Good Morning Football.
That's right, this is Good Morning Football. We are live in Los Angeles.
This is my friend ak Barbaja Biamilla. He's really cool. Peter Schrager, Kyle Grant. They're in New York City.
I'm Jamie her At all time for Wake Up Call presented by Verizon. Eighteen starts into his NFL career and last year's number one overall pick, Bryce Young is getting benched in favor of Andy Dalton. The decision came out yesterday just after our show finished on a Monday, made by Panthers head coach Dave Kanalis, and he has said now that Andy Dalton gives them, the Panthers their best chance to win this week against the Raiders.
And essentially moving forward.
It has been really challenging to watch Bryce Young, I try to operate as a quarterback operate this offense. Defenses have been getting after him, chasing.
Him all around the yard.
Bryce Young only has won two games in his short career. But Peter Some said this move was right on time. There's too late, a little premature, Peter, where do you land on this skill, it's historic.
I asked our NFL research guys and gals to do some digging, and it took a while for the answer. I said, has there ever been a first overall pick who started Week one in his second season and was benched after Week two?
And the answer is no, Like it's never happened before.
Here's my interpretation of it talking to folks in Carolina.
Two games in. This was obviously not the plan.
But it was also not the plan to be completely non competitive in two games and to be blown out like this. This is entirely from what I'm told Dave Canalis's decision. This isn't from the owner, This isn't from the GM. This is from the owner. This is from the coach saying we.
Should be better than this.
We have better players on the field, and this is just not working for any any one's sake. And lastly, like you go for this thing with Bryce Young, maybe it's the best for him to take a step back and just watch for a bit, because you.
Could be absolutely shattered.
We've had enough quarterbacks in the history of the NFL who lose like this, who just can't.
Dig out of it. Look, there is a bright side on this.
There are some you know tales of you know, Alex Smith was in a winning quarterback for six years and was rotating around with different offensiveder that finally found himself. Matthew Stafford couldn't win for years, finally found a way and started winning as a.
First overall pick.
It's not fair to the fans, it's not fair to the other players, and it's not fair to Bryce Young to keep trotting it out like it's been.
This is not the plan.
Obviously, it's a horrific situation in Caroline. After two games, they're hoping to remedy it and Andy Dalton could offer a steady hand and at least play some competitive football as Bryce Young gets better watching.
From afar, you know, it's interesting because, you know, I feel a different type of way about this. I feel like this has been unfair to the young player and Bryce Young. He had to go through Frank Reich and then they have an interim head coach. Then he gets a new head coach in Canalis, And to me, it's like, at what point do you start saying, hey, maybe this is an organizational thing where they continue to mess up on developing quarterbacks. Look at Sam Darnold, look at Baker Mayfield. These guys since they've left the Carolina Panthers forty six touchdowns, fourteen interception between the two, they're both starting off two and zero right now. In fact, they're playing some really good football. It's very easy to go, oh yeah, we're just gonna benj them.
I get it.
That's not Canal's guy. You didn't draft him in twenty twenty three. That's cool, But I'd say, like, if Canal's is supposed to be the quarterback whisperer, like, you know, he resurrected Geno Smith's career, he resurrected, so to speak, Baker mayfield career, why not be able to do the same thing. And maybe it's taking him off the shelf to resurrect him and just kind of get him up to speed. But I hope for sure that this is not something that they just kind of throw him way to the side.
Yeah, listen, everybody, as you're going through your day today and scanning your phone or whatever, do yourself a favorite, take thirty seconds and pull up some Bryce Young college highlights. Just watch it a little bit and watch how brilliant he is, Watch how good of a player he is.
Watch him just jump off the screen.
I don't really think this era of Carolina Panthers football has the credibility here.
They just don't.
And I'm rooting for them, and I understand it's in a weird perverse way while they're doing this, but like, this is a disaster of your making. It's not just to mention all those the success of the quarterbacks that have.
Had since they've left you. This is a team that was sitting on Christian McCaffrey.
This is a team that had DJ Moore and they made a bunch of different moves and they've all fallen completely flat on their face.
They take this guy who.
Started eighteen games with three different offenses, zero help, and the idea was to throw him Adham Thielen, who I like, come on, like this was really the situation that was gonna work.
And I hate that take about you know, this might be good for him, that's BS.
I think it's.
Humiliating for Bryce Young. I think he's got to be embarrassed and angry. I don't think that usually ends well. I think their will gets broken. Terrible terrible era, and I think a terrible, terrible recipe and just look at what happens to the guys who leave Carolina. Dave Canals has got the job to fix Bryce Young. There's a lot of guys they could have hired. He was chosen to fix him. After two weeks, he can so he benches him. I feel defensive about Bryce Young, and just watch how good of a player he is, and then watch what happened last week. I don't think it has everything to do with him. I think actually has most to do with his surroundings.
