Good Morning Football.
A third of the way through the NFL season, Welcome inside Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. Live here in La. It's Monday, October fourteenth, Kyle Brent, Peter Schrager sits in New York City. Akbar Barsabia Milla, and myself, Jamie are at all here in LA.
I really wanted to wear a.
Jersey from a Texas hey that is banging right now, the.
Texans, not the Dallas Cowboys this morning, just because not a lot of people wearing Cowboys this morning. Peter, let's do Sunday night football. Here's the business we're gonna do Sunday Night Football. And then we're going to talk about a game that had most importance yesterday and a team that absolutely shined out of the North Bengal Giants.
Peter, you go first.
Yeah, let's go to MetLife Stadium last night, where Joe Burrow said after the Bengals Week five loss to Baltimore, We're just not a championship level team right now.
How would they do? Now?
It's a ten point game, as Chase Brown puts it in.
Giants have a chance.
They would miss another field goal and they would lose seventeen to seven. Giants have not won at home all season, and they honored the Super Bowl winners from seven to twenty eleven.
Yet again, at half time, Sean O'Hara was down on the field, making for the thirtieth week in a row.
And all right, Cowboys Lions.
Dak's never lost to the Lions, but this is different Lions. As you know, this reached the point in the game where the Lions kind of started just messing around, like just having fun, like just trying things. It was like they're going through their parents' liquor cabinet, some of this and some of this, and they.
Were just intoxicated at the Cowboys expense.
Remember this is in Jerry world. And then we had hijinks, you know the history.
We got.
We got two linemen checking in is eligible, then they run it. They did throw one to Decker covered isn't complete another point of the game, but they're just destroying the Cowboys, absolutely annihilating him. As the game was never close, and then the entire game changed, the entire day changed, and hopefully not more than that changed for the Lions. But this is the heart and soul a lot of ways of the whole team. Aiden Hutchinson goes down, we already know it's a broken tibia.
More from Raps.
She on that shortly be guys, he's done.
The air cast over a huge, huge hall was cast.
Over the game.
Forty seven to nine is an amazing outcome and the Lions are four and one, look like the best team in the NFL. But this is a huge deal by dating Hutchinson's and afterwards there's a visibly shaken Dan Campbell and Jared Goff on the Aiden Hutchinson injury.
Yeah, look, those are hard. Those are hard moments, and you know that's hard for everybody when you you know you're standing there and that's one of yours and and something like that happens. But you know, just look, our guys have done a good job and our coaches just getting them refocused on the job ahead of you, because look, if you dwell on that too much and you start playing a little timid, that's when you get hurt.
He's a guy who's part of the heartbeat of this team and the leader does everything right. He's a great teammate, and to have him go down like that and to be visibly upset is.
Tough for all of us.
And he will be fine. You know, he's gonna come back eventually, whenever that may be. But knowing him, he will be fine and he will bounce back.
My goodness, San Campbell has done two things right in Detroit. He's produced a really good football team and those players love each other. And it starts at the top. You can see Dan Campbell visibly shaken with the outcome of Aiden Hudginson and what happened to him yesterday. Ian Rappibor, welcome inside. Good Morning Football. Just a brutal loss defensively, but also emotionally for this team, Kyle said, the heartbeat at times for Detroit is Aiden Hutchinson. What is the latest with their star defensive player.
Yeah, hard to overstate how crushing an injury this is Ford Detroit on the field and also in the locker room. One of the really good guys that we know, Aiden huh Utchinson, now expected to be out for the season with this fractured tibia.
You saw the emotion right there from the players.
It was like that on the field both sides crowding around them, trying to lend support, do anything they can just to make it feel a little bit better for what is no doubt one of the worst moments of Aiden Hutchinson's life.
It is a.
Broken leg, as I mentioned, expected to be out for the season, should be fine for twenty twenty five. Based on the initial word, the initial diagnosis, that is good news. There was quickly transported to Barrow University Medical Center in Dallas.
He had surgery last night.
My understanding as he is expected to come back to Detroit in the coming days, so it may not be immediate. First and foremost, the attention being paid to Aiden Hutchinson. Nothing is more important than Aiden Hutchinson's health and his well being right now.
If it takes time, it takes time.
