On the latest Off the Edge with Cam Jordan podcast, Indianapolis Colts All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner joins host Cam Jordan. Despite the Colts Week 1 loss to the Houston Texans 29-27, DeForest tells Cam why having a quarterback like Anthony Richardson has him optimistic about the team’s outlook for the season. DeForest and Cam both share why they take pride in being known as all-around dominant defensive linemen. They also discuss the significance of the record 15 Black quarterbacks who started Week 1. They also give their differing opinions on Kenrick Lamar being picked as the halftime performer at Super Bowl LIX. Lastly, in the new “Final Push” segment, Cam pays tribute to soccer legend Alex Morgan after her last professional match.
The Off the Edge with Cam Jordan podcast is a production of the NFL in partnership with iHeart Radio.

It's an interview with my dog, Theforest Buckner of the Indianapolis.
Colts, oh pro bowler. Just say tapping.
I'm super excited to sit here with my dog. We talked about consumer pro man d tackle built like a Greek God, Pro Bowler all pro you know d Forrest Buckner here.
I appreciate you tapping in, Bro.
No, I appreciate you having me on the Showy Dog.
Absolutely. Uh, you're you're what sixty six six seven sixty seven? Did I did?
I undershoot you? Yeah?
At at D Tackle Bro, Bro, I was just telling you before we hopped on, I was like, now I'm over here just watching pure the Forest Buckner highlights.
Uh.
You know, as as I'm transit, as I'm as I'm being slid down to a three technique myself, I'm like, who to watch Aaric Armstead D buck You know you talk about the Aaron Donald's but nah, Aaron Donald.
Six foot and we're going to stick with the long you know, the tolerant.
Chris Chris Jones, Yeah, Chris about.
Yeah, but Bro, he he he different.
His his package is like he wants the tackles to be like a lord, and you know he likes being tight.
In the box. Guys like you. You know what I'm saying.
You use your use the long arms, use your height, use your arm overs. I can I can vibe with that.
Stuff?
Yes, sir, No, speaking of that detact like you went off this this last week. Bro, you you had you had one and a half to start the season off. You over there, yeah, running the gun and tell me about it.
Oh no, yeah, man a r bro. I mean he's I mean, obviously know everybody knows he's physically gifted. Bro, you know what I'm saying, And he's got what it takes. He got a cannon for an arm, so you know he was able to you know.
Air it out Richardson on play action backs to throw, he slips on the turf, gets.
Up, keeps it downfield looking for Alec Pears touch d.
Sixty y yards Anthony Richardson like Pierce, that's what you're talking about in the deep game touchdown.
Why everybody was able to see it on full display. So it's been pretty cool to see man. Uh you know, he he was able to extensive places with his feet and looking downfield, and it's just fun to see.
Man.
I can't wait to you know, see him throughout the season and how much he progresses.
Yeah.
I mean we saw a little bit of him last year and then of course he went down again. We played Indianapis last year. I was all right, cool, I got a rook on board and then Gardner Minshew took over. I was like, all right, we've got film on him, you know, from Jacksonville to Philly to Indianapolis. Now he's over at Oakland. I'm like, all right, So I missed out on the on the young gun, you know, but I saw the arm talent. I mean, you know they every time you turn on the show that you see you see him throwing the sixty yard bomb off the back foot. Uh, but I didn't see. I didn't see the intermediate routes. You know what I'm saying. I didn't see the finusia of the game. You know, I didn't see the threadning.
Uh No, definitely, you know what I'm saying. He it's you know, because he can hurt you with his feet, man, you know what I mean. He's like you know some of these multi talented quarterbacks, you know what I'm saying. As a rusher, you know, you're always conscious on you know, his escape lanes and little things like that. So it's uh, it's been challenging in practice for sure, keeping them in the pocket. But it's a good it's good for us, you know what I'm saying. It get gets us ready for all those you know, you know mobile quarterbacks that we got in the league.
Which which you faced, you know what I'm saying, like, so you wouldn't have It's like it's like, do you do.
You have to change your game plan because you see it. I practice so much, you know what I'm saying, Like you go against the CJ.
Strouded.
