Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.

Good Morning Football Live from Lavangelist. This is a warm welcome if you've never felt well before. It's Good Morning Football, presented by.

The Farmer's Dog. I'm Jamie eard All.

There is Kyle Brandt, there is Peter Schrager, and there is Akwar Baja Biamila. Guys could have helped a girl out with the Baby Blue memo.

Today we all guitar heels.

We're like, well, we have the mushroom belt, mushrooms inside the jacket that has a quote from Boomerang back in the nineties. That's what we do here.

That's another thing that I'm going to miss out on. But I have the Melissa Ethard shirt on. Yes, Yes, I supported. She's the voice of our new song the Year in the morning, good Morning Football.

Let's talksin football and got the.

Tour dates on the back and it's been great. I went to a show on Friday night here in Los Angeles.

Love it.

So she's the Chiefs fan. We're in Baby Blue, which is Chargers. There's kind of a thing going on here in the West. But where are we starting NFC nort Now let's start with the Broncos.

Yeah that's right, Okay, no, no, no, it's great, Peter, it's a good idea.

It's time for the lead block, all right, mid block.

Caleb Williams step two to Mike yesterday and so that he would love to play in the Hall of Fame game Thursday night against the Texans. Was their doubt whether or not he'd want to be there, he'd be ready.

He's convinced that he is. Williams added that.

The pros outweigh the cons and playing in the preseason, he's also feeling pretty good about the start of the regular season.

I think I'm on track to be ready exactly where you know I need to be and where they want me to be. I'm excited every day I wake up.

I'm learning to some new like that car.

That's good.

That's good.

I'm glad that that's where we're at in the playbook.

The excitement level is mounting for Caleb in Chicago in a Bear's uniform. Do you think he's going to be able to fulfill the dreams the fans half for him this season?

Tommy Kyles as someone who grew up everybody talks, don't he justa like edge of your seat, the cadence, the thoughtfulness, some diferent.

About something is different.

And it's a way that he looks to the camera, looks for the reporters, and he connects. And I thought that was a good sound by that we just heard. I love the other sound. But they said, what part of your game do you feel needs to come along the most between now in week one? Take a listen, hang on to every word and watch the eyes of Caleb Williams.

Wow, my blitz, looks my blitz and covers looks and feeling the you know, the umbrella of the defense and filling that out to to adjust, you know, to to adjust protection, to adjust you know, whether it's to run flip the run, flip the you know, run into it, flip the protection, get to a quick game, get.

To a cover zero check.

However, however, the structure of it works out just just progressing and a lot of that comes with seeing it and reps. And so that's why I also, you know, preseason and you know those things are are so important.

All right, it's a it's a it's a normal answer, but ak Bar like he's answering the question, He's like, okay, blitz looks and my quick game and the reporter was probably looking for one of the give him.

A thorough thoughtful I don't.

Know if this is forever, this is early, this is That's what I was going to say. But with the one word answers.

We get for most of the course just be saying I'm just trying to get better.

Everyone's trying to get better.

The cliche that's the normal app to media training, and it sounds a little bit like this. You know, we're just going to go out there and we're gonna give it put one foot at a time. We're going to execute and you know we're going to get the ball down the field and uh, we're going to run and that's we're gonna be tough.

So the excitement level, like, I'm excited for the football. I think it's going to be interesting to see how a rookie comes out of the gates first overall, maybe the most hyped rookie since Trevor Lawrence coming out of Coton. But I like the media stuff too. I think he's different. I think he beats to his own drum and it's in a Chicago old school town. So like this class, Yeah they're excited now, but will they be excited if it doesn't you light up the world right out of the gates. Is interesting and these answers when we get these thoroughly, because I think Caleb's smart. I think Caleb is one of the first NIL babies. And what I say about that is he was making real money in college and could have stayed in college and made real money in college, and the NFL is just the next step. It's not oh all my dreams and which is and I could provide for my people. He already was. So I think that he is a unique figure in the twenty twenty fourth season and potentially beyond. But I love the way he's answering these questions and he's interacting with the media because it gives you a little window in how he's talking with his teammates and there's more to them than just a football.

Peter, you just hit on something and it was funny to me, you said, anil baby, And this is very interesting. But I think because he has a lot of that money, there's a lot of confidence that comes.

With having a little bit of money in your pocket.

And so you're sitting up there, and you're just kind of cool and easy with it. So perhaps the comfort is I have nothing to lose, like I'm stacking.

I mean, like I came into this thing, you know.