As for how Detroit will replace him, you simply can't. This is a potential defensive Player of the Year candidate, just absolutely crushing for all involved here, guys.
Well, really well, Sadie. We appreciate that domination oftentimes the word we use for Aiden Hutchinson, and now the Lions will have to carry that stick without him for the rest of the season, and if they play anything like they did against the Cowboys for the entire afternoon yesterday. I think they'll be just fine.
Peter.
We could do the low hanging fruit thing here and go Cowboys, Cowboys, Cowboys at home. But we're not because the Lions looked excellent yesterday.
They sure did.
And what's lost in all the aiden Hutchinson, you know sadness, is that in that locker room after the game, they were beyond fired up, giving out game balls to Jared Goff and to Brian Branch and then Dan Campbell himself got one from Golf who said you are our rock, and this woman a lot to you going back to Texas, where you're not only from, but where you played as a cowboy. I have to look at that Lion's offense and say the rest of the league took notice and said, wait a second here, this is what this thing could be. This is not a second straight week. They played on a Monday night two weeks ago against the Seahawks and poured it on. And then they go into Dallas and this was like a picasso for everyone to watch. It was Ben Johnson's best moment, and it was trick play here and trick played there, and they were piling it on, one after another after another, and it was fun. It was like, here's go off the double reverse. You're gonna get laporta deep and it was Okay, are they gonna call the dog dogs off? No, they're not gonna call the dogs off.
They're gonna keep on going.
Trick played like this and then what a pass there?
But they're going for it. They're throwing to the lineman in here pen.
Yes, this is Ben Johnson saying for the rest of the week, watch out. Not only is it, look at the scot look at this, get.
Them off all lineman.
Late in the game, they're sending out offensive lineman and Ben Johnson's having a laugh here.
And I'll tell you it. Does it look like they're showing.
Up the Cowboys a little bit?
Maybe, I don't know.
It's the NFL like stop us if you want to.
Cowboys got paid. The Cowboys do get paid.
They get to play.
I will say this though, that is a message to the rest of the league.
That was a national game.
Tom Brady's on the call saying, man, I kind of wish I could run.
An offense like this, which I was like.
Wow, okay, interesting, all right, I say, Tom, what are you saying, because there's some quarterback injuries around and I'll tell you that seems can use you. Long story short, I see that the schedule has them playing and probably their biggest game of the season they play the Vikings next week. I think there was a bit of showmanship and a bit of hey, guys, you're on your bi I know you're watching us. This is what's ConA against you next week.
Shocking off.
You know, that was Ben Johnson and Dan Campbell not making a message to the Cowboys, not saying something to the thirty other coaches. That was a shot across the boat to the Vikings saying, you might be undefeated and enjoying all the buzz right now, but we've got a playbook that goes endlessly and we've got an offense that's going to punish you if we can.
And Peter, they came out and they were like, you know, we are going to assert our dominance over the Dallas Cowboys. That's what the Detroit Lions did and it was so cool to watch to see the physicality up front on both sides of the ball. But this reminds me of something. I mean, because there's not a lot to analyze here. The Dallas Cowboys got beat, they got whooped, all right. But you know, I started off my broadcast journey, you know, going into the booth as a color commentator, and one of the things you had to do was you had to prepare for blowout games. So you had all of these like subnotes of things that you know you might get to in case of a blowout. This is exactly what the Detroit Lions offense did. They said, all right, here, we're gonna go through a script. All right, boom, we're scoring, Boom, We're gonna go through this. We go, and then they just go, you know what, you know, we've got the bike ins coming up. How about we start practicing on this and maybe showing this and maybe like, we haven't practiced this since training camp. Heck, we haven't practiced since mini camp. Let's do it now against the Cowboys. That's how defeated the Cowboys looked. They were emptying things and practice and stuff on the Cowboys offense and defense. It was amazing to watch now, it was incredible to watch, and it's incredible to watch the show collectively right now, trying to start on a positive note, and it's Monday morning. We just had some great football and Bears, Ravens, Packers, Texans, the Buccaneers scored fifty one point points and I have to talk.
About Aiden Hutchinson an injury. Yeah, this is absolutely horrible. I mean, you try to find any sort of gallows humor around this.
There's a meme.
