr Faleafa was deputy chair of the New Zealand Psychologists board for 9 years, and currently serves on two crown entities as Deputy Chair of the Health Promotion Agency, and the Health Research Council of New Zealand. In 2016, Monique was awarded as a Member of the NZ Order of Merit and a finalist in the Westpac Women of Influence awards. Dr Faleafa is now a wellbeing consultant to the government and private sector.