Yeah, most to do with his surroundings. I totally agree in developing him. Now, look, I will say it hasn't been good football for Bryce Young. Take a look at this film here that I was able to cut up here. This is against the Los Angeles Chargers. In this situation, he's getting pressure, but because his feet his foot is drifting, he's kind of drifting. In that situation, he kind of loses his face. You know, obviously they lose on that situation. In this situation here is third and seven, he has his eyes in the wrong spot. He's there looking at there's a better man to man coverage or excuse, a man of man where he can answer to the boundary, but he does it, so he's getting nervous. His eyes are wondering, and that's a bad situation for any quarterback to be. But you bring in like you were talking about, we brings in Dave Canalis. They have him, he's supposed to be the to get him right. And I've seen this. I'm gonna go back and up Peter, you might appreciate this. I think certain coaches do well with certain players. I think that's an obvious statement. I go back to Aaron Kantman. Aaron Kenttman was crushing it, crushing it in Green Bay. He moves over to Don Caper's defense for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and we just saw his numbers plummet. So many people want to blame the players. All the players not good. Sometimes you get in the system where a coach just doesn't know how to coach you, and the player loses his confidence and he loses quote unquote his skill set. So I'm there supporting Bryce Young. I think he still has a lot of football left in him.
Look, the interesting thing with Bryce was when he first got there, they said, we're gonna surround him with all these quarterback gurus and minds. Josh McCown's going to be his quarterbacks coach, Frank Reich is gonna be there. We're gonna have Andy Dalton as a veteran. We're gonna have Do Staley in the room. We're gonna have all these different offensive courts. And last year the narrative was there was too many voices, you know, too many different opinions.
There was too much on Bryce all right.
Well, then this year in.
The draft they at a big they get a big wide receiver and look get they get the running back in Brooks. They also in free agency get all these offensive linemen and it's like we got Canal.
It's the quarterback.
They're losing my fifty the first two weeks, so I'm not defending the decision. I think, if I don't know what to make of it, it's horrible. Obviously it's not ideal. But I also think they can't lose my fifty again.
They're losing my fifty points. Like this is like these are horrible games.
So you know, this is their way of saying, we get it, like we're where like we know this isn't gonna.
Work, so let's try to check it up.
But gosh, they're not giving up on Bryce Young yet, I don't think and if so, like I don't. I don't know what's the trade market for Bryce Young right now. I don't can't imagine a single team wants Bryce Young at the moment after a season in two games.
Well, unless you have a Cement Wall as an offensive line, I don't think you can put Bryce Young up with any team.
I mean right, it's Kyle.
I'm so glad you brought up the college era of Bryce Young, because that is the entire reason why the Panthers made the trade with the Chicago Bears to go get him. That his entire college career is the reason why he was even in that conversation for CJ. Stroud for which quarterback was going to go number one overall? Watching Bryce Young operate in college, I am going away from the football. I am going as a man, as a sideline guy, as a leader of a team that had so much talent on it, as a quarterback of a team coach by Nick Saban, one of the most intimidating and powerful personalities in football. Bryce Young held his own beyond that. And again, this is away from the skill set because there's been loads of examples of guys who had it in college and did it in the NFL from a skill set perspective, but from a leadership perspective. As a number one overall pick, there is a reason why the Panthers went with Bryce Young to have in their building. He is an impressive, smart, charismatic young man. He's a little on the quiet side, so he's not gonna yell at you. He's not going to jump off the sideline. But he is mature, he is grounded, he is impressive, and I hope this doesn't break him because he has been one of the most incredible young people I've ever been around that was able to and again a team that had a ton of talents on it on that Alabama squad to have been coached up as hard as he was by Nick Saban. For this to happen to him, it's brutal. Again, I'm not trying to say it should or shouldn't have happened. Clearly something wasn't right with him. But as our old colleague Jason mccordy used to say, he's number one overall pick, he'll get another chance, or frankly three or four in the NFL. If it doesn't happen with the Carolina Panthers.
I totally agree. This is to me organization will mess up. They've messed this young kid up in his opportune but he'll get another chance with a good coach.
Good mon football.
This is one of the best football players in leagues on a two to zero team and one of the most exciting, one of the most watchable football players pound for pound ever.
You know him, you love him, We got him. Tyron Matthew from the New.
Orleans How we doing, Good morning, Good morning guys.
It's great to see you. It's crazy, though, Tyron, and I know you relate to this. The Honey Badger is in season twelve. How the hell did that happen?
