According to reports, Google has warned remote workers at several units across the company to return to the office or else lose their jobs.
Google says the company’s push to get remote workers back into the office are focused on specific individual teams and do not represent a blanket policy.
Several executives and leaders have said they believe productivity increases when workers are in the office together, while others hope to increase in-person collaboration. Even some CEOs who previously praised the flexibility of remote work have backpedaled.
