Good Morning Football.
That's right, this is Good Morning Football. We are live here in Los Angeles and New York City. That's Kyle Brandt, That's Peter Strigger. This is Michael Robinson. I am Jamie Rdol.
Came on the line, Bosha, give Barkley up the middle, touchdown, Pageles take the lead, Hurts takes it, goes back to Barkley and he scores Patrol and it's a three point league. What a time this will be for an interception. Paul back car steps up Hens, he fires the football.
And it is interception and is intercepted by Lee blood Ship. They pup p right how the Eagles on up, pull on, put you off the front. A wild ending, a huge win.
And guys, now, we are really really excited to have one of the best football players in the world, one of the most real dudes in the world.
We love them, you know, and we got them from the Philadelphia Eagles. Sa Quon Barkley. What's up, Saquon? I'm doing.
What's up, boss? How you doing?
It's so good to see you. We're so excited to have you. Thank you for joining us, man, and we have so many things to talk to you about.
You have this wild offseason, and then week one is in South America, and Week two is this frustrating ending, and then the week three is glorious, Like you've just been all over the place.
How's it been for you emotionally? Just the last few weeks especially, It's been great.
The season been great, the team's been great.
Truly honor and blessed to be part of the Philadelphia Eagles organization. But I've just been kind of Something I've been focused on this year is not getting too focus on the results and just worrying about the process.
And doing all the little things right.
And you know that's why you have.
A frustrating loss a week before, disappointed loss dropped for like I let the team down. But the way I was able to handle that the process throughout the week and not get too worried about the drop, was able to put that behind me real quick, and you know, come up big when when my team needed most.
Take us behind the scenes, saquon because Monday was a game, and then all week it felt like the longest short week in the history of football. All the chatter out of Philly, and yet you guys come out there and not only do you score the game winning touchdown, you get the two point conversion. Take us to the days leading up and what Nick Sirianni was telling you guys, and then what that locker room was like afterwards when you came out of there with.
A w Yeah.
I mean, I think, you know, being part of Philly now starting to learn, you know, when you lose here, it's a big deal.
But obviously not really focusing on the adversity.
Didn't really feel like it was adversities Early in the season, a lot of teams are figuring stuff out.
You know, you really don't want to.
Be the hottest team the first four weeks of the season, to be honest, obviously won to win every game. Just come to work every day, even though after that loss. Just believe in each other and we had to do that during the game. It showed up, you know, we especially in the office.
Side of the ball.
We didn't come out and you know, played a level that we needed to play. Our defense had our back and we all had each other back. And I think that was a big win for us, just to show that, you know, as long as we put our mind to and we believe in each other no matter what, we have the.
Talent, we just got to go out there and executing them. When we do that, where our team to stop.
Sikan, I have to imagine you and Jalen Hurts have a ton in common. You come from these incredible families, these massive college football programs, so much expectation on you as players in the NFL. Adversity hits for both in your career thus far. What has it been like for you too, getting along, getting to know a Jalen Hurts and playing with him, going on the offense together in battle.
Yeah, it's been great, and it started.
OTA's starting the weight room, to be honest, and on the football field, going out there competing with each other, you know, pulling the best out of each other. But one thing I've learned from Jalen I said this week, is you know, I don't know if I've ever been around someone more poison him. You know, I'm twenty seven years old. I think I believe I'm older than him, and I'm learning from him. Just the way he carries himself every single day, the way he comes to work is something I'm trying to add to my game. And you know, I'll see it's a it's an early start to the season, but I look forward to even grown, not just with him, but the rest of the offense.
Say, say with something gone with that, I couldn't wait to get you on TV.
But going down, Man, Look I'm good.
I've been I've been here in safety a lot more recently. Not I'm back at PA once.
Man, you already know, Man, you back at home.
Look, man, I want to ask you this, man, because you average over one hundred yards rushing. Man, you look like you're running with a little You got some spring in your legs. Bro, you had that long run last week. Are you a little pissed off?
Man? You feel disrespected?
I wouldn't say disrespected, but definitely motivated. Let's say that, I'll use those words motivated.
And you need that.
You need stuff like that in your in your career to happen.
And I noticed having player that I am and I know what I'm able to bring and I'm just happy to be able to show that with this team. And you know, one of my favorite quotes that Nick has already said is you can't be great without the greatness Others and I have a lot of great guys around me in a great officer line, and you know, they make my job a lot easier. So I want to go out there and perform, not only for it to show people motivated that I'm still that guy.
I'm still you know, playing at a high level.
But those guys go out there every single day and block you know, I can't say the word the tails off for me.
So ill then to go out there and performing at high level for those guys.
And you have been.
And when you mentioned greatness Saquon, I personally think of the neighborhood Nachos, Chipotle, line, Chicken, and apple Bee's.
I'm not afraid of him at all. I'll get down on it.
I dig it, dude, you want greatness. The Eagles are wonderful. It's a wonderful organization. The neighborhood Nachos go hard. I'm into them completely. What can you tell us about the great folks at Applebee's? And you guys are doing content series like what's all this? And where can we see it?
Yeah, we're dropping content series weekly. You can get all that on Apple Socials. I didn't know where you were going with that one, but Hey, that's the perfect I love that how you got how you got apple Bee's involved. But for me being back in Bensavan High School, I played after every Friday, we will win, We'll go to applebe So it's been an honor and blessing to be working with Applebee's, an official grill and bar NFL sponsor. You know, fifty cents right now, bonus wings, you guys can go get that. I would say those are my favorite, the fifty cent bonus wing. And I'm also going to say the triple chocolate meltdown something.
