Hour One of the Good Morning Football Podcast begins with hosts Jamie Erdahl, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager, and Akbar Gbajabiamila reacting to the trade that sent New England Patriots LB Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons. Then they unpack the Philadelphia Eagles roster and culture after their great start and rough finish to their season last year. Later, Peter lists 5 players he likes a lot in fantasy football way more than the experts do.
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.
Good Morning Football. Okay, let's do it.
This is Good Morning Football presented by Harper Freight live here in Los Angeles. I'm Jamie er at all. This is off Barbara Sha via Mila. There is Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt business to attend two as we two of the preseason kicksof tonight here on NFL Network, you are going to see Eagles Patriots. Where we going to see a resolution to the Matthew Judah situation that had been unfolding in New England.
Well, we were curious.
About that and whether or not he'd be in a hoodie on the sideline for the Patriots. No, he's out of town.
Let's talk about it.
The Patriots will not have their pass rusher and matt Judon out there because they traded him to Atlanta and in exchange for a twenty two third round pick. Judon was holding in during training camp. You saw him walking around a lot of brass. Was asked about Judan and how they're handling the situation with.
The red sleeve.
Well, there is no new deal. Instead, Judan is headed south This was on Judon's ig story last night after the news broke.
It is a.
Maps destination of choose your starting point, it would be Foxborough, Massachusetts, and here he goes on to Mercedes Benz Stadium. It's a trip that'll probably take about a day, depending on how fast you drive. Peter, I tee you up first in this conversation of how this trade went down, How close was New England to even approaching a number that Judon may have wanted, and how do we get here?
Yeah, it's interesting because I think we're going to look back at this post Tom Brady era of the Patriots, this little window where it was like Mac Jones and Cam Newton and like Judon was their best player.
Judon was a great free.
Agents signing in twenty twenty one. They went in that rare deal where like Belichick's like, you know what Brady is gonna be in Tampa. I'm gonna we're gonna break the bank. We're gonna get all this stuff for Brady. We're gonna try to win one with like all this stuff with They're gonna add all these pieces, right, Judon was great and Belichick loved them, and I was listening to Tom Curran, who's a local beat reporter in New England, obviously the voice of Boston Sports. He was like, let's not forget what a good Patriot Judon was.
So what'd they get for?
They got a.
Third round pick.
This isn't a fifth round pick, this isn't a conditional pick. This is a third round pick, which is gold in an NFL draft where apparently the Patriots weren't looking to spend the money on Matthew Judhon, a thirty year old pass rusher this year. So I think from the Patriot side, they already had a ton of cap space.
In this case, they get even.
More cap space because they're not gonna be paying Judon and they're not gonna have to pay him this extension. We don't know exactly what he was asking for, but I think from the Patriots side, it's like, look, twenty twenty four is kind of a wash, and I hate saying that, but like we're.
Building for twenty twenty five and beyond. Like when you trade away your best defensive.
Player and a guy who was beloved in the locker room, and he almost did it amicably, like there was no real bad blood. Yes, he talks on social media, but like in the building, he was there, he was doing the holding, like he handled this as well.
As you could for a guy who wanted a massive extension.
It wasn't gonna get on the field.
So from the Patriot side, it's tougher fans and I think has a lot of like the crafts are cheap and they're being frugal, and why wouldn't you just pay this man? Do you pay the man for this roster that is so young and as a rookie quarterback and as a new first year head coach, or do you say clear the decks and then in the draft next year we have another third round pick which could be really valuable. So I think from the Falcon side, we'll get into it. But Jamie, from the Patriots side, it.
Was here's a really well liked guy.
He's gonna be going to a contender in Atlanta who can easily win the NFC South this year.
And we're doing him favor. He's probably gonna get a.
Big extension, and for us, well, we saved some money and we got a third round pick.
Matthew Judon also is kind of a spectacle when it comes to social media. So this goes down yesterday, and now Judon has decided to go out of his way to repost on Instagram, which is kind of a love language in and of itself. Every single person that is dawning over him in terms of his time in New England.
Thank you Judon, we love you Judon, We're gonna miss you Judan. And then after about twenty of those stories last night he pops on he goes and it's my birthday. I don't know why he seems so entertained by this SCENEO.
I guess that's what.
Works for him up bar knowing that position so well, considering both the Patriots and the Falcons, where do you go from here in terms of whatever direction these teams are choosing to go and not being in the Matthew Judon Sweepstakes and the Falcons opting in.
Well, I like the idea that the you know that the Falcons are in on this, like they said, like, this is a great opportunity for us to a first off, give him a great birthday gift. Happy birthday, Matthew Judah thirty two years old, and the dude still has a lot in him. I mean we know that, you know last year there was an injury, you know, with the bicep and everything, but prior to that, fifteen and a half sacks. I mean, this is a double digit sack dude. The Falcons went out there and was like, you know what we're gonna do. We all upgrade our team.
We're gonna make sure last year was I mean, you look at the NFC.
South, very very average last year. But this dude can get after it. They haven't had a double digit sack since twenty sixteen. They haven't had a double digit sack artist since then, and that was Vic Beasley. This adds a different element to their defense. And when I look at what they have in the backfield with Jesse Bates, who had six interceptions last season, you have that safety. You have a double digit sack dude coming in. That defense has been elevated. These guys, the Falcons, they're ready to ball out. They're ready to get after it in the NFC South.
There's a big win for the Falcons.
They got a very good player who is very motivated. The Falcons are gonna matter. I really think that offense is gonna move and Judan is great.
As a bad bad.
Day for people like Baker Mayfield and Derek Carr the NFC South Judon will matter there, and the Falcons will matter the Patriots. It's like where have all the duck boats gone?
My god?
I know the Celtics are really special, but doesn't this feel like, in a way, like the Devil's coming to collect after twenty years of prosperity.
It just feels dark.
And I know that some of the fans are saying all in for twenty twenty five, All okay, but you know the Pats are never gonna say that. You're never gonna hear that from them. So I would pose the question to the Patriots. Then we're a couple of weeks from the season opener. What is the plan to win this year? What's the formula? Who are you? Because I just want to set the table here with the Patriots are as far as I understand, the Patriots have a first time head coach who has never had a single coaching position of any kind anywhere outside the Patriots takes over for the greatest coach of all time, who himself went four and thirteen with this corps and was shut out twice in the final season. Maybe ever as head coach, you have a starting quarterback who would very well respected as a person and a professional, but is on his sixth team and is eighteen and thirty as a starter. Despite that, the third overall pick in the draft apparently isn't even entering the realm of conversation.
About maybe winning that job. It's not even in the conversation. The wide receivers are shall we say, lacking.
So you see that, you say, let's go get Brandon Ayuk.
Let's great.
But Brandon Ayuk then seize the deal and reportedly allegedly says no, no, no, no, no, I would rather go play with zombie Russell Wilson than the New England Patriots and all their Super Bowl banners.
So the plan then is maybe to play really.
Good defense and run the ball good, good, good, But problem one, you're in the same division as Rogers Allen and the Mike McDaniel machine. Problem two, you just traded the best player on your team who is a great pass rusher, and this is minutes after your other best pass rushers out indefinitely with blood clots. So what is the plan and what is the greater number right now? The number of wins this year for the Patriots against any who matters are the number of minutes for Jason Tatum against Serbia this year.
I don't know they they might both be zero.
You're supposed to have a plan right now, and the plan can't be with the fans say, which.
Is unload them. Unload them, We'll just get better draft picks. We're in the number one draft pick. You're also the Patriots.
You got banners, and you got a tradition, and you have a respect amongst everybody. I don't understand this move. And more importantly, of all thirty two teams, I can see what thirty one of them are going for. Thirty two, the one that mattered the most in the entire twenty first century.
I don't know what the plan is. Do you like?
Honestly, Kyle, I think you're right.
I think that if Patriots fans are expecting this team to be like a scrappy team that's gonna win eleven games, I don't see that. I don't see a scrappy team do win eleven games. What I see is a complete reset right now. And I wonder if Belichick was still in the building, would they have found a way to kept, you know, keep Jude on, or would Belichick have insisted like I don't I don't do rebuilds, Like we continue to find a way. But Belichick's gone, and like if this was ever a chance to just press the button and say.
Let's just detonate the whole thing. This is it now. He did miss thirteen games last year.
He's a veteran going like, do you pay if you're a rebuilding team, do you pay for a thirty year old pass rusher who was injured last year is disgruntled and we don't want to necessarily see I don't know so for them like third round pick, I don't know if they would have done it for a fourth or a fifth. And I know we can roll our eyes and say, well how many third round picks?
A lot of third round picks matter, So I.
Know who brands theom is rebuilding. Weren't the twenty twenty three Texans rebuilding? They were terrible? They were rebuilding.
There should be no rebuildings. Well, they just got a brand new, fancy quarterback. What about there?
You can do?
No? Like, why are they rebuilding? They got they young talent. I don't get it. I'm not defending it.
I'm trying to comp to terms with it myself because I think I love jude On, and I think Patriots fans love jude On, and I think he was one of the better defensive players they've had in the past decade.
Real quick on the Falcons, akbar hit that.
Like they view themselves as contenders and like when you've got that new offensive coach in Zach Robinson on offense, but you also bring in like the grit and the ram style from Rahie Morris, like you see yourself as an elite coaching staff. And then now you're adding Judon and you already have you know, surrounded these pieces. But when you go Cousins in Judan, you could argue those are the two biggest acquisitions at those respective units. Like the best pass rusher that was available might be Judon and the best quarterback that was available is one hundred percent Kirk Cousins. So you've added these two major pieces to a division that I think is wide open.
Falcon sky is the limit, And I know, you know we're talking Niners or is it going to be Eagles or Cowboys? Like Falcons have them been relevant in many years.
I feel like we're going to start talking about them more now at the addition of Judon and Cousins this offseason.
So put a bow on this.
I just want to remind everyone that when Judon, he was a co host son GMFB for several days in the offseason, and one of his endearing personality quirks that we loved at the table, we would just tee up Judon on free agents and he would just openly try to recruit them to come play for the Patriots. It did not matter who it was. You just be like, yeah, I need that guy on my team too. Well, it seems like the Falcons won the sweepstakes for Judon services. Interesting to look at two first year head coaches in Gerrod Mayo and Raheem Morris, and to see the direction and the commitment that these two teams seem to be going in. It's fascinating stuff. Jude On now in Atlanta Falcon Ooh, we are looking forward to some football tonight right here on NFL Network. It's the start of Week two of the preseason. It's Patriots Eagles, So let's unpack the Eagles side of things. Bad taste in everyone's mouth. The way last year finished, it was a drop off of epic proportions the one that we did not expect happened to that team coached by Nick Sirianni, with those players, Peter, do you view the way the Eagles finished twenty twenty three as an anomaly or something they should actually be fearful of? The way starting twenty twenty four.
It was horrible.
I mean, there is a stink to that team at the end of the year, so much so that they lost like thirty two to nine in Tampa on a Monday night game in the playoffs, and like no one was even surprised because they limped to the end of the season.
It was so bad.
They won one game in their final like five weeks, and it was over the Tommy DeVito led Giants on Christmas at home, and they almost gave that game away. Darius Slayton had that big eighty r touchdown, and the defensive backfield was a mess. And there are guys in the defensive backfield that, like we have seen with our own two eyes, like be awesome in this league, Like Kevin Byard was awesome for many years, and then he goes to the Philadelphia Eagles and it's like he can't play all of a sudden, you look at Darius Slay like he's had amazing Pro Bowl seasons and they couldn't do much against anybody in the backfield. So would they do this offseason? They bring in Vic Fangio, who is like your disciplinarian, You're let's actually sure up the defense and let's give it like and a look that teams hate coaching against.
It's good.
I think it's good.
Isn't enough to offset the loss of Jason Kelsey's enough to offset all the offseason of Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni stuff that has in the entire summer. Then putting it to bed, I'm gonna say they did enough to at least.
You know, wipe the slate clean.
But I don't know.
I don't know if I'm putting them as the NFC East winner right now. I've got to decide between them and Dallas. And then of course the Giants and Commanders are probably in their buildings thinking, like, you know what, those teams are both susceptible and I've had some really weird offseason. So I look at the Eagles roster. Of course they look great, and of course everything's right. I look at the coaching staff. You add Vic Fangio in that defense, which is complex, but also like this gives fits for young quarterbacks.
Yeah, it seems right, but I don't know.
I don't know if that was an anomaly because the last time I saw Jalen Hurts it was not pretty.
Yeah, you know, I'd say this is an anomaly. You know.
Look, they started off strong and everybody was excited. There was something there. There's something that you take from that. There was something that they were doing right now. The slump they went on that back half slump and it looked awful. I mean, like we can all agree to that it was beat for whatever that reason.
I wasn't in that locker room.
I couldn't tell you what was going on, but I can't tell you what was produced wasn't cool. But what they did, Yes, you lose Jason Kelce, but then you add something special to this offense, and that's Sakuon Barkley. Sa Kuon Barkley to me, I think makes this thing all better again. You know, they haven't had a running back like that since Shady McCoy. I mean, this is that he's that dynamic. He does that much for this offense, and so I believe this team could get back to being an eleven plus win team, and you know, you talk about fighting and that in that division. I don't know right now. They tell they look like they have the upper hand on the Dallas Cowboys. In my opinion, I think they have that upper hand. So I think we're gonna go back and see that twenty twenty two Philadelphia Eagles that look very very strong, maybe even a better team than the twenty twenty two Philadelphia Eagles.
Wow.
For a team to start ten to one and then lose five of their last six game, five of their last six, they did it tappens six times in NFL history, six times and still go to the playoffs.
And then they just completely fell apart.
And as I'm said many times, there wasn't an obvious reason to point to. There was not a major injury, there was not an off the field tragedy that tore the team apart, and we've seen that it just kind of died right there for reasons we're not even sure of. And the low point of it, if you remember, they lose actually was this game to the Seahawks, and that was to drop to ten and four, three losses in a row, and Afterwards, Jalen Hurts questions how.
Quote committed the Eagles were, and then.
When asked what he meant by committed, he replied that he did not.
Have a dictionary on him.
So that is where it started to fall apart. Now it was a long time ago, but the principals are all still there.
I don't know what happened. It's one of the worst meltdowns we've ever seen. Here's what I do know.
This team needs a win fast, like they need.
An early, early win more than anybody ever.
They open at home, which is maybe a bad thing against the Packers. It's this weird game on Peacock at like five point fifteen, like you had it in Brazil.
In Brazil, so it's spark from Philadelphia. I shouldn't know that.
You gotta win in Brazil. Oh, Peter, you gotta tell me that win in Brazil. I don't care if it's on Mars. You have to beat the Packers. Everyone's going to be watching. It's like if you lose that game, it's like, well then it isn't fixed. Then you're on your schedule. I think more than anybody ever, you need to win the week one game and really for the great people of wear Peter Spolo. You gotta win it for them, because then if it carries over, then we.
Got a problem.
It begs me to ask the question. I always like, Kyle, when you went to Brazil Sa Polo, did you yourself have a good experience one of a team that's going to win there or one that will lose their Kyle your time in Sa pallow go.
Man, that should be able. How to pay wall?
I went there as a young man, twenty six years old. One single, one of my bros just the dude's tramp down to Brazil like a bucket list type of thing.
They listen.
The culture down there is really fun and positive and affectionate and loving. And I just hope that's some of that finds this way to the Philadelphi Eagles, because I've certainly found its way to.
Me hotal Co.
I got to revisit this. Hello, why'd you go to South Paula? All that traffic over there?
You should have gone down to Rio, man, Like that's where the actual opinion, that's where you're to let.
To Buenos Aires went. We went. We did it all guys, Argentina. Also, this is it. This is my one last.
Dance during the trip, the way Kyle described Brazil fun and positive and affectionate and what you want between a relationship between head coach and quarterback at this point. So this is what I've been curious about all summer is the where there's smoke, there's fire conversation because we've got Jalen Hurts and Nick Rianni whoever has opinions about what's going on in that relationship, and they're writing about it in the Philadelphia media. Jalen Hurts is starting press conferences before even being asked questions, trying to give his takes on Listen, you guys have the classic this you guys have a job to do line, and I know you want to write about this relationship, Peter. I'm so curious about where this is coming from, why it's happening, And frankly, you know, what are you hearing from the actual dynamic within that building.
Yeah, everything's great right now, that's all I'm hearing. Everything's wonderful. But Jalen Hurts did have comments in his last press commerce before they went on their summer break that had people scratching their heads about the offense they did bring in Kellen Moore to now call the shots instead of really Sirianni call him the plays and Nixon offensive coach. So you you raise your eyebrows with that look that filling media. They are salivating to get to the bottom of this, and they are frothing at the mouth to tear it apart if it goes wrong. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Let's see if it could go all right. The talent is so good on this scene. So you look at all these players and then you add Saquon and you're like, it's an all star team, so just don't mess it up. And yet at the end of last season they couldn't. They couldn't beat a high school team at the end of last season.
So it was like, all right, something's up.
So to me, Jamie, it's all value questioning because the commentary, everything externally is it has raised eyebrows.
I will say one thing.
You know, the NFL does this twenty twenty eight Olympics commercial, which we've talked about, like.
They chose one guy.
They flew Jalen Hurts from Philadelphia to LA to be in this ad to light the torch that ran during the Olympics it's like the NFL's in. I think we're all in. The Super Bull was maybe the best performance Jalen Hurts has ever had in his life. We all think he's the coolest guy, and it's greatly last year, and it's so weird that, like even after the contract extension, now people are starting to poke holes in his game. I think this is a big year for Jalen Hurts, and it's a shame because I thought we put those questions to bed with one of the greatest seasons ever what he had back in twenty twenty two.
You know, I think it's important for the Eagles. You know, this goes back to something I remember my high school coach telling me, which was, don't read your ink. And it's very easy when you have early success like that, when you go on such a hot streak, and when I say reading your ink and probably not reading newspapers anymore, they're probably going in reading you know, the text messages and the social media and.
You start to believe the hyping.
You need a coach who can put people in a position to go, you know what, cancel that noise. You got to cancel it out because I love what Kyle was saying like it really was one of those enigmas where you're going, wait, hold up, Like there isn't an injury.
What's happening.
They got all their personnel there there, You've got the same coaches. There wasn't like this dramatic change that shifted everything.
So I think if you stop reading the.
Ink, stop picking up the phone, stop listening to what all the pundits are saying and how great you are, you know, maybe that changes. And I think they'll probably make those changes within the locker room because that's a cultural thing that I think ended up getting them at the back end.
I mean, it's just so weird.
We're sitting here a Zach Bar's talking and we were talking about how loaded the team was in a talent. There's Peter, how talented they were speaking of loaded with talent. Yeah, we forgot that just casually. Julio Jones was on the team, like he's a guy who's gonna.
Score a touchdown. Yeah yeah, I think so he will.
Moonwalk into the Hall of Fame someday. And he was on the team as an afterthought. Not to mention, this team also had a literal unstoppable play that was making people want to change the rules of football because they couldn't stop the Eagles and it still fell apart. So it almost is like when I'm seeing Davante and aj now Saquan, it's like, man, if you can't win with this, like what are you doing? What can you win with There's a pressure that comes with having that good of a roster.
Huge week, one game, huge week with Kellen Moore in Brazil.
Kellen Moore is an interesting piece of this because here was Kellen this rising star. It was like he's in the next head coach of the Cowboys, it's.
A done deal.
And then he's gonna interview for the Dolphins and it's like, wow, they chose Mike McDaniel over Kellen Moore. That's surprise and okay, but Kellen Moore is still the guy. And then after the Cowboys season fell apart a couple years ago, the Chargers bring him in last year and it's like Justin.
Herbert and Kellen Moore like, oh my god, didn't do it.
Didn't happen.
So now Kellen Moore is the affiliate.
It's like all right, now Kellen Moore, It's like all right, so you've got Jalen hurts Kellen Moore, Vic Fanjo Nick Siery on the other people looking prove something and they this all star talent like it should happen. Chemistry really matters on this team, and chemistry between the coach and the quarterback. I think it's going to be analyzed till the end of the season, no.
Matter how it goes good or bad.
Kyle, it's so funny that what you're saying is like you two are spitballing, like how did this happen to this? What I also just remembered is like that crazy change that happened defensively with the play calling, and Matt Patricia was then there too. Let's review that again because then I'm thinking of Kevin Bayard on the move forward. Oh my gosh, it's just crazy when you consider all that happened and the way it finished, and my goodness. Now here we are with the Eagles and they're starting their season. Often stop, Helo Brazil, Kyle, here we go.
What's up?
Everybody?
Welcome back to the show.
Last year, around this time, we were in New York City and I was getting some buzz from LA and I came on our show and I said something in early September before the season started that I was praying fantasy owners listen to take a watch this clip from last year.
I think the name to watch is Pooka Nkua.
Say it again, Na Yu, teamh overall pick wide receiver at a BYU. Yes, Van Jefferson and two two at Well will be the main guys.
Yes, Scrawnick will be there.
But when you say Nakua.
Scoring a touchdown on Sundays, don't forget when you heard it first.
All right, And he broke a sixty three year NFL record because the wos reception yards.
Fire worker Nakua.
I'm gonna have my list of Nakua's in a couple of weeks, but I do want to give you five players that I think I like a lot more than where they're going in your fantasy drafts.
So they're coming up this weekend, They're coming up the.
Week after that.
Here are five guys I think you should draft earlier than what the experts are saying. Let's start off with Cooper Cup in Los Angeles. Right now, I'm seeing Cooper Cup going in like the late third round and fourth round in fantasy drafts. He finished fortieth amongst wide receivers last year. Like guys, he's healthy, he looks great. Cooper Cup a few years ago is a triple Crown guy. When I tell you Cooper Cup is back, Cooper Cuff is back. If you get him in that third round, you were gonna be very happy. I would think Cooper Cup is deserving of being in that second round, maybe even the first round, based on just how good he looks this summer.
I am all in on Cooper.
Cup's revitalization of his fantasy stock.
If you will.
I loathe like we're like going through the fantasy numbers all this and workloaded.
I know Puko Naku is there.
I know he's gonna catch a hundred walls. Cooper Cup might also. I'm in on Cooper Cup. He's gonna go and be a third or fourth round pick in your fantasy draft.
Take him in the second all right, draft him before Pooko.
I might, Yeah, Yeah, I might.
Yeah.
Cooper's the guy still the guy number four. Do you know this guy, Zamir White?
All right, Josh Jacob's one of the lead the league rushing a couple of years ago.
Guys Zamir Roight last year.
In the last three weeks of twenty twenty three, at the third most rushing yards in the NFL.
Samir White had eighty four rushing.
Attempts in the last few weeks. Of the last four weeks of the season, the most in the NFL. No longer is Josh Jacobs in that backfield, it's Zamir White, the University of Georgia's standout.
He and James Cook were.
The guys over there.
Zamir White is going to be a workhorse in this offense. Down there in Vegas, Lukeetzi comes and Luketzy's gonna put in his offense, and running backs play a big role. If you saw what Aaron Jones did back in Green Bay, and if you saw what they did in Chicago, here go, this is the guys a Mere White all right, right now, Zamir White's going like fifth, sixth round, ludicrous, all right, number three.
Wow.
Jadan Daniels like not even being discussed.
As a quarterback to draft like I've seen him going in the twelfth round on these NFL dot Com and CBS.
Jadon Dana's gonna do it all. Jadon Daniels is he is.
Playing in Cliff Kingsbury's offense now remember when Cliff was with Kyler Murray as Kyler was a rookie out of the gates. Kyler Murray was the sixth bestuur voorback in Fantasy that year. I don't think Jayden Daniel's going to suddenly just hand the ball off to Brian Robinson. Every player give them ball to Eckler. I think Jayden Daniels is going to be a QB one in your league, and I think he should go a lot earlier than the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth round where he is going.
All right, now to the two big ones I mentioned them both yesterday, I'm really all in on Kenneth Walker.
Kenneth Walker the third.
I think this guy is going to have a huge season. He's going to be the workhorse in Ben Grubb's offense. I also think Mike McDonald saw it first hand when he was defensive coordinator at Michigan and Kenneth Walker's a Michigan State.
Player ran all over me. Look, he had some injury issues last year.
He finished nineteenth among running backs in Fantasy.
They have this guy Charbonnay, who they love as well.
I just think Kenneth Walker is going to have that breakout season. Right now, Walker's going in the fifth round. I would take him in the second or the third.
That's how high I am on it.
I love it.
I'm telling you that I think he's going to be one of these dudes.
And they love him there in Seattle. But the number one guy, this is not some shocker. I had talked about him yesterday.
I would take him first overall, first overall.
I think Jon Robinson he's gonna be like McCaffrey this year.
That's how high I am on him.
They have a new offensive coordinator and Zach Robinson. They've got new offensive coaches up, up and down. I don't think Robinson was necessarily utilized the way he should have been last year.
He should have seen a lot more balls.
And that's okay because when he did get the ball, he still was a beast.
Last year.
He finished ninth among running backs, the most for any rookie.
Running back in Atlanta Falcons history.
So that's fine.
But he had four receiving touchdowns last year, which led the team, which is telling you that's a problem there.
But he's gonna be used a lot more in the passing game. You have talent where you could do.
This kind of stuff.
I'm looking at as like I love Derrick Henry, I love Saquan I love all these guys that we're talking up who haven't done it yet.
Like if Breese Hall hasn't been.
Like that guy yet, they all might have huge years. And I know the fantasy owners and the fantasy experts are all in on him.
I'm all in on Bijon. I'm tweeting it during the segment. I am all in.
I think Bijon could be your McCaffrey's best running back.
In the league.
So these are not like way off the radar names.
These are names that you're familiar with.
These are names that you are going to see drafted regardless. I just think this should probably go earlier than where the fantasy experts have them pegged.
Jamie heard all. I'm not a fantasy expert.
I talked to coaches, though I talk to all these different teams. I think my insight matters as well, and if you're drafting this weekend, you might want to use my information.
Not exactly you know, numbers based.
It's more gut and feel. And some of the guys that I like that are going a.
Little later than this.
I fill this.
Peter, your analysis is always appreciated and respected because when.
You say, when Peter Schrager says that he's.
Talking to the coaches and the gams, this is a usage question at this point, like he knows now that like Zamir White, Josh Jacobs goodbye, enjoy the Land of the Cheese, it is Zamir White's running back room.
Now he's nicknamed Zeus. And I love this for the rais zoos. I've always loved hearing it.
It's I love Zamir White being on this list and also day two of Kenneth Walker, the third with the Peter Scheger mentioned.
Yes, I'm in on Kenneth Walker.
Akbar, you were a fantasy expert on that Fantasy show and NFL Network for years. You have to have some insights and some thoughts on this list.
Yeah, yeah, No.
First off, I just want you to say Zamir White like you said, you know, Nikua, like you just made it sound like you gotta say me Samir right like, because then there's just as absolinity to the fact that this is a running back that I think what happens in fantasy A lot of times people look they go right into the numbers, but they forget to go. I was there at the Raiders camp. I saw what this dude looked like during training. I'm telling you, like Josh Jacobs, got obviously all the love, all the attention, and sometimes in fantasy you're scared to go with the unknown. But I'm telling you, it is known that this dude is a baller. So definitely I'm filling you with a Zamir White. I think he's going to be outstanding in fantasy football. And the dudess got hands as well.
I'm in the twenty fourth season of the same fantasy and they Love My Friends twenty fourth season.
And what's funny is that I've been through.
I feel like I've been twenty four of these segments with Peter where he gives his guys. What's funny is that I'll do my draft and I'll kind of forget, and my guys in my league watch the show and they'll draft the Peter guys that you tell them out.
From under me like they just moved.
No, they do, like my guy Aaron Ginsburg Aaron hart mcohead partner, They'll take all the stuff that you say. But the headline here, the headline, and this is I've already tweeted it out. Peter says, take Bijon Robinson number one overall mid fantasy, number one overall. So you're the guy who gets that number one pick.
This is so there, it is.
This is so great you got you got the number one pick, he says, with all due respect to Christian McCaffrey or in PPR, people like Cooper Coppa ceedy Land web Beat, a Falcon's second year running back with a new head coach, a new coordinator, and a new quarterback.
They like Algiers the number one. They have another running back number one. Peter, it does give us a little bit more wire.
Okay, hold on, I have this is this is so perfect.
First response.
Okay, I put it out there the tweet, the first response, Okay, no thanks, I'm taking new Chubb.
Okay, all right, run with it. Handover, Joey Hanover, do you Joey. Joey says he's bringing new up number one.
I love Rubb.
I'll say this also, and this.
Is so like you know, NFL network, we talk football, but we talk more than They have the most underrated offensive line in the league.
They've got first round picks. On that offensive line.
They love that.
Like this is they are going to be a really high powered offense.
Cousins will throw the ball to out of the backfield to v Jon Robinson and he'll also get his carries. So look, if I just come out here and say, like, draft McCaffrey, draft Henry, like I get it, I'm going down a little.
Bit of a limb.
He was, He's fifth in all these things.
It's not like it's crazy. I'm saying Jon first over Happy.
And you know this about fantasy running backs are all hard to find.
They are hard.
I mean, so you got to make sure when you draft on them, you're drafting them early. That's why your list looks really good. I'm gonna go back to Samir. Samir is the top ten fantasy running back for sure the season.
I always love when Peter has a list where it says things that Peter likes more than the experts.
It's like there's experts, and.
Then Peter's like, I'm gonna dug on the experts.
I'm not an expert. I'm just a guy.
You like guys like a jo. I like that.
You do you.
I used the perfect gift of Peter in that tweet to everybody,