I see sometimes some of you guys have seen this one, and it's Warrio from Mario Kart and he's like looking down in the clouds and he says, I won, but at what costs. It's really really heartbreaking. Eight Hutchinson is out. And if we were engagement clicking right now, just going for that, we would say, well, there goes to the super Bowl. I don't think that's true. I'm sure others will say that today. But if you were to look around the Super Bowl contenders, non quarterbacks that you could least afford to lose Aiden Hutchinson his way up. There's one of the most important players on a Super Bowl contender. It's like, you look at what the Niners are going through with McCaffrey. It is that big of a deal and I hate that I see it, and it's like, outside of golf, I think he might be their most important player. He might be the best player on the team, and it's not a high ankle spran where he's gone for six or seven weeks like he is done.
They will have to go through.
Those playoff games, the Packers, the Niners, the Vikings, whoever it may be, be without their sack leader, not just their sack leader, the league sack leader. If you look at the rest of the pass rushers on the Lions, you have to add up all of their sacks this year just to equal with Aiden Hutcheson has had. And I wish there was this silver lining, and this I don't have a silver lining.
It sucks.
The injury gods are cruel and they demand sacrifice. And we're having this dream season, this dream game, and I love the hijinks too, and I love Lineman catching passes and I love this. I think maybe they just lost their best player for the season, and I feel terrible about it as I picked the lines and win the Super Bowl. It is going to be so much harder now and Dan Cambl's gonna have to be so much better, and that offense better being credible because they are missing that monster and their best pass rusher their best defensive player, de treit to. I have no message here this morning other than the sucks and just stick deep. And Dan Camp's gonna to do the same thing, but I have to address it's too big of an injury, not just for the Lions, for the entire league.
Top of the categories for Aiden Hudginson at sacks, pressure's quarterback hits, but his impact goes so much far beyond the numbers. If you were doing kind of clickbait stuff this morning, to Kyle's point, it would be the Lion season is lost. Their emotional heartbeat is down for the year. The other thing that I did kind of go down the Ali branch of yesterday, Peter was at the same time that this Lions game was being played, the Raiders are playing the Steelers and Max Crosby, I guess, did a love shove to one of his coaches. They need to come out and say, no, I love that guy. It's all good, But the amount of people that were obsessed with saying that Max Crosby, who went to college in Michigan, should now be traded for to bring him from the Raiders to the Detroit Lions. Peter, can you speak on this whatsoever, because it was a ground swell at moments yesterday he.
Shoves Mike Caldwell as a respected coach, and then everyone, well, he's unhappy and you'd already hurt him, grouped in with the Devonte Adams. Think Crosby himself said he's a raider for life, and then after the game, of course tweeted and talked about in the press conference.
He was just frustrated.
But I'm not an opposed to speculation, and they just lost their star pass rusher. He's a Michigan guy and makes a lot of money.
Oh no, let's see.
You know, I will say, I know that they just elevated Isaac Uuku, you know, up from the practice squad for the Detroit line. But if you're talking about speculation, I mean we still have a son Reddick out there. Just you start thinking, like, you know, throwing his name in the conversation, because to what you're saying, Kyle, that is a very hard position. Not everyone goes finds a pass rushing guy like a Aiden hutcheson seven and a half Sex. You got to take all the guys on that D line, like you said, to be able to add up to that type of impact. That impact will be missed. You know, I'm wishing him well. I know his teammates were, you know, shooting him love and text messages. So when he wakes up from surgery, you know, it feels good to know that you're still remembered even though you're out for the season.
Yeah, and look, they play the Vikings this weekend. This is it like put up a shut up. They put up forty seven points for doing a parade, and we're also like, all right, well they lost their best player.
It is a quick turnaround. That is the NFL. So we're gonna do the congratulations on the offense and we're gonna apuy for aid and houches. But like the football games go on.
So let's see who does step up Sunday, and let's see if they can get off the mat and do it.
Because it's a.
Very odd feeling. Kyle's right, Warrio meme, whatever it is. You're celebrating the win, but gosh, you have this whole when you wake up Monday morning and say, wow, our best player.
This is gone for the season.
It was a great exercise by everybody to go positive.
For the Lions.
It was a great day for them forty seven points on the board. Dallas, We'll get to you.
Don't worry.
