Good Morning Football.
It is, and it's a gorgeous Monday here on Good Morning Football. We are live in Los Angeles.
At least half.
The show is the other half we're in New York City because we are coast to coast and.
That is how we cover the game.
This is Isaiah standback at the table for a couple of days. I'm Jamie Rtall out of New York. Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, Peter, Kyle, any advice you need to give Isaiah on a Monday, and so he's not Monday Yang here on GMFB.
No, you're already ahead of the game. We're in that incredible Sean Camp sweatshirt.
We love it, we worship it.
We like the rain Men, we like the Sonics, we love them, and we love you.
Isaiah. Let's talks and football. Let's go. It's a roller coaster, Isaiah.
Just grab on and hang tight because it's two hours and it's highlights and we give out every game ball.
Imagine.
Let's go absolutely take us to the generic blue football.
Holme it please, Kyle Brent.
I don't mind if I do here.
We are blue football it, Peter, We're gonna put you on the spot. Who's your favorite all time Atlanta Falcon Dion Sanders mind Arthur Blake and he's in the Ring of Honor. So we have a weird score. It's twenty two to seventeen.
Third and five.
The biggest play tonight, Kyle Pitts.
It's incomplete. There's no flag. It's kind of a full on tackle with no attempt to turn around at all. No flag. Now a fourth and five. This play was just kind of nothing.
They turned the ball over, run downs and everyone's apoplectic about the referees not calling anything on the Chiefs. We'll probably get into it, I know you will. But then the Falcon gets the ball back fourth and inches bijon stuffed Chiefs win in Atlanta. See that three and that zero next to the Chiefs record. Listen, complain great, do whatever he wants. They are three and oer the Falcons are one and two and After the game, Patrick Mahomes tells the media that the Chiefs have not laid up to their standard through the first three weeks.
We haven't played good. I mean really all three games. We've been able to win. I mean that speaks to the character of the team, the grid, how we've been in these situations before. But I'll speak especially offensively and me myself, I feel like I haven't played very well, and that's not a stats thing. I just feel like I'm missing opportunities whenever they're out there and not throwing the ball in the exact spot I want it to be yet, So it's about me getting back to my fundamentals, putting our guys in the right position, and then we got to execute at a higher level offensively. If teams are going to make us drive the field, we have to prove that we're able to do that. And I'm sure we'll get a lot of the same this next week with the Chargers.
So the translation for me there is Mahomes is like, guys, we're not great and you're letting us mess around and be three and zero. The Chiefs start hot again this season coming off a Super Bowl win. Peter Sunday Night Football Chiefs Treatments. What are your takeaways from last night in Atlanta?
My takeaways, That is a three phase game, and the Chiefs always find a way if one of them isn't delivering. So the offense wasn't great last night. They do score twenty two points, but when they needed conversions, they weren't getting them. So it's a fourth and long and they decide we're gonna pump the ball.
Back to Atlanta. We gotta get our defense to stop him.
I don't know if we didn't make it in the original highlight, but did you guys see Matt Aritza catch this punt in the fourth quarter. If he doesn't do that, this is the eleven twenty eight left. If he doesn't catch that punt. Now this was of course him's down here, so it's not actually a fumble, but this is what set for eight seams. Look at this catch by the punter athletic as hell, and then see that's clear the back of the end zone.
The game is totally different. It doesn't matter this was penalized. Then we get to the final drive.
You could talk about the flags, you could talk about the pass interferences, all you want.
The final drive.
If you're the Atlanta Falcons, you've got one hundred and eighty million dollar quarterback. You've gotten Tyler l Jier here stuffed on third and one. Okay, then you've got fourth and inches, and you've got Bijon Robinson the first pick and all your fantasy drafts of top ten pick in the NFL draft, and Nick Bolton comes out like a bolt.
Of lightning, and he's the one to stuff it out.
I'll tell you, Mahomes has not played his best football this season. Kelsey has not played his best football this season. And they're down Isaiah Pajaco and Hollywood Brown and so many other key players, and their offensive line has been makeshift with changes left and right. They're three and oh, if we're doing power rankings right now, the Chiefs are number one, I'm sorry, and yet they still haven't even gotten the best out of their offense. Defense stepped up and Matta Wright's with an incredible out straategic special team stepped up. Got to say, it's a three phase game, and the Chiefs still dial it in under the lights, even.
On the road on Arthur Blank Knight in Atlanta.