Yeah, well listen, he may have nothing to lose in some regard. It's just these Bears fans and this Bear's community. I think it's perfect that Jamie started this conversation by I mean, is Caleb ready to fulfill the dreams of Bears fans? Not like live up the hype about fulfill the dreams like Peter Menage. I'm from Chicago, Like you should see my text change. The people are imbeciles and these are my old high school friends. Like the things that they say. We had a lot of time off. And one of the movies that I watched over and over and over was Doomed Too, like the big sci fi epic and everything like that. And that's really what's going on here. If you know the movie, there's these people called the Fremen and they, you know, they live in this barren land and everything's been taken from them and they're just waiting and waiting and waiting for a savior. And that's like the Bears fans and there's false saviors and false prophets, and then there is the true Lisan al Gaib Muadib. And that's who this guy is to them. He is the guy who's going to save them. He's going to bring water to the desert, He's going to march them out of there.

He is truly the Listan al Gayib.

And it's like, as it's written, that's it's like an almost religious experience with Caleb right now. It's not just the next prospect, it's not justin fields. This feels a completely different thing. And I will just say, like you look at the week one schedule.

We'll break it down as.

We get closer, and they're the Chiefs and Ravens.

And all that.

I think the biggest game of week one, who do they play? The biggest game of Week one is Bears at home against the Titans at one pm Eastern, because that game.

Has such high stakes. These other teams.

Lose week one, it's fine, Mahomes loss, Rogers lost, whatever, we've we've seen them before. You can't come out week one of the Listan al ga Eb regime and lose to Will Levis at home because the next week they're a national team against the Texans. So like that Bears Texans, that Bears Titans game Week one, every single person in the seven seven three or the eight four to seven or the three one two is going to be praying on their knees. Please let him be good. Please let him deliver us from the desert in week one. The stakes are so high?

How dare you not hit us with a spoiler alert for Doune two before?

I mean, like, I wasn't prepared.

I'm not gonna remember any of that. All I heard was el gay ye.

Tongue of the Unseen Realms Challa may of course is that Bob Dylan and this guy asked and then hoving up Ardan is still gar as it's written, and he's gonna be in soldier field like in the tenth row as Caleb goes deep. Dudes on the first play for a touchdown, you're gonna go Bardam and the stands and got a Bears hat on with Bob swarsk as just written, and that's the way it's gonna gotten.

I don't know that. I don't know that I can follow that, but you can.

I will say this.

I think that this is gonna be a very hard one. This is like a marriage, just like you're walking into a marriage and you're sitting there and you're supposed to fulfill all the romantic dreams. And I think anyone that is married, I'm married. I can tell you right now it doesn't happen that way. But I am very excited about Haleb Williams and what he's coming into as the first pick. I mean, he wasn't the first pick because the Bears sucked. That was something that they got in a trade from the Carolina Panthers. So that means he is walking into a team that is pretty decent. He's got, of course, the veteran Keenan Allen there, He's got DJ Moore there, he's got another top ten pick with Roma doonsday.

He's walking.

I don't know and can't remember a quarterback who's walking to a situation like this in a while.

He is set up for success.

Listen to me, Ryan Thales right now should be smoking a cigar and sitting back and being like, go get him, kid, because all anybody wants to do is pick apart the Bears for what they didn't do for justin fields. They have done everything, including it was incredible. Albert Breer was on to riche Eisen and he had this report where they were allowed before the draft. The teams are allowed like two zoom sessions with each prospect or whatever.

He says.

They spent their entire zoom sessions before the draft with Caleb installing the offense, like here's what we're gonna do, here'she.

We're gonna go.

They knew that's been their guy. Like, let's not even do the get to know you. Let's start working on our third down package. That's how for paired they are. Now we just have to play.

It was never a question. I spoke to Ryan Pols throughout the draft process, like it's Caleb, if we could do Justin fieldsley, but as far as like Caleb or Jaden like it was Caleb. Now would their consideration of keeping Justin Fields?

Sure, that's what you do, that's why we do it. But they weren't taking Drake May.

It wasn't like let's bring in JJ McCarthy for a visit. He met with one team. It was them like it was done and now it's it's not like this is you know, we're the NFL. We love all thirty two Like the Bears matter, like the Chicago as a football town, and like gosh, if he can lift them and take them to new new heights, like we're talking first time in forty years they've had a quarterback that's done that. I think Jim McMahon was the last real true But everyone.

Wants to say they suck their curse. They're terrible. They never figured out.

Look at the Lions, Look at what the Lions, and Lions are ahead in the NFC title them they're great, their favorite. You would say the same things about them for thirty years. Don't tell me you can't turn it around. You can turn it around.

This is the gift from Los Angeles that is really going to pay off. I mean, we already know the dudes of ball that we saw what he did in college thirty plus touchdowns, ten rushing touchdowns and back to back seasons. And what that tells me, especially with the kind of money you talked about, I'm gonna use that one. I like that, Nil baby, nil babies coming in what confidence? There's one thing when you're coming in, you're insecure. You're coming in with no money in your pocket. You know you got all this pressure on you. You got it. I think that the confidence from having that kind of stack coming in changes the mindset of a quarterback. You can't go out there and just play. The best players out there in the league are the ones.

