This is the single most colorful TV studio I've ever seen. I love what you've done with the place. You got so much room here for activities around the room.
Hey, you're get.
Up in You're fresh off your private jet, right right into the studio.
Right, Yes, something along those lines.
Acbar got a tell about twelve fifteen, got a little howered Napski, and here we are ready to do some TV.
And never fear those the cold followers of the Insiders. Tom will be on that show later today too. It's not like he comes in town and we just poach him on GMFB. No, No, you're working the double shift today.
That's right, So four pm Pacific, seven pm Eastern. I'll still be here.
I'm in a different studio that was someplace else here, but I'm looking forward to it.
This is fun, gret seen you guys, let's do it.
Does it feel like there is a close to a chapter of something we have been talking about a lot here, Let's get into it.
This is the lead block.
After a month start being in the pole position, Russell Wilson was officially named the Stealers starting quarterback yesterday.
We're gonna hear from their head.
Coach Mike Tomlin on the decision and why Russell Wilson is the guy.
I met with both quarterbacks here just a few minutes ago after practice and I informed them that Russ is QB one going into Week one. It was a difficult decision, but not difficult in a negative way, to be quite honest with you. It was difficult in a positive way. The decision was difficult because of what they're capable of doing.
One.
Decision was difficult because of how they have conducted themselves as opposed to the things that they fall shorty in in terms of capabilities or negative conduct.
Yeah, you know, listen, I think I came here to be a Pittsburgh here to help us win another Super Bowl.
I mean, that's that's the bottom line. That's that's the focus. You know, I'm not going to shurecut it.
You know, it's you know, I believe in this football team.
You know, we believe in each other, and we got to do the work.
And that's that's just what it is. And so I'm excited about it.
Man, I'm excited about the challenge. I look forward to, I look forward to the obstacles ahead and let's let's get.
Ready to play the football.
Leave it to Mike Tomlin to, I think, pick the perfect word to describe how this decision went down, and frankly, how our conversations have been going. Which is which which quarterback is most capable to do this job? Tom, I'm sure you've been tapped into not only really the opinions of people locally in Pittsburgh, but also then the narrative that grew as Justin Field's played mostly in the preseason. How did Mike Tomalin get here? What do you think about this decision?
Well, I would go back to the night that the news broke of the Justin Fields trade, which remember that followed a very unique sequence of events where Russell Wilson announces on his social media that he's signing with the Steelers. Kenny Pickett basically finds out at that time, Hey, Russ is coming in. Pickett thinks he's going to get a chance to compete. Then Mike Tomlin tells him, hey, no, Russ is in the pole position. Pickett says, you know what, I think, I want to go someplace else. That's what led to the Justin Fields trade, which broke on a Saturday night at the end of free agency week. I was out to dinner because you know, sometimes you have to go out of your life at Actually I've been informed by my wife that I was at dinner that night. She will tell you I was not really there, however, so immediately Ian Revboord tweets that news. I get on my phone and I tweet out this from a very plug being source on exactly what the situation was, which is is it a competition between Russell Wilson Justin Fields. The exact text I got back was, Russ is the start. That's March okay, that is March sixteenth. At that point was it was very apparent that this is going to be a situation where Russell Wilson was gonna have to lose the job or Justin Fields was going to have to do something incredible to get the job. How does Mike Tomlin want to win football games? He wants to run the football and play great defense. Get a guy in whose experience, and once Mike Tomlin or the Steelers in general commit to a plan, generally.
Speaking, they sick with it.
That's a good way to put it.
I liked that we've spent maybe a three dozen segments debating this quarterback controversy.
Pelis comes in five seconds. He's like, this was never a thing. Guys, you've been talking about nonsense. You could reference my tweet from months ago. You've been wasting your time. Tom. That's a power move by you.
I'm glad we have an answer in this because we don't have to do any more segments debating it. I thought, guys, I thought we were going to slay another demon when Gerrod Meyo was going to tell us the Patriots quarterback. But he's like, I know, I'm just not telling you. And that was all kinds of fun. Thank you for that one, coach. And this is a weird quarterback competition, even though Tom to think it was. I actually I did think it was because the wild card was that Russell Wilson started camp injured, and Justin Fields is really athletic and impressive and kind of seductive to a training camp. But it's almost like it came down really on the field to one throw. One throw in the last preseason game that they played, Russ was not out there at all.