Well, Arthur Blank right is right. This guy's just find.
A way to win.
And you just alluded to it somehow, some way. Championship teams do the small things right. They do it right, and they do it consistently. And the kansadity chiefs are. They do it every single day. So when you go back and look at some of these players, right, there's things that kind of kind of pass you by if you're not paid a lot of attention. They're talking about the small blocks, right, the small little details.
Let's go ahead and take a look at the film real quick.
On this particular play, okay, you guys are gonna have Watson.
Go up here to steer step in the middle of your slot. Here you see in the middle of the field. He's going to go up. His job is to make the defender.
Run over the top.
And when he does so is as we play it through, Juju is.
Gonna come underneath. And now he's freed up. Those are the small things that you don't see that allow for guys to be open up on.
Any particular play.
On this particular play, okay, you guys don't see it, but the man Carson Steele, the rookie who stepped up and when it took care of business, he made a big block to allow for that play over the rice.
And they're right here.
You just talked about it.
Bolden right here being able to come across when you see the whole hit the hole everybody has this gap discipline doing their jobs, and when you're asked to just do your job, d YJ, it is very easy to go out there and have success as a complete unit. The Chiefs just find a way to do it week after week after week, regardless if they're big players are making big plays.
No, they they do.
And we've stumbled upon something that I really think is charming for me as a show. Every Monday morning, usually Peter starts us off with the games, and there's a genuine originality to how Peter's going to start his commentary and every it's an inexplicable didn't have that on my mingo car thing.
Pee.
You started the week talking about the Chiefs punter.
No one else is doing that. No one else would think that because we actually watch the game. I know I'm actually looking at Warner.
I watch every snap, every single snap game. I'm already excited for next Monday with what you start with, because nobody started with that.
I will go with this.
We are at this great part of this hot season right now. And if you watch the show year after year, you know we always repeat this phrase this.
Time of year. Just Stack wins.
It's just Stack wins season, meaning who cares how you play, who cares what the final score is.
You'll figure it out. It's a long season.
You can get better, you can get in the film room, you can get healthier, But just right now, while you're figuring it out, try to get as many wins as possible. And I think, look at Mahomes comments, He's like, I'm not really good right now, Like we're not really good right now. The three and ohero guys, there's only a few three and oh teams in the whole league. Maybe Buffalo wins tonight, but you have case now, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Seattle, that's it. And I think Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Seattle they may be playing their best ball right now. I don't know are they gonna be able though those teams play better than they are now.
We'll find out.
But I know Kansas City can play better than this. Just stack the wins. They will help you. These wins right now, this ugly dumb win against the Falcons in Week three, that's what gets the title game at Arrowhead.
It's that one.
It's not the ones you win in December. You have to win now. I don't think they're playing that great. I don't think they played that well that last year and they won the Super Bowl. So they're the kind of thing where they can just beat you with one hand. And this is what I will give them. Just on the football field. The defense was awesome, and I want to especially look at what they did against the Falcons running game. Bijon sixteen for thirty one yards, sixteen carries thirty one yards, A long run of seven means fifteen for twenty four. This was like the Nick Bolton game. You don't see the Xavier Worthy highlight. You're not seeing the Patrick Mahomes around the back. Kelsey is still nowhere. He'll show up eventually. This won that game. Laughed This and Bolton and they're like, we got this. The Falcons tried to run the hell out of the ball because they crushed Philadelphia with this last week, and Casey said, you're not doing it tonight. Bijon is an electric talent and he had nothing going, including the last play of the game, including once of the goal line fifteen carres for twenty four yards.
That was a chief defensive performance. Guys, just stack wins, those sweet sweet wins.
Peter every eighty million dollars Kirk Cousins makes and in the final two plays, it's third and one and it's fourth and one, and they're handing the ball off to two running backs and they.
Haven't had any success.
Your thoughts on Cousins not getting a shot to at least throw the ball in those final.
Twos, well, listen, he threw it twice in the end zone at the end of the game, and one of them.
The receiver was hit with the two by four. They didn't call anything, and then whether one was a miss.
Jamie, should we get into this because I know the people are crying for it. You want should we talk about the Kyle Pitts play in the back of the en zone?
You make the call here?
I think you should go ahead, all right.
So loaded topic, loaded time. And last week you're talking about officials and chiefs and everything. With the Bengals called and they get the call, the question is and the in front of everybody's mind. As you see the defensive back doesn't even turn his head at all.
