His Majesty King Tupou VI officially opened a two-day National Symposium on Illicit Drugs starting today the 6th October at the Taufa’ahau Tupou IV Domestic Wharf.
The symposium aims to address the serious problems illicit drugs are having on families and local communities. Government was in the process of legislating policies to better control the high rates of drug use prior to COVID 19.

Following the official opening ceremony, stakeholders and the public will present ideas that can help inform a national response under the theme,
“Working Together for a Drug Free Tonga."
