Good morning football.
Hey everybody, welcome inside. Good morning football. We are presented by old Trapper Beef Jerky. Cheers everybody. We are alive in Los Angeles today. It's Monday in every eighteenth after a very impactful Sunday and week eleven. This is Kyle Brandt, That's Peter Scheger. Here's Akbar buj by Milla. I'm Jamie at all. My goodness, you mailed it. What a Sunday. Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
I think it was the rare week where we hyped it so much and all week like this is the game of the game of the week.
This, No, this is the game of the week. They were all awesome.
It was great Seattle, San Francisco, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and then of course the big Enchilada Buffalo versus Kansas.
How about Green Bay versus Cargo? Was somebody either we're going to get into all.
That Sunday night flirted with not being great and then it turned some things around at halftime, which was lovely to see.
Yeah, it did it happen right across the street more we're sitting right now, and it was called Bengals versus Chargers. Let's get into it. If you don't mind with the lead block. You got Joe Burrow, you got Justin Herbert, who I saw yesterday. I was staying at the hotel with the Chargers and I saw him walking out get on the bus.
Oh, I really did. It was really cool holding up poster and no, I was got put dupree too. It was very exciting. Guys, Yes, I did, like how else? I yes? I said, I saw him right through the love here thirty one seconds left? What's Herbert gonna do? Left?
And regulation Peter LD MacConkey, who do you want?
The ball in their hands? In less than two minutes in the game, Jerry Rice, you want lay?
You guess what you want to give it to. JK.
Dobbins and Chris Collins were screaming go down. No, he said, I don't care. I'm not gonna be one of those heroes who does the noble thing and it goes down. I'm gonna score. And he did and they win, and there is you could take that from any Bengals game all year. They got Herbert absolutely incredible.
First half and then they cling to dear life in.
The second thirty four to twenty seven. Got charge of seven and three.
Seven and three, that should be a bigger deal. Well, let's try to make it that way.
Unfortunately, their head coach was a little down of the dumps afterwards and showed no energy.
Go Jim, for sure, you meant general thoughts on a win like that, great.
Win, great team win.
It's just uh it was.
It was awesome.
What was the conversation on the sideline when the Bankers had came back and tacked the game up.
What was your message to the team there?
Uh, respond this because just because we lost the momentum didn't mean they had it, and uh, we're gonna get it back. Guys just don't know, you know, didn't flinch, didn't buckle, didn't even stumble, just kept right at it and responded.
Truth be told, That was the Chargers as a whole. When they hired Jim Harbaugh this offseason, when he came walking in the building, he said, because that's the kind of game that he would win, and he would coach this team. And you need seven and three, Peter, your takeaways from being in La on a Sunday night for Sunday football.
There are ghosts in that building for this team and in that uniform and with that quarterback, and it looked like the ghosts were coming out. The highlight tells the story of this great heroic comeback in Harbaugh's you know, energy unknown to mankind stuff.
But they were up twenty four.
To six and rolling in this game, and then they had a meltdown. You go to the second half of this game, Cincinnati came roaring back. Chargers are up twenty four to six, and Herbert's there, and then you get this key fumble, and it felt like the entire momentum of this game changed right here. Herbert's been amazing all evening fumbles, Bengals recover, Okay, here we go. And then they had a couple third down conversion opportunities where Herbert has been lights out all season. This one here, he's got mconkey wide open, just sails it over his head.
And then this one here in.
The next drive, it's got and it's ugh. Bengals would come back and tie this game twenty seven to twenty seven.
Peter, the charges were charging. This is the exactly we're charging. If it is ever a verb, it was appropriate here.
They were charging this thing up on national TV in front of a national audit in front of many skeptics.
But what happens.
They did something that they used to not do. They responded, And I liked that quote from Harbor that you know, just because we lost the momentum didn't mean they got it.
That's right, cool quote it is.
And here they go, minute twenty seven. Herbert drives the length of the field and gets them into what would be a game winning field goal opportunity.
But instead they're like.
You know what, let's just put this thing away with a touchdown run by JK. Dobbins who doesn't know about the ghosts and doesn't know about the demons and is new to the team, and liked their head coach and like their offensive corneror and like their defensive coordinator. Didn't want to hear about any of past Chargers franchises. It was about this one. They're seven and three, they sure they can respond, and they've got one of the best quarterbacks in football.
Yeah they do.
