Mbongeni Ngema tribute with Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, Dr Thulas Nkabinde

South African legendary playwright and musician  Mbongeni Ngema has passed away.

Ngema is best known for his award-winning works which include Sarafina and Woza Albert. He died in a head-on car accident while returning from attending a funeral in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape  province of South Africa. He was 68.

In 1981, he co-wrote the satirical play Woza Albert!, a play which imagines that the second coming of Jesus Christ takes place in South Africa.

Dr Thulas Nkabinde, composer, conductor and judge for South African Music awards. We also have Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, musician composer and bandleader of Harare.