Look at the throw.
This was a fantastic throw to the near sideline, across his body and this is like, oh Man, clean pocket, step up, deliver pick in sideline, got.
It absolutely beautiful.
Sometimes you can lose the job with one play, and I think we saw no Colin through that for the Raiders when you threw a pick six. I think sometimes you can win a job with one throw, especially when you have the resume.
I'll be at a distant resume for Russell Wilson.
I was on a record from the get go that I really thought Justin Field's was going to steal this job.
I was wrong. Mike Tomlin knows.
This is an interesting one though, because as we said many times, Russell Wilson has no equity with the Steelers, he has no equity with Steelers fans.
I think he needs to win quickly or it gets ugly.
He starts week one, I think Justin Field is looming and speaking of looming, oc Bar, is it just me or is there something different about your smile this morning, or like the shine off that head of yours. I feel like you've got something here to say about this topic.
You have a different glow this morning. Oh well, thank you. I appreciate it.
I thought it was the fact that I got nine hours of sleep, but you're telling me it.
Wow. I lied.
That's total cap right there. But there is a shine because I think, if you know, you've been following kind of my sentiment and my feelings about this. I've been very strong on the fact that this was Russell Wilson's job and you guys are just getting to know me. One of the things you guys may not know about me is that I'm a very big Michael Jackson fan.
Guess what, Okay?
Today is Michael Jackson's birthday, and how great is it that I nailed this with Russell Wilson and we get to celebrate Michael Jackson's birthday on the day that Russell Wilson is named the Starter. So I figured I do a little something different for you guys today. We're going to celebrate in a big way. Oh, I'm headed over there, right over here. Can I get a jacket?
Please? All right? Yeah, we're going.
Right here, right there. Please, gloves, thank you so much. I've got my glove here. I bought this. Now I will say that I got this from my son's room and I did not try it on. Okay, that's all right, and the glove is not you, tom Guess what? But I won't quit on this one. Here we go, let's roll it. The reason why we're celebrating this is because Russell Wilson.
Has been a thriller.
His de mind has been greatly exaggerated. So we'd be Russell Wilson on that one. But I want to tell you the real reason why Mike Tomlin decided that he wanted to play Russell Wilson, to have him as the starter, because he's danger Russian danger, Russian man.
Change.
This is it right here? I love it. I love it for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But my last point on this was Mike Tomlin. Mike Tomlin knew that his legacy is on the line, so he had to do none other than look at the.
Man in the mirror. Where is it? Where is it, show him, show him we don't have it. We don't have it.
But he had to look at the man in the mirror. That's my point on it. I think I should wear this for the rest of the A Bloc. I think I'm gonna wear it now it doesn't fit.
But oh, what if Russell Wilson is bad?
Nice? I like that. I like that, I like that was wrong he's that? What if he is bad?
Oh, now you're going to be starting something. You're going to be starting something. I think we would probably end up they'll probably end up starting justin Fhills is probably what they'll end up starting.
How fast could that happen? I wonder?
I think that.
Listen, it's not just looking at the man in the mirror. It's it's asking him to change his ways, you know what I'm saying, Like, there's a whole.
Second part of that. But ackbar what I love what you did there? And I'm dead serious.
You could have easily just gone back to the vault and shown a bunch of vinches Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks highlights. That's Denver Russell Wilson. That used to be made the point that's that's recent Russell Wilson. Now, I don't know if if Sean Payton is laughing like Vincent Price at the end of the video, but like we'll find out. This year he got the starting job he wanted. He won the starting job for the Steelers. Unequivocally.
Yeah, he was a top ten Russian quarterback lash last year, the last couple of years with the Denver Broncos. People forget about that. They think, Oh, Russell Wilson's getting older. Yes, he's getting older, but he's still making things happen.
Tom is I don't even want to say it's a glove on.
Tom.
Let's go pretty sure.
What made you been in here?
If it's Tom hand?
Okay?
Now, actually no, there's something wrong in the glove. There we go.
My son's got it on.
