The Alternative to Violence Project (abbreviated as AVP) is a training program that enables participants to deal with conflict and violence in new and creative ways.
Dr Esther Tumama Cowley-Malcolm is a Samoan health researcher and practitioner who back in 2013 at the age of 60, became the first student to graduate with a PhD from Victoria University of Wellington’s Pacific Studies programme.
Esther has been holding Alternative to Violence Project workshops in Samoa and in the Bay of Plenty. To tell us more about what AVP is all about we have Esther on line and live on our FB page feed.