And on the other side too, that was the another good quarterback in Joe Burrow. But I thought it came down to that very les last drive. You think about, you know, the Bengals being able to have that opportunity. They have this one play going down to Jamar Chase and Jamar Chase, you know, obviously an outstanding game, outstanding performance right here.
Look at the player.
They've just missed it.
But those are the type of critical plays you've got to make, especially when you're going up against a team that was, I mean outstanding. That first half was just like you guys said, it was a clinic justin Herbert put it out there. But what you want to see when you have a guy like Joe Burrow and you have that kind of talent, you want to be able to see them make those big plays. And we didn't see that. They're sitting there four and seven. They notoriously start slow. They start the season slow, they start their game, this game off slow. That's not gonna cut it, I mean, And unfortunately I think this is this is it.
I mean, I don't think forces.
Yeah, that's tough to climb out of.
Well, I'll get to that in a second. First of all, the Chargers are seven and three. The Chargers are seven and three. They're gonna be a tough out the playoffs because they're gonna finish eleven and six. They're going to be in and before the second half last night. They play amazing defense of Peter Chronicle last year, and they have a quarterback and they have a coach. They're going to be a tough and that could be the team wildcard weekend on a Saturday, who beat some team that.
We expected to go far. I love the Chargers did, but we have some business.
Take care with the Bengals, and I have some business that I've been avoiding and I'm trying not to do. Okay, I don't, Jamie, but like I'm a professional, like we're paid professional, we have to do things we don't want to do. We have always loved, as everyone does, our friends at TNT and Charles and Kenny and Ernie.
So I got to do this. The Bengals, it's over. They're gone fishing. Guys, I can't follow you.
They're four and seven, they've lost three of four and leave this up. This is why I love this team, because it's not just some bad team that's four.
And seven, all right.
You have Joe Burrow, who's leading the NFL in passion touchdowns.
You have Trey Hendrickson who's leading the NFL in sacks.
You have Jamar Chase, who is leading the NFL and receiving yards and that's Higgins exploded last.
Night and you got coach.
It's a crazy, weird, memorable bad team. It's one of my favorite losing teams in this generation. Are always electric, they always light it up. They're great national TV games. We've had amazing spotlight games for.
The last n that Thursday night gave you some the Ravens, and last.
Night they're awesome.
They're four and seven and it's like, you're going where I can't follow.
I've said this many times.
There is one active quarterback in the league who's ever beaten or beaten Mahomes.
In a playoff game. It's more interesting.
I think if the Bengals in the playoffs, maybe they win six in a row, but I don't think so. I didn't want to hit them with the gone fishing, But in honor of Ernie and Charles and Shack and everybody, I think we have to just let the Bengals go.
We don't want to, but they're making us.
Watch them drift out into the Pacific.
And gold ones. See you next year, see in many cames.
Is while that the Chargers at seven and three, that is still we're gonna talk about the AFC, the fifth best record in the AFC, the fifth seed in the AFC. Right now, we'll unpack the rest of the conference and what happened on Sunday, Crazy, weird, memorable, and bad. Ian Rappaport, good morning to you. Perhaps those are some adjectives New York and the Giants could consider in their tenure at starting quarterback.
That's right, we have some consequential news, big time news for the New York Giants. Sources say they are benching starting quarterback Daniel Jones. This decision that they weighed over the entire bye week, made firm and final, informed doll parties this morning. The starter twenty four forty four to one as the starting quarterback in year two of a big time contract extension. Daniel Jones now heads to the bench. The Giants are two to eight and gentle manager Joe Shane said they would make a football decision as far as who is going to be their starting quarterback. That is exactly what they made. It has been a rough, rough season. Certainly you mentioned Daniel Jones has had his moments, laden games when it really mattered, not enough moments. The team simply wants to win more football games. And they are choosing another.
Quarterback to do it.
They also, by the way, protect themselves on twenty three million dollars guaranteed for injury next year. So Daniel Jones heads to the bench. Their backup quarterbacks are Drew lock and Tommy DeVito. Tommy Veto had some excellent moments in relief.
Dan, thank you so much. We appreciate you. Peter your thoughts on the Giants making this football decision.
Waited on the bye week.
Joe Shane was actually in Colorado watching Shador Sanders and the Colado Buffaloes over the weekend. On the bye week, Giants are one and five in close games. They've gotten little to nothing from the quarterback position, and Daniel Jones is not a second or third year guy, He's a six year player. That season is most likely done for New York. So why not see what you got and Drew Locke see what you got in time of the video and see if they can give a lift to the team. But I would assume that the Daniel Jones era in New York for the Giants, with a high draft pick coming up, is likely coming to a close after this year.