Who can play free.

If you can play free of any pressure, you can go out there and just.

Be I give you another little piece here. They were seven and five last year at USC. Like JJ McCarthy has never lost a game. What adversity goes into seven to five? He's crying in the sidelines. They lost all those games at the end, like Caleb for for better or worse those laws. That's real adversity in LA. Like you know, USC fans were like, what the heck? We were supposed to be Heisman Trophy winner.

They didn't do.

Much last year. So I feel like he's already dealt with some of the adversities you're going to see in rookie year. And that's bad losses when you're putting up a bunch of yards and the defense can't stop him. I think he's in a good position right now, obviously for the player personnel, but also like mentally walking into this thing that Okay, I've seen some bad things in college football I've had the transfer, I've done, I've played in different offenses. I feel like Lib's in a better place now than a lot of rookies have been going in.

Can we see that tape again of him walking across during the draft night. He's so charming in his electricity and the way he enters this new era for himself in the Chicago Bears, Peter, you're gonna be able to color in the lines here at the end of the story. But Caitlin Keller was at the Athletic.

Now she's a.

ESPN one of her first stories. Now ESPN Big Ones has been this new resurgence of what's happening to the Chicago Bears.

And it's not just Kaila Williams.

Is the fact that Matt Eberflus has a beard and a new haircut that she goes in on the fact that Eberflus's wife thought he should go shorter, and then all of a sudden he shows up with the beard and the players are like, coach, you look different way back now. Kevin Warren has the desire that every department of his in Chicago needs to be the best. And what did he do, Peter. He went out and got somebody in Kansas City to be his assistant to the president. Ted Okay, not the Senator. Okay, So Ted Cruz. Everyone would know Ted Cruz if we show this, which is he was the PR guy, the head PR guy for the Kansas City Chiefs who's escorting Patrick Mahomes around everywhere he goes. He's next to Andy Reid, He's next to Mahomes. Kevin Warren goes out and gets Ted Cruz brings to Chicago, which now is Kaylen Kller reports, is the reason why Kevin Warren even let Hard Knocks in the building for preseason because you have someone like Ted Cruz who can oversee this new messaging that eber Flus has a new vibe. Caleb Williams is coming in and that's the kind of young quarterback that you want to broadcast to the league because it feels like this is a different era.

We haven't even gotten to the Hard Knocks yet. I mean, we're going to wait and they let him in and listen, we keep saying, like we're running these clips of Caleb talking, and even while the clips is running at the table, we're just saying there's something different about him, like he has a little bit of a different cadence.

A little bit of a little Barack Obama cadence.

Well, that's up to you. You think he sounds like Obama and.

Not the deep voice, not the residence in the voice, but the cadence in which he speaks. It's very intentional. Well look, let me be Claire Malia.

You know what I mean. Thank you everybody, Thank you Obama.

It's pretty good now more than ever.

And he ends every press conference still with the Bears.

Yeah, he does the law things, the bear claw on every pace. He's not saying the Bears.

It's different.

Yeah, I know you're still knowing something about him is different. Yes, I remember one of my homes caming league. Just tell me feel different. Okay, we will be mahomes.

That's what I just said.

Tweeted out.

I see your biggest game of week one for that one o'clock there's Tires Titans. Week two, Sunday night football Texas.

There's Texas.

That's right, My goodness, Gray Shot the South, rivals of the Right. All right, still to come on our show Inside Training Camp Live is happening today around the league.

We have everybody covered.

Day two, Noon, Easter and the crew is in Philadelphia and we're going to be joined by Eagles wide receiver A J.

Brown.

Trading Camp Live come your way today at noon. But still, we have a former guest, a former co host actually of the show. You saw him with us during Super Bowl Week last year.

Josh Mantellis. Frankly, he's concerned about something.

Well, I'm sure he's probably throwing up listening to us, type Caleb Williams. The whole segment up next, though, for the first time in Los Angeles, one of our favorite segments. It's undefeated, It's we in, It's we out. Peter, what are we talking about?

We have a little New York Giants talk.

Marget speaking a part of practice.

We're good right right now.

I don't have the risk flexibility.

Good Morning Football.

What's up everybody?

Welcome back to Good Morning Football. We're here in Los Angeles and one of the segments we brought with us from New York is a segment we call we In or We Out. Now, Ochbar, this is your first time planned, so this is how this game works. I'm gonna present statement. You're gonna tell us whether you agree or disagree, you can do so, and you can go on a soliloquy if you want, or you could just say you know what, I'm out.

That's fine.

We in or we out?

And here's the first statement. Tonight is the finale of the Giants Hard Knocks off season. We have gotten to know a lot of people through this show. But the statement is this, Daniel Jones was the biggest winner of the Giants off season. Are we in or are we out? Quarterback Daniel Jones on bar What do you say?

