Jill joined the Cedar Rapids Downtown District in 2007 to lead the newly established Downtown Farmers’ Market. In her 10 years as the Events Planner for the Downtown District and then Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, she grew the market from 50 to over 200 vendors, created Market After Dark, and ran numerous other large-scale community events and conferences.
In 2016, she joined NewBoCo as the Events Director to produce EntreFEST. During her time at NewBoCo, the organization has grown its events offerings. She became the COO of NewBoCo in 2021. Jill has enjoyed the opportunity to expand her work throughout the organization and help lead this impactful non-profit. She is grateful to be part of an organization that consists of so many dynamic, action-oriented, passionate people.
Jill teaches musical theater at Dance Arts Iowa in Mount Vernon. She currently serves on the board for Revival Theatre Company and previously served on the boards for The History Center and NewBo Market. She lives in Lisbon, Iowa with her husband Thad, son Hagen and furry baby Archie.
When asked how she was killin it in life, her response was: "Good question. I don't know that I am half the time. However, I work hard each day to do impactful work that will leave a positive mark on our community and work to support my co-workers in their important work."
This is fair! I think most women don't know that they are killin it half the time, but we all work hard each day and I appreciate her complete honesty on this question!