Man, Man, I don't know. You know, a lot of hard work, you know, I've always been surrounded by some great teammates that just inspired me. You know, coaches as well. So there's been a lot of people that you know, they're a reason why you know, I'm still you know, playing you know this game?
Yeah, man, I gotta ask you, tyrannt Man, because the other side of the ball, your offense scored ninety one point bro, Like in two games. You know, you see them every day in practice. You know, tell us what's making them so successful right now?
Well, I think everybody is just bought in, man. I think that entire group, you know, from the offense line, you know, all the way to skilled players outside. I think all those guys are just really inspired right now. And you know, I think that they know that that that it's a great system, right and I think all those guys are just, you know, like I said, excited about it.
Look, I look at this team and it's not just offense. It's not just Derek Carr. You guys are doing it on defense also. And it's not these young you it's the Mario Davis, it's Cameron George. Like you guys all stuck around and said, we're not done with this yet.
We're not we're not rebuilding. We still have it.
Talk about what's going on in that defensive room. Because I love the mix of young and old and the veterans and the youth, and you guys are leading the way.
Yeah, man, I think it's a it's a good mixture of young guys, you know, older guys. I think our coaches do an outstanding job. And I think defensively for the Saints. Man like, like, we just have a certain way that we want to play the game. And I think these first couple of weeks, you know, we've been able to display that tyron.
One of my favorite things that I used to.
Love when you're at LSU, when you've played in the NFL, is just your personality that comes out on the field, especially when you make.
An electric play.
We're seeing some stuff from your quarterback recently that I, for one, have really jumped onto.
We got him talking smack to J. C.
Horn.
He's like, I had three touchdowns specifically on you. He's doing the Michael Jackson in the end zone in Dallas. Speak about your quarterback please and his behavior recently.
Man, he's feeling good.
You know, he's playing confident. And you know, like I said, man, I think as a team, you know, we just inspired. We put a lot of work in this off season, and you know, I think we recognized to that, man like, like, we all we got right like and you know, so I think that ability to just continue to just gel and bond with each other, I think that's a big reason why you know, we're all feeling, you know, pretty confident, you know, going forward, It's been.
The coolest story of the first couple of weeks, and I know you guys want to continue that. Tyron, and I've followed you on Twitter for years, and I feel like you kind of tweet like you play, like it's very emotional, very passionate, and like you're very team oriented. There's a tweet that you had that caught my attention. So let's just bring this up because I mentioned earlier it's your twelfth season.
It makes us all feel old. I can't believe it.
Just finish my twelfth mini camp. I'm about to rewain my draft profile.
Lol.
So Tyron, we did the work and we got the draft profile right here. I'm just gonna give you some gems and we can react to them. So Tyron Matthew coming into the draft quote he can get pinballed around in a crowd like a JV player, average straight line speed for his size, and maybe the riskiest player in the entire twenty thirteen draft.
We're twelve seasons later, You've.
Been an All Pro, you've been a Super Bowl champ, You're still at the top of your game. What's it like to look back on that and hear those soundbites.
Man, it's funny. You know, I think, no, not everybody really knows you. And I think me as a football player, not many people were even to understand me. And you know, when I came into the league, I you know, I thought there was so many questions, but you know, I thought the main question was I don't think people really took into account how much I loved football and how much I was willing to commit to the game and really give to the game. And you know, I think that, along with you know, playing with great players and coaches is a big reason why I'm still playing this game to date. It's because, you know, genuinely in my heart, man, like like I owe this game, you know everything, and I'm still in love with it.
And so, you know, I look.
Back on that now and I say, man, those people don't really they didn't really realize how much this game, you know, really meant to me.
Yeah, and you've you've not only fulfilled expectations, you've exceeded them. And I think everyone at home watching is like, oh, that guy's been a fixture in our living rooms for the last decade, nearly a decade and a half. Look, we showed your interception against Dallas a few minutes ago.
That was the thirty fourth of your career.
But I want to show you the first interception of you're yeah, I want to see if you remember this play and if you could take us through it. Of course it's ironic who it's against, but take us through. Do you remember picking off Drew Brees and it was at Devree Henderson?
Who are you covering on that one?
That was? That was?
Actually that was actually Lance Moore on that play. Yeah, Lance Moore. About two plays before that, I got a pass in the fares call. I actually like jumped a slant route like two or three plays before this, and I said, man, like, once they get once they crossed the fifty, I was like, man, I knew they're gonna try to take a shot, and so I just stayed on top of Lance on that play and just came down with it. Now, we got beat really bad that day, but it felt good to pick off Drew Brees, you know from my hometown crowd.