We have two hours of Good Morning Football here to talk about the Cowboys. The Buccaneers put up fifty one. Let's talk about them. We ought more games to come on our show. Baker in the Bucks all over the Saints yesterday, but be Ster Rattler kind of held his own too in a strange way. If you're watching that game, Tampa Bay, are you putting them in serious contender talk in the NFC.
Pile, Well, we're in serious contenders for still playing Crazy Train this week. Whatever agreement we got with Ozzy Inc, lets us continue.
To play it.
We'll probably play Bark at the Moon next. And look at Chris Godwin in the Bucks fifty plus.
That game was electric. Who knew Rattler versus Baker loved it? Had to tune into it.
We talked for weeks and weeks about this game. Commanders Ravens didn't live up to the hype. Was it surprising in anyway? And did somebody steal the show? Enjoy this Ozzy Osmoor hair beater?
He still have Ozzie olsmore though.
Now I'm telling youth like Glorilla or something. Lorel is a great idea.
Good morn football.
Well, we know what Nick Sirianni did on the bye week. Got a haircuts, good let's cood. Second quarter, Eagles three nothing, Jalen Hurts drops back. He plays so much better with AJ Brown in the highlight or in the game. Wouldn't you I do better with AJ Brown the highlight as well? Moving on, Eagles win this one, twenty to sixteen. They're three and two coming off the bye, and that's Siriani talking to some friends.
We'll talk about that shortly.
Everybody's got takes on that, including us. But here's the JMFP super Bowl, the most hyped Week six game in the history of the program.
Didn't live up to the hype.
Those two guys look great, warming up three to three early, kind of feeling each other out, and then Derek can't right touchdown. He's doing historic things. We'll get into it.
It is really really working.
If you didn't think it was gonna work, and I may be among you.
It's working.
Baltimore wins the Battle of the beltwegh and there's those two legends. Thirty to twenty three. The Ravens get the four into. The Commanders also get the four into. It was kind of what we wanted, a close game and the quarterbacks shown. But Lamar Jackson as always humble at the mic.
Do you guys feel what can proved that the best offense in the NFL right now?
No, just proven we can win games just playing raven football right now. I don't think that really proved anything like we were the best offense. You know, there's always room for improvement. It's only like the fifth six game, six game, There's always room for improvement though, because it was still em Me's happening out there. You know, we still had trust where we should have put points on the board. The interception stuff like that.
That coming from a guy who knows how hard it is to win. To come January fiftieth birthday, I believe for Chad Seal, that's the pr guy for the Ravens. Peter shattered him out on Friday ahead of the weekend. They walked away the Ravens, the Chad Steel Ravens walked away with a win over the Commanders this weekend. Peter biggest takeaway though, from a game that we had been talking about at nauseum coming into this weekend.
I think we hyped this game up a lot, and I think it actually lived up to the hype.
It was awesome.
I watched every snap and I do love Scott Hansen, but I was focused in on this one yesterday afternoon, and I didn't care where the other games were going on for a while there because it was back and forth. And I'll say this, the Ravens have something this year they didn't have last year, and they didn't have in the twenty nineteen MVP season. They got this guy, Derrick Henry, who put the game away and closed out the game, which is something they've been struggling with for the past few years. This was my big takeaway when it came down to it in the fourth quarter. It was this guy number twenty two who could not be brought down. And if the Ravens have a lead, it's always been a precarious situation. And even Week two they lost to the Raiders after a ten point lead at home.
Derek Henry takes the ball and he.
Goes, you know, you already got seven hundred yards this season.
We're six weeks into the season. He's got seven hundred yards. He's on his way to having his best season.
As a pro.
Scored a rushing touchdown for the seventh.
Week in a row, and you got to look.
Back and did it last year at his final game of the season, and then did it all six games so far this year. This was supposed to be all about Lamar and Jaden, and both those guys played great and kept up their MVP conversation pieces. But Derrick Henry continues to impress me in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter, because he's so hard.
To bring down.
After these hard fought games in the final fifteen minutes of all of these contests, feels like the Ravens finally have a guy that can go to that could put the game on.
Ice and leave it.
Last year they didn't have that against Kansas City in the AFC Championship game and they were scared to run the ball. Now they've got that, dude. I would almost say Henry's in the MVP conversation with Lamar and they might end up splitting votes because they've both been so good this season.
