A Donegal TD says more can be done to help the general public through the cost of living crisis.

The calls come despite reductions on excise duty for fuel set to be extended to spring.

The cuts, introduced in April, were due to be phased out from the start of November, but Government is now considering extended them.

Carbon tax on home-heating oil is also expected to be cut, as budget negotiations continue.
