The Good Morning Football Podcast is part of the NFL Podcast Network

Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.

Good Morning Football.

This is Good Morning Football.

We are presented by Old Trapper Beach Jerky Live in LA in New York City. It's halfway through your final week in October. This is off bar Bodger BMLL. And that's Peter Strigger and Kyle Brant. I'm Jamie Erdall. Peter, the Yankees put up some life last night in New York. They said, you will not celebrate on our home field. They might Dodgers just might bring it back to LA and celebrate here.

Let's say this New York is not going to just let LA trounce all over them and just walk into their building and win that series. They play again tonight, we'll see, but a big win by the New York Yankees. New York big stand against LA in a battle that's going I.

Make the announcement later on in the show.

We're having the Yankees fan who tried to take the ball out of the glove of the Dodgers right field that he's coming in.

Peter knows when he went to high school with them. He's coming in.

His name is Nick right, Guys coming in from free. He ain't she ain't trying.

Nick, trying to save you from leaving the New York fandom, like cause I know yesterday.

You were out, but you're back in.

I was out.

Yeah, just when you think you're.

Out, off far again.

But here, most importantly, did the Columbus crew win?

No?

They lost one nothing?

Are you get the battle? Get the bottle?

Couto Hernandez number nine, he's in the middle of the whole field. They couldn't get in the ball one nothing?

Red Bull win r.

Let's talk football.

Okay, cool, It's it's called Good Morning Football, Jamie. To stay focused on track. We got a big show today, a couple of guests, a lot of news to break through, and that will set our table for the first conversation here on GMFB I and Rapidport. Good morning to you on the East Coast. Big change in Indianapolis yesterday. This coming off of some headlines that Anthony Richardson created from Sunday where the Colt's going for the quarterback direction.

They are benching Andy Richardson.

And it's not just about his comments that he said on Sunday.

It's not just about taking himself out of the game because he needed a breathere. He was too tired after running scrambling around for three plays in a row. It is simply their passing offense is really just not functional. And you know the fact that he's completing fewer than fifty percent of his passes, the fact that he was like two for thirteen to start the game against the Texas, that is part of it, but it's not all of it. I mean, this offense is simply not working. And the fact that coach Shane steik And saw Joe Flacco in there for a couple of games really get this thing moving and look like he a pretty good offense win some games that really, I would say better define the contrast here.

Anthony Richardson is incredibly talented.

All you needed to do was watch that throw to Alec Pearce in the end zone just to see how good it can be down in, down out.

It was simply not working.

And the reality is the players knew too, and once the players know they have no choice, so they have benched their former first round pick and they're going with.

Joe Flacco moving forward. A big, big day for the Colts.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers this week got some very good news.

I'm Jordan Love their starting quarterback.

He tweaked his groin during the game, was not able to finish Malik Willis, It's become a really sturdy backup, finish the game.

Get an MRI this week.

My understanding is it was pretty good news, relatively clean MRI.

In other words, it's just a groin strain.

So this is going to be a matter of doing rehab, getting treatment, working right up until game time, just seeing if he's good enough to play. He is determined to play. He does not need to be one hundred percent to play. It makes me believe that he's got a really good chance. We will see if he practices today and.

Then moving forward, all right, that is optimistic since earlier this season we felt like Packers Vikings was a gift, but there was quarterback injury there. When everybody is healthy and you get to really see two teams that are at the top of the lego head to head in the regular season, it helps us shape up what we think the rest of the season looks like. Here comes the game of the weekend. It's Lions Packers. What are we most looking forward to heading into this one? As we Kyle first take one pass through this matchup.

The Packers have to do something anything about Jared Goff. I cannot explain how incredible he is playing right now.

Historic stuff.

You know, there's college programs will do, like the turnover chain on the sideline or they ring the turnover bell. They should have one of those. If he throws an incompletion, not an interception, an incompletion. You've started to see some of the facts and stats roll out about how well he's playing.

Over the last four games.

They have more offensive touchdowns than incomplete passes, in more touchdowns than incompletions. He's eighty four percent ten touchdowns no interceptions over the last four games. He's breaking Kurt Warner's nineteen ninety nine records.

Kurt Warner was.

Doing unbelievable, unthinkable thing statistically in that offense.

It was the biggest story in the world.

And Goff is just kind of cruising through October and be like, yeah, it's the ball never ever hits the ground. So the Packers, Jordan Love might be vine Leak willis, I don't even care. You have to get it to make some kind of mistake. And I don't even mean he's not gonna throw you some pick six. I mean maybe it's third and eight and he throws incomplete and has the punts.

That's what you need for.

Him, because they will go into Green Bay and they will hang thirty or forty or whatever they have to do.

It is the greatest offense right now in the league. It is so Simle's this mistake free.

So I mean, a big hit, anything to just rattle his cage a little bit.

You know, when there's a shooter who can't miss.

The NBA, sometimes there's a hard foul that someone like Dreymonell put on just to send a message. But I don't condone that in the NFL, but you have to do something to at.

Least shake him up.

Or Jared Goff is the hottest, coolest player in the league right now, and I can be beg into a matge.

Who's going to do it?

Lambeau.

You know, two weeks ago we did flips about Brian Flores' defense going up against this Jared goff led offense and that Brian Flora's defense is gonna send pressures that they haven't seen yet, and Brian Flores's Vikings defense is gonna be able to stop the Lions Ben Johnson run offense alright, they ran right through them. They scored points. They won on the Jake Bates field goal. Can I introduce you to Jeff Hafley. Let's talk about offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers. The strength of this Packers team might be the change at coordinator. Right up there in front.

Of that guy. He looks like he's got the mad scientist vibes.

He was coming from the college game, was the longtime Ohio State coach, then was at Boston College as.

The head coach. He left being a head coach in college.

To come to the NFL as a coordinator, and Halfley has come and there has been.

Immediate mediate impact.

You look at some of the numbers from the Packers from last year compared to this year, they are much improved. And this is a defense that is opportunistic. That bottom stat is wild. They have only been through eight weeks of the season. They have more takeaways this year than they did all of last year.

And they were a playoff team last year.

So to me, the Packers defense might be that worthy opponent. And I'll tell you I'm watching the game on Sunday. They're playing the Jaguars. Obviously, Love goes down and Willis comes in, and I'm watching the defense make plays on Trevor Lawrence. And then the next day I was sent a clip from a coach who said Packers defense is feeling themselves. Take a look at for Sean Gary here on this play before the pass rush.

Look at our guy Gary.

He's doing the mile crossover coming through the a grap I love this, and he's talking and that's a down lineman typically and he is just over the center, like all right, let's go.

They're feeling themselves.

Gary obviously is one of many who's looking for this. I'll tell you the Packers are not scared of the Lions. They'll go in there with Malik Willison.

They'll win.

They'll go in there and they'll have Jordan Love there and they'll go in there and they'll cross you up. They feel pretty good about their unit as a whole, youngest team in the league and maybe the team that's vibing the most as well.

Wow.

Well, I wanted to see how that play ended. I was looking for the crossover. He did all of that, but he didn't get me the crossover. But it was a quick throw so I'll give him a pass on that one. He's saying that he's got the juke moves. I think for the Packers the run game too, looking at what they did against the Jaguars with Josh Jacobs. We talked about a little bit of that yesterday, but he was very, very strong. But to me, it was where he was having success. He's having a lot of success on first downs and this is where they rushed eighteen times one hundred and six yards. What does that mean? Like, what does that all that mean? Like their ability to sustain drive, especially if we're still a little uncertain about Jordan's love health. I mean, Jordan, love means so much this offense, but somebody that could help you out, especially if you've got a bang up. Jordan loves Josh Jacobs and he's been running so good. And if you look at the correlation between a lot of the top teams that are having a lot of success, it's in the run game. You think about Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens and their success. They're five and three, Derrick Henry obviously killing it, and you think about Sae Kwon Barkley five and two. These guys there's a direct correlation to being able to establish a good run. We know that the Detroit Lions, they have a very strong defense. Josh Jacobs is going to have to probably have even a better game than he had against the Jacksonville Jaguars to give them a chance against the Lions.

Stop Jared Goff run the ball.

There's nothing I want to see more though, than that Jeff Halfley video. Again, Peter, I'm sorry that man was meant to do nothing else except chew gum, graize his buzz cut, and drink diet soda and make defensive play calls. I don't This is everything you think a defensive coordinator should look like.

He actually looks like he is.

His left hand is helping his brain operate the Packers defense.

On any given down.

I am in on the Jeff Halfley cam. I know some people are meant to be head coaches. They want to do that great Jeff Halfley, You've done it at Boston College. But you are now the only Packers defensive coordinator that I am going to remember in my history of the NFL, because you are everything I want to Packers defensive.

Coordinator to look like.

Can I just add one to them, Yeah, when you're looking at that video as you were talking of just looking, he doesn't blink. No, like when you go back and look at that does not blink at all.

I love that guy.

All right, let me tell you something that's pretty cool about Halfley. Here he is he leaves a head coaching job in college to take NFL coordinator job. People roll their eyes, they say, all right, they couldn't cut it at balls, and he's like, no, I'm not dealing with that nil stuff right now. I want to coach in the NFL.

And there's an opening in the floor's.

Guy Laflour brings up Robert Sala, a former NFL head coach, to just come and help.

Do you think his ego would be damaged?

Do you think he might be like, wait a second, here, I'm the defensive coordinator.

He's a defensive coach, no.

Ego, not insecure about it, completely open to it, and would say in the prest like no, this is great.

The more the better.

And Sala's helping on offense, but he can help on defense. We'll take all the help we can get. How secure are you as a man and as a coach that Robert Sala a former coach who is the best man at Lafloor's wedding is walking the sidelines and You're like, I'm good. I'm the defensive coordinator. I have no worries about that guy. We're doing our thing and they're doing it just fine.

I am fascinated by the solid thing. If no one saw that the Lafloor brought him in he as a gig. Now, so do we think? And Peter, I'm just like, do you think he's gonna be on the side.

He wasn't even at the game on Saturday. But maybe this is he came to practice last week.

What's his job?

He's just hanging out.

He's going to maybe too, So it's not a full time job.

Green Bay Packers shirt.

It's fluid is as he said, he just wanted to consult a little bit.

Said, I was collecting a lot of data.

He's going to have a job next year somewhere and he's going to have information from every team.

Maybe maybe he can be like a remote job, like he can wear the headset but from his home in New Jersey, like you know, just like plug in.

He's just going to zoom in.

Yeah, yeah, sorry, is this remote work, or is do I have to come into the office. That is the question at hand. Very good, very good coverage of the game of the weekend, so far as we turn the page a week nine, here we go, coming up on GMFB. It's a very rare occurrence in football, and that means when the ball is hea hoed to the end zone and then it's not just tipped up, it's not tipped down. It's not a Coppeye defender. An actual successful hail mary happened.

Over the weekend. It was an all timer in Washington.

So we got to go back into history books, full whiteboard Wednesday, Kyle.

Do you want to see some of the greatest hail Mary's of all time on video? Of course you do. They're always incredible. We're doing it right after this.

Plus mister touchdown.

We love this guy.

Calvin Austin the third punt return touchdown, receiving touchdown in that beautiful win in Pittsburgh. He's joining us next game breaker on GMFB.

Don't go anywhere.

Good morning, Austin.

Retreating back to twenty six Pote trying to get to the outside there and he's gonna get there.

Here he goes pretty chick out on the left sideline.

What a rock by Calvin Austin. Calvin Austin is hit for this corn.

As soon as he turned the corner and.

Went playing dank doodles out on that sidelines, you knew nobody was gonna catch it.

Wilson lofty, Wilson has.

A man out there.

Wilson has a touchdown.

Calvin Austin beating the pants off of his cover man.

That is just a s So you throw that restiution.

When you have play by play guys reaching into the bag for wang dang doodle and getting the pants off the coverage. You know you had an electric night on Monday night football.

Let's bring him in.

Calvin Austin, the Steelers wide receiver.

Shoot, Yeah, what's up, Calvin?

What's up? It's a pleasure to be on here. How are y'all?

We're awesome. We're so glad to see you.

You put the you put some defenders in a blender on Monday night. You had a huge game in prime time. We know you spoke after the game about how you had seen Cliff Raymond do this and you wanted to speak it into existence. But that's very different from actually executing it. What did this moment feel like for you on Monday night?

It was special. You know, I'm definitely blessed.

And when I just got out there.

You know, we had a good return set up. You know, my guys.

Blocked well for me, and then when I hit the corner, the rest is history. So it was just a big time moment to hear the crowd, how the atmosphere, how electric it was. It was definitely special.

Now, it's one thing to talk about the vibes in the atmosphere.

The numbers tell a different story.

Well, you put up some numbers that put you in a various steam list. Very few players have had fifty receiving yards, a touchdown, a part return touchdown. Let's look at the list of name to this company that are there.

Come on now out.

It's Tyreek, it's Antonio, it's Danz, and it's Sean Jackson the last twenty years and you are right there on the top of the list. When you see those names, guys you grew up rooting for, guys you grew up watching.

And one of those.

Names, Antonio Brown, that did it for so many years in that city, in that uniform.

What's that mean?

To you surreal.

You know, it's just a blessing and it's just a testament to hard work and faith. You know, like you said, I grew up watching those guys and you know, dreamed of moments like this, and so you know, when preparation meets opportunity, you get you get legendary moments like this, and so I'm just thankful for it and glad I got the capitalize on the moment.

It was so incredible to watch.

There was so much ju in that stadium and it said nights and it's Monday night. You guys got the all Black side, and it was just awesome to watch, especially you.

You're the best part of the game.

Not a lot of people, as we just talked about, have done the punt return touchdown and then a big old receiving touchdown. So I'll put you on the spot which one is more exciting for you? The punp return of the reception.

Oh, the punt return for sure, just because I felt like that was a long time coming, you know, like that was one of my big goals coming into this season, and so you know, and we always coach Danny, we emphasized that every week and he was like come on, y'all, we gotta get call and the enzone and so you know that that's why I said that was a true light team efter right there, so definitely that that that punt return.

All right, So I gotta ask this because you were blazing down there like a lot of people forget you read a four three to two man like you fast fast? Uh So do you prefer to be measured by the four to three to two or by the miles per hour? And how many miles per hour do you think you were actually going on that run because it fast up?

You know, I don't know because you know both of them, because by forty I felt like I, you know, ran a little faster.

But you know, sometimes that.

Males per hours you know, kind of depends on you know what I'm saying, like if you were getting chased and stuff like that. So honestly, I just like to get on the field and run and run past people.

So you know, either one forty or the males pro how.

Okay, all right, it's great, dude, it's all coming up. Calvin Austin the third right now.

You mentioned earlier like there's some players that we put up that you grew up watching I imagine one of those players has to be Russell Wilson.

I mean, he's been in this league.

I think since you were in junior high school, winning Super Bowl and doing all these incredible things.

What has been the experience?

You must have had some preconceived thoughts about Russell Wilson and how he plays or how he conducts himself beforehand. How has he jived with those and what's it like playing with him?

Made him sound a little old right there junior high school, but you know, it's.

Been very special.

You know, me and my dad were talking the other day about how we remember, you know, watching the Super Bowl, him battling Tom Brady and everything, and so you know, he just had a moment where he had the Paul and be like, you know, like you know, you catching touchdowns from Russell Wilson, and you know just how Russ is every single day, his intensity and you know, one of the best things I think he does is empowers his teammates. You know, he always is is encouraging and talking to us, and so that's one thing that I think that he does very well for us.

You seem to have that spirit too a little bit, Calvin, You mentioned another name in one of your answers, and he's become a legend already within Pittsburgh, but now in the national spotlight. Your Special Teams coach Danny Smith. Tell us about coach Danny Smith because those who are seeing the sideline and his energy that he brings take us inside the Special Teams meeting room with Danny Smith.

I feel like, you know, when you see the video and stuff, that's like only like the smallest glimpse of who Danny really is. If you've been coached by Danny or met him, everyone knows how Danny is and he's.

Just a very special coach.

But you know, one thing he does is he gets his all out of his players and stuff. And so that's one thing that I think the whole entire Special Teams unit does is we definitely play for each other and for him.

Calvin, that's awesome.

Listen.

I got to ask you.

You grew up in Memphis, you go to Memphis, but you've really turned your sights on helping and empowering the Pittsburgh community and the youth in that area. Why did you get involved with Youth Justice Action Month in the NFL?

It was just special to me, just because you know, the youth there are the leaders of today and tomorrow, and so one of the things that I wanted to do was just be out there learn from them because one thing, obviously I'm not from here. So just to learn about some of the great organizations that Pittsburgh has that empowers the youth, listens to them and tries to help. That's something that I just wanted to be a part of.

Calvin Austin the third two touchdowns Monday night. Maybe you can get the third kind of game going this week, and.

We appreciate you.

Calvin. Happy Halloween. You're gonna have a costume tomorrow.

I don't know. I had to be a game time decision.

Game time good.

That's very good.

Calvin, stay healthy. Say well, come on gerb anytime.

We appreciate you.

Thank you, yeps with news, give us something well.

Talk about Aaron Rodgers, remember that time he like maybe had a political campaign. We're not going to get into it, but everyone is going to be looking for next Tuesday, the first Tuesday of November. Of course, I'm talking about the NFL trade deadline.

Wide receivers have.

Not been the hot commodity. That's far Jamie's taking.

A sigh of relief. Another wide receiver, though, is on the move.

The Ravens lanning wide receiver Deontay Johnson in a trade with the Panthers Baltimore sending a twenty twenty five fifth round pick to Carolina for Johnson and a sixth rounder. Now Johnson, who's in the final year of his contract, gives Lamar Jackson just yet another weapon on this offense.

Now.

NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport and Tom Pellisero both reporting the Vikings getting offensive tackle Cam Robinson in a trade with the Jaguars, Robinson helping fill a massive need for Minnesota.

I really lost Christian Darrisa.

To a season ending knee injury last week, and we saw him there Aaron Rodgers and the Jets getting said to take on the Texans on Thursday night.

Yeah, it's a short turnaround for a foty year old VET.

But thanks to a tip from a teammate, Thomas More said, Rogers says he's been feeling pretty good lately.

Timo gave me a little found of youth, he said he's been taking for a while, all legal. Of course, I've been kind of gassing them up with. That's why I've been feeling a little bit better. But he's been taking like cayenne pepper and water, so he gave me some before the game. Felt pretty good. But I've been kind of gassing them up with that Wineeling so good. I'm not sure how much that's playing EF factor.

I mean, when your team's playing like the Jets, maybe anything can help. But according to several medical journals, cayenne, pepper and water can have several health benefits, including boosting your metabolism and pain relief. Not sure we're advising you try it, but if you do, hey, let us know works for Aaron Rodgers.

Apparently we are going.

To Munich the Giant scoring off against the Panthers on NFL Network. Rye Shine and watch Sunday, November ten at nine thirty am Eastern only right here on NFL Network and NFL Plus.

Subscription required for NFL Plus. Well, your calendar is telling.

You it is Wednesday, so we are getting out our whiteboards. More to come on Sundays. Hail Mary from our nation's capital.

Where is it rank all time? Well, whiteboard Wednesday is next.

Good morn football, Happy whiteboard Wednesday. Everybody it's Halloween eve.

Let's tick wall.

That's really clet you ask one time if we had an art department.

It's me. I am an art department. Okay.

We had a play over the weekend that we can't stop talking about, and we've also talked about coaches and their impacts and their team so far the season.

Yesterday we debated who the Coach of the.

Year is thus far, and the votes were practically split across the table, everyone making a case for their guy.

But you have to pick a pleasant.

Surprise now, the one that you didn't see coming so far this season. Peter, your pleasant surprise for Whiteboard Wednesday, number one? Your your boo topic, if you will.

I love that, all right.

So I'm sitting at home and I get this package in the mail yesterday. Oh wow, Okay, do you realize how cool this is? This is an Atlanta Falcons logo with Big Boy and Andrea three thousand outcasts.

I opened the package.

This is going to be limited sales from the Falcons website.

I'm doing a free promo.

Here because it is so cool.

Outcast twenty twenty four Falcons now.

One of the coolest sweatshirts I've ever gotten.

The pleasant surprise has been how smooth and how natural and how.

Like a glove. This has been.

Kirk Cousins and the city of Atlanta. When they brought him in, I was like, all right, here's suburban Illinois, Kirk from Michigan State coming.

Down to the four h four. How is this gonna go? Take a listen to Kirk.

Cousins pregame talking to his teammates before the Falcons went out and beat the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Cap, I'm here for it.

This great Cousins with great hesitation. Falcons fans are like, we're given what to who for how much? And it has worked And it has been off the field. It has been on the field. We scrapped no cap. We scrapped no cap.

We put our hands in the air and we wave from like we just don't care.

Everybody.

I like Ernie Pebbles in a major way.

Hey, all seriousness.

Cousins has been in well. He and Zach Robinson. The offense has been great. All those early draft picks of Pitts and Jon Drake London are I think career years. Cousins has lifted everyone and they've got a two game lead on the Buccaneers, including the tiebreaker, as they have swept the Bucks in the NFC South already before the midway point. So Atlanta, Kirk Cousins, and I will be wearing this sweat. Yeah, New York City, thank you for this one, foom.

Ice.

I like that, man. I got to get a sweater like that. An you so big time.

Man.

I'll cast just sending you like nice boxes. That's pretty cool, man.

I like that.

I like that.

So you know, for me, you know, the pleasant surprise really is jayde Daniels. Now, I know I had him and I talked about him earlier and I've been on the Jayan Daniels. I knew he was good, but I didn't know he was going to be that dangone good. Jaydon Daniels has just been absolutely outstanding, especially when you think about just the production. You know, like you go think about nineteen ninety one, the last time we saw a Washington team scored this amount of points per game. You think about his percentages. We've talked about all those things, but I want to talk about just how cool and calm he throughout this entire thing. Now there's a thing where you start seeing guys filling himself because they've got early success. He has the success, he has the swag, and he has the right temperament from this.

You know.

One of the favorite things is just one of these small little things. I'll watch when I'm watching the game and he's coming out and there's all this high pen you know, he gets he gets knocked down a couple of times, and he's just like, all right, guys, here we go.

He's so he's just so cool.

He does not waiver inside of the pocket. He's just he's my guy. I like him, and he's got a big smile like Magic Johnson man. I like it.

Perfect segue here.

If you lose early and you look bad early in the season, you get forgotten about. But then if you put your head down and go to work, you are the Denver Broncos.

Yeah.

Five and three, folks, five and three. Now, listen to me.

Bo Nicks in the first two games through four interceptions that looked really bad. Since then, he has thrown one in the sixth following and kind of has our eleven touchdowns and you're starting to see some side by side comparisons. We love Jaydon Danner's doing incredible things. Watch what bow Knicks is doing silently quietly. He and Peyton are working. Ever since he called him Ferris Bueller, he's been killing it. And I understand they beat the crap out of the Panthers. Many teams have. They beat the crap out of the Bucks early on, though many teams have not. I mean the real Bucks with their wide receivers. It's one of these things where they have my curiosity. You know who they played this week at Baltimore. You go in there and do something, then you have my attention.

And if they win.

This weekend, it's a big they get six and three. Where like the Broncos think are going to the playoffs. Everybody pay attention to him. They're doing really cool things with the rookie.

And Nanton Romo treatment for that game too, that can beat it.

Number one broadcast crew is calling bone Nix and the Broncos.

That's how I can close my eyes and hear that movie quote. What is that from?

You have my curiosity, but now you have my attention.

Jango Hey, okay, yeah?

And DiCaprio, yes, very evil character. Calvin Candy, Oh thank god.

It's like Peyton.

He's a very evil character to some people sometimes, all right. Next up Commander's wide receiver, Noah Brown, the star of Hale Noah. Now we're just getting real. Fancy joined us yesterday to discuss Hall Noah, the play that beat the Bears.

What did your Cody had to say?

The goal is to get into the end zone box out to your defender. You know, we got one guy designated a joke and three dosignated for the tip. So you know, as the balls coming down, I'm trying to box my guy out. He gets in front of me. But I see the flight of the ball is a little bit, you know, past where the group is at. So the one guy got a hand on it and it did just fall into my hands. A little bit of detail and a lot of living right went into making that play.

All right. I'll just remain tipsy on the recency bias and say this is my favorite Hill Mary of all time. But Peter, you must be able to go back in history and pick a different one that is your favorite Hill Mary of all time.

I mean, there's the first with stallback in Pearson. There's all the Aaron Rodgers ones, but I am going to a little lesser known one. I go back to Atlanta, nineteen eighty three Falcons.

Here we go, let's go to the call. Billy White Shoes.

Johnson, one of my favorites, Kyle, thank you for saving me.

Though, mark Kowski.

Roll go along down on your sideline.

It's gonna be a jump ball.

And it is pulled Johnson.

It's on the ten five pees.

Give it to you.

Up.

The Falcons have won it. They pulled it from nowhere.

One of the lesser known ones, Billy White Shoes, known for his celebrations and his dances as an oiler and the Falcons.

But I always love this kind of off the beaten path.

Heil Mary, where you not only have to make the catch, got the yards after the catch. Billy White Shoes gets in there and they scored the touchdown. The eighty three Falcons beat the forty nine ers, who are one of the premier teams in the NFL, and did so in heroic fashion.

I love that one.

Yeah, all right, well I'm gonna do because Jamie over here is showing off with her drawing, so I'm gonna do a little draw I'm gonna do a little pictionary. I'm gonna see if you guys can guess what this is. I'm gonna give you only five seconds.

Something f plus Angel.

That's the fail Mary. Yea, Let's go yes Yes.

September twenty four, twenty twelve. This was my very first year working at the NFL network. I was doing NFL Fantasy Live and this thing just went nuts. Everybody was talking about it. It's Russell Wilson in his third game in his rookie season, and just take a look at this, because it was spectacular. You tell me if it's a hell Mary or fail Mary.

As Wilt scrambles to.

Keep it alive.

The game's final play is a Wilson love to the end zone, which is fought far by take with Jennings simultaneous who hasn't who they give.

It to touchdown.

This is the most bizarre sequence you'll ever see.

At the end of the game, we're calling.

The field stands touchdown. M Seahawks win in the most bizarre finish you'll ever.

Soon Bob Man, that was just yeah, that was that to me was so cool man. You saw Golden Tata. Course he pushed Indie Jennings, he pushed him out of the way, or they had the simultaneous catch rather, but it was just so cool, just to fink the fact that they had the replacement ref during that time, that was where people were just kind of unsure what was happening with the lockout. A couple of days later, they in the lockout, but they walked away with that win, with that simultaneous catch.

Unbelievable, It was incredible, incredible. I for me, hail Mary's or.

You always remember your first and I remember the first one I ever seen, I had ever seen.

I was fifteen years old.

University of Colorado wins the University of Michigan in the Big House thirty years ago in September of nineteen ninety four, in front of one hundred and six thousand people, the largest crowd that Colorado had ever played in front of Michigan had Ty Wheatley, Biakabatuca, Todd Collins, Monti Tumor. Colorado answers with Rashon Salam, Cordell Stewart, Michael Westbrook and down. On the final play and seen about three hundred yards from the end zone, Colorado calls Jets rocket victory is the play call, and as Rashon Salam was praying in the huddle, they break the huddle and Cordell's Stewart broke their souls role mister Keith Jackson, Yes, mister Bob Greasy, greatest I've ever seen.

Lly rewind Off at the top of the picture, Stuart with time.

Let it go.

He's got three people down there.

The faults up in the.

Touchdown caught my West crowd touchdown.

It's still spectacular.

I used to every time they showed it on Sports Center or the George Michael Sports Machine, I would try to see exactly where Cordell throws it from so I could see how far the throw was.

The throw was seventy two yards.

On the air.

It looked like he was about twenty feet in the air. Hall of Famer Ty Law is right there for Michigan, trying to make the play he couldn't. Christian Fortyer is nearby, a future NFL tight end. It's still the best I've ever seen. It's still the most electric I've ever seen. Thirty years ago, Cordell Stewart to Michael Westbrook to silence the Big House. To me, is the standard. It's the best of ever.

So good, so good, so good.

It's one hundred and six thousand people. It's very hard to do and that's the kind of play that takes it. That was an excellent Merry Go Round. Final question for Waitboard Wednesday. Miles Garrett arrived in his Terminator costume on Sunday. We gave it its due because it took a max out effort out of Miles Garrett. We also have to shout out Jamiir Gibbs and I'm on Ross Brown for theirs on Thursday coming up as well, of course as Halloween, come up with your own NFL related costume that you would want to see while handing out candy from your front door.

Peter.

Yeah, So to me, this question is like if there's a pack of kids coming in, which one are you like?

Now that's pretty good. Now, if we're really.

Doing Zeitgeist moment, Austin Coppo Bianco would be the answer. That's the young man who was trying to catch the foul.

Ball yesterday at the Yankee game.

It was ripping the ball out of Mookie Betts's hands.

If you're going it's Austin Coppo Bianco at Halloween, you are of the moment.

But say twenty years ago, I addressed to Steve Barker. I was and my girlfriend at the time was Moist's saloose. Oh that's so somebody beat copp of Bianco and have.

Your girlfriend the the sunglasses that night guy.

Yeah, all that with the headphones.

So that's that's for baseball though.

For football, I want a little kid with a bunch of friends, and I want the little kid to be this guy.

Can we get the Danny Smith video? You're going as Danny Smith.

A's like an eight year old kid, and you've got all your boys just jumping all over you.

This is the costume that I want.

Danny Smith's special teams coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, having a moment right now.

He's been there forever.

But I want to see some kid going as Danny Smith trick or treat, Yeah, with all his boys jumping around.

Danny Smith costume.

If you're doing it at home in Pittsburgh, please send a.

Picture to the show.

I would love to see that. Eni buttercups and airheads.

Yeah, you know.

In my neighborhood, I'm actually known for giving out the small candies. I'm kind of like a little bit of a scrooge. On Halloween, you get the small candy, But if you've got a nice costume. I'm gonna give a big candy candy. Yeah, I might even give you double, but you gotta dress up as if I see this. This is where if you're Pancho Paul. You remember Poncho Paul with the I.

Don't know if that's his name or not from the Steelers Gays from the Steelers game.

If somebody, why of these kids come up to my house dressed up this punch of Paul. You're getting too, like two big candies, like that's what I'm passing out, But this one that's iconic. Like that's a real deep, deep Halloween costume right there.

I you know, I got a full confession. I for a long time considered being that fan on our show tomorrow on Halloween.

I'm just gonna have a.

Poncho and a tall boy bud light and just sit here all day and toss you guys. Yeah a costume. This is mine, though. If you're a kid an adult anyway, I want you to get one of those superhero muscle things like Batman or Superman. I want you to get a bald cap, and I want you to get a jet shirt. I want you to be Robert Salad. This is the cost and you walk around and you're just.

Life's pretty good. Anybody catch the Jets game.

I've even been watching. How are they doing since they let go of me. I'm sure they figured everything out right. I'm sure they much better than when they unceremoniously terminated me a few games into the season. Just do that and then be like, oh wait a second, my direct deposit for fifty thousand dollars.

A day that I'm getting just hit again.

Candy's on me. Guys who coach Sola? Wherever you are?

Somebody beat coach for Halloween? Coming up winners?

I like it.

Does that costume come with Danny Smith and Sala?

Does it come back?

Al Rodgers push?

Does that custom come to Aaron Rodgers?

Yeah?

Sure.

You think you can have your friend b Rodgers and you can keep trying to hug him and show support.

You just get out of my face.

The irony, the irony for the Sola imagery that to support Kyle's answer is that when he was employed by the Jets, we were looking up sad Sola photos, and now that he has been fired by the Jets, he's happy Sola photos because all the photos we just showed him soll are just him grinning like.

It's had dam if you want to if you want to go extra, you have him pushed around a grocery cart. That miserable video interviewing with someone sipping telling the journalists trying to be like, hey, Coachyl, how you doing just pushing that car up?

Fine, do it, It doesn't matter.

That would Cliff Lake Whole Foods. HiT's different, you know, like you just want to be in that parking lot. You gotta be there. That's where the paparazzi sit, all right. Happy Halloween, everybody, all right. So one could argue that one of the moments top moments of last week was the Jameis Winston to Cedric Tillman touchdown connection with fifty nine seconds to play in the game to lift the Cleveland Browns over division rival Baltimore Ravens. No one thought the Browns could do it the way their season was going, but Jamis was the guy that got it to get it done.

And we love Jamis on the show.

He was the original guest years ago on GMFB when Peter and Kyle and Kay and Nate were sitting there. Jamis came on and then we had them on again this week.

My early years are adding up. Is that compound interest? Is that compound effect. So every single day I'm approaching it to be a man of increase in Mita Christ. So as I continue to do that, the sky is the limit. And if the sky's the limit, they can't say the sky's the limit when people have been on the moon, you know. So I'm going up. I'm gonna keep on inspiring people and hopefully, you know, somebody grow from that.

I can't say this guy's a limit if there's people who been on the moon.

Peter.

It's an inspirational quote.

It has a bit of twists and turns to it, and it really is a thinker. Peter, do you have a funny inspirational quote that works for you and it makes you chuffle?

At the same time, mine is not as much inspirational.

It's just one of my favorite sports quotes that came during a time when Randy Moss was saying that he was the best wide receiver of all time. They interviewed Jerry Rice, and it's my favorite because of just how beautiful it is. Jerry Rice till reporters, I feel like I'm the best, but you're not going to get me to say that, Jerry Rice, like, I feel like I'm the best, but you're not finding it. I'm not going to be the one to be boasting about it yet.

No, Jerry, you feel like you're the best.

You said it out loud.

You probably think you're the best.

But Jerry Rice always in an awesome interview, And this one is one of my favorite quotes of all time.

How is there not a commercial about that? Jess, that's a great quote. I really like that.

The movie Troy with Brad Pitt, who plays Achilles, there's this part that always makes me laugh. And he's gearing up. He's got his helmet and his sword. He's really badass and he's gonna fight the champion of the Trojans, this huge dude, and this little sweet kid comes up to Achilles, this little messenger boy, and.

He goes, the Thessalonian, you're fighting.

He's the biggest man I've ever seen.

I wouldn't want to fight him.

And Achilles looks at him and goes, that's why no one will ever remember your name. Oh like Achilles an eight year old kid right here. But he just hits it between the eyes and it's so funny on the internet because Coldstone Creamer will put out their new two gallon thing and someone will be like, I couldn't finish half that, and someone will be like, that's why no one will ever remember your name.

I love that meme.

I love that quote.

It does sneak to doing great things and being remembered.

I still think Achilles did that kid a little dirty, But the Thessalonium was huge. What do you got?

You know, I'm gonna go football slash basketball here. One of the greatest of all time. Yes, Michael Jordan. He was at Chapel Hill. He was talking about the football team at North Carolina and he goes, famously, the ceiling is the roof. But it came up Michael Jordan's mouth. So it felt like, well, how could that go wrong? Like it doesn't make sense, but we're gonna take it.

The ceiling is the way way.

I don't know what, and I just remember that when viral that went everywhere. But because Michael Jordan's Michael Jordan, he can say whatever the heck he wants, because you know what, the ceiling is the roof.

And then you have to raise it at times, you know, So this one is like you walk through the mall and there's like a Spencer's gift shop and then there's a Hallmark gift shop. Right, it's always like the juxta condition of those two.

Are always very jarring.

In the Hallmark gift shop, you got the posters right, and this one I always see that makes me laugh because it's like what country are we driving the car? And you are the driver of your own life. Don't let anyone steal your seat. I'm like, that is ridiculous. So you're driving the car, you know, you get a car jack and pulled out of the car.

You're drivers