We out? Yeah? We out? No soliloquy here?

We outw Why why you're not gonna say why? You're not going to say you can't pick anybody else.

You're just not a fan of Daniel Jones? Is that okay?

Yeah?

What can we open on that?

I didn't want to come hard on him. I'm just not a fan.

Just for corrections and attractions. A monologue is the proper term. Soliloquy is when you were by yourself on the stage and no other characters. So you want monologue, ok, direc. I don't have much of a monologue here either. I'm going to say I'm out though too. First of all, Shane children are the winners of the show. Joshan Shulden incredible, great performance in their dad's office, throwing the ball around, offering conversations. But I think the Daniel Jones part of it was like he was more of like a survivor of the summer, Like is that a win that like you didn't get hunger gamed, like you were in front of everybody you have to I don't know if Danie Jones watched the show.

I would bet every dollar I have that he didn't. It's just not how he's wired.

Not a flattering the summer for him, maybe in which they obviously aren't head over heels in love with you probably have a lot of regret. He's a winner, Peter in the sense that he's going to start Week one for the Giants. So I'll double back. I'll say yes, because there was basically an HBO infomercial about how maybe he is not the most beloved character or player in the Giants and yet he's still their starting quarterback. So that's a hell of a win. Concerning deck was decked against him, I'll.

Go yes, I'm going to go out as I'm gonna go out, because how is it that Drew Locke continues to show up in various organizations and he continues to be this character of a supporting staff. You're like, well, maybe we should consider that quarterback because he goes to Seattle after Denver and it's like Geno Smith, Drew Lock. He loses out because he I think, got sick during training camp, the job to Geno Smith.

Then he gets traded to the Giants.

They're like, well, maybe we should consider Drew Lock. I feel like I'm always there with him in terms of his potential, So I'm going out on Dalan Jones and I will please.

Consider Drew Lock.

You corrected the monologuement. I'm gonna correct you. It wasn't traded for signed my mistake, which to me is important because Tyrod Taylor was the guy they wanted. They revealed that at Good Morning on Hard Knocks, Good Morning Football. They revealed that on Hard Knocks that you know Tyrod's are number one. Tyrod was kind of burned with how things ended last year, ends up going to the crosstown rival Jets.

YEP.

They then assigned Drew Lock. Now, what I think that makes him the winner here is because they got significantly better. As you watch Hard Knocks and I watched all the episodes and tonight you'll get a look inside their draft process. It went from we would love Caleb Williams. We're not getting Kayleb Williams.

We would trade up for Jaden Daniels.

We don't have enough to trade up.

We would love to trade up to get Drake May.

We can't do that. But they chose to stick with Daniel Jones over Jaa J. McCarthy, over Michael Pennix, over bow Nicks, and then they gave him surrounding pieces. I think Malik Neighbors has been a studd in training camp so far, has been great since they got there. It's a good pick. And then they got run in Illuminur and then I like this Tyrone Tracy the running back they got and Devin Singletary. So to me, it's like he's the winner. He's a the starter and b their entire offseason was built around protecting him and giving him weapons. So I think Daniel Jones is a much better chance for success this year they did last year. I think everyone was high on him going in last year after winning the playoff game.

He was set for life. When he won that playoff Gamp against the Vikings. That is the most expensive playoff win maybe in NFL history. We got to pay him, it did.

Peter, are you in or out on the amount of appearances you made in the Giants off season?

Peter, You're in had good.

I had a good couple of runs, A couple of runs, a couple of voiceovers. It was nice and I had a chance. I would like to see him Batham again. That show the receiver, a lot of voice a lot of little more faced wants to see George Kittle. They want to see this.

They even know the origination.

I would say this though tonight's episode, and I've heard about what goes down on this thing. There were teams that called up to trade up to that six pick for the Giants, and they weighed their offers, ended up staying at neighbors. It'll be interesting to see and you'll see at home which two teams called and.

They have the footage of it. Nobody Drew Locke. Maybe you don't need to see your face, and you never see Morgan Freeman's face.

You just know James Old.

Jones, Yes exactly.

Kyle, you sneak peaked this yesterday. You're headed to Chargers camp today. You're going to sit down with Chargers new head coach Jim Harbor, who has been running around training camp wearing cleats pulling sleds. The statement is this, Kyle, you should show up in khaki pants and cleats and go through the full workout with Jim Harbor. Are we in or we out? I'm going to start with you off bar.

I would say, and that I want to see what you look like. I mean, I know your dad, but this would give you the ultimate dad look with the khaki pants.

I mean, that's what Jim Harbaugh is. H He's the ultimate dad.

But I want to see what type of athleticism is left in you, because, as you know, as you get up there in age a little bit, it starts to go down.

Did you see me enter the show yesterday and they start.

You came in. You came in.