Arms were wrapped around Pitts.
If that's Travis kelcey, are they throwing that flag? The answer is absolutely, app absolutely, There's probably four flags on the ground and some of that is wrong, and some of.
That is that should not be the case.
Some of that is, like, that's the privilege you get from being the Super Bowl champs and winning three super Bowls is that you do get looked at differently and you shouldn't. But those are human beings out there, and if it's Kyle Pitts versus Travis Kelcey, I'm sorry. This is a flawed system. It's not perfect. They do the best they can, but they're human beings. I thought that they should have called it. I thought Pitts eelsher should have caught it. So yeah, I'm not going to sit up this morning and say, no, good call.
I hear you.
If you say they should have called it, they should have.
They didn't.
How many chances did they get? That's how I look at it. Noah, you know, like so that was third down, but they had more than was terrible.
The fourth down pass was like Cousins like that, and the balls went down and bound from the end zone and then you run the ball twice.
So yeah, I mean, look, it's it's football. We've done this for a long time.
You're gonna question some calls short, but let's not bail out the Falcons offense for not being able to execute in the red zone time and time again. That was inexplicable to not get seven points on some of those drives.
Click body language check for Isaiah here, what were your thoughts on the pi?
Non pi?
It's pi. But you have to give yourself an opportunity.
You start talking about Kirk Cousins, right, and responsibility that he has as a quarterback to put his players in position to be successful.
Throwing the ball at his hips, okay.
And watching a man dip dip, dip, that is not the way they try to get the touchdown.
You got Kyle Pits who's six six.
I got the ball up high.
You can throw the ball literally ten feet in the air and you go up there and you tiptoe that thing. Right, So throwing the ball down there at his hips is not going to allow for him to make a play, and it's not going to help the referees.
Want to help you out.
Oh there it is. It's like that workout where you like wrap a belt and you're like one hundred pounds underneath, you're just being dipped. Like no, you got to go up and get it like that. Ian Rapaport, Good morning to you.
We got news that we have to cover looking ahead to tonight's games, but also aftermath from week three.
What's up you in We'll.
Start with the aftermath.
We'll start with DeVante Smith, the ego standout receiver who left yesterday's game, yesterday's really nice win over the New Orleans Saints with a concussion with a really i would say, controversial and impactful hit. It was Christian Boyd kind of blind siding and you're going to see it right there, with a hit that Chauncey Gardner Johnson called dirty. He initially was questionable then was ruled out. No doubt, this is gonna be something that's going to be a big talking point in the Eagles locker room, and we'll see if and when the Saints had anything to say about it. Was not penalized, but we will find out later in the week whether or not that will be reviewed for a potential fine. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers started the week talking about Justin Herbert, his high ankle sprain, whether or not he'd be able to play. He did play, and for a while played pretty well, aggravated his high ankle sprain, Jim Harve saying after the game that once he saw him come up limping.
That was it.
He was done. He was pulled.
It was Taylor Heinkke actually coming in as the backup. You really do wonder, guys this week if they pull all the way back on Herbert tried to push it.
He went out there.
They say, you know what, let's take him off the field. Let's let it heal. But more answers coming there. Meanwhile, Miles Garrett, the star pass rusher for the Cleveland Browns, is also searching for answers.
This was a really fascinating one.
He had surgery on his feet when he was younger, and apparently, as Garrett explained to reporters earlier this week, he's having some complications related to those feet, which has been taking him off the practice field. He left yesterday's game with a foot injury. He said he is going to keep playing until they basically.
Stop him from doing so.
He's going to get an MRI.
It's more complicated, as he noted, than we even know. We will see if this is something he could play through going forward, and you know, if he can, he absolutely will.
And that's a bright spot for the Browns so far this season. Thank you.
I We'll hear more about that as we look ahead to Monday night as well. To put a ball one week three all right, last week, a couple weeks ago, he saw Saquon Barkley coming out party in Brazil. The Eagles needed this going up against a very slashy Saints scene in New Orleans, and they spoiled the party.
We got highlights next, we really do.
I'm already watching the Eagles.
They've had two great games and then one really weird ones.
You know who's had three gay games.
The face of the league, guys, there is there is the face of the NFL.
The Vikings are three and oh. They're the most well rounded team. They're the most dominant team. They destroyed the Texans.
