There are local reports in recent days that Petrol and diesels prices have been shooting up at the pumps across the region due to the latest jump in crude oil prices.
This will come as bad news to motorists in an area where many commute long distances to work and can not avail of public transport.
For the first time since May oil has increased to more than a 100 dollars a barrel.
Over the past two weeks drivers have seen increases of at least 20 cent a litre on fuel, however that price could go up to 2 euro 30 cent by the first of January.
Kevin McPartlin, CEO Fuels for Ireland says, import costs will add to the increasing costs.