I know, I know you got any but there's something that happens when you put on cleats. It's like it's just something that happens to the body. This muscle memory happens. And so I would love to see you go out there with the Jim harball and put on some cleat.

Okay, speed, TD guy, are your speed TD guy.

I don't know what that is.

The type of cleats like the receiver.

Cleaning shark, that's what we top shark.

That's that's like linman shoo.

You don't come on man skill position. Wait the sharks to men.

I love those sharks.

I'm out.

I'm out on this only because Harbor, I feel like, is the kind of guy that has to lead you down the path of whatever eccentricity is.

Who's going to engauge in that day.

So if you try to show up and match what he's been doing, he's going to show up in like.

A sweater vest and be like, why are you here like this?

So you go, You got to let him invite you into his world before you just show up rocking the khakis and the cleats.

Well, I think you're right.

I'm going to be out on this only, like you know, I just have no idea what to expect. I've never met him in person, I've never shaken his hand.

I've hyped him for years.

I know his career really well, but I don't know how he shows up in the beginning of a training camp at this age, at this point of his career.

Is he loose? Is the all business is you use the word eccentric.

I have scripted some questions for myself that the word eccentric is in one of my questions about himself.

You say, anyone tells him to his face. Hey, Jim, you're viewed as eccentric.

I'm going to you are yes, the questions you want to just feel the question?

Yeah, all right, So Jim, you have a very unique personality. I will even call it eccentric. The interesting thing is that John does not John is rock solid right down the middle.

So where does that come from?

That's the question.

I'll tell you where it comes. To give me notes it comes from from Mars. And when you bring the universe together and you say no, he won't meet you right where you are. Whatever you give him, he's a He's a good dude. He's a straight solid dude. But I think whatever you ask him, he'll answer straight up.

I think the viewer needs to know this. So Jim Harbor, we look at now as six year old man coaching. He's been, you know, college champion. He wanted ackbar. His first job was with the two thousand and three Raiders as a quality control coach. When he retired, one of the players on that team was you? What was young Jim Harbaugh the coach.

Like he was fiery, he was always hyping everybody up. He was the coach that everybody liked to hang around come talk to. For me, he was the guy that I played with on techmobiles. I'm like, Yoda, that's kind of a Jim Harball, you know what I mean. But I loved his personality. But I just feel like he's always engaging and he's him. And I think that's the one thing players respect about any coach is that you're you. You're not somebody else you've seen coaches. And I had this, and I don't mean to call him out, but I remember Cam Cameron when I left the Chargers and went over to the Dolphins, and what I felt like Cam Cameron was trying to be was similar to Marty Schottenheimer because it was his first head coaching job in the NFL and he was trying to figure out who he was.

And I was like, man, he's trying to be Marty.

And everyone in the locker room could see that, and they don't buy in, you know what I mean. They can't commit to it because they know it's not you. Jim Hallball is like what you see is what you get, you know what I mean? He spoke to my son's Pop Warner football team and he was giving stuff out of the day and the kids were like this, like what is going kind?

But you know what?

They all yeah, like that you feel like you just want to run through a brick wall for room because he's him.

That what is going on moment?

I feel like I can to hit that this afternoon in mid conversation and I hope I do I want to be Do.

You have a wardrobe selection that is at standard?

See, I don't have a relationship with him. I don't know if you know I get I show up in the cats and the cleats. He's like, who's this jacket? What I got practice to get to?

Peter?

You're the historian. I will give you.

I saw that twenty American dollars.

If you can tell me Saved by the Bell No.

He wasn't a saber Bellus. If you can tell me the final NFL team that Jim Harbaugh played for in the final season of his career, twenty dollars on the line.

Who did he play for?

I have a vague memory.

Oh my god, this is this is expensive.

If a vague memory go on of a young Eric Zier going down with an injury and Jim Harbaugh coming in for the Baltimore Ravens.

The final team that Jim Harbaugh played for in two thousand and one was the Carolina Panthers. I have no recollection, do I? He was a Panther. That's what Peter. I can stump you.

I can stump anybody.

Oh, that's it.

He was a Panther. Crazy career, incredible life. Let's talk about you.

Saved that twenty I'll put it back.

In your pocket.

La.

He's going to get me home in my uber X today exactly.

He's a Michigan Wolverine. He is now a Minnesota Viking.

But most importantly on his resume, he Monts co hosted Good Morning Football. Up about Josh can tell us good morning, Josh, how are.

Your good morning?

Good?

Wait, first Kyle got to ask, man, are you okay?

I know you might be a.

Little So you did how I started Good Morning Football, New regime, new era.

You know what it is, Josh? You know how like in football sometimes when you get that first hit, it like wakes you up, you know, like now I'm ready to play.

That's how I am as the TV guy.

It's got to get popped a couple of times and then I'm ready to broadcast.

So I feel greatly through the roof.

I'm usually had to see you. Good to see you guys.