That I like to ad.
Yeah, when the chocolate melts, when it melts out of the dessert. What's your favorite sauce? What sauce do you put on those wings?
Ta kwon Buffalo? I'm playing. I'm yes, I'm easy. I don't I don't do too much. But Buffalo's might.
Go to Now, you're an original, you got some kick to you, and uh you are everybody's go to flavor when you got to run the ball or get some yardage. So I like the Buffalo, commit to it. But you can hate the bills. If you went to that's cool.
You're going back to an old home rather soon to look at the schedule, it's coming. Have you thought about that game in MetLife in October yet or is that way too far away for you to even focus?
Keep it real, Saqwan, Yeah, I mean I talked to Dan Jones a lot, and you know, I congratulate over the over the game this weekend, and you know I told him, you know Week seven is coming sooner than you think. But that's all this, you know, funny game. I really truly, I have no no hate, no no nothing in my heart over those guys. I'm just I live in the moment. I'm excited while I'm mad. I'm extremely blessed. I'm just a joint opportunity.
So take it one day at a time.
And I know that that that game is around the corner and it's gonna be talked about a lot. But you know when that when that comes up, I'll handle that week and.
You always do.
I mean, that had to be a wild summer. It was crazy for us to watch it. There's a reality show based on your future of your career.
Man, what was it like? Did you did you tune in? Did you watch?
What was that like for you at home?
I tuned in one episode and I think it was episode three, because you know, social media, you really don't even have to go on in social media gives you all the good stuff.
But there was like a clip and.
It was like, so I forgot what Joe said or something like that, and I'm like old on, Like I had to like start remembering what I said during that conversation. But I talked to Jail about it, you know, I talked to a lot of these guys over there about it. It was fun for me, like to see it because I think Cardin has did a really good job. I think, like if you're looking from a fan point of view, like the whole thing, like just seeing how off season operates and how that stuff goes.
Down, I think it was pretty cool.
But yeah, you know, as part of as part of it, part of it, it's part of the games, part of business, and it is what it is.
He's going to try to drive two hundred our met life and know what, respect, you're the best man.
We genuinely have love for you, all of us.
You're one of the good guys in the league, and you're eating good in the neighborhood and everybody check out Applebas's content series and it's really cool.
You came on Saqua.
Thank you guys. Take care of you guys.
Giddy up time for our first round of Mad Minute. There will be sixty seconds on the clock. We will tee up every game this weekend and just wait for your team. We'll talk about them for sixty seconds. Guys, share the ball.
That's the rule.
There is a buzzer.
Try to abide by it does. Kyle Brandt likes to say, we're going to start with Josh Allen and the undefeated Buffalo Bills heading to Baltimore to have a crabcake or two and take on the Ravens on Sunday Night football. Peter, it's Alan, it's Jack.
Who you got? Well?
The Ravens certainly got a very much needed win in Dallas last week.
The question is can they keep it going. This Buffalo defense has quietly been the story for me.
No one's been doing much on them after the Cardinals exploded in that first half of Week one. Can this one come down to a stop when it's necessary. Can they be the team that can stop Josh Allen Because right now we're three weeks into the league, he's likely the MVP. If we were to put our boat votes in right now. It's the most fun player to watch in the league right now. You know that The crazy thing is that Josh Allen's experience has always been highlights. There's always been the big plays. There's always that sloppiness to the mistakes. He's not thrown an interception this year. He's seven touchdowns, zero interceptions.
That's different.
You want something that's different about Alan, different about the Bills. We are not seeing that head scratching, terrible turnover where he's trying to make a play. He's still making all the plays, he's just not making the mistakes. It's the best he's played in his career.
Yeah, so the Bestie's played in his career because he doesn't feel the obligation to get his ball to a certain sumbody about able to look at defenses and and be able to manage that being very very honest and true.
So I'm really looking forward to this game.
Speaking of assessing defenses and looking at it and honest and true. Caleb Williams is back on it. So Soldier Field, the rookie quarterback for the Bears, is trying to get things right as the Rams come to town to play the Chicago Bears.
Kyle, where we go.
I just look at the Bears and there's winless teams right now that really need to win. It's hard for me to find a team that's more desperate for a good afternoon than the Bears, though. But we're going back to Soldier Field for the first time since Week one when they had the comeback against the Titans, when the defense scored all the touchdowns and everything. There's just if you spend time on NFL social media.
They're probably the number one joke.
It's the offensive line, it's the running back, it's the coach, it's the quarterback.
It's all hands on deck.
Just a nice standard twenty to seventeen win would do so well.
And Caleb throws at one touch on, not even two, just one. They need it bad.
Yeah, they do need it bad.
And I think what's going to be a huge benefit for Caleb Williams is he's going to actually be able to watch Matt Stafford across the field and have that example kind of how to play this game at the quarterback level, because he doesn't have that in his locker room. So I'm excited to have Kayleb be able to have that example for him on the other side of the field of Matt Stafford seven.
Minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Rams season was done last year. Last week they were down twenty one to seven, and they found the way to somehow win with a bunch of unhralded players. They celebrated in the locker room. They had a big week of festivities around that win. Now you got to go in to a different time zone and play in an early window against a desperate team. Can the Rams mass unit of players.
Do it again?
It's so McVeigh and Stafford deserve a lot of credit for getting these guys out there.