Joe Shane racking up the miles he and all the college quarterbacks play this season. He's got to keep an eye on them. The Giants one of many teams the Steelers have beat this season. Right now, there is a battle for the AFC North. However, the Steelers bubble to the surface. Yesterday taken on the Ravens were the We're talking Ravens. Steelers got highlights and much more.
Next couplets, give me your boozy. Peters wants a little shot of whiskey. Okay, zero o'clock in the morning.
It is right now plus all right, Bill's cheats, dramatic, exciting.
We ask they deliver.
These guys are ever gonna play a game that's like twenty six to ten? I don't think they are all time moments, but a lot of unfinished business.
We hit all the classics. Give me a little shot of what is it? Why not get a little waye music or no.
Good morning?
Each spells Western New York. There they are, you know the deal. The Chiefs have won fifteen straight games. It's tied for the eighth longest win streak in the Super Bowl era.
But early on, this.
Is Pat's mahomes first pass of the game. He steps up under press right, it's picked, oh Taylor, rat is the route on hell though, never Let's see.
What the Bills have to go on.
They're up to four and a half to play. Alan, look catch by secure my goal. Theresa care was money yesterday.
He was really tough. He got knocked out of the game.
He came back in and here's everything fortant to You could go for the kick that would.
Put you up five, but then you give the ball back to Mahomes.
McDermott says, let's go for it. Alan looking faking the screen and he takes off through the Western New York nos Jimnet.
Says, it's the player of the year in the NFL. And he scores the place he erupts. They go up by two scores. That's a big time play right here, time play. Horrible tackling by the Chiefs at the end. Don't think they were trying to strip it? And Alan can he beat the Chiefs again?
Even after the score, you're like a Mahomes could still pull it out brobably, but he did not.
Nine and one. The Chiefs have their first loss of the year and the Bills have another regular season win over the Chiefs. We'll get into it thirty to twenty one.
Let's hear from the two quarterbacks after another classic.
Anytime you give the ball back to Patton that offense, you know, down six with the game on the line, I'll tell you what they'd like their odds in that situation. So wanting to get six or seven to try to make it a two score game and our defense vote up there at the end, and a heck of a play by TV.
You can use it as fuel. I mean, like I said, that's a good football team. So I'm nothing to hang your head out head on. I'm losing to them, but we feel like we can play better. So we'll get back to work and try to use this as a spark so that we can be a better football team in the end. And the undefeated thing was cool, but that's not our ultimate goal, so we'll keep building towards that.
Well.
The Chiefs had won fifteen straight games, including the Super Bowl last year. Both those quarterbacks head to head including the playoffs, Now of each one four games, Peter, what do you unpack though from watching this one?
I want to give Sean McDermott his flowers this morning. I think Sean McDermott coached a heck of a game last night, and last year in the playoffs, we gave Sean McDermott grief for calling and inexplicable at the time fake punt when he was trying to be aggressive, trying to do something to break up what the Chiefs were doing scoring every time. And we came on the show and on Monday morning I came out like, what are you doing? A fake punted demor Hamlin. Well, last night, they're up two points and it's third down, and here's what the call is on third down in a spot that they absolutely needed. It was a handoff no yards. All right, A field goal is the conventional thing to do. And if you've got ghosts in the past about being too aggressive and they go for it on fourth and Josh Allen is Superman and we're gonna do flips over Allen all morning. It's fine. The courage, the wherewith all the trust in your team to be like, you know what, we're going for it again. I do not want to give Mahomes the ball with a five point deficit in the fourth quarter. We have to keep going for it. We have to put our foot to the gas. Sean McDermott is often a punching bag. Sean McDermott is never a coach of the year. Sean McDermott out coached his mentor Andy Reid last night, and Sean McDermott's boys are now nine and two of a tiebreaker over the chief if it gets to that point. Credit to Sean McDermott. That team played great. The coaching staff came prepared, and with all the CBS people there, including the pregame show and a huge national audience, the bill silence any doubters last night.
Yeah, they did.