You know, I'm looking at the names there, You've got You've got Lance More or I'm seeing.
Kenny Stills on the field, Like this is a moment.
In time and you're on those Bruce Arians, Cardinals teams like I have a lot of nostalgia. Patrick Peterson on the other side, like, very cool to see this.
And you have that ball, I do.
I still have that ball.
Actually, I have all my interceptions balls, so I try my best to keep them off. So yeah, man, my my pool, my pool table room is like filled with balls.
I love that.
Well, maybe maybe you'll add one in this next game.
I know you're looking.
You've seen probably a lot of film and I'm sure you watched what happened to the Eagles on Monday night. Now in your experience, what is it like preparing for a team who's coming off of a crushing.
Loss like this.
I mean, you could take advantage of them in any which way, right, But are you going in with this mindset like we're going to make sure we keep them pin down?
Yeah? Absolutely.
You know we're at home, you know we're in front of our crowd, our fans, and you know we want to play. We want to continue to play our best ball. And you know, we know that Eagles are a competitive team. They're a really good team, and you know good teams don't like losing two games in a row. So we know that those guys are going to come in, you know, with their hair on fire.
They're gonna be ready to roll, you.
Know, and get that bad taste out of their mouth, and it'll be a good game. I think both these teams, you know, we we match up, you know, pretty evenly, and you know it's really going to come down to h you know, defense, right, and how can we take the football away and what type of field position.
You know we can give our offense.
So I think defensively, man, we're just looking forward to a great challenge. Sae Kwan is playing great, the offensive line is still humming, and so we we recognize that, you know, we're gonna get the best shot, you know, especially from those guys best players.
Tyron, when I asked you this next question, I don't want.
You to think that I'm baiting you into making some proclamation about the Saints in Week three. I just I'm curious for you what it feels like.
Good Okay, okay, good, okay, good?
But when but when you think that the Super Bowl is being played in New Orleans, when you think that you are a native son of New Orleans, you went to LSU, and now the big game is being played there in February. How much does it mean to you and to your family and your teammates, are the team and the fans that this game is coming to New Orleans and would it feel like to play in it?
Yeah, I mean, you know, like if you haven't been to New Orleans, like you you recognized early on that, like we love to celebrate, we love to have a good time, and so I think the Super Bowl being in New Orleans again is just great for the community. You know, We've got a lot of great people here. You know, we know how to have fun, we know how to party right, and so you know, we we look forward to you know, uh, you know, just being hospitable, you know what I mean. And you know, uh, you know I've played in two Super Bowls one one, you know, and I recognize, like man like that it takes so much, like everybody has to be bought in and you have to be playing your best football at the right time. And you know, so even though we're off to a great start this season, I would like to see us just continue to get better and hopefully you know, hit our peak in November, December, January.
You know, because like.
Like the teams that play well, in those areas are the teams that are really going to have a chance to you know, play for the trophy. But yeah, I mean, it'll be an honor to be able to make it that far. But I recognize too, like Man's it's a lot of work and it's a lot of time.
Between you know, week three and you know, the super Bowl.
It's a great answer, and I'm gonna push you for one more before we say goodbye. You talked about buying, you talked about hard work, Tyron.
Let's talk about you and media.
Man.
You went to the broadcast boot camp and you did it and you kind of set yourself up and then you tweeted like you.
Got a whole new appreciation for.
I don't know, frankly, dude, how was that because you could do this after you want to play?
What was it? Like?
That was eye opening?
You know, I think being able to you know, call games, being able to be in the studio doing radio, like you recognize, it's a lot of work that you know, that that that that people put in, you know, just to talk great about us and to tell great stories and you know, so yeah, man, like it was so fun, Like my brain was somewhat fried towards the end, but man like, it was a great experience. I did a lot of my segments with Logan Ryan and honestly, I'm still playing. But it's amazing to see him on TV now, like calling games, you know, and you know, just a couple of months ago, we were like nervous, you know, in the green room, you know what I mean, getting.
Ready to do that. So it's fun. It's fun. It's fun to see.
You already know that there's a green room, that's where you hang out. Tyron Matthews, stay well, we love having you on the show.
See this weekend.
Good luck our Tyron Matthew and the New Orleans Saints salivating as the Philadelphia Eagles are coming to town. It's time for our first round of Mad Minute. On a Friday, everyone gets sixty seconds on the clock.
That is a share the ball sixty seconds. A reminder.
We start with the Eagles traveling to the Superdome to play the Saints. Saints looks like the hottest team in the NFL right now, Kyle, what do you think about this one?
I just think I want to know if the Eagles defense can stop the Saints. I won't know if any defense can stop the Saints.
