In recent years there has been an increase of construction of data centres in the world, however there seems to be lack of diversity in the sector. Worldwide, only 19% of women hold tech-related work positions while men only hold 81%.
However, this could be an impediment to the industry as the gender gap could create a lack of future development in the creation of innovations reflecting diversity.
According to Dr Jan Mentz, Academic Dean at Belgium Campus iTversity diversity and the inclusion of women is a key way to inject sustainability in the data centre sector on the continent the world.