You're right, it's really you know, just being just being conscious of your rush lanes. You know what that is. You know, you know that's all about you know what I'm saying, working for as one, Uh, you know, knowing studying the quarterbacks escape lane. You know how you escape the pocket is you know, you know when you're rushing, you know, when youre rushing from his left his mindside. He's a spinout guy. You know what I'm saying. He's a duck or whatever it is. And you're just learning you know, all his escape planes and you know I'm approaching, you know, approaching the game with it. So uh. You know, I was fortunate enough to obviously come up with one and a half you know, way to start the year. Uh not just that doesn't only go for me, you know what I was able to capable with doing. But you know my guys, you know, rushing them, doing their jobs, keeping them in the pocket.
Man, I mean, one half is no easy feat just because bro, like we played we played Texans last year, I should have had a two piece on CJ. I got came out with zero Like I went to go stack him. He jumped out, did a reverse spand round the other way.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying, Like those mobile quarterbacks, they really affect the game plan. But at the same time, you know, that's when the interior d lineman really have a chance to shine because the guy's trying to squeak through that B gap or whatever it is.
And oh yeah, they come right to you.
So appreciate you with the hot feet. I take those, bro, But I mean beyond that, you know, you figure. Uh I looked at that. I looked at the end of the game. You ended up leaving right. So how's your back doing you good?
Yeah? Yeah, I'll be straight man. Uh you know, it's so a little a little tweak here and there. I mean kind of you here, and I was able to, you know, get through it and everything. So I'm all good.
I just want to know, but are you one of those guys that like has the has a game fit pre picked out?
Are you one of those guys that you know you have You may have a you know, stylist. Do you do it yourself? Whatever it is you do, you wake up knowing which fits you're going to rock?
All right? I honestly don't, but uh, you know, I do get a couple of fits before the season. Uh. You know, I've been working the past couple of years with my guy, my guy Tom from Gentlemen's Playbook. Uh, so he's been getting me right with my suits and a couple of my casual wears. So I got a couple. I got a couple of you know things in the closet that I can go. I usually pick them out like the day before, you know that before we travel or something like that, right for.
Away game, but you know, home game, you just go to the closet like this one. Yeah Gentlemen, Gentlemen's play Gentlemen's Playbook.
Yay, yeah, right, you'll get you right, you get he gets you right.
Yeah.
I feel like I'm like a suit. I don't want to I'm gonna say kind of sore because that's the polite way. I'm like, I'm like, yo, let me see a suit from there. Let me see a suit from there. I need a suit from this guy I saw him on ig.
Let me get it.
I'll be pulling pieces.
I had to clear my closet out, man, I had to clear my closet. I this will spring cleaning. Had to bring some of them, you know, put them in the garment bag, bring them down in the basement, you know what I mean, put them on put them on ice for a little bit, and then maybe with potato next year. So yeah, it's it's I got a bunch of clues.
Hey, walking into the stadium, do you got a playlist you like to play? What kind of music do you like to listen to headed.
To the game?
You know what? Honestly, it's you know, it's you get I get there about four hours before the game, so I don't listen to anything crazy. I'm usually you know something I'll go with some old school, some soul music, you know, some old funk music. Uh maybe sometimes some reggae. It just depends on how I feel, man, you know what I mean. But something more calm.
Big reggae vibe. That's brother.
I think that's the only music I really It's sounds sort of like sacrilegious almost like that I really can't like find my in sync with like I just OK, it's too slow for me.
Like you you know my personality. No, yeah, I'm already knowing. Yeah, you know, but you know what I mean. I'm I'm I'm from the Islands, man from back on my wife. So I grew up. I grew up with that kind of music.
Okay, Okay, favorite artists.
Favorite artists. I mean it's hard, Bro, It's hard. I got a lot of them, but you know, some of them, my my reggae vibes is more you know, Uh yeah, he's one of them. Who else? I got Common Kings? You know, I like Common Kings a lot. Yeah, So.
Put me on bro, because like I'm gonna, I'm gonna take a gander two.
Yeah, I'm gonna.
I need a little bit more, some more more rage in my life. I gotta bring energy at all times. Growing up, my favorite my favorite guy was bust to Rhymes, you know what I'm saying.
Then it became mixtape away Yeah yeah, so you know, you know, you know I was, I was major vibes. I'm locked in yea.
But beyond beyond that, Bro, like so when we think about just the game in general, or did you did you did you have a chance.
