As we wrap up celebrations for Vagahau Niue Language week our next guest is one of Niue’s most famous daughters from the creative Fuemana family of Mutalau.
Dianna Fuemana is a Niuean playwright, screenplay writer, stage actress and director from New Zealand. She stormed into the New Zealand Pacific theatre sphere with her one-woman show 'Mapaki' in 1999.
Since then, she has written plays such as 'Jingle Bells', 'The Packer', 'My Mother Dreaming', 'Falemalama' and 'Birds'. She later turned to screenplay writing as well and worked on a few television shows and films.
Two years ago she was one of nine Pacific female directors who worked on the promentau feature film Vai and Dianna returned home to film in Niue. Fakaalofa Lahi Atu Dianna thank you for joining us this morning.