Oh I would say this with Mike Tomlin. He's pound ways to win with everybody he's ever had a quarterback. Essentially, this is going to be a very unique type of a situation, different vibe, different type of a dynamic here. I mean fast to see how it plays out a park.
Good job.
I can't take it seriously with that glove on, Tom, you know who I can't take seriously in a moment like this, is that we have now found out who the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback is. We're going to Ian Rapaport now because the New England Patriots finally and Girod Mayo sounds like they have made their decision at QB one.
They have.
Sources say Gid Mayo has just informed players in a team meeting that Jacoby Brissett is their starting quarterback to begin the twenty twenty four season. That means that Drake may the number three overall pick, who everyone in New England believes is a big time part of the future their franchise quarterback, will begin this season as a backup. Now, Jordd Mayo has said to me with the media in a couple of minutes while likely explain more about his decision, but there's so many factors that go into making preset the starter to begin with. Now, First of all, we talked to Jacoby Brissett in August and he was very clear that he believes he is the starter. He believes he's the right man not just to mentor Drake Mann the other young quarterbacks, but to be the starter of this team.
And then there's so much.
This team is still trying to figure out so much. They're trying to get together the offensive line, what kind of weapons do they have? How proficient are they going to be on offense?
It's a lot.
And if you put a rookie out there right away when he might be ready and for sure he has shown plenty plenty of flashes in preseason games and in training camp, they are clear this is the guy. But if we put him out too early, there might be a risk of maybe doing something to force him to kind of go backwards in his development. Patriots are not going to do that. So it is going to be Jacoby Brissett, who saw to be a bridge starter.
In New England.
He is now starting the twenty twenty four season.
Yeah, it was back in early August raps sheet, thank you that Jacoby Brissett was on ITC with Scott Pully. He said, I want to mentor Drake May, but I am going to fight for this starting job. I want it to be mine for the time that I am here. So Tom now a different similar question to what's happening in Pittsburgh, which is how long does this scenario go on for Jacoby Brissett and was it always his job and Drake May was going to have to do something more than he showed.
He got some mixed signals from Drod Mayo in recent days where on one hand he's saying that Drake May is clearly the second best quarterback on the roster, and then the next day says Drake May outplayed Jacoby Brisset. Here's the translation as I can best understand it. We all can watch the games and see what Drake May is doing. You can see the athletic ability, you can see the arm you can see all the potential. But their plan, their process always going along, was going to be make sure that Drake May hits the field at the right time.
They've got an offensive line.
That's had various stages of uppeaval and they're still trying to get that settled. As IIan mentioned here, the wide receivers, you don't necessarily have a true number one, maybe not even a true number two type of a guy. So what's the best environment to put the rookie out there? With Jacoby Brissett, He's been there before. He can operate the offense, he can get you into the right place. Ackbard break May's time is coming. It might be coming sooner than later, but to me, not a surprise at all. The Jacoby prest, regardless how the preseason looked, starts out of the gates.
Qple, Well, I think it's interesting what you're saying. You know, maybe at some point, but if it's at some point during the season, why not now is the question. And there's been a lot of talk about this offensive line and what this offensive.
Line is going to say.
Hey, Jacoby, in a nice way, they're saying, Jacoby Brissett is a bridge.
That's an insult.
First off, is a bridge quarterback saying this is the guy that we want, but that offensive line is bad. So if the offensive line is bad, we just don't want you to be the crash quarterback dummy, just get hit, get sacked. I mean, if you look at it, that's right, eighteen and thirty.
I mean paid qu a bitte to do those things.
I mean, if I'm a quarterback, I don't know how I feel about that. But I mean he's been eighteen and thirty in his career, Like, I mean, that's not an impressive winning number. The last start he had was in twenty twenty two, so I don't know I mean, I just say, look, take the training wheels off, put your guy in there. Like there's only two ways the thing is going to go. Either he's gonna tank or he's gonna rise. And I believe that Drake May would would rise.
Listen, you guys are right right there. Drake May won the job. The Pats offensive line lost it for him.
He played much better. He's the best player.
And there's closed door meetings in the Patriots organization are like, you can't put this.
Guy out there. It's a joke.