Thank you, Josh.

What did you do when you saw it?

Because you put this on Instagram immediately when you saw Kyle eat it, and you've done the show, so you can appreciate what.

That meant in that moment.

I honestly thought it was just part of the skit until I seen his mic falling off and I was like, oh no, he really fell this was this was real.

So I immediately just wanted to.

Check on him. But I know you guys are so I was like, I'll just wait till you guys are done with the show. But I've seen his energy. I've seen the adrenaline pumping through his vein, so I knew he was OK.

I love you, man, Thank you. Everybody always thinks I'm doing a skit.

Shnon yeah, Rachel Drafts, I'm just being funny, all right.

This is might.

We love Josh though, because he's like inside baseball and everything that he does, like he hosts the show for three days and he's like, I saw your mic was calling off and I can appreciate that.

So, Josh, you're heading into year five.

You are now moving from the category of youth player too, You're a no more veteran status. So how's Cam going? Are you getting any VET days?

What's going on?

No vet days yet?

But Cam's going great. I've been really leaning on the younger guys, you know, trying to bring him along.

We got a good.

Group and I'm just excited to see, you know, what everybody's gonna do this season. Obviously, you know, we got guys just got drafted. We got some guys we just brought onto the team. So it's all about, you know, gelling that connection together to move forward.

For week one? What do you got here?

I'm looking at I'm looking at John, look at that Vikings logo, and I'm wondering, what's the situation at quarterback. I know you're the defensive player and you play every position, and you also probably play sixteen positions on offense. Mister Swiss Army, we love you, But here's a fellow Michigan man gets drafted and yet it seems like it's Sam Donald's team, but Sam's only got that one year contract.

You're there.

What are we seeing from Donald, what do we see from McCarthy, and what is your assessment of the quarterback position so far?

I would say it's a great competition. You know, you got two guys in different points in their career, and you got two competitors, and it's just been great to see, you know, both of them approach the game how they've been approaching it. They're very competitive, very elite in terms of poise, and I think, you know, they're just getting each other better and they're going to make that whole room better.

Obviously, it's still early.

We just put the pads on for the first time yesterday, so it Dore's a lot of work to be done, but I'm excited to see what they do, especially JJ in these preseason games, you know, getting his first NFL game under his belt.

Josh, you know, I gotta say, I love your game. I got to ask, when you have a dog like Justin Jefferson in camp that raises everybody's game for you, how's that elevated your game?

How have you taken your game?

How have you grown having a guy like justin Jefferson on the other side.

Oh man, he's great.

Man.

I think what I always tell the rookies when he comes, when he comes in, when they come in, is that anytime you line up with him, he's trying to embarrass you, and he takes that. He takes that to heart. You know, he never wants to lose a rep. So anytime you line up against him, you have to bring your A game because he's going to get you better because he he wants, he wants to big play, he wants to crowd cheer in, he wants to literally embarrass you out on the practice field. So when you when you go against him, you have to be on your A game. So over these past five years, man, he's just been helping become such a better player, you know, just treating practice like a game. So whatever when the game comes, you know, I don't see a better receiver than him.

Now, has he tested you like, I mean, has he personally tested you like, yo, I'm about to show you up today, like's what's good?

Oh yeah, yeah, of course, of course. You know me, I'm a big competitor and I like to talk a lot, especially on that field. So yeah, you know, we get on each other a little bit, but you know, it's all about, you know, making each other better.

Okay, Josh, did did you watch him on receiver? And also, what did you make of this? There is this reaction where he lives in this one bedroom condo even though he signed this massive contract and everyone was all aghast.

That seemed like a smart thing to do. What was your takeaway?

Yeah, that's just who he is, man.

People.

He's been in that house since rookie year, so that's just who he is as a person. You know, he wants to just be that guy on the field. You know, the off the field stuff doesn't really matter to him as much. You know, he's really close with his family, and if he can spend time with his family off the field and play like he does on the field, I think he'll be perfectly fine. I was honestly surprised too when I seen his house for the first time, because I live not too far from him, so you know, I was surprised, like, you sure, this is his house. But yeah, man, that's just the type of guy he is. He's not really caught up in the materialistic stuff, even though it looks like it, because he's always you know, got everything on. He has his chains on, his Louis Vauton Fitz. But you know when it comes down to, you know, just him being who he is. You know, he's not that big flashy guy.

You know where he invested is in his candy cabinet. If when he opened it it's like you don't need Yeah, I was like, wait, I need to see what's in there.

That's fantastic.

So Josh a lot with that.

Yeah, exactly. We saw Kirk.

Cousins on quarterback last season. Now Jefferson's been on wide receiver. When are you going to get the camera cruise to buy into DB's on Netflix and make a case for why you should be a part of it.

I think if they did anything on the defense, I'll be a great candidate. I mean I played every position on defense, so they wanted to do defenders, they wanted to do linebackers.