We watched the continued dominance of Dak Prescott over the Giants Thursday night, thirteenth straight. Kind of a sneaky impressive stat As well is the fact that the Texans have beat the Jags ten out of twelve times since twenty eighteen. So they play against each other this weekend, both coming off of brutal.
Losses last week.
Man say yeah, I mean c J shroud rebound game against a very very weak Jacksonville Jaguars defense. I think their main tackler, their top tacklers out for this week. So it makes it even more complicated for them. So I'm expecting the Houston Texans to rebound CJ. Stroud to look like the CJ. Strow we've been seeing for the past two years now.
I'm actually fascinated to watch Trevor Lawrence in this game, with what he does, what he doesn't do, two.
Hundred seventy five million dollar extension. He's zero and three.
He hasn't won a game as a starter since I think back in Thanksgiving pre Thanksgiving last year.
The Jaguars are on this crazy losing streak with him.
I just don't know what he is, who he is, where he is anything right now watching the game, I don't know if he does. I would love to see a Trevor Lawrence appears like a sign of life here, anything other than he has.
Long blond hair and makes a lot of money.
Well, it's a great study in markets and media and national right. Like Jalen Hurts is two and one and playing pretty good football, but his six interceptions are ripped apart with say is he worth the money? Trevor Lawrence makes way more than Jalen Hurts and hasn't won since. Like you said, Thanksgiving, this is a three hundred day span that it's been for Trevor Lawrence, and I don't know if it's coming here in Houston where it's been a house of horres for him.
The Steelers are undefeated. They go on to Indianapolis. Justin Fields has a career high seventy three percent completion percentage right now, Peter, this is remarkable start for the quarterback and frankly, the Steelers, I.
Mean this has been this has been the story. It's like, Fields, just don't kill us.
Go out there, don't kill yourself, don't run the ball like you like, checking with their head cut off, and we'll win games.
The defense take care of the rest.
They go into Indianapolis, Indy with a huge win last week against Caleb and the Bears. But if I'm the Steelers, I'm looking at this one. Don't let Anthony Richardson get going in this one. Don't let him have his early play because he has those freak amazing moments and then will make his mistakes. If you're the Steelers, just hang tight, don't get beat, and then let Richardson make his misstikes because you know that Steelers defense will optimize it.
Yeah, I worry This one could get ugly for Richardson.
He's thrown six interceptions already.
And the Steelers defense is healthy, and it is ferocious and it is terrifying.
It's the number one group in any team right now in the sport.
I feel like if Richardson throws one early and then they just start on the pass rush, I think Pittsburgh wins this one, and it's ugly for Indianapolis.
Yeah, I'm with you on that one. Guys. I'm really looking forward to not only see t J.
Watt do his thing, but Nick Herbig, who's a fellow Island boy went to Saint Louis High School. I'm looking forward to see this young guy continue to flourish as a defensive end as a pass rusher with all the past rushers that they got on that defense. So I'm really looking forward to that that Pittsburgh Steelers defense survives and capitalize on Anthony Richardson.
Nick Krbig once came on the show front of the show as on representation of spam, so we always love that and Sam Food, thank you, great love it. Pats are coming across the country to pay a visit to the forty nine Ers, and this is not Tom Brady playing his hometown team anymore. This is a forty nine Ers team that suffered a tough loss against the Rams last week. They are injured, and the Pats have a new head coach, Kyle. What intrigues you about this game?
What's going on with McCaffrey.
I mean, there's there's whispers, there's rumors, there's unconfirmed reports that I'm certainly not going to confirm. I don't like anything I read. I don't like that they're one and two. I like that they're home against the Patriots. But if they win this game, that's fine, that's great.
They're two and two.
We expect huge, massive things from the Niners this year, and they're not doing them unless McCaffrey is part of it. My takes on the Niners right now, I have nothing to do with this game, and like, what the hell is going on with the offensive player of the year.
I'd like to know?
Well, I kind of echoed that sentiment there, but I also know what's going on with Fred Warner, and I Fred Warner, just like how we talked about with Dereck Henry and that right stiff arm. If you see Fred Warner coming to you and he has that right arm up and he is about to.
Punch that ball out. You better get down.
So I like Fred Warner against this this New England Patriots offense. They're really struggling to find their way in the passing game, so they're gonna rely a lot on Romandre Stevens and to run the ball. And you don't want to rely a lot on the run game against the San Francisco run defense.
So you know you got two seconds, go ahead. I got zero second. Here's out. That's no I have no text. That's the rule of second.
We're good, okay.
Jan Daniels started his college great Arizona State. He has been in Arizona practicing ahead of the Cardinals game this weekend. After his absolute arrival and debut to stardom Manti on Monday night, we're calling him next gen for a quarterback comparison.
I like that, man.
I'm expecting Jaden Daniels to continue his excellence over there. And I know that Cliff Kingsbury really circled this game going back to Arizona, so I'm looking for to Jaden Daniels continuing to dominate this game both through the air and with his Legs.
Cardinals twenty three to twenty Peter, you can take my time, okay, I'll.
Take a nice forty seconds to wax poetic here. So Kingsbury's the head coach in Arizona.
They go to the playoffs.
The next year, the train goes off the tracks, Kyler and him have a falling out. Whatever it is, nothing's public, but you know, obviously they weren't on the same page. Kingsbury now has a new toy in Jaden Daniels, and it's everything that, like Kyler was supposed to be, and it was supposed to everything that we're going to pour ourselves into. And yet he's using pieces of Kyler's offense, Mahomes's offense, and even what they did with Caleb Williams at USC last year into it, even Johnny when he was that's A and M.
I think this is fascinating.