It's not just you know, Tom's more eloquent than me. Tom says the offensive line has gone through various stages of upheaval, and he's rights. The offensive line committed ten penalties in the last preseason game in the tune up, so to speak. And that's not to mention almost got Jacobi Brissett injured in the preseason game in five seconds.
This is you're right, ockbar o quit.
He's like, Jacoby, get out there, try to run the offense, and man, try to stay up right.
It's it's like stand there in front of the bill.
It's like Johnny Knoxville, like, go ahead and hit me with the bull for laughs.
That's what it's gonna be. It's that bad.
And this is like not to mention the Pats are gonna be behind. Their best offensive player was traded. Their other best defensive player is not with the team because of health reasons.
They're gonna behind.
They're gonna throw like I don't want Drake May within a square mile of the starting job of that's the offensive line, because he's the future and if he can't stand up right, they don't have one.
He won the job, the on line lost it. They're bad.
I think this is also an important note here, which is think of while you learn from past mistakes. Right twenty twenty one, they put mac Jones out there immediately. Mac Jones actually played pretty well. But these are organizational types of decisions. Who now is part of those conversations. Elliott Wolf is the director of Scout. He's essentially the GM. He came from green Bay. You got Alex van Pell, who's the offensive coordinator, was in Green Bay. Alonzo Highsmith's in the front office. From green Bay. Their organizational philosophy has been get the guy in, give him time to learn. That's the best way to bring him along. It is a change from the Bill Belichick way of doing things. Here, you're seeing that it's stamped in a variety of different ways. Quarterback decisions certainly one of them.
That is good perspective to have. You know who else has perspective in the NFL? Marcedes Lewis. Do you guys know this guy comes back for season number nineteen?
Kyle?
Are you opening up the.
History book for us?
Yeah? This is incredible.
We have to take a moment to pay homage to Marsides Lewis, what he's done.
Do you know what the league was like when he answered it?
Do you know what the world was like?
I may have some surprise questions for you guys. We have to reflect on Marceides. I got all kinds of things to say about this. And it's very very late August. If you haven't had your fantasy draft yet.
You're going too soon. We're going to momentarily with.
A little Good Morning Football twist. We are almost on the clock. Get ready, we're nervous, we're fired up. Good Morning football on a Thursday, I don't go anywhere, all right, welcome back. We are on Good Morning Football on Thursday morning. The NFL kickoff is exactly in one week, and we want to take a minute, in fact a few minutes to pay respect to someone who's been around for a lot of NFL kickoffs. We want to pay huge respect to Marcedes Alexis Lewis, tight end for the Chicago Bears aka the Big Dogs. Marcedes Lewis is forty years old and he just made the Bears final fifty three roster to begin his nineteenth season in the NFL.
Let's give a little perspective to that. He is the longest career for a tight.
End in NFL history.
According to NFL research, Jason Witten Tony Gonzalez both did seventeen seasons. The Big Dog is up to nineteen seasons. The only player in the league older than him is the guy who just threw that ball, Aaron Rodgers.
By a matter of months.
He's the second oldest player in the entire NFL that includes kickers and specialists.
And what's so.
Interesting about Marcedes' ability to hang in is that this.
Is what's incredible about it.
That is Calvin Johnson, Drell Reeves, Joe Thomas, and Patrick Willis.
All of those guys entered.
The league, retired and were inducted in the Hall of Fame in the whole time that Marcedes Lewis was playing. That happened in the entire span of Marcedes lewis career. All four of those guys came in, played, retired, inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Thank you with WTF stats.
The other thing it's amazing is that the last and only season that Marceides Lewis even had fifty catches fifty receptions was fourteen years ago. His final year with the Packers, he had six. Last year with the Bears, he had four on five targets.
That's it. Four catches all year.
But what he brings to the locker room and to the hut own he's a great blocker, and he's big and it occasionally he'll catch your red zone touchdown.
They bring him back, they want him back.
On the final fifty three I mentioned the Hall of Fame careers, it's an incredible thing. We also looked into as a tribute to his longevity. When Marcedes entered the league out of UCLA via poll, who is the oldest teammate he had in the locker room?
Who is the oldest guy he played with?
Bring it up his rookie year, he played with this dude, Kyle Brady, a fellow tight end.
