A Sligo Councillor is raising concerns over the lack of adequate public transport and transport infrastructure in Sligo.

Councillor Anne Higgins was one of number of passengers left stranded in Sligo town earlier this week by the failure of the S2 bus to run.

The Labour Party member says secondary school children, elderly passengers as well as mothers with young babies were left waiting in the pouring rain for buses that didn't arrive.

To confound matters space at Bus Shelters were limited while inaccurate information was available on the relevant transport app

Speaking to Ocean Cllr Higgins says the North West region is the poor relation when it comes to public transport.