I could make a case for it.

I think my position, especially you know Flora's coaching us is a very peculiar, is a very very interesting position. You know that they'll get to see the ins and out of what I really do and just you know, my day.

To day life.

I'm a big family man, and uh, you know the way I play on the field, you know, I'm really different off the field. I'm a big aggressive guys you can see in these highlights, but you know, off the field, you know, I'm a cuddle bug with my family. I'm a big family guy. So I think it would just be great to just see me on and off the field and see what I bring for the team really quickly.

Josh, you've been a co host of the art program. We love you in studio. We're going to have you in studio out here. Kyle, our co host here in our colleague is going to interview your former college coach, Jim Harball later today. What it is One thing that Kyle needs to know about Harves.

One thing you need to know about him if you're is he going to be in person?

Yeah, that's important.

Try to try to look him in the eye as long as possible.

I want you to feel that he has a he has a thing that he does when you when you look him in the eye too long, he'll probably not look at you in the eye. I don't know if it's like a quirk or what, but yeah, I want you to do that to him, and I just want to see how.

You feel after, See how you feel after.

I was sitting here all day with you.

Coach, You don't make that interview uncomfortable for him?

Is that some of the best interview advice?

That's great. I'm not going to blink the whole time. Please don't please.

I can't wait to see it.

Josh mittelis he's a Viking safety, blah blah blah, you played at Michigan whatever.

He was a former co host gm B. This is heavywey.

I know that was an awesome couple of days.

We can't wait to have you back.

And uh, you know, we'll make sure we chop it up. But we appreciate you so much coming on day two and checking on your guy here, Kyle Brant.

I got it, gosh, appreciate he's done.

All right, Thank you guy.

Come on, Good Morning Football.

We're gonna check in around the league at different training camps. And of course what is going on with Borrow's hair?

And did thank you? I like it too. I like it too terrible? Are you just zagging to ze?

It just looks really bad.

Look at it.

It looks he.

Looks like, what's fine, It's fine.

I'm looking at Jake Brown and he looks great.

Yeah, Good morning Football.

Welcome back to Good Morning Football presented by Farmer's Dog. I'm Sherry Burs from our new home here in Los Angeles. Dolphins quarterback to a tongue of I Loo was signing his massive four year, two hundred and.

Twelve million dollar deal, which was.

Him among the highest paid qbs in the league, but he told Rerht Lewis and Cam wolf On inside training camp his goal is to get Miami their first playoff win since two thousand.

This is a team sport.

If we want to do what we want to do, it requires everybody to be on the same page to do the same thing in you know, being connected like an accordion like you know, and so it only works when everything's in sync. And so I think that's where the main focus is is with our guys up front, with our guys outside, and all of us being on the same page. The communication aspect is, you know, I think the biggest thing that we need to work on offensively, especially on these road games, these big road games, the communication with our motions where we need to line up looking at the clock, do we have time to change protection, do we have time to do this?

Do we have time to do that?

Just all of that is sort of what I think about the details of it.

Meanwhile, Cheez running back Aiapa Checko is famously known for his angry runs, although he's he had to take home a scepter, but we know he runs hard.

But as Stacy Dale's and Tom Pellisero.

Found out, but Checko's working on another aspect of his game.

Listen, I've always.

Been amazed watching you as a because you're not the biggest running back in the league, but you play with this inherent violence in your game.

Where does that come from?

And how much do you also want to be showing the speed moving forward here?

Absolutely?

It comes from the willingness to be unsatisfied. Just finding things that get better at daily day basis pinpoint of details, and for us, that's what we do in the meeting room and bringing it out here on the field, showing the coaches what you got and leaving it on tape so when we go back, you know that that's the finish that we want and that's what it takes to get to the championship.

Are you really feeling faster?

Absolutely?

Well, a faster for checko already with his Angry Runs. Kyle, I feel like those are one and two there on your checklist.

Maybe he'll get a sceptor the season.

We'll have to see.

Well, you're right here. There's a great disturbance in the Angry Runs world, and that disturbances that Isaiah Pichecko has never won the Angry Runs, especially since if you follow it closely, and I know a lot of you do, one of the times he was really a kind of a shoe in to win it. We gave the scepter to Kenny the Jet Smith, who is a basketball analyst and who ran over Shack on the set. So Chiefs fans weren't happy about that, and I get it. I want him to win. It is this thing you're just waiting and waiting for it. We'll get there at some point, especially if he's running faster. I do think it's funny that Isaiah Pachecko is running faster now because if you were to go to like a speed coach or something and watch him run, the first thing the speed coachman says, we need to stop kicking the ground when you run. Don't run like that, and will probably drop three tenths. But that's just how he goes. He kicks the ground, he hates the ground, he hates tacklers, and if he continues to do at some point we'll give him the sceptor.