Also, the Steelers defense is almost hilarious at this point.
They're at three and oh. There's only a few clubs, a few teams.
In the three and oh club guys, Pittsburgh, Minnesota.
We're talking about all of them.
Good morning football, Good morning football.
After the way of the Texans sat Caleb Williams down last week, it would be lookout Sam Darnold day right in Minnesota.
Not really c j Stroud was.
Actually gonna have to go up against a really formidable defense Vikings convincing thirty four.
To seven win.
Justin Jefferson says, skull clap, Let's go all right.
This is what I thought the most physical game of the day.
Herbert was banged up badly already with an ankle.
There's Jim Harbaugh wearing two gloves in the preseason, just walking around in gloves, receivers gloves, the ankles is playing, playing, and then he's not playing. He was really tough and gritty. I thought he was excellent in the game before this against probably the best defense in the league. And then he gets sacked by a couple of guys here and Cam Hayward lands on him.
Which is just horrible.
Herbert Leaves would not return where a walking boot. After the game did throw a touchdown one hundred and twenty five yards played. Well, Justin Fields is Justin Field's gonna go.
Three to zero?
You know, Listen, this was going on simultaneously while the Bears were going through all kinds of highjinks against the Colts and losing. Field is having a great season. Tomlin has a quarterback. Tomlin has a team, Tomlin has a.
Three and zero record.
Jim Harbaugh gets his first loss as return into the NFL. But maybe pound for palm the best football player on Earth right now?
TJ. Watt was with pound for pound, maybe the best reporter on Earth omar Ruiz After the win, TJ.
Watt a dominating performance in the second half. You limited to them negative yards. What does that say about your guys' effort this afternoon?
A lot of hard work, a lot of hard work, a good game plan, a lot of good adjustments at halftime, guys not panicking and just coming out and executing. How about young Nick herbig guys who's been waiting for his opportunity and went out and sees the moment.
Today Alex goes down and you mentioned Nick stepped up with a couple of sacks and Landon Roberts a sack. Cameron Hayward gets a sack later, the floodgates really open. What does that say about the depth of this defense?
We got a lot of depth.
We have a lot of fun. We have guys that love playing football, and if we get to lead, we feel really really comfortable with the guys we have in the back end.
The guys up front, you're three and oh, now, TJ, how good can this team be?
Next?
Best thing is four?
And oh, we're on to the next and TJ. Watt just wants to keep winning and their defenses are going to keep ruining.
Guys.
The Steelers and the Vikings are three and oh, the Steelers and the Vikings are three and oh.
Have to say it one.
More time, Peter, so I make sure I fully understand what's happening in mid September. I'm going to cover up my jacket here, Peter, which one has your attention? At three and zero?
I think the Vikings have been the story of the NFL for three weeks.
Jamie.
You're wearing that Vikings jacket, and I'm telling you it feels like vintage Vikings because it's the offense and it's the defense, and they're just so well coached. You look at what Kevin O'Connell's gotten out of Sam Donald. You could look at this thing on paper and say, well, JJ McCarthy went down with the injury. They had issues obviously all summer with you know, is Jefferson going to be on the team now?
He is? He gets paid.
Also, they have not missed a beat with Donald one year deal. Donald has been as good as any quarterback in the NFL this season. He looks efficient and yet it's not just the offense. This defense has been unbelievable. Brian Flores's unit gave up seven points to a Houston Texans team.
That everyone was raving about going into this.
They had five sacks, they had two interceptions. The Houston Texans were three of thirteen on third down. This game was never in question.
It really wasn't.
And right when it seemed like, okay, maybe the Texans could get a come up, the Vikings defense put them away. Vikings have now beaten the forty nine Ers and the Texans in back to back weeks.
Find me a better two teams.
That you can beat and beat in the fashion that they did, I'd like to see it. Kevin O'Connell already has one of those Coach of the Year trophies somewhere in his house. He's already putting himself in good position to win another.
I hear you peeing that you know what. I like your take, but I'm gonna have the good on other side. I got it with the steel Kurt I. The Steelers are taking care of business.
You talk about a team that was coming into training camp with two quarterbacks, okay, a quarterback that they got on discount, double check, and another quarterback that traded because he wanted to be there and play underneath that quarterback. And now all of a sudden, you find yourself in a situation where you're now three and oh, Justin Fields is showing up in a big way for this organization. He's showing up for Tom and he's just not messing up. And as the season continues on, he's finding ways to find himself, this new version of himself with this new organization, and you're winning game.