This is what could have been the Kingsbury and Kyler thing that came out of the gate so hot versus what it is now, which we're.
Already crowning Jaden Daniels. What a fun game that I don't think.
Anyone in America circled back in May when the schedules came out.
This might be my favorite game.
Of the week, I thinks, and when commands is gonna be fun?
Come on, I think my favorite game might be happening across the street. The Chiefs are coming down to play the Chargers. Peter, what is so special we're about to talk about about this game?
Yeah? This is Patrick Mahomes's one hundredth regular season game. He's got ninety nine games under his belt. He's playing the Chargers, a team that he has absolutely owned over the course of his career. Let's get into some historical and factual nuggets that you might not know about Patrick Mahomes' first ninety nine regular season games.
Fun.
I like this.
Good.
Here he is l Ray R.
King.
We been the knee the great Derek Henry, good morning, my man, good morning, good morning, good morning. What's up?
Euro up, dude, And we're so thankful for it. We just watched the video of the Ravens put out. If somebody sneaks up on you with the scepter, you do what you do.
You level them.
Derek, you have won this more than any player in all the years that we've done it, and you've always rolled with it, and you've always been.
So cool with it.
It means a lot to us. It means a lot to me. What does it mean to you? And there it is, y what does it mean to you?
Yeah?
I mean it's a collection of mine that you know, I take take pride in. I want six of them, a plan to win more and yeah, it's a lot of fun. You bring a lot of energy to the game with your segment, the angry sceptor, So you know whatever, I I'm excited, so I know I'm doing something right.
So we're not as excited as we are. And let's get into this.
So you're having this great game against Dallas and you guys are really put it together offensively. Take us through the play because you almost went backwards to catch the dude and you caught him really good. Tell us about this movement and did you know you get him, Like when you get somebody good, you're like, hell, yes, take us through it.
Yeah.
We had like a inside zone play and I cut it backside and no, somebody dump up my feet. I broke that tackle. And when I broke, I was like I saw a grass. I'm like, oh man, I might be gone. And I felt something approaching me from the side now, I just put my arm out there.
And use my stiff on.
I didn't know if he fell, you know, in that moment, I was trying to get to the end zone. And then after the game, I saw the highlight and I kept seeing it and I was like, uh no, but it was a great play, a great momental swing for us. But but yeah, it worked effectively for another time.
So what was that noise that you just made when you had that thought about that run though? Was that one of pity? Do you ever feel badly for the guy? What was that emotion that you felt as you when when you watch the playback.
Yeah, it's kind of like, oh man, you know they're gonna be playing that all week now.
No, no, he has to see that.
You know.
It's nothing personal. It's just it's all business. I don't want you know.
It's never personal. But it's never personal.
But you know what is is the touch that you had with your Week three outfit arrival. It was chef's kiss, very well done. Ahead of that game. I do have a question for you. When you are planning an outfit like that, do you have the scepters mounted on the wall like you run your hands across them at before you get to all of your thousand dollars suits or how does that work when you're planning what you're gonna wear.
To the game. No, I don't do that, but I might a good idea.
But yeah, it was just I felt like, if it matched the thing going back to Dallas Planet Cowboys is going to be a little a little western as something different. Last week, I thought it turned out pretty good and then.
They got a laugh out of it.
But I felt like it was simple.
I liked it.
Dude, you look great and you also look great in team photos. I don't know if everyone's seen this, and Kyle, I know it's just right up your alley. Let's let's bring up the running backs here from the Baltimore Ravens the team photo if we can. This is Justin Hill and Keaton Mitchell and they're on their tippy toes here. Derek talk about this room and who you're playing with here and how these two guys they're like, we can't fit next to this doing a photo. Come on, what are your thoughts on the room you guys have? Because Week one, I'm watching the game against Kansas City and Justice Hill is gashing that defense on his little dragon. It's like, all right, Gus Edwards is gone, Dobbins's gone, But they've got a group here that can really run the rock.
Yeah, they've been you know, they've been been holding down here before I got here.
It's the fun room.
I feel like me and Justice compliment each other well, you know, the disposed to if Keaton had last season and him getting back healthy, him getting back healthy and you know us get him back later as the season goes on, it's gonna be fun.
You know.
They're both explosive and definitely a fun running back room, never a dull moment, as you can see.
In that video.
Yeah, Derek, I mean you're talking about running backs, brother, And first I want to say how much I respect your game and admiration I have for your game.
You know, I think you know, with us being linebackers and running.
Backs were traditionally looked at as the tone setting positions. As someone who understands that language very well, what is your approach to a defender every time you get the ball?
Yeah, I mean either make a miss, stiff arm run through.
You know I like to score, so you know my my approaches try to make a miss, and get to the end zone quickly as possible. But if it don't go that way, you know, I just try to run through them or a stiff farm, which usually works effectively.
All right, let's set the record straight here. We're watching the game and there's talk about Dereck Henry's diet and that this guy wait from about seven pm and eats an avocado and goes to bed.
I don't know what the actual story is, Derek. This is your platform. Set the record straight.
What is your daily eating routine, and let's use this as the point of record moving forward, so everyone's not speculating from this point on.
Yeah, I appreciate that, Pete. Yeah, it was kind of a little give me a little too much credit. Like eating at four or five is not, you know, something that I think every day is sustainable. There's some days that I probably won't eat until four or five, which is days that I'm doing body recovery or doing IVS. But most of the time I usually wait until like twelve to eat a meal. In the morning, I eat like avocado, spinach and kill right as soon as I get in the building. But all season I usually fast until like one.
