Hour 3 - During the third hour of the Arcand and Mego show the crew talks about Drake Maye and the Patriots and the new locker room culture in New England. There seems to be a lot of players coaches in the room this season, Alex Van Pelt is known as a really nice guy, so is Mayo. Coaches are giving Maye the opportunity to do what is comfortable to him. In this hour, we unpack this and more!

Hearing Maye talk about offensive coordinator like he did was refreshing. He told Alex Van Pelt what HE liked. Drake Maye can go up to the coordinator and tell him what he could not do. It was great. He is a players coach. 
Mego: I think there is not a force to do things a certain way. It is looser, will work in the offenses favor. 
Arcand: It used to be a lot more intense. There was no freedom. People never spoke out, when they did, they got punished. Not tolerated. 
There is a group of coaches that has been told that this season will not mean anything for their careers
Mego: You are crazy if you do not think Mayo will not get another chance.

Mego: He should be good in the next game. Washington is not in as good a place as Philly. I just think that they have their plan. This is reminding me of Cam vs Mac. 
Arcand: Everyone thought Cam stinks. 
Mego: I do not know what they are doing with Drake Maye. He has been secondary to the operations that they are doing. I am 1000x more interested in watching Drake Maye than anyone else. Has he earned the starting job? I do not know
Arcand: He earned reps with the ones next week in practice for sure.

Drake Maye and Mac Jones are two very different guys. Even when we interviewed them it felt different.

You cannot fear playing the rookie QB because the O-line is bad

Mego: you can’t just not play Drake Maye out of fear, then Brissett gets injured and you are going to have to play Maye anyway. This is not a good faith competition. If Maye plays marginally better than Brissett then I still think they will rock with Jacoby. The only sign
Arcand: there has to be some kind of line. It cannot just be decided by practice reps. They are not following any kind of code for the preseason. Jerod is very transparent about this stuff. The line for me is another appearance from Maye and looks netter or as good as he looked last night. That would be it for me.