I'm actually glad we sent the Scepter two inside the NBA before it goes off the air.

Now, oh godn't it belongs to he knocked Shack into Christmas Tree and we gave it to Kennedy the jet But it was probably not the best decision we've ever made.

Chiefs fans, I can see it.

Can I make a suggestion?

Yeah?

Because I love Isaiah Pachecko and the way he works, I would say that he just like Jerry West. Rest in Peace was the logo of the NBA, Isaiah Pacheco should be the logo for Angry Runs. I mean, the dude he epitomizes that his game is the absolute best.

I just love the way he played.

I do too.

I've always said, when the Isaiah pa Checko Anger Run happens, we are going to know we're going to there will be no doubt, There'll be no debate, It'll just be canceled everything, And everyone.

Says, how is he not? How is he not?

You know?

He has this.

Style on this mentality that's fantastic.

But the fact is to win, Aggie runs, you have to.

Have the perfect optics where the players there you run them over.

He doesn't do that all the time. He just you can tell he's playing well.

He's a buck twenty five. I mean maybe forty five of buck forty five.

I like that.

Listen.

Sometimes you just get beat. You know, La Confidence was Dona win Best Pictures Hell of the film. Sometimes you just get beat. I think this year is the year we'll end. Then we will se exceptor because you know why football is back.

Football is back.

Hey, we are back on Good morning football. Look at this, Look at this pride and joy of good morning football.

I have to go up here and talk to Julie per personally. Okay, she said this.

To all of us, but it kind of went to me for something really happy about it. Can't stop thinking about how proud I am.

Of my eight year old who win. My alarm went off to remind me that it was July twenty ninth. It meant that we were back back, and I said, oh mg, is back. She knew the studio was done. Must be doing something right.

Julie We appreciate you, We appreciate your daughter.

We love being back the studio. It was already done.

We just kind of gmfb a fight it and that's what we're trying to do by jumping around the stairs or whatever. We like our fancy digs in Los Angeles.

And we appreciate Julie.

We do appreciate Julian, the entire Jaeger family. I love it. I love you do you love them both? I love the set we have. We have this, we have this little table in this giant set. It's like Hawaii and the Pacific Ocean. But we're sitting here at beachfront property.

It feels awesome.

There's there's these three chairs behind us, pumpy chairs.

They call it the cop RT.

I don't know the comps, the Comfea.

Chairs, the company.

Yeah, we haven't utilized those.

Yeah, that's for our OPRAH moment. When we have our Oprah moment, then we get you know, the guests in here. We sit down and we ask some real hard hitting questions.

You know, Peter's going to jump up on the couch and who fair enough to be the same Peter Teaser.

Actually, in the next out work, you are going to be in one of those chairs. Three gentlemen have a segments to talk.

About video games, which we really thrilled about. All right, we appreciate that. Love.

Speaking of love, Aaron Rodgers is in his off season trying to play real estate agent for his home that still hasn't sold in Green Bay.

Take a list of this clip and then we're going to.

Respond to it.

Well, first of all, since you mentioned it, I want to give a shout out to Jordan Love becoming the highest. There you go, Love, don't spend it on one place, but if you do, I still have Alison Green Bay that's for sale.

Hey, rod I won't be buying your house, man, but I'll go check on it.

Make sure we'll take care of I mean, if you want to me up.

With a deal like you said, yeah, home the hometown discountown discount.

That's awesome.

That's awesome.

Thoughts on the fact that Rogers, First of all, why isn't his house sold?

It's Green Bay.

People can't afford it.

Have you seen the mortgage rates? Yeah? I have the cold Well Banker agent who gets the Rogers house Patty something or how quickly does she tell a perspective buyer that this is Aaron Rodgers house right out of the.

Well in Green Bay.

Everybody knows, like he lives right around the corner from my brother who still lives there, and you walk straight to his house and go, oh, yeah, that's Aaron Rodgers.

Thanks, but I liked it.

Rogers in that clip has an I'm kidding but not really vibe. It's clearly a pain in his butt that he hasn't sold that house. He's like, honestly, Jay Love, like, if you can, you please take it off my hands.

Like he's not joking, sell the house.

I mean the market of people who can afford and live like it's one that's hit. That's the guy who can afford it, and like do it.

Like Rogers looks big in Green Bay. I feel like that's like you want to go to Wisconsin in the summer. You've got a lot of money now, Lauren.

Send to you guys, great summer babies at the house before the bipe the pipe's bust because the.

Water sitting there through this nightmare.

I actually think it sounds like a great segment. We should get in touch with Rogers. We should rent it as an airbnb into a week of shows from.

Rogers his Castle, Green Bay.

All right, Michael Davies, David Jorenka, I just think I'm just thrown out at Angela LS.

Someone put that off.

Wait.

Wait, the draft is in Green Bay next spring.

Rota, Okay, good, okay,