To two o'clock, but four or five o'clock every day, I would be a stick figure. That's incredible.
So everybody got he doesn't just eat one avocado over twenty four hours, and that's not true.
And stop missrepers. If I diet right, if I.
Eat want avocado, I won't be winning knees.
Let's go, baby, we eat souls. That there, Let's do it right now. So we have now you've wanted so many times, you have so many of them. We really have like the.
Greatest hits collection of all of yours. Do you have in your career, your pro career, do you have a favorite angry run that you've had?
I don't think.
I don't think I do because I planned to win more so, whenever I have them all lined up, Jamie said on the wall, which is the next one? I can assist and pick my favorite woman right now? I plan on winning more so we have to wait and see it's.
The next one.
Dude. That is the perfect answer, and Peter was all over it.
Tom Brady's always asked which was your favorite Super Bowl ring?
And he says the next one, and it's a great answer.
However, Derek, I have some of my favorites, my favorite one, and this is perfect this week.
You against Buffalo under the lights, Josh Norman.
A made guy who we all decides to try you and you throw him into the fifteenth throw.
Here we go, Derek talk us through this.
That one was a little personal, I would say a little bit. But you know, as I was going to the outside, the usually you know, they usually chopp a dial up my feet, and he stayed hot, and I was like, okay, here we go, and then yeah, yeah, that was that was pretty much it.
So he stayed hot.
I was like, all right, right, let's get to the peace Day resistance. The Jacksonville Jaguars still haven't recovered from this, Derek. I'm talking about ninety nine yards of anger, in which you stiff armed every person on the roster, every person in the stadium, every person in the city. Roll the video of Derek against jack Say night.
Derek talk us through it.
Yeah, that was actually when we talked talked about this some years ago. We talked about going ninety nine yards, but right before the play and once I broke out to the left, stiff farm in one corner and got down the field and I started backup approach me.
I'm like, oh man, I can't go down. And I ended up stiff farming him and I kept I'm like, I'm still.
Running, So I kept running and then I thought I saw another white jersey. Bill was actually Corey Davis almost stiff farm him to the end zone.
It's just incredible, and thank you so much for doing this, man side, Do you have anything else you wanted to ask?
Derek? I just before we let him go. It's got a big week. I just want to make sure we cover everything well.
I was actually curious about something. You're going up against the Bills on Sunday night. I know you're not supposed to watch the other team's offense as they're operating, but like, Josh Allen is physical, he's hard to take down. You ever take a peek out if the crowd starts to build or not your crowd, but you know what I mean, like watching what he does and how he operates, and you're like, man, respect.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Josh Allen. You know that's that's my boy. It's good to see see him balling. And they've been playing incredible football as a team, and you know, he's been playing incredible football these last three weeks. But hope it stops a little bit this Sunday. He doesn't ball fall too much. But yeah, A big fan of Josh Ellen. That's my guy.
Cool, big fan of yours. You know.
It's the crazy thing. He's such a great player. He's a two thousand yard rusher. He could be a future Hall of Famer. He has six scepters and he might win another one this week.
He might go back to back. Derek Henry, you are the best. You are our king. Show up that scepter one more time. There we go, everybody, Let's go Derek, let's go get after it. Baby, Let's go Derrick Henry the King, You're the best. Thank you for joining us.
So cool.
Thanks Derek.
Matt minute part two here on GMFB, we take you to Atlanta with an NFC South showdown. The Falcons are hosting the Saints's cousins. It's car Mantai.
You go, first Hoodettes.
Thank you, coach kobiek you using Alvin Kamara the way I said to use them. Don't use them the rock, use them to catch passes and score touchdowns.
So thank you.
I'm looking forward to that happening this weekend against the Angry Birds.
So that's my take on the hoodats.
Nice listen. I love this game, I love this rivalry.
I want to see Kirk Cousins and I want to see Card to find which one of these guys is real.
I feel like they have so much in common.
They're always pretty good, they're good guys, they're roller coaster.
I think this is a big game for both of them. For the Saints.
Just this fallacy that happened in the first couple of weeks are the legitimately good Falcons need to win.
One and three is massively different than two and two. Peter, I think Atlanta wins this game.
Mantai says, like Kuda, thank you to Kubiak. That was great for the first two weeks. What happened last week the offense went to sleep and they couldn't stop satkwon Barkley. So we already crowned the Saints. We already did the Saints thing for two weeks, and then all of a sudden, just when you want to believe in Derek Carr, just when you want to say Dennis Allen's got this thing, the Saints layan egg on national television and they do so in historic fashion, not being able to score at all. Let's go and see what these Saints are. Two and two after four games, is what we thought of the Saints three and one. Well, then they can bring back those narratives from the first two weeks.
In the term of recent memory. This one's got to be a little uncomfortable for the Philadelphia Eagles. They're going back to Tampa Bay. One of the strangest endings to a really ridiculous end to a season for the Eagles. They go to Tampa Bay last January and they lose in a playoff game that ended up being the last for Jason Kelsey. It was brutal Eagles Bucks.
Peter, go Jamie.
You chose the Buccaneers to beat the Broncos last week in your Survivor pool, and it cost you bragging rights. It costs you the opportunity to puff your chest this week. It also costs you the opportunity to continue on with the segment the Survivor Pool. So I'm gonna say, shame on you Buccaneers, and shame on you Tampa Bay for not showing up.
Show up today, show up this weekend, and let's give an effort here.