I mean, and they played with that mock See, they were tough. It was really impressive to watch. I know, I've been saying this whole time that I truly believe that the Chiefs were going to be undefeated. They just had that will to win that you just start seeing to them. But then as you started to look at this game and you started to realize, like one of the biggest deficiencies that stands out from the years past is the ability to make those deep those deep passes, and that's something that the Chiefs just they haven't found the answer. And that course, Xavier Worthy has been phenomenal as a young, young talent. But when you talk about being able to make those big plays, just like this stuff that's gotta have awareness, and this right here obviously low awareness. They practice this. Wide receivers practice this kind of stuff all the time, being able to have that imaginary red line so you understand where you are space.
And when you look at.
The numbers for Patrick Mahomes since twenty twenty one when Tyreek left, the numbers and the percentages of the deep passes they have continuously gone down. In this last game twenty seven percent on those deep passes. I think that's going to be the thing that separates the Chiefs if they don't. If they're not able to get that game going and get that deep thing going, it's going to be very, very hard. Because the Buffalo Bills they looked so good, so tough, and this.
Is how it goes. You finally lose and everyone just lines up to pick away at you, and who in the AFC's going to take you out of you? I have no ill will at all for the Chiefs. Today.
They gave up thirty points for the first time since the Eagles Super Bowl, which was two Super Bowl wins ago. They went up against the Bills team that was better last night. They fought, they didn't, they came up short. It's fine. I just think for the Bills, I think today and anybody connected to their team, today is not a day of celebration. This is not a break to table day. This is not a parade day. Very exciting play all time. Josh Allen will show it when he retires. But if you're looking to how to act as a Bills fan Bill's Mafia, look at number seventeen after the game with Tracy Wolfson.
This was perfect.
You said all week, it's just another week eleven game. You just ruin their perfect season, you beat your rival.
Really, is it just another week eleven win? Or does this one mean more? It is it's another week eleven win.
Knowing how things usually play out, we'll probably see this team again at some point. We had to get there first, so we'll, like I said, enjoy this bye week, go into it next week or the week after that, and try to put together a good game plan. Try to go one to know.
I know there's this feeling from Bill's fans.
We're like, give us a little something, Josh does No, no, no, I'm not.
Give you a squat. You know why, because we've beaten these guys four times. This is what I do.
I know how to beat Patrick Mahomes. I know how to beat the cheese. This is not a holiday, this is not special I'm not throwing a party. This is not a parade.
He said it. We're gonna see them again.
He knows exactly what time it is, and that is the legacy of this game. I'm in my hotel room yesterday. I'm in California. I don't live here. So after the game is over on CBS, it goes to local programming, it goes to KKAW and I'm watching the k CAW desk and it's the legendary Jim Hill and he's there with two analysts and they go, Wow, what an incredible Chiefs Bills game.
What do you think? What's your takeaway? The first thing.
Out of this guy's mouth is, well, they're gonna see him in the playoffs, like not even a second to say like great win. And he's right, He's right. I said it last week, you guys. I don't think the stakes of this were terribly high. If the Bills win, you know, every member of Chiefs Kingdom is laughing right now and they are rolling their eyes.
Ooh. The Bills beat.
Us in the regular season again like clockwork. If I'm a Bill's mafia general, if I'm living in Buffalo watch seventeen, it's no big deal.
We beat the Chiefs.
We know how to beat the Chiefs, and this year we'll try to beat them in the playoffs. But normally the Josh Allen stick on the Chiefs is a little annoying because of the monotone. It seems subhuman. I think that's exactly how you like. This is not a big deal. You're the Bills there, the Chiefs start acting like this is normal, and it will be.
He said, you know, fans don't jump on the tables today in celebrasion. There are no tables left after the CBS pregame show.
Was there. JJ broke Nate broke them just over and over, Matt Ryan.
Is that a thing I'm not familiar. So if you go to buffer they jump on tables, is that a thing like?
I think it like a card table.
I've never I've not seen this.
They jump off it and it breaks. That's very and you missed that.
I haven't.
I don't have a lot of football.
Yeah, got these ratings.
What the wings tastes?
To Akbar's point, Peter, with the Chiefs and the Steve Spagnolo defense, like they can get after a quarterback, what about this defensive side and the fact that against one of the Juggernauts in the AFC, you just gave up this many points. You let him run all around Chiefs defense.
Yeah, I honestly thought the CHIEFSD held up. It was a betting but don't break thing and at the end, Josh did what Josh does. I'm more concerned, like a Bar said, with the offense, Travis Kelsey had two catches for eight yards. Now you could say that that's that's the Lamborghini in the garage.
You saved that for January.