To look around?
Bro?
They said it was something like a record number of uh QB starting was a record number of black QB starting.
Bro.
For Week one, we had fifteen black quarterbacks.
You think about the names like Lamar Jackson, Kyler, Murray, Brice Young, Caleb Williams, you know, Deshaun Watson, Dak Prescott, your guy Ar, Jordan Love, c J.
Stroud, Pat Mout, Like this is about fifteen of.
Them, Jacobett, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Gino Smith, Jade and Daniels. There's thirty two teams, fifteen of them. Were you know, your young young young black men out there.
Taking the field?
Did that affects you in any type of way? I saw the stat line like one day Tuesday was like, dang takeover.
No, Yes, that's that's a big time you know what I mean, especially for the culture. That's a big time. Man. I mean half of you talking about half the league, you know what I'm saying. And and just you know, as a kid when you're watching when you're watching the TV, I mean especially in you know, the black community, You're looking at the TV and you're seeing you know, you know, guys that look like you, you know, out there having success and end up playing the game that you love. I mean, you're looking at it and you're like, man, that could be me one day. And to say that we got fifteen brothers starting that quarterback you know, week one in the NFL, that's a big.
Time huge bro. I didn't even think about that. Spin is now?
You you like you could claim like sixteen low key like you got two of two.
Bro, you know what I'm saying, Like.
Representation growing up like I had, like Donovan McNabb growing up, then you idolize my you know, might.
Your way? Bro?
Like you you you had tour? Does that What does that do for like your kids? What does that do for you know? Pollination for show?
No? Yeah, no, that's that's another one, you know what I mean, Especially coming from Hawaii and where we're from, you know what I'm saying, Uh right, you know, we we got a few that they make it and stuff like that, but you know, especially at the quarterback position. You know, obviously Marcus before him getting drafted, you know, number two overall and things like that. So it's just it's just really good for the poly culture. I mean, and and football has grown so much tremendously with recruiting. You know, you got kids, you know, get a recruited to the SEC. All those big time schools are coming out to Hawaii just because of you know, some of our recent success and some of the guys been making it to the league. So it's been pretty cool to see. And uh, I mean, I'm just glad that door has opened, uh, you know, even wider, you know, for for all of our our youth back home.
In Hawaii, no doubt, I'm I'm not gonna lie to you.
When I was in high school, I got my offer from Hawaii, I was like, I'm going to go visit. Pops is like, You're not getting on a plane for six hours. We're going to check some other schools out. I was like, Yo, how do how do we get more kids to the island?
Then?
How do we get more? How do we get more kids that you even though you went to.
Oregon, how like, how do you how do you even think about trying to get kids.
To commit to Yeah, to commit to Hawaii. I mean it is tough because it was I mean, it's it's really just a sell you know what I mean. Obviously it's different. You know, it's paradise out there, so you know, you you never have bad weather, that's one thing, you know what I'm saying. And going to college out there, so uh, you know, you get you get your fix of the beaches and everything. You gotta sell them on paradise, man. But also, I mean they got they got a good culture out there, you know, at the University of Hawaii. I mean I got I had a couple of old teammates that went to school there and they loved it. And yeah, I mean that's the tough cell. But but I guess with NIL now, uh you know you can you can toss a little money there and uh, I guarantee you get some kids to go out.
There, right right. I'm just I I was just thinking. I was like, dang, I didn't even thought about it, Like, you know, I think.
About how I went to Colens, Like how could I get more kids to stay in state in state of Arizona, Like I'm sure kids like everybody wants to go to you A SU and U of A my mind, so like.
There's there's no transit from that U of h is different though, like universe.
Why you gotta you gotta take a play ride any any time you're trying to leave.
I know that's tough. I mean, trust me, I know growing up there eighteen years of my life. I mean, you know, it's you know, sometimes you'll get a little island fever for sure. I mean, you know, I always wanted to venture off. I was always the one that you know, I dream I dream big when I was young, you know, getting off the island and explore more of the country. So you know, the NFL football was that, you know, that little tool that I used, you know, kind of venture off and see different parts of the world. So it's been it's been awesome to see and I've been very blessed.
Oh different parts of the world. Where else have you been? What is your favorite destination off season travels?