I know they're dealing with some serious weather down there in Tampa, so my thoughts and prayers are with everybody. But I also think this game is very important for the Buccaneers if they are Jimmy playoff team.
Yea, My wife and I were literally sitting on our couch last night watching the Weather channel. Ken Torre was out there, like Jim Ken Torre's doing his thing. It's very serious.
If you're anybody in the area, just listen to whatever they're telling you to do. Evacuate otherwise. In this game, CJ. Gardner Johnson is going to show up right. I want him.
Mike Evans sometimes will go off. I'll have a short fuse. Baker runs pretty hot. I want to see who's head he tries to get into this game.
It's worth watching, Peter, how.
Dare you to pull back the TV curtain? I had an entire read that I was supposed to reference about the Buccaneers and how they wronged me, and I just blew past it, and I tried to be the bigger person, and instead I talked about the Eagles and how bad they were at the end of last season. And then you had to bring it back. You ripped the band aid off. I do not appreciate it, but I also kind of respect it.
It's the only note I have on this game that the Buccaneers toss Jamie some bragging rights and.
I didn't even get the goa. He passed the ball.
He passed the ball.
That's how well Peter knows me. It's how competitive I went. I just wanted to get this. I just want to get it over with, all right. The Chiefs are coming to town. They're coming aboute hundred yards from where we sit at this table. Jim Harbaugh gets his shot at the first time, taking on Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs Kyle. That's kind of a tasty matchup.
I didn't see it coming. It's great, and I'm so mad about the injuries.
I hate to say this, I'm very mad about this because I've been looking forward to this game since the Dea Harbo was hired, and I'm like, this is the one we got someone. We have a real adversary for Andy Reid and the Chiefs and division a made.
Guy with the quarterback. And it's not just the offensive.
Tackles like her I don't know if Herbert is Herbert's and Bosa's her. It's just it's all very complicated. Thankfully, they'll play a second time. If the Chargers lose this one, they'll be like, let's get him full strength. I'm sorry to say that to the Chiefs.
But you know it as well as I do.
Yeah, you know, can they keep up? That's a big thing. And Irwin James is out this this week his suspension. Yeah, but can they keep up?
I don't think they have the ability to keep up if if they go far behind.
So we got to keep up in this game. And it's gonna be a hard thing.
I mean, we just covered Patrick Mahomes in this one hundredth games, so it's going to be definitely a challenge for the Chargers.
Can we see Travis Kelcey historically own the Chargers, especially in that building, he's been prolific and he hasn't been Kelsey has fewer than thirty five receiving yards in each one of these three games so far they've won, and he was great on his podcast like, I don't care. We're still winning and the offense is good. I think we're due for like one hundred and sixty yard Travis Kelsey game if they have that still in the bag.
I'm not sure they even do.
The audacity that Taylor Swift had to not show up in Atlanta last week and was very concerning for the tabloids. So will she come to La We'll see. It's the Browns. They're headed to Las Vegas. Antonio Pierce said he had to make some business decisions or were made to see what happens there.
Manti, Well, I'm interested to see what those business decisions are.
Like, I'm just going to be the quarterback. Who are you going to put in there?
Like you are?
If you put Mitschew in there, how long are you going to keep him in there if he doesn't start doing well? So I'm interested to see what business decisions those are. For the Raiders going against the Browns mm hmm, yeah, no kidding. I'm interested to see that too. We were told big changes coming. I'm also fascinated by the Browns. Is one of these teams after three weeks, I just don't know what the hell they are. That Shawn Watson thing is always interesting.
I don't know what he is.
I remember starting and we spent all of August being like, Wow, the Browns are really good. I just don't know what I'm getting for Watson. I've seen three games and I still don't know what I'm getting. And if I had to choose, it's not anything good. So bizarre game between two one and tours Peter, I don't.
Know who to pick here.
And it seems like the organization and the coaching staff and the front office is ten toes down on going with the Shawn.
And just like Steady, we got the Shawn Watson.
We got.
Look, they could have turned to Flacco. We know that's not the long term answer. They also have Jameis Winston who has played a.
Lot of football in this league.
And if things go off and they start off slowly for Cleveland, does thefanski have the courage and does he have the freedom to do that and say, you know what, let's mix it up and let's go to Winston Because I think there are some Browns fans who are clamoring for some Jamis action. If things go and start off slowly on Sunday.
All right, shout out to the crew at MetLife. They are flipping the field as we speak to go from Giant signage to Jets signage because the Broncos are in town. And they are trying to ruin the Jets' future international trip to London. Peter, can the Broncos pull off another upset?
Yeah? Look, if you're a Jets player or a team, do not overlook this team. I know the trip to London's coming. I know you're still feeling yourself from that Thursday night game. But Rogers was big on this. How do you handle some positivity? How do you handle some success? Because I assure you this, Sean Payton and those Broncos are feeling pretty good if they're beating in Tampa and they spent the week in West Virginia at the Greenbrier getting ready in there like on one of these road trips us against the.
World tipe deals. Y. Yeah, it's a one o'clock start.
It's not easy for a West coast team, but they've been on the East Coast all week preparing for this. Do not overlook the Broncos Jets fans, and do not overlook the Broncos Jets players.
I'd like to see a deep dive on the winning record of those Greenbrier teams.
We talk about the Green Brier every year. Did they win?
How is that shout out to our guy will Parkinson who gave this nugget on Aaron Rodgers. When Rogers in his career has nine plus days of rest off by for a long week and he's at home. He's done that thirteen times. He is thirteen and oh with thirty two touchdowns. He is got incredible and he has never lost. So I hope the Greenbrier's nice guys mince on the pillows, enjoy and go ahead.