So Kyle Brady has.
Been retired for seventeen years and Marcedes played with him. Kyle Brady was born in nineteen seventy two, that's close.
To the sixties, and Marcedes played with him.
This is the ninety five draft when this guy came into the league and Marcedes played with him, and he's still playing. We're at the point where Marcedes Lewis lasts longer than a Mercedes Benz, even a top quality when it doesn't matter. We're almost twenty years in and just till we want to give it a little GMF be twist. I want to involve you guys and showing our respect for the big dog. And I have some kind of which happened. First questions for you going to start off, will go around the table. You can take a guess, all right, okay, what is older?
Older? Right now?
Marcedes Lewis NFL career or the Nintendo Wii system Wii, which is older the Nintendo.
We are Mercedes Lewis, NFL career. What do you think? Go round quickly.
I'm going to start this one.
I'm going to go the Wei is the Nintendo w is older.
I think it's Marcedes. I didn't get a Wii until like twenty ten ish.
Yeah, I'm going to go Marcedes as well, but I think it's pretty close.
The WE has been around forever, and Marcedes career is longer.
Sorry, Nintendo. WE Marcedes is longer.
It came out halfway through Marcedes rookie year. It needed a lot of batteries, there were connectivity issues. It was fun to have it in your hand and play golf and bowling. But Marcedes lewis career is older.
Number two. What happened first?
Vince Young beat USC in the Rose Bowl? Or marseies Sades Lewis entered the National Football League?
Which happened first?
That would be the USC Texas game or Vince Young.
Yeah, I think Marcedes came into the league first.
I think it's Vince Young. I want to say he was the five Rookie of the Year, Kyle.
Vince Young beat USC first. You are correct, of course, this was a massive deal. Unfortunately, when this happened, Marcedes and UCLA had just beaten the snot out of Northwestern.
In the Sun Bowl.
He would be drafted about four months later, so Vince Young beat USC and UCLA in a sense in one fell swoop four months before, but the last one. Here's the money question. This is final Marcedes jeopardy. What is older?
My friends?
Marcedes lewis NFL career or Taylor Swift's first studio album?
Which is older?
My kids might be right to miss at home and this is going to be problematic.
I guess, so I want to make sure we understand the question correctly. Are you saying that Taylor Swift's first studio album came out before Marcedes lose under the league? Is that how it's being freezed?
Which is older?
The album or Marcedes career? We don't need to split hand. We go Mercedes. That's a clean sweep. We want our money, give it to us.
Marcedes Lewis's NFL career is older than Taylor Swift's first album.
There she is with a surfboard. Here's the deal. This is actually a few years later.
Her first studio album came out as Marcedes had just lost to the Texans in two thousand and six, October twenty fourth. The album Jamie, correct me if I'm right, I don't have being research. I think it's just called Taylor Swift. I think it has Tim McGraw.
Is that right, Yes, that's correct. That is correct.
First one, that is correct.
I just look at you know what, Marcedes has been around longer than Taylor Swift. The we Vince young Taylor Swift, and he's still doing it.
See you for season number twenty, big dog. I love it.
I just cross checked this to make sure that I'm correct on it. Mercedes Lewis was the oldest player on the twenty seventeen Jaguars team that almost went to the Super Bowl with Blake Bortles at quarterback, Hiven Paul puzz lusny Ah, the two guys were at that point. He played twelve years for the Jaguars and that was going into his seventh year since the.
Jaguars Blake Lortles haven't heard that name in a while out of UCF's But the.
Fact that he was the oldest player on a team how many years ago.
Yeah, that's seven years, seventy years ago.
He was the oldest guy on a roster and he's still playing.
Shout out to Marcedes Lewis. That really is a remarkable career. That's very very hard to do. That's really cool. At that position as well.
Yeah, not just like the physicality of it, but like the brain drain of training camp and off in the brain drain.
This real thing.
Mercedes Lewis, Kyle in only Kyle Brent fashion. Take us through some Marcedes Lewis highlights here.
Well, you know what's crazy about it is nineteen years. But he's not one of these guys with you know, seven different teams.
It was just Jags, Packers and Bears.
That's it.
He sticks around, He's completely beloved, and he doesn't catch the ball really ever, and yet he deserves a spot on the fifty three.