So let's go inead and look at some of his stats going down. Look at Justin Fields right here. You got to see what he did and obviously in twenty one to.
Twenty three, but now look at this year case. His completion rate is up to seventy three percent. I'll take any quarterback that gives me seventy three percent completion rate, his QB passer rating, ninety five sacks, He's only taken two sacks, and he is not giving the ball away. His first turnover was this most recent week with the one interception that he had and you talk about not only is he doing well, this offense is just now starting to figure themselves out. They haven't done a lot offensively, but they're still getting dubs.
Let's look at it. Three offensive touchdowns.
Okay, they are averaging only four first downs per game, sorry, per quarter, and these guys have ten field goals, so they're finding a way to get victories by MESSI play. But as they're going on, they're getting better. And I think somebody else is going to talk a little bit about the defense. I just want to focus on the offense.
Listen. I hear that, and I love what the Vikings are doing. And I tweeted it yesterday.
It's probably the best most surprising story in the entire NFL. But I have to talk about the Steelers. They're not gonna make the playoffs this year. They didn't have a quarterback. This is the year it all comes back down to earth. Everybody told me, everybody said it, and I tried to tell people, it's the Steelers. It doesn't matter who the quarterback is. Do you think they were in the playoffs because of Kenny Pickett.
And Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges. It doesn't duck Hodge matter, Peter remembers Duck Hodge, do you it doesn't matter.
The Steelers defense, I think is probably the greatest thing in the league right now.
And I mean that like, I don't know if there's any offense.
In the league that's better than the Steelers defense. I don't know if there's any defense this better than the Steelers defense. It's not just what it's all hands on deck, and it is getting historic, even for their standards. Here's the history nugget, Peter, you're gonna love this. Three straight games to start the season, they have allowed ten or fewer points ten, six, ten.
Have the Steelers ever done that before? Have they ever done it? Steeve Curtin Maybe once, Oh they did it fifty years ago. Bring up the footage that is.
The seventy three Steelers who were like eleven boogeymen out there just destroying people on astro turf.
Then you don't do this in twenty twenty more. You could do anything you wanted on the field back then.
Nothing metal sip SIPs, Sit down, Phipps, guys.
The Steelers are doing this in the offensive league. They're doing this against Kirk Cousins, Sean.
Payton justin Herbert's. They're wrecking people. It is so fun to watch.
You watch Steelers games, they don't go to red zone very much if you watch on red zone because the other team is never in the red zone.
No, do you understand? Do you understand what's coming? If you think this is just a fast start.
The next three weeks they're going against Anthony Richardson. That should be fun, Dak Prescott, that should be fun.
Gardner minshew. They face Phipps. Yeah, no, they don't face Phipps. I don't know if fIF is no longer with us.
They do finally face Aaron Rodgers, and that one's gonna be ridiculously cool.
Can we get some research on Phipps.
We don't know his first name, Quarto Phipps. I love the Vikings. It's a great story. The Steelers defense is not a great story. It's a terrible, horrifying story. You want to come down from the stands as a mother and take your children off the field when you play against them, and I wouldn't blame you.
Get out of their way, do it now? I told you, guys, it doesn't matter. Stop doubting the Steelers. You idiots. They're going to win the division? What's the Steelers go to the super Bowl. I'm totally think you are What are you doing? Show yourself? Show yourself?
Yeah, Phipps on Twitter, he's probably dead.
For forty years.
He's seventy seven. His name is Mike Phipps.
And the poor Phipps family is watching this.
What do we do?
Okay? What did we do to deserve this school?
College? I feel like he's a man. Go to college?
Say it again?
Yes, you're right, Yes, that's an unbelievable time that I handed the torch to Phipps.
I can't.
God, actually, probably Danielson Phipps greasy, I can't if that was amazing.
Think you have a Halloween costume going as Phipps Browns versus Giants.
Giants fans already tweeting the show, saying where the Giants highlight?
Malik Neighbors is Superman. This guy I don't know what to make of him. Neighbors unbelievable.
Daniel Jones two touchdowns and Dexter Lawrence was all over the field, Sexy Dexi and the Giants and Brent Davel.
Then I go Davis fired up? All right, ninety one points for the Saints through two weeks.
That ties the nine Saints and the seventy one Cowboys for most ever.