For Baltimore man, Peter, it was a good game, It really was. I did the same thing I had red zone on one. I got off my surface and I was watching this game one on one, and it was such a great game. But you know, we're looking at Derrick Henry in his rush. Honestly, when you look at it, especially in the first half. In the first half, the Commanders are doing an amazing job stopping the run and really playing tough. I mean, it was a low scoring game. But then once we saw Durrance Armstrong go out, we saw a different game strategy and they started to explode in the run game. The Baltimore Ravens, they specifically use Jay Flowers horizontally.
To kind of open things up.
And once they started getting Zay go in horizontally and the screen games and everything else, I mean, it was good night. I mean, because Dereck Henry's just downhill running, downhill running, and it really wore that defense out. But I would say, you know, looking on the other side, Washington should hold their head up high because they played that game well. I mean, they were throwing punches and counter punches and they were taken and they were rolling with it. I still believe Jaydon Daniels and the Commanders are still the best team in the NFC East. Yes, they lost to a Super Bowl contending Baltimore Ravens. But this team is ready to rock and roll. I saw everything I needed to see out of the Washington Commanders in this game.
Yeah, I mean except for the win and if they're going to be a cute little story this year and maybe get a playoff b and they.
Almost fought with the big bat Baltimore.
Fine, But if this team has bigger expectations next time, win that game. Jaye Nails looked really good. It looked poised. Lamar had a little bit of Oh not now yet, buddy. This is just everybody relaxed. He played better, he was at home. He got the win. I think that's great. Zave Flowers for two straight weeks has had a career high.
That's pretty cool.
Like you don't see back to back career highs. He's becoming the thing I feel like the Baltimore Ravens have looked for for since they became the Baltimore Ravens. Just consistent electric wide receiver.
But the odds are I'm insurmountable.
If we go into this game and talk about it every single day like we did last week.
To come out on mondaymore.
Are we talking Jade and are we talking Lamar, No, we're talking Dereck Henry insurmountable.
It reminds me of.
Like a scene Steeler in a movie like Melissa McCarthy or with Kevin Hahn. Like the scenes Steeler, there's these two stars, and Derrick Henry completely steals and Peter. I'll go further. I think is the MVP front runner right now in the NFL. Really MVP. Leads the league in yards, leads the league in rushing TOUCHDOW. He's five point nine yards of carry. The stats are just absolutely garish. I think he is the guy I do, and I think I would love to see a running back, let alone one at his age do. This would be the most amazing story. I just didn't think it was gonna work.
Out like this.
It has been so good and so badass, and he's not even doing it with all these crazy, angry runs.
He's coasting in.
The open field, he's going through touchdowns untouched. I just can't believe that Lamar was great. Jane Daniels was great, and then you watch this game you're like, damn, Derek Kennedy looks awesome. That should not be the takeaway. And we'll see how they use him.
Over. I mean, we got a long way to go.
It's really they want him to be doing this stuff in January.
Long way to go and.
Maybe they pull back on a little bit. But right now Baltimore's offense is incredible. Defense is fine. I think they're four and two. They just bun the Battle of the beltway back to the shell and a little bit for the commanders. But I think Derek Hennery is the MVPF for six weeks.
I do this running back quarterback duo has the most rushing yards for that pair of positions since the nineteen seventy five Bills did it with OJ Simpson and Jim Braxenters six games through six games so to start the season and a half a dozen games, they have the most combined yards. The two of them have one, one and seven so far on the ground. It's absolutely incredible to watch Kyle to your points and the rest factor and the making it the entire way through the schedule. For some reason this early, I don't know if it's because we're settling into this eighteen week schedule thing. I'm just very keenly aware of the teams that have a really early buy. It feels too early to.
Me at times.
So the Vikings are coming off one, they got up to play the Lions next week. The Ravens don't have their by until week fourteen this season, So I actually think that bodes well for some teams because if you get playing really well, you have a really nice little December rest week. But does your run game carry you all the way through or does like a week ten or eleven feel more comfortable. It's just something to watch because it is such a long season, and if you have an aged running back, then.
Ideally you want to have that right before the week eleven, like right before right eleven where you would love.