Man time.
I don't know how much time I got left, but about Garrett, Garrett Wilson, Garret Wilson, good one great man time.
I have a question for Manti. I got one case.
You give us ten seconds on the Greenbrier and those trips at the Saints take what do you got?
I never was there? Did that?
All that good stuff happened?
After me.
We went back to New Orleans and had training camp there and.
That was a boy, boy, what I tell you it was brutal. That's that was my training camp. I wish I was at the green Brier.
Had a lost farms for the Greenbrier sounds like a place of the Vikings are going to go. Yet in London, they're not going there yet. First they have to make a stop in Lambeau to take on the ever hated Packers Kyle Vikings Packers, but Minnesota's undefeated.
I think they will stay defeated because I don't think we're gonna get Jordan love I know this is one of the biggest topics here, and I'm not an insider and I'm not a doctor.
I just see the bigger puzzle of this thing.
I don't think you do even anything resembling rushing Jordan Love back, even if he's practicing, he's running around. Why wait, we want to see this guy for the next twelve years.
You're two and one.
If you lose Week four to the Vikings, you'll get him back, get him healthy. I think the Vikings beat Malik will as my prediction.
I think there's something to beating the Packers in Lambeau.
I want to live on. I think Sam Darnold.
Going in there and being able to do that would be a major, major statement. And also like that, like kickstart to okay, we're not just a nice story in September, like we're talking about Super Bowl contender right now.
I also think that this.
Green Bay team is really well coached and their defense is much improved.
From last year, and I think it's.
Gonna be a tough task for him and Aaron Jones going back to Lambeau.
I want to see if Aaron Jones scores a touchdown, that's they do the Lambeau leap.
That's really what I want to see. You do the Lambeau Leap. And I hope he does it with some Green Bay fans. That's that's that's what I want.
But the thing about Aaron Jones is that like he wouldn't get shoved out of the stands, like they would hug him.
They love him so much. I don't want to.
I want to see that.
I want to That would be a good question if you were to jump up into some cheeseheads, would they hug him versy?
I don't know.
I would probably guess they would push him back. He's wearing purple. It's kind of what you have to do. But Jamie, you might be right. What do you think? Man tal Well?
He said in his interview that if he did score a touchdown, he'll do the Lambeau Leap, but he'll find a Vikings fan.
I was like, bro, do what the I want to see that, you know what I mean?
I want to and it'll be cool if they just embraced them. That would be cool for me to see the Packers fans I think would do that.
Fall.
Patrick Mahomes is playing in his one hundredth regular season game on Sunday when he suits up versus the Chargers at SOFI Stadium. See Mahomes has had objectively the best start to a career in NFL history at any position in any era. He has the most wins for a quarterback through one hundred games, surpassing Tom Brady and Roger Stallback with that Chief swin over the Falcons last Sunday night. He also has the most passing yards through one hundred games, smashing Matthew Stafford's previous mark that he set passing touchdowns. Yes, he's already broken Dan Marino's record through one hundred games before this season even started. I had some questions about the first ninety nine games of Patrick Mahomes' career, and I thought you at home.
Might as well.
Here's some facts and figures worth taking home with you as you watch him suit up for number one hundred on Sunday. Question which opposing team has Mahomes beaten the most in the first ninety nine games of his career.
That would be the.
Denver bronc of those ninety nine games. Mahomes has beaten the Broncos already twelve times in his career. All right, But the Broncos have had a million quarterbacks under center. So the question is which opposing quarterback has.
He beaten the most? And there's your answer. It's Derek Carr. He's being car eight different times, one on one. All right. How about some history. Who was his first touchdown pass to? What was the first touchdown?
How about Week one against the Chargers when he got the start and he threw this dagger to Tyreek Kill a little yack action here, fifty eight yards. It would be one of the great starts to an NFL career as far as first times throwing a touchdown.
All right?
What about interceptions, Well, we would have to go to the year before that where he started the final regular season game against the Broncos with Alex Smith sitting.
And Darien Stewart got him in one.
This is an interception in Darrin Stewart Week seventeen, twenty seventeen, had the first interception of Patrick Mahomes' career.
All Right, So how about the other side of it, Which.
Opposing starting quarterback has beaten him the most in the regular season? How about that guy Josh Allen, despite not being in the division, has the most wins head to head against Patrick Mahomes. He's got three, all right? So which players intercepted him the most? Who's got the most picks off Patrick Mahomes? You saw him have another one Sunday night against the Falcons. Justin Simmons has six interceptions against Patrick Mahomes. I know it sounds crazy, but Justin Simmons has Patrick Mahomes's number. He always gets him. Six different picks for Justin Simmons against Patrick Mahomes far and away the one player who has the most all right, Which players sacked him the most in the first hundred regular season games of his career?
We go those guys.
Cat, that's Trey Hendrickson and that's Max Crosby.
Each one of those players have sacked Mahomes five times. All right, let's go milestones here.
What did Mahomes do in his twenty fifth three of their season games. Well, in that game, he threw for four hundred and forty six yards and three touchdowns.
However, the Titans got.
The best of him in a crucial thirty five to thirty two loss in Tennessee.
This was a big one. This was Veterans Day weekend.
The Titans got the best of the Chiefs and it kind of set the Chiefs going on their Super Bowl run.
All right? What about his fiftieth game.
In his fiftieth regular season game, Mahomes slew for two seventy eight and five touchdowns in a forty two to thirty win over the Eagles in twenty twenty one Andy Reid.