Both of those teams won the Super Bowl.
Sequon Barkley right out a happy Valley runs through the Bayou. That is a sixty five yard touchdown, the longest touch on run in five years for Barkley. Watch Syrianna in the sideline. Serrianni had a hell of an afternoon. I think that was some gratitude right there and maybe some relief. But look at wait, the Saints only have six points. Why don't you just throw it long?
And they do.
Look that's a touchdown to Crisp Lave. Look at that beautiful toad drag. Nate's talking about fracking right now on CBS.
Morns Nate, we love you. Someone's got to do it.
Jalen hurts back down twelve to seven. Watch Dallas Goddard.
Just go rumbling.
He's at the forty forty five thirty thirty five.
Is he gonna give a stif arm or something? Nah, it just kind of goes down.
Dallas Gotter had ten catches for one seventy quite amazing. A. J.
Brown was out de bonds.
He had to go out, so they went to Goddard and Saquon and guys. It worked and the Saints hard to win.
When you don't score forty eagles, Wow, you can relax a little bit, you can exhale.
The Saints go from scoring forty, just scoring twelve to losing it a raucous, raucous super Dome fifteen to twelve.
That is our highlight from New Orleans.
Kyle, why did you decide that fracking was gonna come? Your political reference of point this season is like the most neutral one, but it's like it's good eco political.
Well actually deliberately.
It has a very close tie to the state of Pennsylvania. So I was drawing in because of the Philadelphia Eagles.
But we'll stick to sports.
We will, we will for now, not for but fracking is always coming up. You should hear Peter on fracking and the commercials.
Got take yeah strong. I wouldn't describe them as radical fracking taste. Don't share those on the air. Radical extreme. It is way out there on fracket.
It's also just a really fun word to say, and it can replace an explotation sometimes if you needed to. Philadelphia got to win last night. They had contributors like Dallas Goddard, who people are like, it's a Dallas Goddard game. We didn't know we needed and Barkley. There were some lummaghes too low along the way after seeing a Saints team score ninety one over two games, Peter, But what did it take for the Eagles to eke this win out in New Orleans?
I think it was the longest short week in the history of the NFL for the Eagles. They played on Monday night, and yet it felt like the pressure was turned up to one thousand and everybody was breathing down on them. And they had a game in six days in a house of horrors, New Orleans, where basically nobody goes in and has success, and they absolutely silenced the red hot Saints.
The defense was incredible. Jalen Carter was playing well.
You had this defensive backfield step up and I feel like they heard everything that everyone was saying and then they responded. And now we've got to at least as a media, I think we have to eat some of it. We have to eat some crow because like, shut up, like we what we just did was we silenced his offense at ninety one points through two weeks, and we did it with all the same guys that you were tearing down. And I think nobody verbalized that better than their spark plug in the defensive backfield. That is locker after the game, the Patrick Beverley of the NFL, Mister Chauncey Gardner Johnson, take a listen, man, top yeah.
Top what top?
What?
Top?
What?
Top? What top?
What?
Ain't none?
Listen, ain't none?
Get over that top from shot, the slave shot, a Q shot, Avonte, shot to ree, shot of Ringo, shot of coach CP, side of coach Jking, and best.
Secontary to the lead.
That's the case we to play for that.
We ain't played through nothing, play through my teammates. I'm not worried about somebody. Listen, we keep receipts. That's what I told y'all in the locker room. See y'all Sunday. I told y'all food. They got rid of me, I ain't get.
Rid of them.
It's still in me. It's still talent on me. I ain't worry.
He would go on to later say it's Derek Carr.
The Eagles heard everything we said, and the Eagles read everything that was written about them over the past few days. It wasn't pretty, but they responded. And guess what, they're two in one in the NFC East with a Cowboys, Commanders and Giants trio that doesn't exactly look like they're taking the world by storm. So the Eagles take a breath.
Great win. They found it from really deep below.
In a hostile environment, and as I can't be as animated as Chauncey Gardner Johnson, but they feel pretty good about themselves.
Yeah, they feel good about themselves.
And I need to blink as many times as just but they took care of business man. I mean, obviously those guys saw what to not do the week prior to with what Dallas I had to deal with, so they wanted to go out there and they needed that victory. And they also needed that victory for their locker room because I think if they would have take the ail there, I think Sirianne would have had some question around his job.
No, I think he.
I think Sirianne's having a tough afternoon, but that's not it can't be the focus.