I mean, your maternal anxiety is kicking in with the buys, and you're really worried about the children. And when they get their little map, they're'll map, It'll be okay.
Grand I can't hang out with you till three because we nap from twelve thirty to two three, like you got to put them in the car seat.
And here the players think about that time too.
Oh yeah, I know that's true.
All right.
Steelers on the road in Vegas, Mike Tomlin trying to make sure his team stays on track against a new starting quarterback for the Raiders in Aiden O'Connell Benchgardner Minshew. Over the weekend, Peters did just a field seven yard scamper touchdown. Steelers win at thirty to thirteen.
Moving on theater, let's go to Arizona Green Bay. Just amazing performance. Packers blow out the Cardinals, a team that everyone was hyping after they beat the Niners.
I now, but let's hype this team and said, cal come back leading them out. Trevor Lawrence, No, not today. The Bears defense has so many takeaways. They're playing fantastic, and they're just absolutely destroying the Jaguars and the proverbial hometown and we have a wallapen and that's pretty much.
It, guys, thirty five to sixteen.
Jaguars got some empty calories at the end, and they had some numbers, but the.
Bears just rolled. The Bears are four and two.
That is legit.
And after the game, Stacey Dale's on site representing NFL media in London, caught up with the star quarterback.
You get the buy next week.
But Caleb, what have you learned most about yourself in this offense through now your form two?
Yeah, as you gotta keep going there's gonna be times throughout the game, you know where there's plays that you don't like, plays that you messed up on like today, But you know, to keep going, have the positive mindset, stay at constant communicator throughout.
The whole team office coordinator to everybody, and have.
Like I said, that positive mindset goes a long way for our guys.
Enjoy the win.
Awesome, thank you go Bears.
Oh, it's also authentic and wonderful out of Caleb Williams at this point, Kyle, you had to sit down with Caleb on game day morning yesterday. It was a fantastic insight in that conversation there, I'm supposed to say, what's your assessment, like, give us the authentic feels. If Caleb's gonna scream, I want Kyle Brand to scream some.
Kind of it's unbelievable.
I mean I can scream, I can sing, I can do all that stuff. Everybody in Chicago. It's almost erotic right now. On the fact that there's a star quarterback playing for the Bears and here's you know, is he better than Jaden? I don't know who cares. It's better than Justin Field's better than mister bisky. You know the list he's going And if you want to say, like, is this just like a tight, little isolated thing where he's playing some good ball, or is this represents some sort of large, sweeping change. I'm going to give you a lot of statements and have the word since in them.
Here we go.
Yeah.
The Bears have scored thirty five points in consecutive games for the first time since Mark Trestman with their head coach.
The Bears have five offensive touchdowns and back.
To back games since nineteen fifty six.
That's not happened. This is big deal.
London games kind of the slog right, often very sloppy. The quarterbacks don't play that well. A quarterback to throw threes tocores and run for fifty yards hasn't happened since ever. No one's ever done that on foreign soil in the United Kingdom. For the NFL, the defense has allowing seventeen points per game. It's the best since the six Super Bowl team with Irlacker and Briggs. And so what's the best part is that Bears fans are hearing things and they got people in the comments same critical things at them that people say to winning teams, like you just beat up on the Jaguars. You haven't played anybody, you played this crappy team, this crappy team.
That is what you hear when you win games. That is what you hear from fan bases. We're jealous that you're winning games. Who are jealous that when they go to game break.
Back in studio, Carrissa goes to a Bears highlights, We're jealous to Scott Hansen goes back to London and it's.
Your team scoring. Who are jealous that your quarterback is doing that?
Who are jealous that the Bears are winning you fantasy league?
They say things like that to bring you down. Don't let them, don't let them. I don't know if Cale's gonna be the MVP.
I don't know if he's a savior, a messiah, just a really good quarterback.
But he's playing some really good football.
The Bears are a four and two team who just throttled the Jaguars.
They gotta buy and then.
We'll go Caleb and Jayden head to head and we'll settle some things. In the meantime, crack the bubbly. It's autumn in Chicago. The leaves are changing. It's a wonderful time to enjoy Bears football and hasn't been better in years. Son, I love your seven seven, three, three, one, two, eight four seven.
All of you enjoy this.
Don't let anybody take you down.