Off season travel? I gotta say Mothy Coast out in Italy. Man, Italy, Yeah, in Italy.
Somebody like me would call it midly, but continue.
I mean, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta admit, man, the food, the food, the wine, all of it. Bro I'm a big you know what I'm saying. I love I love Italian food. So, I mean you can't. You can't get it any better going out there to Italy. Bro. So, I mean the food, the wine, I mean the beaches. You know what I'm saying. I mean it's yeah es, great vibes. Bro.
I keep hearing great things about a Moufi because I've done like everything but the Amalfi.
I've gone Tuscany, Florence.
That's your problem. That's problem there. You missed out some of the best parts.
Clearly from athes like who doesn't matter. I've been there, but our athetes is Greece. But Greece, Greece. Has my heart been over there?
Looking at Okay, I've never been been to Greece, so I gotta I gotta test it out.
Greek crazy.
Yeah, But also, I mean, do you talk so so Italy up there because you're you love Italian food. I'm not gonna lie you, Bro. You know, as a defensive end, I'm trying to stay skinny. I stayed the farthest thing away from pasta.
Bro. Yeah, run, I'm running way.
Well let's go from there. Let's let's say, let's let's get back to football.
Bro. So you guys end up losing to Uh, to the Houston to the Houston Texans. You know if young quarterbacks dueling out D line going crazy y'all D line, Yeah, y'all de lines and eating as a defender.
I just love watching it.
But you guys, you know for next week, what do you have to do to I can't call it a bounce back this week two, but you know, to to come out strong and get up, come out with the win.
Yeah, you know, really I mean going back to the Houston game, man, Uh it really, I mean, yeah, shout out to Houston. I mean they played a great game, you know what I'm saying. Luck I take anything away from them, but you know, looking in you know, watching the film, I mean, we just on all aspects of the game, you know, could have played better. Obviously shout ourselves in the foot a couple of times, not taking advantage of certain opportunities, and defensively, I will say in the Run Game, was we that was probably the worst game we played in the Run game, Uh, since I've been here, to be honest, one of the best one of the world. And it was really just fundamentals technique, uh and just run fits, you know what I'm saying, kind of just let that get away from us and they take advantage of the run game on us. So, uh, coming into this week, obviously, you know what we need to clean up. You know, the lineman got to get off blocks that edges in the run game. You know, have cleaner feet with our technique, and I think we'll be able to you know, obviously turn it around and you know, do better in the run game this coming week. And especially you know, going going into week two with the Packers, you know, Jordan loves down, so they're gonna have a backup in there. And you know, they got Josh Jacobs at you know, at running back, so they're probably going to look forward to you know me they running the ball more, especially trying to take advantage since we had a you know, poor day in the run game out against Houston. So we just got to be on our p's and q's, right.
I was, who's taking over there? Is that Malik Willis?
I think Willis? Yeah, they a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah, right, when you start breaking when you start breaking down film, you break down film today for the game pass, and then do you get a jump start or do you start up tomorrow?
No? Yeah, usually I usually get a good you know, jump start. I like to look at, you know, the guys, some of the guys that I'm facing, Uh, you know, the guards, a couple of guards obviously the guards the center, and I'll dabble and look at the tackles as well, and yeah, just you know, looking at how they play. You know what I'm saying, how they like to set in the past game and then tomorrow really dive into you know, obviously we break down you know, the runs and personnel and formations and stuff like that, and then obviously Thursday is more you know, third down all that kind of stuff. So but yeah, usually on the day off, I usually like getting a little head start watching the previous game for the previous week and uh, just to see the flow of the game and how they attack the defense.
So yeah, bro, I mean yeah, and I know you working all week. We talked about Wednesday run, Thursday past, Friday past. Because you're one of those few like guys that can play the run as well as they play the pass. It might be like, you know, equal, there's no like I'm just a pasture on that. There's no I'm just I do both all around. Yes, that's what makes you so dominant for such a long time. Now, you know, I got to say shout out, you know, congratulating. I think I think I should shout you off the text missional congratulations on the extension.
You know what I'm saying. I was like, yes, Sir, talked about enough.
You love to see guys get rewarded, and rightfully so, but how much better can you get? You know, once you once you hit that thirty, they'd be trying to throw that a rep count at you, like, oh man, we can't just have the entire game.
They try and throw like, oh, I just want to help you. How's that?
Like? What do you look? No, yeah, it's an adjustment for sure, you know what I'm saying. But you know they I mean, that's the one thing I love about this organization. You know, they know what I bring to the table. You know how much I you know, put into this game and you know, put in for this team. So you know they like having those conversations on rep count and little things like that. We've been talking about that since I've been here, you know, trying to get my rep count down a little bit, just for the longevity and being able to play longer. And stuff like that, and uh, you know it's it's still a work in progress. I still play majority of the game, but yes, obviously getting up there and you know, in being more seasoned, I would say, uh, you know, just gotta be a little bit more careful with certain situations all you know, get taking those plays off for sure throughout the game. But I mean, like you said, man, I play both, you know what I mean. I always looked at myself never just a run stopper or just a pass rusher. I want to be all around d lineman, you know what I mean, one of those guys, one of the few that can be dominant both, and that's been my goal with my entire career.
Absolutely. I mean them snaps of visually go take a toll because a three technique life. You catching them double teams.
I mean last season you probably led the league and snaps play with double teams.
You face a lot of them.
Yeah for that top three for sure.
That's a weird tear.
Bro like you, you could play forty to forty to fifty snaps, but it feels like a ninety snap game taking these double teams. Every time you turn around, you hit them with an inside swipe, I killed him, and a sinner's just waiting on you.
You get them with the outsides, and you're like, how did you hold for this?
Like?
How did you?
How do I get the line slide? Every time it's real and suit, it gets real and suit. That's that's my new discrepancy with this damn this damn interior.
Line like kilt.
And the guard is just and now you got the line shift. You're like, bro, why is the sinner? Why is the opposite guard here?
Or or you get the or you get the you know, the the guard kind of gives you the outside. So I'm like, okay, swim move to the be gap. Oh wait, no running backs coming through the chip be what No, didn't expect on.
Bro, running back coming through the B gap After you went on the outside. I finally got the one on one on one.
It not so fast? Yeah, all right with dang, that's hey, that's true.
That's true. We'll be right back.
All right, man, lets let's let's let's get to the fun questions then, you know, just want to know what's a bigger thrill, you know, winning the Rose Bowl or making the Pro Bowl?
I say, making your first Pro Bowl. Man Uh, that's what like, I mean, the roles. It was my first problem was actually with you who was out in Orlando? Yeah, out of Orlando. Yeah, Yeah, that was Honestly, that was probably the bigger throw just because you know, you know what I'm saying, like you always dream to be you know, that's one of your goals, you know what I'm saying, personal goals as a player. You want to be a pro bowler, you know what I'm saying, All pro, all that kind of stuff. So to accomplish that, I think that was my my third year accomplishing dead after the season that I had. I mean, you know, it just solidified you know everything for me, you know what I'm saying, all my hard work, but also just like that, I belong in this league and I can I could be dominating this league. So that was probably that was a pretty big big throw for me for sure. I mean the Rose Bold and that, don't get me wrong, was it was amazing. But yeah, I would say the Pro Bowl man not enough.
Higher stakes And that's on me. What about this All Pro or Pro Bowl?
All Pro? Really? All pro? Yeah? All pro? I mean, I know you don't get a hold, you don't get the accolades and stuff are all pro. But I mean all pro. Now you you're you know you, you're the best. You know what I'm saying, Like it's you, is you and that starting spotting, you know, at the top with somebody else with you. You know what I'm saying, Like you talk to you, I mean in the world. So but.
Writers, Yeah, see that's what I don't know if I agree, and I don't know if I disagree. But it's like if it's if it's the media that controls, it's the writers that control that.
Not gonna lie to you.
That's like saying I want to be a PFF number one, Like is it hitting that hard?
Yeah, you're right, You're right, I mean I would, but they also do the That's that's and I think, honestly, I think the new one honestly like coming from your peers strictly and like being all pro in their eyes, like that's that's big time respect for sure, you know what I mean. But I see where you're coming from though with the I see we're coming from with the with the media one though, yeah, I feel that I feel yeah.
I almost forget that this nfl p A all pro is just a new it's so new, Like what was it?
This is last year in the first year, so dang.