They won.
They've looked great in two games. They've looked great for two and a half games. This Saquon was fantastic in this game.
It was really really good.
In the last game, it's just like catch that ball.
And they're three and zero and everyone that the toasted the town. I was like, really really hard on the Eagles last week for the way that that game ended, and I think I got a little emotional about it. I probably got a little over my skis. This was I don't know, it's in the conversation the short list through three weeks of most impressive wins of the season, just because what New Orleans had going on to that point is New Orleans forgeting ne Orleans for gazing.
I mean, are they the fools?
Goal was that, like, oh that was a fun two weeks and we're gonna look back on that.
They came up really short, really short, twelve points. Guys.
We don't need forty every week. It would have been nice to get twenty, and we got to win. So I listened huge, huge respect for the way Philadelphia showed up in that game. I know they didn't put a show around or anything. They scored fifteen points. The defense was awesome, awesome, awesome, and say one is fantastic. I'm very fascinated to watching New Orleans next week. They're my most intriguing Week four team. I don't even know what the matchup is. It's Monday, Who cares. I just want to know what if that was them or the first two weeks of them, because I got some thoughts, but I need to see one more game.
It was for aj Brown to be out, for DeVante Smith to be out, you could assume that, oh, a star is going to show up in Sagon Barklay, and up until this play, Dallas Goddard to me was the guy in Angry Runs who was like, who's that guy that hands out stepters?
I want to hear from that guy.
That was Dallas Goddard to me, and then he showed up massive in this game. Now, if I'm a defender for the Saints and I would love to not run into each other. On the final play of Dallas Goddard massive game up the left side to set.
Up the Saquon Barkley touchdown.
But Dallas Goddard, the unsung hero of Sunday for the Eagles, the walk on for South Dakota State going up with the Penn State star player in Sagon Barkley. These are the kind of games if we're going to talk about just stacking wins, the Chiefs did it kind of ugly and the Eagles did it really ugly. But sometimes that's the kind of team that you find playing in January and you're like, man, how about that win against the Saints in September and totally turned the team around. And Nick Sirianni having to work with a lot of different personalities and emotions on the sideline. Sometimes he does some things that I'm very impressed with in terms of managing this team because it's a lot of big You see Cheauncey Gardner Johnson, you sit in a power move on his sit in the media. He's like, everyone, come talk to me and I'm going to answer these questions.
I thought that was kind of entertaining.
To fascinating numbers by Goddard and he was so big with the two wide receivers down a call out to our research department and to social media. When's the last time of tight end at one hundred and seventy yard game?
Who was?
I wonder who it was? I know Kittles had some big games, Peter, you have any guests. Porta had a couple of big ones. I don't hit won seventy though.
Let's go the races on research departments social media tweet the show.
Who can Win?
When's the last time a tight end had one hundred and seventy plus yards in a game?
You're often running go it is the first time it's been done in Eagles history.
I do know that for a fact. I just don't know.
Yeah, I don't know who's done it most recently in the NFL. We got got to rewind that segment. So to come on our first hour of Good Morning Football. It's a Monday, we're partying, we're rolling here, we are.
Good Morning Football.

This is the match made in heaven right here. Peter, He's we'll let us start next week.
I think so.
You think so.
He's had some had some bad place, but he's also made some Google it's young.
We do it.
They're oh and three. They're lost by sixteen points. The Packers are really good.
That's all I want to share. Now, Sherry, what do you think about my dad? He's gonna be eighty this year. He's getting a Captain in Coca And did you.
Know what's crazy? We did it at a Hibachi restaurant in front of you.

Look at them.
Over the weekend, after the win over the Texans, the Vikings starting the season three and oh for the first time in eight years, running back Aaron Jones posting his first one one hundred yard rushing game since joining Minnesota. He ended the day with one hundred and forty eight yards of total offense to go along with a touchdown. He spoke with our Tom Pellisero after the win about life in Minnesota.
After years of coming in here as a visitor, How fun are you? How much fun are you having as a.
Bike I'm having a blast.
This is probably some of the most fun I've had in my career. Just a great, great group of guys in that locker room, great group of coaches. They make it fun to come in here and play. These great fans out here. They affected the game many times. I know you've seen it. I want to say, it's close to one hundred and thirty decibels in here, which is crazy. I've never seen that, so I think it's a hand in hand in hand.