I think it's so rare for Bears fans too, because it's an early Sunday morning, like they finished the game, it's about noon Chicago time. Not only do they have all of Sunday to relish in this thing, now they've got an entire bye week where it's like we got to watch the entire league and they all watched us, and now we have an entire week to just enjoy this.
Foreign to the Bears for and two.
I know we're hyping up the Packers and the Lions and the Vikings on this show. I know we do that, but we have to give the Bears there due for what they've accomplished. Foreign two is real, and it's a real quick shout out because everyone wanted to run out of town after one episode of Hard Knocks Shane Waldron's offense.
Talk about it to get into it, Shane Waldron's offense.
Great.
Remember they could have hired a lot of different people. They interviewed a lot of different people.
They chose Shane Waldron, who was coming off of you know whatever, nondescript experience in Seattle and then years under McVeigh in LA and Shane Waldron's coming.
In and it looks like he's the Caleb whisper.
It looks good.
I'll give you this and Loveo'll say, Well, the heart of the schedule is gonna come not so fast. It's Commanders, then it's Cardinals, then it's Patriots. Those are three winnable games. Those that three winnable games, they could be seven and two going into week ten or eleven.
So Caleb looks great.
But the whole thing is a cool vibe and I want Chicago fans to enjoy this.
Yeah, I don't know about the Commanders as a winnable game. I'm just saying not trying to hate. I don't want to rain on the parade. I'm all in on this. I think what happened is that there was all this hype in the beginning of the season or prior to the season, during the training camp and the hard knocks and everybody was feeling it. And when we saw Caleb Williams and the Bears come out flat, especially those first two weeks, we didn't see a lot out of Caleb Williams.
It was bad.
Two interceptions, not a lot of completions. It just didn't look good. But I think what people need to understand it takes time, and Caleb Williams are rookie and he's starting to get it. And I think what I saw in this game was the fact that his feet and his eyes are in sync. Now you're starting to see he's calm, you can tell. But when you watching a quarterback's body movement, you can tell when he's calm or when he's flustered. He looks very calm right now, and he was just dropping dimes. And I think the other thing is he's not putting the pressure that he's got to make these Magic Johnson type of no look passes, and he's like taking the things that are in front of him. And that's the sign of maturity, and that's what you want to see in your quarterback. So to all those Twitter thugs, you know, the thumb thugs out there, the ones that want to start throwing out all the hate, apologize, retweet an apology or something like that, you know what I mean, That's what I want to see the pundits who are going, oh, yeah, he's not what we thought they were like, I don't know, Caleb looks pretty dangne good to me. So I would say for all those people, throw out a little apologies, say you know what, I apologize, and.
You really think highly of people that they are capable of doing that. That's not how it works.
The thumbugs aren't gonna They're not gonna apologize.
They're just going to move on to their next bos.
I am a bigger person.
I recognize that he has improved because I am a better person.
That's not how it work.
I appreciate that you want that hell award. All right, we got rewind that coming up. We got more highlights coming off GMFB on a Monday screaming from the top of our lungs, Tayleb Williams, everybody in sixt weeks, Good morning football, all right, Buccaneers Saints. This game was very entertaining. There were a lot of layers to it. Spencer Raller, the rookie quarterback getting his first start, going up against the sensational At times, that can mean a bad thing. Baker Mayfield, Bigger Mayfield is so wild and fun to watch at quarterback. You see that twenty seven on the scoreboard for the Saints. That is the amount of points the Saints scored in the second quarter. That is the only amount of points they scored for the whole game. That's it. It was twenty seven points for the Saints and second quarter, and the Buccaneers scored fifty one in the remainder of this game, fifty one to twenty seven.
Year final.
That was a cad Otton touchdown Sherry verse. If you were curious, Buccaneers win.
Big I was, Thank you, Jam.
You know.
That was a lot of great plays just from over the weekend. But we do want to start with this week's we replay review. We look and an impactful official review of a play from Sunday. We're going to go to London for this one. The Bears and the Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence hooks up with Evan Ingram for the reception. But if you look, Bears linebacker TJ. Edwards punching it loose. It's recovered by Elijah Hicks. As replay review showed, Ingram was knocked down when Edwards uses the peanut punch to knock it loose. You see that right there. Chicago eventually turns it into a Keenan Allen touchdown.