They've scored forty plus in the first two games, and the fundattle nugget is they've scored forty plus going back to Week eighteen of last year. It's only the fifth team in NFL history to score forty points in three straight. The Derek Carr Saints pretty incredible. I guess the idea is hold them under forty and you have a chance.
I'm going to pick the game too. I like the Saints in this one to go three and ZMO. Yeah, this is going to be a lot of running in this game. I do love what the Saints did.
Last week, especially as they kind of use Alvin and hit them off onto the edge. But let's not sleep on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles, they've got a strong run game as well. They got a strong running quarterback, and they got a strong runner in Saquon Barkley. I'm looking at this to be a big, big, big win for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Oh okay, nice, I like that.
I think the Eagles are back against the wall right now. I think they've heard everything that's been out there. It was a week of tearing down the Eagles after that Monday night loss. Now I want to see how they respond. You know, we did this all offseason. What's gonna be the They've already hit the conflict, They've already hit the contract, They've already hit that.
Part where people are doubting them.
How does Jalen Hurts lead.
Them out of this in a very very hostile environment.
That play's going to be rocking on Sunday.
Peter respects that these first two try to bait you into picking that game, and you held strong.
You did not.
This next one is my prize, Pony. I am so excited to watch the Texans go to Minnesota. The defenses are great, the quarterbacks are really cool. Which one of these teams, ok Bar gets their first loss of the season. You know what, No, that's negative. Which team moves to three to zero after Sunday.
Well, I'm gonna go on Mary, you guys know what I always and drop him. Kevin O'Connell San Diego State. You know I'm gonna go with him, But I love the way he is coaching this team. Sam Donald oh Man, he is playing lights out. But I'll tell you the thing is, this team just coming off of a win against the San Francisco forty nine ers. They beat the forty nine ers, they got all that momentum. Now they're going into playing another tough AFC to or an AFC team.
I'm going.
I'm going Vikings.
I can't wait to the Texans beat the Vikings and CJ. Stroud grabs Sam Donald, who's older than him, and he talks down to him, says, you got a young fellow, you're gonna go.
I'm kidding.
I actually don't have a take on that situation at all.
I don't think he sunned him if you will.
But I will say they're gonna rode him. I like this quarterback matchup, but I also think Minnesota.
In that building very hard to beat.
I might take, you know what, taking the Vikings over the Texans this weekend.
I had a whole bit lined up that I was gonna do that. Stroud's gonna grab donald old bit. But this is the real best mad minutes. When we steal each other's stuff, that's great.
I like the Texans in this game. The Texans are a top four team in the NFL. I go with Houston on the road.
When don't we start picking in mad minute? I like this trend. Oh my god, this is the title wave.
Of picks happening right now, Rogers effect right now?
Oh okay, all right.
So the Broncos off to a bumpy start as they head to Tampa to take on it hot Baker Mayfield on the Buccaneers team.
Peter is your buddy Sean Payton.
From your old Fox days get his first win in the season.
Yeah.
Remember, I took the Broncos to make the playoffs this year. If they lose on Sunday in Tampa.
You could pretty much write that off.
Statistics tell us that it has to happen.
And I think if this is the case, bow Knicks has to play better. We've already seen Bryce Young be bench, We've seen Caleb struggle.
Bo Nicks might have.
Be the least impressive out of all these quarterbacks through two weeks.
Tampa is a very worthy opponent.
But gosh, I feel like this is due or die for the Denver Broncos if they're actually going to do it this year and not say we've got some long term plan week three?
Who thought of that would be the case.
What a fun topic. Who's looked worse bone next to Caleb Williams. Let's have a debate about it. You know what.
Speaking of Sean Payton, I think he's going to look across the other sideline and look at that quarterbacks that look very familiar. I've seen the thing that's going around this week about the stats of Baker Mayfield.
And Drew Brees to start their career.
At this point, Bakers are better than Drew Brees at this point equally in their careers.
I think Baker wins this one.
Remember I said the top four team, the Bucks are one of them as well.
The Bucks roll, Jamie, I think you're going to be proud of me. I'm not picking one good, but I will say that the Bucks do need to take care of business at home. This is a course going against a weaker team. Don't play down to your opponent, don't.
Let them pully into yeah, the darkness or whatever.
Dan Campbell says, all right, Caleb Williams, Kyle brought him up.
We got to talk about it.
Looking to bounce back against the Colts.
The Colts also had a.
Tough outing against the Packers last weekend. Kyle, how do you see Caleb Williams handling adversity early in his career.
The torches aren't lit in Chicago, but they're out and there's the but tane and there's the Zippo lighters, and they're ready, and they are ready to take the torches to a certain part of the offensive line.