I can bring the twenty three seasons. I cannot wait to watch him next year. Marceides go out and crushing co Who's gonna last longer? Aaron Rodgers or Marcedes Lewis. Buddy, ooh, that's a good quest question right there.
Close, buddies. I think maybe Marceides. I think maybe Marceides. You'll see, yeah, I think he's got like four years left.
Why the hell not? All right, folks, That is a scenic of New York.
If you want to call the inside of a train station a scenic, beautiful inside of a train station, absolutely beautiful I had a scavenger hunting there for my fortieth birthday with all my friends. We hired this company and ran all over looking for clues and stuff. It's an amazing, amazing place. It's not far from where I am right now. But my friends in Los Angeles are there next to Sofi Stadium, and we're gonna come together to do the one thing that brings friends and enemies alike together each and every August Fantasy drafts.
And you guys are even there like the lounge, like we're already. Your body language is all excited.
Okay, So we're gonna do a little twist though, because time time was it would be all about running backs and fantasy and you draft Steven Davis or Clinton Portis or Ricky Williams and they have had four hundred carries in.
Win year league. No no, No. Wide receivers carry the day now.
So we are going to now welcome you to the Good Morning football wide receiver only fantasy Draft.
Here's how it's gonna work.
We have four teams, four managers owners amongst the four of us, we're gonna have four rounds. We're gonna snake draft one, two, three, four, and then four, three, two, one, back and forth for the four rounds, picking only wide receivers. And this is standard scoring. We're not gonna get into the weeds with the PPR, just standard scoring. Who's your guy, and guys, the staff determined the draft order before the segment.
I had nothing to do with that.
I promise you can protest if you want, but the draft order will be ak barbaja be a me Jamie Erdahl, Tom Pelisero, then myself with the four pick and also the five and then we will snake back. Is anybody there in the lounge have any questions with those pretend palm trees behind you?
No, you're gonna knock our palm trees.
All right.
I can't just sit in this chair and draft like I gotta. For some reason, they put this panic button in front of me. Kyle, you know how it comes to.
Me drafting, thanks specifically than you.
I am gonna sit on the ground here with my notes and I'm ready.
Yeah, I need you can just say, explore the room, do whatever you want to do. Let's just pretend like we're in Vegas like we used to do back in the day. So why does she Ris only make the picks quickly, four rounds, four teams. Okbar, you are on the clock with the number one.
Overall pick, and then take it from there. Guys, Okay, all right, here we go. This is very hard.
It always feels like it's the best thing to have the first pick. But I'm stuck between Justin Jefferson.
Right now and Tyree.
You've had all day, I.
Know, but I'm gonna go Tyreek Hill here because he has a better quarterback here.
It's Tyreek Hill, first one on the board, Jamie, Tyreek Hill.
I'm gonna go.
Contract dispute are no kind of I'm gonna go with the man who just relieved himself of a contract dispute.
I'm gonna go with CD Link. Kyle perked up myself. That was my guy.
This This actually is kind of a challenge because I put AJ Brown as a top five receivers several years ago on this show and got a lot of flack when I was posted on social media. I'm a huge AJ Brown guy, but Justin Jefferson, regardless of who's throwing on the football, I'm not passing in a fantasy draft on the best receiver over the past several years in football.
Give me Justin Jefferson.
All right, that's the three off the clock.
I will now finish the first round. You know, the Chase one is just sitting there. I saw him walking around in Cincinnati without pads on yesterday and his head coach is getting grilled about his status.
You know what I'm gonna do, guys, I'm going to a little bit of a wild card.
I'm gonna draft Pooka Nakoula of the La Rams. I'm taking that ends the first round.
Just watch where I'm going. I got a plan. So after one round, Ochbar started off.
With Tyreek, the guy everybody wants in their fantasy team. Jamie went with Ceedee Lamb, Tom Pelisera. I think we can recap because I have a plan going into round two. Here it is, look at those beautiful pictures we have here, James Bond, Jamie Herdal and then Pelis, Sarah and I are taking mug shots down in Mississippi somewhere.
There's the first round.
