A Sligo Leitrim Deputy is warning that latest changes to the Passport legislation will increased the work load on Department officials responsible for issuing new or renewing passports.

Deputy Eamon Scanlon issued the update as Visitors to the UK from Ireland will require a passport from the end of the month to enter the country.

Irish Ferries and Stena Line say the change is to endure compliance with border force requirements.

The Fianna Fáil TD says it's vital that those intending on travelling allow plenty of time to allow for passport issues to be resolved.