No yeah no, yeah, like just really looking at it like you. I mean, it's it's all your peers like voting, so I mean it's it's different, right, all right?
You can only pick one Stranger Things or Game of Thrones.
Oh Game of Thrones easy thrown easy?
Is that?
Is that? Including?
Yeah?
The spinoffs and everything. Man, I'm a Thrones I'm a Thrones guy. Like big you just know how to they know, they know how to play with all your emotions. Bro, you know what I'm saying. You don't know what to expect? Can you can?
You can I even say, who's your favorite character? Are you allowed to have a favorite character? Knowing that somewhere in that show they was going to ask who's your favorite character?
For sure? Man, they changed so much because a lot of my favorite characters right got executed. So you know what I'm saying, Like, start off with you know obviously season one, let's start. I'm like, right, big man, All of a sudden, I said, yeah, I don't even want to watch the show no more. I was like, who's the show? I don't want to watch the show no more all of a sudden, you know, you know, King King of the North. No, the wedding, I said, they played with my emotions. This is getting to this is crazy. But yeah man this yeah, I mean Game of Thrones for sure?
Right, Okay, okay, have you got into the new season yet? Like, I haven't even checked out the newest joint I was.
I was bigger getting your half drunk. I haven't even checked it out yet.
I was like, yeah, I'm gonna give it another season. A lot of yeah, I feel you got to give it another season. It's uh, it's a lot of build up, a lot of build up.
Okay, all right, that's what.
Do you remember how many points you average as a high school basketball player?
We're going in the.
Bag high school? Yeah, I don't know, close to fifteen.
I want to say, Okay, you average twelve nine and two as the hot Hawaii player of the year your senior year. You know what I'm saying.
Okay, okay, yeah, yeah and bad.
But you're a post player.
Yea yea yeah, big post. Yeah, big post. Because I was the biggest, biggest guy on the island down there, so I was like big post player. Six six.
I would say six seven to do that for you, Like, yeah, that'll carried most high schools unless unless you got one of them tackle falls types like this.
Ay too many Kevin Durance in his world, Bros, there's six elevens?
No, yeah, all right, bro?
How do you last one? How do you feel about Super Bowl being in New Orleans? I'm gonna preface that one. Kendrick Lamar is a halftime performer.
Now, Kendrick, Kendrick Lamar, I mean that's I mean, you know, he yeah, l a cat, you know what I'm saying. I mean he's been Yeah, he's a big.
L a cat.
You know what I'm saying. He Honestly, Kendrick, I always thought he was one of the best, you know, best artists. He just never gave me a whole lot of you know what I'm saying, A whole lot of whole lot more more from Kendrick.
You know what did you want? You want to you want the summer bangers? You wanted because I mean.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, you know what I mean, just over the years, I just needed more more from him. But uh, to be honest, like obviously, after the whole Drake, Kendrick Beef Beef. I mean he's not like us. Yeah, not like us has been. You know, still he might still be number one. I don't know, you know what I'm saying. That's playing everywhere all over the world, bro right, But I mean I could see, you know, I know he gonna have that place jumping for show.
I mean, look, you know being being going to Berkeley, you know what I'm saying. It was I was it felt like you know, coming from Arizona, You're you're in tune to the Cali artists. So like you know a lot of guys were early on nip and they're like Nipsey when he was young, was killing it.
For me, it was Kendrick because was giving you all the penmanship. He was giving everything that I started off like section eighty and I was like what. I was like, what is this? I was like, who is this? Young dude?
Just how you're spitting like that?
And then he would mainstream of course with with uh you know what is a good kid, Mad City, and then from there to Pip Butterfly was an ultimate classic off rip and it since then like he's just gone on, you know, like you with you hit me with with that joint with uh, you know, don't kill my vibe.
I said, yeah, he's golded for sure.
Yeah, yeah, he gonna be. Yeah, it's gonna be a great vibe for sure. You know what I mean. You know, you're gonna have some people coming out, you know, some of the other artists gonna be out there performing with them. So it's gonna be it's gonna be a tough, tough show to watch for the show, right.
It just affects me different because it's like in New Orleans, like, how do you not have Wayne, you know, the.
Masterpiece it like the Hot Boys him.
Yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, honestly, I would have thought that they would have had Wayne out there for sure.