Now I will continue with round number two, and here's my plan. I told you always have a plan. With the first pick of the second round, the fifth overall pick, I am selecting Cooper Cup of the La Rams. Wow, I now have Pooka and Cooper. I think I have two hundred hundred reception guys. I think I have two ten touchdown guys Cooper and Pooka or Puoka and Coopa.
They're off the clock Cooper Troopers. That means it back to.
YouTube your guys star wars out there in the rams.
This is just ball and that's a vulture pick though you just vulture?
Why would you do that?
Soon?
I'm gonna light it up.
Park also both been hurting training camp. Well, let's set that aside.
This sets up perfectly for me because I got Justin Jefferson the first time around.
Now I can come back a DA team.
Let's go. It's a good same guys.
Are we really gonna let jamar Chie slide all the way to the seventh pick?
Give me jamar Chase.
He's he's gonna figure it out eventually for the Bengals, Right, Tom.
You wouldn't dissipate a lot of options when you're doing the holding thing.
Some point he.
Was sitting there.
I could not allow that man to slide to the eighth pick.
I take him at spow Oh boy. Okay, Well y'all y'all.
You guys are straight set tripping fantasy tripping right now because we still have am On Saint Brown on the board and you guys just went right past him. But then, you know what, I gotta go. I gotta I gotta go, Saint Brown Brown. You're my guy back, You're my guy, sat Brown. Okay, all right, I'm sorry here, Okay, Now this one is an easy one for me. This one is young, got a lot of upside.
Let me see these teams. I want to see the teams again.
I know what you're gonna do. You know where I'm gonna go. Oh, Kyle Keller, Sarah's doing very well.
Er Doll's doing very well, and Baja b and Mill is doing very well.
I have a secret plan.
We'll just get to it, Okay, don't I'm making it up as I go.
So let's start the third.
Round with bar Go ahead, Kyle.
Doesn't it kind of look like if we put the photos up just real quick again, it looks like your mugshot is if AI tried to recreate my mug shot, like a stronger jaw line, a little bit like better hair. It's like I kind of want to I kind of want to be a I me go ahead on Tom.
Those are not good pictures of either of us, all right.
With the first pick in the third round of the Fantasy wide Receiver Draft, bar Ola Millis selects Marvin Harrison Junior.
I cannot believe what is happening to me, Kyle. I'm not stressing. I can't believe these options are falling to me. I don't I'm not even gonna do a repeat pick, which I did one time on this show, which is really embarrassing. I'm gonna go with Garrett Wilson.
He's sitting there for me.
I know I love my team.
I am gonna proclaim that now I love it.
I was hoping nobody saw that that's who I was going to take in that spot.
Man.
Now see, now you're getting into like it's the older players. It's the Mike Evans and the DeVante Adams of the world. It's some of those ones, guys like Drake London, who's in a new scheme. Now, guys aren't the number one option on their team, like Jalen Waddle. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna get bold here. I'm gonna fall off parts lead on the rookies give him a leak, Neighbors, Why would you do it to me?
Game number one?
Molik Neighbors, he's out to get get I get two picks in a row.
I haven't picked it in like thirty picks, but I'm gonna go.
Give me Deebo.
Samuel, I get rushing yards, I get rushing touchdowns.
I get all of it.
And by the way, I may also get Ayuk leaving the team. We have no idea. John Lynch just said yesterday. At some point you gotta play, and Deebo will be playing me.
Know that. Guys. That's three rounds.
Listen, if you don't like your team, you got one more pick to do it.
I think it's interesting.
We've had two rookies go before established commodities, and as we start the fourth round, if you were to say to me, all right, with your fourth round pick, you get a guaranteed, guaranteed, no questions asked, thousand yards, bare minimum. I will take it. Give me Mike Evans. He does it every year. He'll do it next year, he'll do it the year after that. He'll do it all the way to Canton. Mike Evans, with my fourth round pick, I like my team that's weird and that's my comfort zone.
Tom back to you.
I'm gonna roll the dice a little bit here. So it's the final pick, right. I just took a chance with mylik neighbors. We haven't seen him in a regular season game catching pass from Danie Jones, but I've met in the upside there. I'm gonna go with somebody else who I just believe is going to find a way to be productive, even if we can't say hundred percent what team he is gonna be on by the end of the season.