And in twenty twenty.
Five, the Seahawks will celebrate the team's fiftieth season and recognize the competitive greatness that the club is known for and honor the top fifty players in Seahawks' history through the Seahawks Thursday Night game. So many games yesterday from sun up to sundown. There must have been a play, Kyle that you want to rewind that on.
Oh, definitely, let's get right into it.
All the great wide receiver play we saw yesterday, My favorite wide receiver goes six foot ten, three hundred and thirty pounds in place for the Detroit Lions. Give me the Dan Skipper up top. Look at that big mat. How do you not feed him the ball? Give the Lions are doing everything last night yesterday just to mess around and pay homage.
To the he dug down. Why don't you throw him the ball? Theod rod very drinky with.
The history of the Cowboys and an eligible offensive lineman. Skipper looks pissed off there. He's like, give me the rock, the ball. I need to touch the ball, and Dan Skipper isn't wrong. That's my favorite moment, Hull.
All right, Mine is a play that I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes. We might be talking about Marle Seat Bucky Irving, but what I want to talk about is not even the ball carrier on this play. It's the fact that plays before Baker Mayfield gets hit so hard he has to take a playoff. He comes back and throws a block down. Feel for his running back. This is at the start of the fourth quarter. You're gonna see him here, come out of nowhere.
He does not a lot, but.
Like, that's your quarterback trying to get Bucky or ring an extra half yard. I loved it and I had to see it again.
I could dig that, you know, I can dig that.
I like that play That shows the kind of person and the player that he is always. You know, my play has to be going down to the Packers and Jordan Love, I mean just balled out. Check this play out right here on this play, action right here he throws his bomb to Christian over here.
Look at this boom hit him, nice, hit him. Nice. I've seen Christian Watson.
But it was the play right before where you get Kie Shawn Nixon on the punt return and this guy took one and I.
Was like, oh, he's about to go to the house. But it was Coach Lafleur and.
Their ability to play not only special team ball, especially ball, but to call a play to go deep bomb all the way to Christian Watson on that next play. That was a great sequence right there.
Look at that.
You see Craft taking that high safety up there, opening it up for Christian Watson.
Cool touchdown, forty four of you touchdown. Amazing.
What's a girl got to do to get like sixteen rewinds. I was gonna go one pet it. You know, Peter Schrager, you had a busy day yesterday, Yeah.
I did.
You know.
It's funny I go through the history of the game.
I think of the great NFL wide receivers and it is Jerry Rice and Tara Owens and Randy Moss.
I thought this was a cool play.
This happened in the early window yesterday on Sunday. If you were watching at home. Of course you were watching this play. Let's Gina, let's bring up the tape here.
Maybe, yes, Matthew Stafford in studio at Fox, and he threw me in on the pass and I got to catch it.
Stafford, who could caught Meat? Your heart out?
I asked for Stafford to throw me one and watch.
Charles woods in here. He tried.
Sorry, Chuck, sorry, Pro Football Hall of Famer, You ain't getting it. Edelman watching with his tongue wagging. Edelman, you wish you could do this, Stafford, the king of all kings, Vic watching and I just.
Took that thing and ran in.
A suit and tie. Let's go play the day.
Matthew Stafford with a peterful Matthew staff were.
In a suit.
By the way, I never.
Peter.
All the athletes on that set, Vic and Woodson and Edelman and everything, and Peter. If people at home don't know, Peter will usually refuse to touch a football because it didn't play the game.
But you made an exception. It looked glorious.
I learned it.
I really paid my dudes. This was from years of playing out in New York City streets with Kyle and Jamie and Jason mccordy, and then also before that, years of playing on a duck goose poop littered field in Mount.
Laurel that we used to play.
We would go out and do field like two plays in Mount Laurel and it was just covered in duck crap, just crap everywhere, and I would run through those fields.
And catch passes for Danny Rofsky.
So I was well trained. Peter.
I got to ask you, first off, did you practice beforehand? Because the confidence that you had like there, I mean you didn't even.
Look at boom. You snatched that thing, you tucked it in like well, say something, fay something.
My whole life, my whole life, thought, Barbara, wait for that moment.
You know, I know, you know it's a nice three ardor too got