It's not the outside, it's not the right side, it's the left side in the middle.
Without getting too specific, I had Caleb Williams. Hopefully it's gonna do a lot of handing off in this game.
The Bears don't run the ball at all.
They got to get him calm and gotta get him comfortable and for God's sake, keep him upright for two seconds.
You know who I'm talking to.
Go, Yeah, that's a really good point. I think that's how you get a confident Caleb Williams. I think Caleb Williams is going to bounce back. I saw it in his eyes when he got sunned that he really knew that he should be better. So I think he's gonna end up sonning.
For as bad as Caleb Williams has played, he hasn't even held a candle to how bad the Cult's rushing defense has been.
Worse in the NFL.
They've allowed over four hundred and seventy five rushing yards in two games. The Packers they're starting Malik Willis and are like, we're basically going to hand the ball off every play, and the Cults.
Are like, well, go right ahead, have it and do it.
If I'm the.
Bears, I have a game plan.
I'm just running it down the third of the Indianapolis calls and if the Colts can't stop anything, it's been a nice season Indianapolis.
I don't know how to fix that problem.
Okay, Pau's mad minute for a second. Instead of picking games, I just want to clarification here. Peter says, c J. Show did not son Caleb. You think he did Son Caleb Kyle. I just want a clarification in terms of pick games and picking who's on two?
Where do you fall on this?
I think he little brought him. Okay, that's the expression I've been seeing inadvertently. I think he's such a nice guy that can I.
Just weigh in?
Also, can I way into Caleb Williams what a Heisman trophy?
While c J.
Stroud was still at Ohio State watching him?
So I think there.
I mean, if someone wants to say, like it was an absurd thing, it's fun. I also want to say this, let's not go too big on it because we like miked up players.
We like the fact we have accessed.
The more we criticize everything they're miked up for, the less we're gonna get.
So let's keep working this media thing like you're gonna be good.
Keep working the TV.
I've been doing it for twenty years.
We've been doing it in the same amount of time. You're gonna.
Just keep working.
Keep working that, keep working.
Oh my god.
Okay, moving on, that was a good little TV time.
Now the Packers go to Tennessee. It's been kind of a challenging week for will Levis.
He keeps call from the ball up at inopportune times. Malik Willis might at the start of a sudden, Ordan.
Love is practicing akbar. This is all very confusing.
Okay, I'm going to go back into prediction. But before I go back into prediction, Will Levis do not be a repeat offender. You know this right, This is everything that's being said in the locker room. But my prediction for this one, I believe Jordan Love makes us comeback.
That's it.
That's my opinion.
Places my opinion.
I just think he comes back in Okay, if you know something we don't, please share it with me. I'd like to break the news. I would say this though.
The fact he's even practicing gives a whole lift to the entire team, knowing that this guy is coming back. I will also say to Will Levis, keep doing your thing. I don't want to see the turnovers. Obviously, nord is Brian Callahan. But there was a lot of noise made after what Callahan said.
But that's part of being.
A young quarterback.
Don't become gunshy and don't become some conservative, little pitchy.
But you are a big arm baller. Keep on throwing the ball and keep on being yourself.
I'm with you, Peter. Give you a young quarterback.
The note of don't do anything crazy that quickly becomes don't do anything so just stand there and hand off and check down. No, man, you gotta go down. You gotta go down fighting if you're gonna do it. Oh and two is crazy time because Owen three is see you later.
I think the Titan's.
Gonna come out fighting, and you know what, I think the Titans win this game at an upset.
I like, okay, at home when the moshpit.
We still want to check in on Titans New mashpit at their games. That was Mad Minute. That was the first edition. If we didn't talk about your team, keep watching. It's a really fun game that we like to play here on GMFB.
We'll be right back.
Good morning football.
Let's tee up another round of Mad Minute, shall we.
It's sixty seconds on the clock.
There's a very angry buzzer on the back end of it, so you better get your point in and you better make it fast. Kyle, you've been talking about this Ravens Cowboys game, so you get to kick things off in Dallas.
Kyle, Ravens Cowboys give us fifteen seconds go.
I couldn't have passed it to you there, No, I'm trying to pass the ball.
I said it.
Yes, Today Ravens Cowboys will be in the clubhouse leader for best game of the year.
The Ravens.
They can't stop the pass, the Cowboys can't stop the run.
I compared this.
Already to God versus Mahomes and the Coliseum from four years ago. I think this is forty one to thirty eight Dallas in a walk off field goal.
There you go. Aubrey.
Wow.
I'm not going with any predictions, but I do agree with you that the Dallas defense is the weakness of this team. And I look at Lamar Jackson and what he brings with the run game, with his ability to throw in run. They got to watch out. But Lamar Jackson, I think he better have a big game.
