A speed survey is set to take place in area of Sligo Town.
It follows major concern locally over the speed some motorists are travelling in Thornhill.
It's a heavily populated area with fears for children having to cross the road going to and from the local school.
Sligo County Council is to conduct a survey in the area with a view towards installing some traffic calming measures there.
Major of the Sligo Borough and Labour Cllr Anne Higgins while this is positive, there is an onus on motorists to adhere to speed limits:
