Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.
Good Morning Football.
That's right, this is Good Morning Football. We are live here in Los Angeles and New York City. It is Wednesday, in between week three and four in the NFL season. That's Kyle Brant. That's Peter Stregger. This is Michael Robinson. I am Jamie r at All. I'm rob how's your time in laven It's been relaxing.
You know, I got four kids, so you know, some time by myself.
What I'm saying, it's.
Good for me.
No sleepless nights when you come here to La nobody waking you up in the middle of the night. I imagine that's how Cowboys fans are feeling as they enter into kind of a familiar situation in September. Cowboys are struggling. They have some frustrations, they have poor play dancing in their head.
It's not fun.
It's no fun when you open up divisional play this way. The Cowboys go to the Metal Lands to face the Giants on Thursday Night Football. That is Ceedee Lamb talking to anybody who will listen, specifically his quarterback. He will be here to have this conversation. In case you are asking faball, is week four too soon to have a must win game for Dallas? We had to ask the owner of the Cowboys, Jerry.
Jones, well, I don't want to minimize the importance of playing New York in our division. That says enough right there, and we need a good game. It's tough place to play. Again, what's a must win? We play seventeen games. Some sports play over one hundred and fifty games, and to me, when I think about it, that's the case. You might look back and say, that's a game that you turned the corner. That's the game that you did. Did that? And I don't mean to sound cavalier when I'm saying it, but every possession is important possession for us and for each player.
Kyle Brandt says, stack wins. Jerry Jones says, what's a must win? Even though we kind of sidestep the answer to that question, if you watch the Dallas Cowboys with the last couple of weeks, you'd think that there is a definition of a must get back on track at least Peter. The good thing is Dak Prescott has beat up on the Giants.
In his career he has, and this might come at the right time for the Cowboys if you think about it.
They've not played anyone in their division yet.
So they beat the Browns, they lost to the Saints, and then they lost to the Ravens. Fresh Slate win the division, you're in the playoffs, and if you're the Dallas Cowboys, that's been the case the last several years. You find a way into January Football. And one of the reasons you do that is because you just notched two wins over the New York Giants. Every season you put that in there, you get the schedule and say when we've been the Giants, win, win, and if Dak's under center, that's not hyperble. Take a look at how dominant Dak Prescott has been.
Over the New York Giants since twenty seventeen.
Twelve, and all this is underreported.
Underreported is right, and I would hope that Al Michaels and Herb Street and the whole Amazon crew go big on it, because this is how historic this run is. The Cowboys have won their last five games played on Thursdays. Also, so all the odds are stacked in Dak's favor. This is your get right game. However, look at the NFC East this past weekend.
Looks like Stella got her groove back.
In three different cities.
I would like to dance with you.
Yes, Digs, we love you. We love you, Tank Digs. You follow everyone on Twitter and we follow you.
Yeah.
The Giants they got their first win, the Commanders got their first prime time win. And the Eagles, with everyone breathing down their necks, how they've got a firestorm going on. They went down into New Orleans and beat the team that blew out the Cowboys the week before.
Is it a must win?
It's never a must win in September.
Is it a really nice to have win? You better believe it, especially given.
The history between Dak Prescott and this New York Giants organization.
We're here in New York. It's very rare.
The Giants and Cowboys will be put on Amazon on a Thursday night.
Usually that's like a that's either a Sunday.
Night game or a Fox like Big four o'clock game.
Don't take this one for granted, Cowboys.
All the eyes will still be watching you, the Dallas Cowboys, and all the eyes will be focused on whether.
This is okay. Breathe easy.
It's still the Giants and Cowboys and dot going against those uniforms or if this is reason for real long because I promise you this, if the Giants take care of business on Thursday, Friday morning show will be a.
Lit one litch. I'm feeling that totally.
Y'all lit over there in New York this morning?
Man, what was the beat? What was the beat this week? Amazon?
Well now they change it now it's like the New Orleans thing, like if they're all at a party.
John Williams last year, Hans Zimmery.
Y'all lit over there. Look, I'm with you, Peter.
It's a little too early for you know, cowboy fans to panic for the Cowboys to look at this game as a must win. But they damn sure better play well, they damn sure better you know, put some good on tape and just show that graphic I didn't know Dak was damn was perfect against the New York Giants. So this should be a get back game for the Dallas Cowboys and especially their offense. But to give up one hundred and eighty five rushing yards a game, that's this Cowboys defense right now. And guys, when you're looking at it on tape. Teams take double teams, whether it's the double team with the guard in the center, or whether it's the double team with the with the guard and the tackle, and they're literally picking defensive tackles up. They're picking these guys up and putting them.
In the laps of the linebackers.
And so when a team get just hand the football off and run straight through the heart.
Of your defense. And guy, let me tell you, guys a little bit of a secret.
Defensive coordinators do not want like they treat the middle of their defense. It's as like the Holy ground, right the defensive tackles through the middle, linebackers, through the middlefield safety. They don't want anything messing with that part.
Of their defense.
And for right now, the Cowboys, their middle of their defense just ain't right right now. And again I talked about it yesterday. When you start to see player lid, you know, everybody coming together on the sideline, let's let's get.
Off stuff together.
You see Michael Parsons and the defenders coming at the after each other.
They spelled some problems.
So I think it's not a must win, but you better play well and you better feel good about this team after this.
Game, and if that means the win, then so be it. Mike, you know it so well.
On the trenches, I'm gonna ask you because I mentioned Hans.
Zimmer earlier in the segment, or it's going to Mike Zimmer in this segment. They've got these defensive tacks, like Mazie Smith is playing defense deack.
He's like two ninety ninety five, he's lighting the pants.
Can you see Can you see this while you're watching as an ex football player and also looking at the all twenty two? Can you see that the Cowboys defensive line is just getting bullied because of size?
Oh hell yeah, yes, and so and so. Whenever I hear all the you know, getting that Mike McCarthy and getting that Zimmer for the defense and things like that, don't get me wrong. There's some x's and no things they can be tighten on and players can be can be better on. But I mean the ingredients to cook the meal just saying they're I mean, I mean, I don't know.
They've tried.
They've tried to bring in guys like Limpoo, Joseph and other big guys in the middle of this defense.
But yeah, you can see it.
And so I understand the frustration for Michael Parsons. It's a contract year for him trying to get his money and the defense getting ran through like Switsch Chase. I mean, I I'm a holding of the Swiss Chee. So I look, they got some problems offense. Again, that's gonna look good. They're gonna do their thing all that, this, that, and the third. But if a team could just run straight right through you, man, it's hard to win games in.
The National Football League that way.
Yeah, I mean, they're they're they're treating the defensive line like Pedro treated.
Don Zimmer and now three Zimmers any more.
Get them, man, But listen.
I'm gonna disagree here.
I think it is a must win because I think the Dallas Cowboys have their own definition of must win. First of all, one thing I've learned, coaches, owners, et cetera hate the term must win.
They hate it because if.
You lose a must win, you get fired or you look ridiculous. They never would admit to it, doesn't matter what their record is. But the Cowboys have a different definition. Now you could go and then by the must win thing and be like, well, the standings.
Let's look at their schedule. They blah blah blah, blah blah blah at one point and we're at the point.
The Cowboys as a team in an organization, need to put a cork in the bs to shut everybody up before it gets the code red. They lose three games in a row, they start one in three like that's code red for them. That's where it's like, it's not cool anymore. We're not talking about you anymore. You're not selling jerseys anymore. It's just that everything they don't want, so they don't need one in the standings. But even the media obsessed with the Cowboys, you get to one in three, one and four, you're out of the show. Now we have to talk about the better teams. That's what they hate. Now they have started one in three and befo. It was Mike McCarthy's first year. It was just about twenty twenty and they ended up having a terrible season.
They've done it before. It was really, really, really ugly.
But after a month, here we are where it's like the Cowboy's quarterback is super paid and telling people.
Get off the bandwagon.
Now, all right, we'll win the wide receiver is screaming on the sideline, all right, we'll win. We've already reached this point of like, man, we really need to win, especially if you're telling me Peter, the dak Prescott hasn't lost to the Giants since the raining Super Bowl champs were the Denver Broncos.
Like, that's how.
Long it's been.
We need a win, not just for the standings, of course, for the optics and the media and all the conversation. And I just have to say, Mike's starting the show by saying I'm here in California.
It's great because they get some break from the kids. That's a bold take, Mike.
Normally we keep that in silence, like when I'm flying across the country and my wife's like, oh, it.
Was the flight long, babe, was really hard.
I'm like, yeah, it suck to lie there and have four glasses.
Of wine and watch June two for the fifth time in privacy with a blanket.
It was a terrible flight. We don't admit that out loud, Mike.
That was nut. Yeah, it was.
But you know, I forgot I was on Camra, you know, Jamie Trick.
I know I forgot about that. It was just her and not talking.
You know, that's what makes a good TV host is we're like, you're so comfortable here.
The show has started.
Reveal all your secrets.
Okay, god, it must be nice. You know that trend that Peter is referring to, it's crazy company that he's in with Dak Prescott beating up on the Giants twelve and zero in his career. You've got Bob Greasey did it seventeen times straight against the Bills, Tom Brady did it thirteen times straight against the Bills, and then Steve Young did at thirteen times against the ram So no, I know, I know, I'm sorry, Buffalo.
It's all right.
You guys are fine, and week four, you guys look great. The Mike Zimmer question is an interesting one because you say that if you think the picking up linemen and putting into the laps of the linebackers, the season didn't just start. It's not like these guys have like it's not week seventeen and all they have got it is early, like he knew the body build of the players that he had going into this defense. My question is, is this typically the build of a Mike Zimmer defense and those guys like a Brian Flores once, guys that will come out of the backfield like maniac with their hair on fire. Does Mike Zimmer normally have defensive players that are late in the pants?
I didn't say it.
He didn't.
No no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no no again.
Defensive coordinators want those defensive tackles to be able to stop the run, to be able to take on double teams, split double teams, let their linebackers run. Here's the issue with having lighter defensive tackles of guys that are being picked up and put into the lapse of the linebackers. Whenever the opposing quarterback turns around and sticks that ball out for the running back to get the football, all the linebackers, even the secondary, they got to start taking steps toward the line of scrimmage because they know the running back is going to get a clean entry to the line of scrimmage and they want to tackle, especially guys like Derrick Henry getting clean Galla.
You put Derrick.
Henry a clean entry to the secondary, There's not a defensive back in the damn world that's going to try to tackle him full speed. That's the disadvantage. It puts your defense in When a team can run the football, now, play becomes alive. Now again, when you fake, those linebackers are into the line of scrimmage, guys get lost, players get open downfield, You lose games. So they got to get that rush defense settled if they don't.
Been a long season for the Dallas Cowboy.
Loved Constant Zimmer on Entourage, a show in which Jerry Jones had a cameo late in the in the series, Jade Daniels, have we come to terms of the fact that he is the man in Washington? He delivered a beauty on Monday Night. Scotta thinking though your favorite clutch throw, My mind goes to Minneapolis Miracle, but that's in the playoffs. We go regular season. Favorite clutch throw? That is a whiteboard question because it is a Wednesday.
Yeah, I'm still thinking about that one Bikeen's Packers on Sunday.
I'm gonna tell you why.
The best matchup and this one will be on the two guys on the sideline deepens of coordinator Brian Floores and mattla Floor.
Let's get it pretty cool.
Can't wait for that one.
Great slated games the week four of four US, but it is the best game of week four Sunday Nights, Bill's Baltimore, Derrick, Henry, Josh Allen. We're gonna get into all of this stuff right at this Good Morning Football on a Wednesday.
Whiteboard coming in hot, let's.
Go, let's come.
Good Morning Football.
Hey, it's signed for Whiteboard Wednesday, presented by Tostitos. I've been wanting to do this, the Power Rank the Tostitos, just real quick, can I just can I just hit you at the top three. I got Scoops as my number three, Cantina as number two, and I'm a big original girl.
Love a good chip asket, Kylie.
I know you respect it.
The hint of Live Delicious.
It's only at top three.
Maybe it was four.
I don't know, You'll never know.
I just had to do it so creat all right.
Jadan Daniels converted his clutchest.
That's a word.
The most clutched pass of the season Monday Night to Terry McLaurin your favorite clutch regular season Peter regular season pass.
Is as follows.
Please paint us a beautiful picture of my friend.
This is so good, Jamie. Thank you for this amazing tea up because you.
Always think about the clutch super Bowl plays or like you said earlier, like a Minneapolis miracle.
You're likelet's throw a playoffs regular season.
I take you to the nineteen ninety four regular season again, a season that Kyle and I both share is our favorite NFL seasons of all time. They would wear the vintage uniforms based on the seventy fifth anniversary of the NFL, and Joe Montana was playing for the Kansas City.
Chiefs, and he was like this old war horse.
He was getting beat up, he had a million different injuries and yet was still winning games for the Chiefs, while John Elway was John Elway before the Super.
Bowls for the Broncos phenom.
They're playing on Monday Night Football and Elway drives his team all the way down the field in Mile High for the win, and then Montana has a chance to answer. And Montana, in those amazing uniforms with that patch over the nine, goes back to pass and in the final seconds a Monday night foot it's Willie Davis, and Willie Davis she just gets in for a touchdown in Mile High. Marty Schottenheimer had had his heart broken so many times by el Way when he was the Browns coach.
Marty comes in as the Chiefs.
Coach and breaks Elway's heart once and for all.
The Chiefs get the win. It was a regular season game. Neither one of these teams would go on.
To win the Super Bowl that year, but it meant so much for Chiefs fans to see Montana go into that building and beat that quarterback in a classic showdown between two legendary quarterbacks.
I could talk about this all day.
Let's go, Oh, we love it.
That was legendary, Peter legendary. I got, I got another legendary play. This was kind of tough for me, guys, because you know, a lot of playoffs moments came.
Yeah, all that will say that.
I'm gonna take you guys back to September twenty fourth, twenty twelve. Okay, why does the hat stand out for me? This was a successfully ran. Oh Mary, Okay, let me tell you this. The circumstances we had some replacement refs, so well, you know, referees were going through some work stoppages.
You know what I'm saying.
He put my board up there, you go gold and tape with the hell Mary I put the f and parnt the seas though over there I put that parents because it was real.
He caught it. I saw it.
I was the first person to run over there. I threw my helmet and then I told everybody, let's get in the damn locker room right down before they decide to replay this thing.
And we lose, and all the Green Bay Packer.
Players, some of them, you know, came over, you know, after the game or whatever, and you know, said, man, you guys didn't win. I said, yes, we did. You guys didn't win, I said, but at this go on board.
It counted.
The next week the real refs had jobs again, and yeah, that's what happened. That was my favorite play actually was in that game, Mike.
The Packers famously after that went tweeting and screaming and furious. So to this day don't think they won. What was it like for you guys when you went back in the locker room. Did you finally close the doors and be like, wow, I can't we just got that.
Of course we were like, oh my goodness, I can't believe we got away with that.
Are you kidding me?
I was amazing, dude.
Everybody should know.
We had Golden on the show a couple of years ago and put the screws doom about that play. We showed it, We broke it down frame by frame. He of course insisted he caught it.
But it's funny you mentioned Rogers my play.
The twenty sixteen Bears were a really bad team, the twenty sixteen Packers, where I think we can run the table where their record was bad, and then they started winning and winning and winning, and then one day Aaron Rodgers went to a sub frigid Soldier Field and the terrible Matt Barkley Chicago Bears fought like warrior poets down seventeen in the fourth quarter. To tie it up, they forced Rogers into a third and eleven, and they're gonna beat Rogers and Soldier Field.
And then this happened. On a third and eleven.
They said, screw it, let's chuck it deep to Jordy and Rogers just on corks one and bam, Jordy spike the ball. Mason Crosby warm up the bus, let's go to go back to Wisconsin.
This was the.
Bears crawling, trying to have any kind of hope. At least we can salvage a win over Rogers elbow drop off the top rope, a full absolute decapitation. And this is one of the prime examples of Rogers owning the Bears as a Green Bay packer. That was a kick to the stomach and several other parts of the body.
An amazing one twenty sixteen.
Those are so good, man. It's so easy to lean on January and February, but like to force your hand to the regular season is a great time.
Regular season.
Yesterday we had Safewan Barklay on the show, which we were so thrilled about, and Kyle Kyle had to let him know not about his favorite ron, not about his favorite player as running back over, no about one of his favorite appetizers.
When you mentioned greatness, Saquon, I personally think of the neighborhood nachos, Chipotle, lime chicken at Applebee's.
I'm not afraid of him at all. I'll get down on it. I dig it, dude.
You want greatness That Eagles are wonderful. It's a wonderful organization. The neighborhood nachos go hard. I'm into them completely.
Good to know, Sapan would say, I wasn't sure where you were going with that, and Kyle landed the plane as he always does, specifically when it comes to appetizer talk. Number one on your restaurant appetizer power rankings are Peter and take us.
To the top.
Great question, Jamie. You gave your tostitos rankings. We are now giving appetizer rankings. If you're not hungry at home, I don't know what you're doing.
I like to eat good in the neighborhood.
Who doesn't.
They're a leak partner. We appreciate that.
And I know this might seem basic at home, but they don't ever fail.
Really, you can't get them wrong.
You can go into any place and get an order of Mazzereltics and just look at the visuals.
You want the Marinara sauce on it?
Great?
You want to go with more marin Aaron just seven smothered great. Some of these places have like the flat square Mozzarelli stick.
You don't get usually eight of those. Usually get four of those. I like where, Yeah, I have fool, I like have eight, So I like it.
It's like a hash prom but it's a month.
No doubt, that's what it is.
We're just like sitting in it.
It's great.
Eight hundred and sixty calories for a plate of Mozzarelli sticks.
Whether you're into it or not. I'm always into it, and maybe I shouldn't.
Be, but that's where I That is my Achilles heel. Folks, mozzarella sticks. If it's on the menu, it's being ordered.
Yeah, Peter, Can I interest you in twelve string cheeses?
Absolutely not.
And I deep fry them and put pizza sauce on the side of it. Absolutely, sign me up. That's how a mozzarella stick work.
Eight hundred cali, Peter.
That's about an hour on the elliptical in the morning.
Yeah, gonna get that work.
In this morning.
Dog, huh that get that work here, big dog.
So you can eat them mozzarella sticks for me. This was This was another tough one.
Guys. I don't eat meat. I was gonna say salad, but that was like born lame. I'm gonna go with spinach dip and I I liked it.
Actually is really good spinach dipick.
It goes with a lot of stuff.
Oftentimes I get it reheated back up because you know, it.
Stays on the table way too damn.
Sometimes because I'm eating other stuff and I get it reheated back up.
And it's awesome.
And my kids usually steal it from me as always.
But at least getting their greens like Papa spinach nice.
I don't mind that spinach dip and a bread bowl either that now we're talking.
I mean, that's it's its own little house in there. I love Motrell six to. The only problem is, Peter, there's a there's a speed factor. If you delay it all like.
This cheese starts to congeal and it's not all stringing and delicious.
This one is so distinctly American.
Give me sliders before I actually start to my main course. Can I have five small cheeseburgers and then I'm gonna order a regular sized cheeseburger. It's really fantastic. You can't pass on a good slider. There's pickles, there's a vacab.
There's a skewer, Peter a skewer.
It's also great late when you're wasted at a wedding, they bring them out.
Yeah, let's go love shack sliders. Those are my guys.
Oh, Kyle, we just found out ap images, appetizer images, that's what they're good for and we love them. And on this day in two thousand and seven, one of the greatest games was released of all time. I'm speaking, I'm reading this.
I don't actually know it. It's Halo three. I didn't.
I didn't game on Haloo brand name. A video game that sums up and there is sums up an NFL storyline so far this season.
Peter got a picture.
I don't have a feeling for Halo three either. The game that does not even hit my wasn't a Halo guy.
I remember Jonah Hill doing commercials for.
Halo and I was like, that's that's a big that's a big commercial.
George is a Halo tattoo?
He does people love Halo?
Is that like music?
Is that Halo?
Yeah, there's music in it.
I think, no idea.
I go back to Nintendo.
There's a million Nintendo games, and yes, there was a game called Top Gun and it came out the same time as the original movie came out, and there was a board in a level where you had to land a plane on a runway that was not aircraft career possible. You have this aircraft carrier and you have to time it right, and if you literally go through the entire game, and you get to this point and you have to start over all over again. You'd go through the entire game and start over. It was nearly impossible. I don't think anyone on first try could ever land the air coach.
Pull up, pull out, too high, so hard, too.
Slow, and you're trying to help you, but it doesn't work.
That is the Jaguars trying to win a darn game.
That is what it feels like watching the Jaguars landing this plane. It has been nearly three hundred days, folks, Jacksonville has looked worse and worse, and I'm at home yelling up low right, left, too fast, too fast?
What is happening?
It is a nearly impossible feet at this point for the Jacksonville Jaguars to just get a dub. And that is how I felt playing Top Gun as a kid, and I'm sure if I played it right now, I would be as equally frustrated as I was as a kid. And this was long before Miles Teller and Glenn Powell and Jennifer Connolly looking like an absolute ten at this age.
I am talking about back then, the.
Original Top Gun nearly impossible and the Jaguars.
That's how I f Tom Cruise himself could not have landed that plane.
Ye, what an incredible tangent for Peter and Jennifer Connelly out of nowhere.
Respect to Paul Bettany, the husband.
I'm trying to be very a division.
My husband was on a flight with Jennifer Connolly like last week from Albany to DC and he's and I was like, how was she so lovely? He's the nicest human, one of the nice two everga Mcross, but also just one of those people. And assume you're like, that is a stunningly beautiful human. I'm like, I respect it. I respect it on a flight.
I'm from all the boys.
Always welcome on a flight, always welcome on the show. Jennifer Connelly, if you'd like to join us for right here, that's.
The booking team. We're the booking team, right, we need a booking team. Call it out going there, all.
Right, I guess I'll start with the storyline. The storyline is Caleb Williams is going to be the savior for the Chicago Bears in the video game. I chose with Zelda. Yeah, own into those days back in the day. Now guys, you gotta understand what Zelda. I think I forget when it was released back in the eighties, late eighties, early.
Ninet or something for sure, and link he was the main character.
He had to travel through death Mountain right and death show is the NFL season, right, And he had all of these sages and different profits and people to help him, you know, navigate all the evil bosses, which is the NFL schedule.
For Caleb Williams.
He has guys like Shane Walder and mat ebro Flu's Ryan Poles all in the front office and coaching staff for the Chicago Bears. I must tell the Chicago Bears fans be patient, just like you had to be in Zelda.
Sometimes you may lose some.
Lives, you know what I'm saying, But you get you get multiple ones on the game right so that you can ultimately make it to your final destination. But this kid needs some experience. He's getting it right now. You gotta stay patient with him. Zelda is the game for Caleb Williams.
Let's go love the game nineteen eighty seven that drop the gold cartridge.
You start, the Wood Sword, the White Sword, the Magic Sword. We gotta get a sword upgrade for it. We were told he had all the weapons though Micron.
You got the boomerang, you got the candle, you got the red candle, and it's just kind of not working so far. But we're only a few games in now. Listen, I'm not gonna go all old school. It's not how he's about the eighties and nineties all the time. I'm gonna go with the more contemporary game and go with.
Duck Hunt's go right.
Duck Hunt is the Minnesota Vikings. You know a lot of the fans of the Vikings probably like to hunt in their free time. And I'm just looking at Sam Donald and he's got that light gun and it's just pressed up to the screen.
Bang bang bang.
He's hitting everything, is making it look so easy, not even going back to six or seven feet that the court.
Allows you to do.
He is pressing it against the screen and blowing the ducks out of the sky. And then, probably like the rest of us, after we complete every round and he goes pumping them up, Pup, pup, pup pump.
That stupid ass.
Dog comes out laughing at us, and then we empty the clip on the dog. Because it's a video game, and it's fine. How you enter your frustration. Duck Hunt used to come with the system. Sam Donald did not come with the Viking system. They had to acquire him, maybe like one of those secondhand video game stores for three bucks. But it's going beautifully, Kevin O'Connell's not even not even they're going.
It works fine, bang bang bang bang bang. Miking's coming up, duck question side and Kyle, you would know this.
And I used to go to Babbage's Electronic boutique. Did the gun come with the nes like you did to buy the gun separately?
Gun was sold separately.
So they'll give you duck Hunt, but no gun. You gotta go with it.
Maybe there was a package for the loud gun to come with it, but I think you have to pay the fifty bucks for the gum or gun or the max the robot or any of the power glove or the power pad or any of.
That track and field the power Yeah, Samy, I just want to do one more.
Shout out you.
You put up tostitos, the cups, what do they call it, the scoops.
It's there's no other option when it comes to a guacamole or a more dense sort of salso that's maybe bean based or something.
Have to go with the scoops I think there. Don't you feel like you get your fingers in the salsa when you.
Use got to be precise how much I got to be a little precise to go for.
Quantity of chip, not the quantity of the scoopy.
You got to go multiple chips for that.
But the strength of the scoop is what's key for like a spinach dip for example. Yeah, but the cantena don't be differ with the CANTEENA that's just an that's just like a drop it in the saltat Crazy Sherry Burreth, let's just put them all together. You have barbecue wings, spinach dip, mazzarella sticks, or a slider. Where do you go when you're at Applebee's.
So I'm at Applebee's, I'm definitely going with the motstick. I agree with piece eggs. You can't go wrong with deep right in Marinara geese to kind of throw like a curveball on this. I'm a really big cheese curd fan, which, if you ask anyone from Wisconsin, that is different than a mazzarella stick. Deep fried tempora battered to dipped in Ranch. Is where I'm at Ranch.
For ditching the marinara.
You're going Ranch only for a cheese curd.
I don't dip cheese curds in marinera, but I do a mott stick in marinera.
You have so many questions, but yeah, why don't you answer some about the Bengals?
All right?
So we do start the season though with Cincinnati, which has been anything but ideal for the Bengals. They lost Monday night. They're now zero win three for the first time since twenty nineteen.
And they're getting some worse news.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport is reporting right tackle Trent Brown will undergo season ending surgery. He suffered a partially torn for teller tendon in his right knee on Monday. Ian adding Brown, though is expected to make a full recovery, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel announcing quarterback Skyler Thompson is considered day to day after suffering what he called a pretty painful rib injury in Sunday's loss.
To the Seahawks.
And see a hit here.
If Thompson can't go against the Titans, it'll be either Timboyle or Tyler Snoop Huntley getting the Start and Hall of In Quarterback Brett Farve announcing Tuesday he's diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Far Of making this announcement during a Congressional committee hearing in Washington. Now changing gears. Dianna Flores, quarterback and captain of the Mexican National Flag Team. Well, she puts family first in everything, this Latino heritage mom. She shares her mother's favorite recipe, helping her show her pride in her culture.
Right, I am Deanna Floores, quarterback for the Mexican National black Pool team and Anvil Global ambassador for my culture. But itself is a true celebration of life.
That's how we.
Express our joy, our love. All my life, I've seen my mom in the kitchen cooking for us every day, every meal. I also have good memories from my grandmom cooking every time we went to visit her. She used to bring all these favorite food to the table to bring the family together. So to pick one favorite traditional dish is so hard. But my favorite favorite one is posoli, which is a traditional kind of soup. We have red pasolic, green bosole, and white basoli. And my mom's favorite is the white one, so I prefer white. No matter where in the world you are, you will always hear our people bragging about how amazing our food is. I think gives us a sense of pride and connect us with our roots.
I think a way for me to stay.
Connected with my roots is trying to share a little bit of our culture with with of my new friends around the world. It's what reminds me who I am and where I came from.
Soda.
Thanks Deanna for sharing that.
Man, all this food and talk this morning's gotten.
Me hungry c tuberly for lunch.
Oh No coming up though, m Rob breaking down the NFC North chess match set to go down this weekend in Green Bay. That was not a touchdown by the way m Rob see it.
Buzz, Good morning, Welcome back to GMFB guys.
We got an epic match up right here, Minnesota Vikings going up against the Green Bay Packers, and to me, the chess match will be one or this game will be one between these two guys right here. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores for the Minnesota Vikings and who I think is on a short list right now early for the Assistant of the Year. And this is another guy, Matt Lafloyd, head coaching play caller. I'm for the Green Bay Packers, who again is on my short list for Coach of the Year, dealing with the adversity of this team has had to deal with.
That's some tape.
Show you guys how this chess match could possibly play out.
Now, Brian Floyes, what he does a great job.
At is attacking of pass protections.
Right.
What you're gonna see right here is the forty nine ers offensive line. They're gonna slide to the right right. They're gonna slide up to the right right, thinking this player right here is gonna be blitzing. But in actuality, the other linebackers blitz and you see the line slide. You see you're gonna have a free rusher on Brock party with everybody in zone in the second level looking at the quarterback expecting a free rusher, expecting the ball to come out. As you can see, they get a hit and a sat on Brock party. Here's again, you see the sam up top right there, that's a linebacker up top right. You're expecting that guy to blitz. What he's gonna do is he's go dropping coverage. The linebacker on the other side who's kind of green dogging the back, slow rushes and forces an arid throw right here from the Houston Texas again, and that was a matchup zone from the Minnesota Viking. So you had one pressure with man behind it, another pressure with matchup zone behind it.
Again, that's leg Go ahead and let this think play again and go on to the.
Run play right there there you go getting up on there and there's royan Flore's defense getting into the backfield. Now you go to Green Bay side, and when you look at Green Bay, they have this new quarterback in Malie Willis.
And I thought, I'm not gonna lie to you guys, hope Maleak's watching. I thought Malik's Willis's career was over.
I didn't think this guy was gonna be able to do it. But he got with a real system. He got with the Green Bay Packers and Matt Lafleura.
You can do all of that attacking the protection if you want. They're just gonna run the football right here.
Run the football with Josh Jacobs, who again he does a great job of protecting the running back as he enters the line of scrimmage. As we let this play play right here, because when you're running the football, it takes the second level guys having to run to the ball right and once these guys run to the football, it.
Opens up play action.
Look at this entry into the line of scrimmage right here. This is eight guys around the line of scrimmage.
Matt Lafloor in this Green Bay offense.
Found an opportunity to get to the second level with Josh Jacobs, and you know this guy is one of the best backs in the whole damn National Football League.
And again Josh Jacobs in the backfield.
Watch the linebackers respond right here to the playfake.
There's the playfake.
These guys are two yards from the line of scrimmage. They're into the line of scrimmage when the second level of your defense is into the.
Line of scrimmage to stop the run.
Look at all the space it creates on the back end for Malik Willis and these Green Bay pass catchers to find little holes to catch the football. This is where the chess match is going to happen. Can Matt Lafloor run the football and create some explosives all play action to combat the blitz of Blind Flores Kim blind floor Kim. Brian Floores find an opportunity to attack some of the pass protections in the past pros of the Green Bay Packers. Guys, I don't know who's gonna win that matchup, man, too early in the week. Right now, I'm still watching tape and checking some things. But I'm interested to see how my guy's up there in New York, what they feel about it, because uh, I don't know, man, it's a pickle.
It's a pickle to be it.
It's a great one and it's a great week for a gift that we have.
What's interesting to me is that Laflour can play another level of this chest maybe you call it three D chests.
He doesn't have to.
Announce his quarterback yet, so if Jordan Love can magically go. If you're Brian Flores, you're preparing watching tape in the last two weeks with Malik Willis and.
This run heavy offense.
But they could set eleven twenty nine, say you know what Jordan Love's gonna start, and it's a completely different offense.
Laflour playing it very close to his vest I assure you.
We won't know who's starting this game until about ninety minutes beforehand, and that's by design. I think it's fascinating and you've been spot on, Mike. I don't know if there's been a better defensive coordinator of this season than Brian Flores out in Minnesota.
From Flores has been amazing from a wider perspective on the floor, the stages.
That he is now going through.
Stage one was Okay, you can hang with Aaron Rodgers.
That's really impressive. That's not easy to do.
And then stage two is supposed to be it Jordan Love You guys found him.
You're a really good coach. But now stage three is can Matt Lafleur win with anybody? Can he win with a guy off the bench? Can he win with the first batt Hall of Famer? The answer is yes, he wins this game, he wins another one, even with Mlik Willis. He's having this massive ascension and everybody thought he was a great coach. Now he's like one of the top top top coaches. It's really impressive what he's doing. There's no reason to pack should be playing this well on offense.
A division defining game, This early in the season in the NFC North and it's between these two coaches. I always forget the assistant coach of the year. M Rob dropped that on us as Brian Flores Matt Lafleur is Vikings Packers. God, that is a tale as old as time.
It's good.
Can't decide yet early in the week.
But we'll get there.
How impressed were you watching the game back?
I mean, it's kind of inges Derek that we saw yesterday in kind his first breakout game year.
Did you see his suit in his hat? Huh? Was that impressive?
I was impressed with a suit in the hat, but that was a lot more impressed with the game, you know, as a football coach, man, I tell you that was that was fun.
Time for a week of Call present a by Verizon. That's John Harbaugh impressed by Derek Henry, Dereck henry side speed capabilities, nay, his closet and how dials on his way into the game. Let's look at running backs right now, Peter, who is your favorite one that you're watching.
I'm a big fan of what's going on in New York and I love that Joe Douglas and the boys found this guy in the fourth round out of Wisconsin. Mike Robinson, you called Big ten games the last few years.
You're not a stranger to this.
Now.
This is Braylen Allen, the rookie, the youngest player in the NFL. He's the youngest player in NFL history to score two touchdowns in a game, and he's just getting started. Look, I don't manage your fantasy football team. I don't care about whether Breece Hall is getting his touches. I'm happy to see Braylan Allen. Mike rof who you got, I got?
Say?
Kwad Barkley sat saying ye, we had him on the show yesterday. Leads the National Football League over three hundred and fifty rushing yards. They need to put the ball more in his hands, right, They maybe can calm his offense down and not turn it.
Over so much.
Here's my guy, number thirty three in it's purple, Aaron Jones. I think this era of running backs post Ledanian, post Adrian Peterson, you don't have a lot of stalwarts. It's really Dereck Henry and a couple other guys. Aaron Jones has been one. He immediately joins the Vikings after being a Packer for years, and they love him.
If he went back to the Packers, they would love him. We love him.
He is going back to the Packers this weekend, but it's to play in Lambeau. That's the og right there for the segment that's Derrick Henry. It is so fun to see him run in purple?
Are you serious?
Derrick Henry shout out, I like the suit. I don't know, I'm rob had beef, Yeah, a.
Little bit of beef. He running. He doing all this with five chains on board.
He run it to your defense with five damn chains on man. Come on, man, that's total right now, Hey.
Kyle, I felt like early on when Derek Henry sighed with Baltimore were there was a mild taste of doubt that you had about like this version of Derrick Henry. Have you been impressed?
You had doubt too?
Okay?
Oh hell yes?
Then nobody works harder than that guy. Nobody has better genetics than that guy. The combination of both is why he was destroying people last week.
Look at that shut Yeah, I think seventies
Good mon football