After one week, Jamie, we were talking about Mike Zimmers defense and there hasn't been any lag from Dan Clayton, and I was like, that's really impet And then now you go six offensive touchdowns on the first six possessions in your own home.
They go back into Dallas, that's home.
They can't have.
Lamar Jackson right all over them. I have to think the Dallas defense is gonna step up.
What a fun game I must win in week three. You don't get these too often. But like Mike Zimmer, cannot be.
Embarrassed by Lamar and by Todd Monkin.
This weekend just can't happen.
Such a fun game. Not so fun right now for the Dolphins as they head west to Seattle, they are without two a tongue of ioloa for the future.
For now, they're.
Facing a two to zero Mike McDonald led Seahawks team going up against Mike McDaniel off.
Bar talk to us dolphin fish versus the Birds.
Yeah, you know, I think this is a perfect opportunity for them to treat Skyler Thompson like they did with Malik Willis. I think you establish a run game, get him comfortable so he can manage the game, and get the balls to his playmakers. I think that's the simple plan for Skyler Thompson.
My preseason Coach of the Year pick was a guy named Mike McDonald up in Seattle. Very quietly, they've beaten an inferior Denver team, and very quietly they've beaten an inferior New England Patriots team.
If you don't want to give them credit yet, I understand.
I think they're going to dominate this game too.
And I know two is out, but don't get a twisted Tyree can still play, Wadalt can still play, a Chan can still play. Like Dolphins are a solid team. I just think McDonald's defense is clicking and that offense is getting going to.
Seahawks three and oh and guess what a lot of injuries in the NFC West.
One of the unwritten rules of mad minted is that there's any time you're not prepared to answer, you always happen to go first. Cowboys Ravens. I was having earpiece problems. I had no idea what Jamie was saying. I go, Peter, you go, he goes, Kyle give us fifteen seconds though, just completely passed it back to me. The Seahawks are the quietest two and oh team in the league.
That's not the Chargers. Three and oh is three and oh. It's a coming out party. I think at home they get it.
Crazy little TV thing happening here. Peter, I know you're gonna appreciate this. The Kevin Harlan, Trank Green Melanie Collins CBS crew is like eight to o when they have a Dolphins game. Okay, so now usually it's in Miami, this crew does on CBS, but now they go to Seattle. I don't know, maybe they can continue it, or maybe the streak is nat.
Nice is the broadcast crew eight you know?
Or are the Dolphins eight and oh?
Because I think that team is always undefeated.
Who's a and o?
The Dolph Dolphins are eight to o when you got Kevin Harland in the booth. Okay, because you are right, Harlan undefeat did as always Noel's Noel's. Andy Dalton has been named the new starter for the Carolina Panthers, and he'll be under center to take on Vegas. The Raiders are coming off a massive win.
Peter, I go right back to you with a red rifle.
Yeah, what an interesting week it's been. Everyone's pulled their hair out about this. But guess what On Sunday, Andy Dalton's going to be starting under center and Bryce Young as far in the siland I think maybe the worst thing for Bryce Young is Andy Dalton goes out there and wins twenty four to twenty one and just does confident football, and all of a sudden you're like, Wow, Panthers have other players and we.
Haven't been able to unleash them.
I'm really curious toe how this goes.
I don't know if Panthers fans want to see Dalton succeed or want to see him felt miserably so that there's some drastic change and Bryce is put back in. But Andy Dalton doesn't usually just you know, come out there and just you.
Know, just played badly.
Well, what if he does come out and play well and win, But that would mean maybe that they're not the worst organization in the history of sports. It might have been mean that Bryce Young is not the best player in the history of sports. You want some stories from an zero to two team, the thirty second ranked team in the league.
This is going to be take Mountain.
If Andy Dalton first three touchdowns and the Panthers win in Vegas, I'm kind of here for it.
There's not a lot of phrases celebration the Raiders beat the Ravens.
Last week, the Golock bars.
We celebrate that there's a disturbance in the force, and that disturbance.
Is the Las Vegas ras.
Okay, I liked it, Jameel Jones Jones, Yeah, it is exactly right.
Kyle.
You've been.
The conductor, as I just said, of the Cardinals train ever since the true season in the off Sea Let's go. But the problem this weekend, Kyle, is that they are going up against the Detroit Lions, who you've also been big on with Dan Campbell the old experience.
How does this make you feel?
It's very exciting. These are my guys, and I just like a quick public service announcement. If Arizona pulls this off and they beat the Lions. Don't come in here Monday being like, wow, the Cardinals.