Going back to Philly.
If you remember, that was the play where Kelsey's looking like what am I doing?
What am I doing? It was all at decoy. They threw a touchdowner was one.
Of five that he would have in Philadelphia that day.
All right? What about the seventy fifth career game.
In his seventy fifth career regular season game, Mahomes threw for two hundred and twenty three yards and a touchdown. But the Bengals, it's the one they got the best on the Jamar Chase game. If you remember, Chase had two big touchdowns. Mahomes lost that game too. So in his twenty fifth and seventy fifth career games, Mahomes actually has losses. How about this, Patrick Mahomes has thrown for four hundred yards ten times.
In regular season games.
One out of every ten times he's taken the field in the regular game, he's thrown for four four hundred. He's thrown for less than one hundred yards literally just once. And additionally, he has more four hundred yard games than he does with fewer than two hundred yard games nine.
So he's thrown for more than.
Four hundred and ten less than two hundred and only nine overall. In his first ninety nine career games as a regular season quarterback, the Chiefs have won seventy seven of those games, seventy seven of ninety nine in the regular season. Sunday's going to be number one hundred, and it feels like Patrick Mahomes is just getting started, all right, guys. It's a lot of numbers, a lot of figures, a lot of names that we just threw at you. Man, Ti, you went up against this guy. What are your thoughts on Mahomes ninety nine games through his NFL career?
Well, you know, I never went against Patrick like the Kansas City Chiefs team I played against.
I went against Alex Smith.
And so I'm grateful that I didn't get I wasn't part of those ninety nine games because the fact of the matter is this, Patrick Mahomes is such an icon.
Like before Patrick Mahomes.
I don't remember any young quarterback practicing this side arm throw. Like everything was this mechanical over the shoulder, perfect form thing. Now everybody's getting this baseball sidearm throw and they're doing these Patrick Mahomes like plays.
It's he's that guy that I.
Remember when Drew Brees and Peyton Manning they all retired that everybody was saying that man is and this is the end of an era, and you kind of thought to yourself, like who's next. And then Patrick Mahomes comes along, Josh Allen comes along, and you know, for those at home, like, really relish this thing man like you don't get these kind of quarterbacks. And by his numbers, he's the greatest of all time. So you know, it hats off to to Patrick Mahomes continue to do his thing and continue to be at the icon for all these young quarterbacks out there.
The numbers are great.
He's so athletic. When you watch the throws that he's making, like he's just flipping this thing like it's.
A pebble into a pond.
It looks so easy for him. But the one that blew my mind, Peter, is how unfair it must be that one out of every ten opponents has to deal with a four hundred yard Patrick Mahomes day. One out of every ten times like that, that's almost twice a season.
The way we're going, listen, my favorite part of it, the Justin Simmons thing is crazy. It's really really weird. It's not only that he's gotten Mahomes more than anybody.
Justin Simmons has no defender, has gotten no quarterback currently more than he's gotten Mahomes.
That's the longest streak, longest combination to anybody.
And I love it because you mentioned the Broncos how much he's done them, So Simmons always interception, but Mahomes still wins regardless of that. The one thing that you left out, Peter, is that a huge part of his first hundred games. I go to summer of twenty eighteen where Peter is telling Good Morning Football.
I'm telling you this, Mahomes.
Is gonna be a thing for the Chiefs just say, We're like, yeah, now, Texas Tech, and he's like, I got.
All the stock in Mahomes. We're like, I'm sure you do, Peter.
And now it's the biggest bet you've ever made, the biggest bet you've ever got.
Thank you.
And I would say this one of the cool things about Mahomes' career is that there was a bunch of those years with Tyreek Hill and then guess what he loses what is arguably the best wide receiver in the sport and the biggest nightmare for defensive coordinators in the sport. And the numbers don't stop, and the wins don't stop. They just keep on marching along and he finds with other guys. We could do with Mahomes love fest all we want. The truth of the matter is he hasn't faced Jim Harbaugh, and that is who the opponent is on Sunday, and Harball was brought in there to get the best.
Of Patrick Mahomes.
Like charges are for real, Whether Joe Walt and Rashaun Slater are in or out, if the charges are for real, they're gonna have to Mahomes at some point over the next several years.
I'm wondering what you guys think of this just observation about Mahomes because it kind of along with you said man Ti about the icon. Thing is like there are players in our careers, in our twenty something years covering football longer for others that you remember, like that one time I got to cover Tom Brady and now I am remembering back to having Chiefs games where Alex Smith was starting, but Mahomes is sitting on the bench. I remember seeing the name plate him sitting there watching Alex Smith quarterback, which was CBS games. They were one o'clock games because the Chiefs were not this marquee team anymore. Like I have memories now of that, and now he is just like shoved into the spotlight Sunday night football, Monday night football. There's only a few players that I think for media members, you just have this image of covering them, whether or not they were playing in their presence.
Yeah, I was, I remember I was there. I remember.
My only memories of Patrick Mahomes is my first year with the Saints. Sean was heavy on Patrick Mahomes, Like Sean Payne really wanted Patrick Mahomes and we got Marshaw on more and that that turned out really well for the Saints. However, it's one of those scenarios where you're like, man, if Sean had that and had him under a Drew Brees for those amount of years, like I mean, it would have been I mean, it's still scary, but dang that that's that. I know the Wodats would have been really really happy with that situation.
What could have been, Well, Chargers take him out this week? Hundred games? Is that the one hundredth game
Mo