Everybody has a piece of it.
I don't have to tell you where you're going next. What's this week going to be like? Preparing to face your old team at lambeau Field, the same as it has been the last three weeks. You know, just one day at a tom focus. Don't make it anything more than it is. It's a game. But when I'm back there, just be have.
Gratitude for where I come from and where it all started.
Hope you gets a warm reception back there at Lambo. But time now for this week's replay review.
We look at.
Impactful official reviews of a play from Sunday.
We're gonna take a look at the forty nine ers Rams game.
Just under two minutes.
To play, tide Rock Berny flushed out, takes it off the sideline and then look jer Vers initially flagged for a hit out of bounds, but look the new rule replay assist shows Perty was indeed contacted in bounds. They picked up the flag. The Rams rallying back twenty seven twenty four to win that one, and so they come here on the show. The plays we had to reach and remote finally, remote said, wait, I gotta.
See that again.
You got to rewind that is next a.
Lot of football to watch on Sundays.
There's a lot.
Well, guess what we found some plays is that we want to make you watch again.
It's called rewind that. Hello, Peter, you go firsty.
I'm watching this Rams forty nine Ers game. The Rams are coming all the way back and play by play man Adam Amen.
Sets it up perfectly, says there.
Is a punt returner for the Rams who has never touched a ball in his NFL career from Florida A and M, a player who wrote letters to colleges to see if he could play for them, and now he's on the field for.
The biggest moment of the game. Adam Aman, Fox Sports take it away.
At Xavier Smith hoping to get a chance at the first big play of his NFL career.
Thirty three yard cut.
Here Putty Smith touchs Xavier Smith.
The first touch of his NFL career.
Text the Lambs out near midfield, first touch of his NFL career.
Amin set it up perfectly and Xavier Smith takes it thirty seven yards. They would convert one more play and then they would kick a field goal.
And beat the hated forty nine ers. This Rams win was so gutsy, so so.
Unheralded with what they did with all these players who had not made plays.
But his story's amazing.
Xavier Smith wrote letters to one hundred different colleges as a high school player, ends up at Florida A and M, where he was the MVP of the HBCU Bowl, gets drafted, and he gets put on this team, and then here we go, they win.
It's a good check when the sideline freaks out like that. How about some doink action for my rewind that that is rookie kicker for the Vikings, Will rekerd aka Will the Thrill aka Will Striker aka Shaggy because the rookie is not cutting his hair until he misses.
He is perfect so far this season. Riker fired up and the Vikings should be too. Peter all three phases right.
Let's go, Well, mind, I'm going to roll down here to the Rams game. I'm going to talk about my guy, Kyra Williams, Small Biles, who no, he got a shit, he gotta go. Hey what the front flip the somersault for his fourth touchdown of the year three games into the season.
This dude is out here.
Doing front fliff and going ahead showing up the don't it deepest of the nine.
Listen, we're fifty five minutes into the show. We haven't talked about the Carolina Panthers. We're talking about the Panthers right now. Give it to me, my man, Robert Hunt. Not only Panthers offensive lineman. Panthers watch the that's since the twenty twenty four Panthers.
That's right. We're gonna win today. We're gonna win on the road, We're gonna win going away. You might remember Robert.
Hunt his viral highlight when he was on the Dolphins and picked up a ball, did a somersault in the end zone trying to score. That's him throwing Roberts Bulane, one of the tougher guys in the league. And that's exactly what the Panthers did to the Raiders. I loved it, Robert Hunt. I'm here for you. Break up the Panthers. Don't let the Panthers get hot, guys. They were awesome yesterday and that play was just part of it.
Kyle, is that just a consolation prize?
Like?
Does he not qualify for Angry runs or could we see that tomorrow as well?
Ball carriers only guys. Robert Hunt has been in the segment before because.
He had the ball in his hand. It's a delightful highlight of the jolly Man. We got a load of dance card and angry runs this week.
Mister Hunt, I support your work, but you won't be part of it tomorrow.
Never used to explain angry runs as a delightful carry by a jolly man.
That was at whind Matt. That was our first hour here on GMFB. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
What's up?
They win another close one biggest takeaways from their matchup against the Falcons.
And don't worry, We're going to talk about the Seahawks. I feel like you're stressing out. We're going to get there.
That's your other three and oh team, the Chiefs, the Vikings, the Steelers, the Seahawks. We're rolling on a Monday