Give me DeVante Adams in the fourth round.
Obviously, I was going at last year with Las Vegas. We'll see how the quarterback thing plays out.
We'll see how maybe think I was gonna read the deadline here?
Did you just like the I like the potential.
I like a guy who can count, a guy who's been there before.
You need some of those.
I'm you're messing with all of us right now, because we're supposed to be able to follow up on you. I know I'm going to go back to my good luck sitting on the ruck.
Okay, okay, okay, this.
Is where it gets. This is where I get stressed. I'm gonna go. Okay, I'm a little worried. I'm gonna go with day Flowers. I'm going with I'm going with Dave Flowers. It I thought about it, I go, I went with I can't even explain you.
Just picked the name I'm still thinking about.
I'm just pretty much traded Devonte Adams in late October.
I'm not saying he's going to be traded. I'm saying you can't say he's not going to be traded.
Thank you, Jamie.
Would you would you indulge this with just just a tad of analysis of why you picked safe, because any any coherent explanation.
It all will take.
I well, I think with the way the offense was going last year in Baltimore, and even though.
His name no, no, I like it. I mean, he was Boston College's entire roll, I'm.
Due for one panic pick and this is it.
You know, it's crazy.
All Jamie needs to say is I really like him and I think he's going to have a big year, but for some reason she can't.
That's all.
Crouched over the table, anxiety from every poor Kyle you ever break.
Cocky two, Cocky through three rounds. Oh my goodness, Okay, this.
Isn't real, Jamie. It's just fun.
Thank you, Kyle.
It feels real. It'll be real.
Just pick thoughts, Okay, Tom, I like to say Flowers, pick Tom.
How many times have you broke got work? Oh?
Couple?
You broke news?
Couple times?
I have never broken job before. What do you got?
This is my way of breaking news with a With the fourth pick and the wide receiver ath.
I'm selecting Brandon.
I you, Brandon, I you.
What team?
I thought you were gonna give you a Steelers receiver.
No, I'm going to tell you this is This is only confirmed by me per my sources, which is me. Brandon ay stays as a forty nine Ers. As a forty nine He's gonna be a member of the forty nine Ers. I'm going he's gonna keep the train rolling. Brandy Nayuk is my last pick. There we go, fourth round pick, Brandon, Now make me look like a genius.
Come on, dog, Oh boy, oh boy a. Here we go.
This draft will always be remembered as the Z Flowers Draft.
That's Jamie's team, that's that's Tom's, that's mine. On the far right and that's ok bars.
You know what, Jamie though, like, listen, we're making progress. I im merely mean that because you didn't draft someone who had already been taken.
So we're doing better.
We're doing great.
And I like your squad's.
Oh yeah, there's big Linchen receivers, Kyles, you get cross them out one by one.
You know what, Tom, you think it will that way?
Yeah, you think that would work, but in someone in a different draft. In my transit from chair to podium, I lost all.
Track of what I was trying to do.
I didn't I was gonna throw it at Kyle from making fun of my day Flowers.
I like, say Flowers.
I don't care if he's gonna catch all the targets. Mark Andrews move aside.
I don't care what's happening.
Lamar Jackson become a dropback quarterback and throw it to a Flowers so I can justify my pick.
Thank you, Kyle. I just have you want an analysis?
That's analysis.
I just got to bring in Lakwan real quick. Can we get Lakwan? If you had to rate us, you're you're a fantasy guy. Can you wait, who's the best team of Kwan? Who had the best team.
To be honest, be honest, be honest. Pull pull pull it up, pull it up.
Listen, Jamie has the best draft, but she started up strong.
But does a Flowers pick is a little hold. I'll give it to Jamie, though I would like to.
Do, but I don't like his last two picks.
Is it because you don't know where uh Achwar's final pick is even going to be playing?
Is that?
Is that negating some some skill leveler?
Yeah, a little bit.
Come on taking a risk there, Kyle, Well done, Thank you for anchoring our wide receiver only draft. Uh again, it's a snake draft.
Pick it apart, pick your best team.
We're going to post this on social Hans and Franz they think they ran away with it, but uh Wars feeling fly in that tuxedo and with his wide receiver only pick.