Kevin Gates come on like you know, young boy, you know, like and then you just talk about like the country side. There's so many artists out here, just just an art method like home of of Jazz music, so many real artists out there. You know, Like this is crazy to influence that New Orleans has had on the world. We not taking a New Orleans headliner, which you know, yeah, this is eleventh New Orleans super Bowl, So like I guess there's always been Well, I don't know why people are upset now since there's been.
Ten other ones. We could have been like, hey, check out the talent.
Here, but I just feel like, all right, okay, shout out. Look, Hey, I appreciate you, bro, like I appreciate you even tapping in having having discussions with me, Doug uh. You know, as we're sitting here on off the edge of the podcast, me, your host, Cam Jordan, and my dog, all Pro Pro bowler DeForest Buckner, you know, man, and Man's got a couple more Pro Bowls, all pros left, and I'm he gonna do it for a long time. Might be the next you know, it might be the next great going like Kalays Campbell seventeen years deep in the game. I hope that for you, if that's what you so wish. That's crazy to me. I'm in a year fourteen. I'm bro, I'm in the your fourteen. I'm like, there's no seventeen.
There could be a fifteen, there could be a sixteen.
Seventeen. Yeah, seventeen, pushing it right there. Yeah, I appreciate.
I appreciate you at all times.
Bro, No, I appreciate your dog.
Yes, sir, Oh yeah, hey, appreciate my dog d force bluck. They're blessing the pod. After the break, we'll be back for final segment. The final push.
See what I did there? You know, let's get to my section. It's it's called the final push for a.
Reason, not just because I'm a d tackle on third downs now, but the final push because, I mean, we got to talk about it. New Orleans super Bowl. We in a hunt, New Orleans Saints.
We're in the hunt. Week one.
You get a W, and it's a big W, you know, like it felt great beating the Carolina Panthers from from a lot of points to their little points. I think it was a franchise record of the point differential there. It was like, what the score was, forty seven to ten. It's not like, you know, we're because we're already focused on week two, but to get after the quarterback, to get out, to eliminate the run, to play a complete game. Three turnovers from our defense, two interceptions, one force fumble, and really could have been like one or two more. I'm not like, I'm not saying they were stalled out saved, but it felt like, you know, everything was going right. Our way, the next time we see them, they're going to have a game plan and some probably.
Some vicious attitude with them. You know, they want to get that lick back, and it's gonna be up to us to keep on rolling.
That being said, we're heading the week two. We have the Dallas Cowboys at the Cowboys Big Star and we got to go in there with with the heads right you know they they they won convincingly last week already started the breakdown broke down. Our game film have started on Dak and the guys you got, you know, their the consumer all pro and and Martin as a guard, which now I have to do you know, tackle breakdown as well as guard breakdown and center breakdowns. I've got to do the whole line, which it is what it is, you know. As as we're going towards Avers were for us, I want to say shout out to my dog a Lonte.
Taylor, who's a who's a nickel for us?
And when I tell you who's balling, this past game had three sacks going crazy our d line. Man, you talking about Chase Young, Carl Granderson off the age, Brian Braze myself in the middle when it comes out third down. We're only gonna get better, stronger and faster, so we got to hit it. We gotta hit it now.
Uh.
And you know that sort of wraps up football. But in terms of football, not nor the Medican but football. You know.
Uh.
Former cal Beart soccer goddess queen shout up.
You know go Bearts just retired this past Sunday. Alex Morgan. Uh, you know the face of what it spells like the not you know, the the women's national soccer team retired, walked off the pitch, tears in her eyes, and.
As someone for so long who has been the face of this sport, perhaps more importantly, she has also Bennett's voice. We joined the rest of the crowd as Alex walks off and we say thank you Alex for all you've done.
Major blessings.
She she had had her retirement video saying it would be her last game last season.
And it's crazy because.
I think technically were the same year, you know, like I think we both came out sort of in that ten eleven situation from cal So to watch her go, man, that's huge, so big shout outs to her, Major blessings to you and the fam.
She announced that she you know, was expecting and that's that's huge.
Going from one kid to two. You know that that two kid household is going to be crazy, both girls. That's gonna be another legendary soccer player that making the hope they go to Cal too and do that go Bear's Cal passage.