I think the Cardinals gonna make to the playoffs. It's too late for that.
All you people are going to be saying that didn't say squ in August and September. Don't be the Johnny come lately?
Is it? Jilly and Johnny?
I don't know what you say, Johnny come lately at this, don't do it.
It's closed.
If you want on now, you have until kickoff to get on the Cardinals caravan and then bump. We're fully committed. Sorry, sir, no room at the inn. Cardinals, get on it now or no, come monday.
Hey, mister conductor, mister conductor, mister conductor, you.
Can get on.
Get on. Here's my ticket, mister conductor. Thank you so much.
Oh man, I just got on the train.
I just come on.
Here.
You want high Peter Lions win thirty one to three. We'll see you guys on.
I'm on the train.
Nobody can get me off now.
You're right.
If you're not on, Jamie, you're not on either.
You're on yesterday.
I got on yesterday.
You think that Cardinals are gonna win this.
Game, Jamie, is that what you're.
Let's see.
You?
Yeah, you want on this train.
No, I'm not getting on the train. I don't think they're gonna win. Okay, all right, that's fine.
I don't want everybody on me and Ockbar are riding.
Let's go.
You have you got elbow room, no share in armrests at this point.
And got room to spread out.
Next up, we're gonna hang in the NFC West.
It's really sads.
Forty nine ers Rams is a really fun game, but there's all these injuries that we have to pay attention to. Off Bar who can fight to the finish to get to the win. It's very American ninja warrior of me to ask him that question.
He's gonna hit the buzzer.
It feels like this game should be, you know, sponsored by Select Kaiser or Rang Day by Night or something like that.
There's a lot of injuries in this.
Game, but I think ultimately it's gonna come down to the team who can dominate in the trenches in that run game. I love the running game that San Francisco forty nine's have been producing. Uh So I'm gonna just leave with it. It's gonna be a run heavy.
Game goes fast.
Then, okay, I'm going to give you a stat We know the Rams are without Puko, we know they're without obviously Cup, and there's Rock Party.
He has never.
Won a game where Deebo Samuel didn't start. Rock Perry doesn't have Deebo Samuel this weekend. Let's see whose injuries matter more. Matthew Stafford usually finds a way to get these wins when everyone else rules them out. We'll see, we'll see, and it might all be in forty nine ers fans in the crowd. We'll see about that too. But Rock Party traditionally struggles.
But he doesn't have Devo on the field.
You know a company called Block Imaging, Peter. Block Imaging manufactures MRI machines. They're the ones who make it.
Unfortunately, listen to the idea that Kittle didn't practice yesterday either.
That usually says Kittle is not going to play.
I like the Rams to get off the schneidt one and two Rams at home.
That's my pig, all right.
The last time Peter had this yesterday in Shuger Trivia. The last time Kansas City went to Atlanta was week thirteen and twenty sixteen. This matchup very rarely happens. It's all read in Atlanta. The two and zero Chiefs are heading to play the Falcons, which finally figure their business out on Monday night. Peter, how did the Falcons stop the chief and brow with a rena?
As a fan of the NFL films, Omaha Productions and Netflix production the quarterback this is a dream for me when you've got Kirk.
Cousins versus Patrick Mahomes and all the different parts that go into it.
But Cousins looked really good the final minute of that game. Can Cousins do it for sixteen minutes? There are injuries all over that Kansas City team right now. I don't know who's carrying the ball. I think Atlanta is prime for an upset here. Kansas City has had two good wins against two really worthy opponents. Can they get it going again with all these injuries. I don't know if they travel on the road and do it this weekend.
You know you know as well that I do.
Peter.
The heart and soul of that program was Marcus Mariota. We got now on the backup the commander, So we have to involve Mariotas.
That was a very strange choice in Netflix. What are You doing good show?
Though, Listen, I like Atlanta to win this game, I really do. I think something special happen at the end of that game.
The Chiefs will be great. They always wipe.
They always drop a few games here and there. We still haven't known if Kelsey's on the roster on the fields, like they're saving him as a secret weapon.
I think the Falcons get the two and one, ok.
Bar ooh okay, yeah, I'm gonna zagg on this one. I do truly believe that the you know that they had a rough start, and I think because they didn't do you know, as well as they wanted to against the Bay I think they come out really, really hot here against the Falcons. I got the Chiefs one in this one. They gotta three peat. You see what I did there, Three wins in a row.
Three peat.
I want to blow through commercial break like off part is the buzzer.
There's a buzzer for the reason.
You gotta go Chiefs.
You gotta drop the mic.
You're like they were laid on the bus. Now to blame your teammates. They're taking up all the time okay, this mad minute
Good morning football,