When you need him, he's gonna do his ten for one thirty and two touchdowns. They don't have the Rashi Rice that they had early in the season. They don't have Hollywood Brown deep. So you're throwing it to Justin Watson and Noah Gray and Xavier You are worthy and those guys are all young, formidable players. But I'm not scared of the Chiefs offense right now, and I don't think the rest of the league is either.
Where are we at with the mystique?
Like Peter, it's January right now it's Buffalo's Kansas City.
I mean, are you taking the Bills in this game? I might be.
Yeah, there's been no from the chief They've gotten very fortunate and they have put themselves in positions to win. But like, you're not gonna win by blocked field goals from thirty yards out everything.
Well, listen to respect to you, Awkby. They were never gonna go in. Defeed it they lost the game. They're nine and one. What's interesting now, like not from the thirty thousand, it's the.
One seat is interesting?
Yeah, this is fascinating because now it really is something. Now we got nine to two versus nine and one, and now the Chiefs it never mind undefeated, like they gotta get the one. They don't want to play wild card weekend, and this win was huge for that. We're gonna talkbou this win for weeks, but they'll made it again in the player.
The Bills are half game back from the Chiefs right now. And then there's this other warhorse in THEFC. No one saw coming this high up in this conference, and they're called the Pittsburgh Steelers.
All right, let's see, I'm Jackson did and now here comes mister Wilson.
I guess there is people on a couple MVPs.
People are just kind of casually throwing Lamar's name around this year for MVP, and then Derrick Henry Fumble first carried.
Do you know how rare that is? I have the numbers, five hundred and thirty eight straight touches.
Without a fumble. Wow, And he slams his helmet. Then there's this guy, so you know, just Tucker's star. His name goes thrown around his Hall of Famer and something's going on with him. It's not just one or two. He keeps missing quoting I need on the call. The struggles are real, and they are he missed a couple of them.
Every time he comes.
Out to make a kick, they say is most accurate kicker in NFL history. And if he was another guy without his resume, he wouldn't have a job right now, So there's the Justin Tucker portion of the program. Nice guy been on the show several times. Sings opera fourth.
Quarter eighteen and ten.
Now Lamar awake, Zave Flowers got it touchdown ten plus six is sixteen. That means they need a two point conversion. I don't know what this play call was, but I would.
Get rid of it.
This play had never had a shot. It's a really ugly two point conversions. Biggest play of the game. Lamar's got the ball in the hands, great, but he just gets dragged down and throws up a prayer as Joey Porter Junior.
Pulls him down. Gets who else was there? Joe Easy, Joseph Eugene Porter, his government name, guys. The Steelers win.
When you watch the wide angle of that two point, it's weird because likely and Andrews were right there.
And there's Agalar's yelling.
At It's like they messed it up, and then they lost as to the Steelers, as they almost always do.
Eighteen to sixteen. The Steelers control the AFC North. They're eight and two. Let's go to Lamar and John.
Harbaugh, both in a loss after beating themselves with penalties.
It's been that way for ever since last year, I believe you know, going back to the Anti Championship game, we killed ourselves Chiefs game, the Open killed ourself, Raiders who killed ourselves, and today same thing. It's just like, we can't beating ourselves in these type of games. You gotta find the way.
To figure that.
And we're gonna cut down on the penalties.
That's very important. We've done it before. On offense.
We haven't had a lot of those in some of our big offensive games, but today that was a big problem.
All Right, in the L column, you got penalties, mistakes, miss opportunities for Baltimore. That's fine. Then you have a half a dozen field goals for Chris Boswell and Pittsburgh. Can you imagine that this is the way this is going to look like? The Steelers said, Ravens, come to our town, come to our dark cave, and welcome you in, and we're going to beat you any way that we decide, Peter how to do it. And they did so against the against the Ravens.
Yeah. Look, the Steelers were not looking like a Super Bowl champion hiper in this game. I think Russell Wilson went two of seven in the red zone through a horrible interception. The Ravens just happened to be worse.
The Ravens have issues.
You watch those highlights, like, all right, they got a chance at the end to do it. All the little things that the Ravens used to do right, they're doing wrong, like Justin Tucker missing these kicks here, little things like that the fans don't see. But you make decision choices too. This is a close, one score game. Throughout the game, Derek Henry only touched the ball thirteen times all season. They've been awful in the defensive backfield. This play here, like right off the face mask and then the two point of version, Kyle, you see Aglar screaming at someone beforehand. This is after a time hour.
It looked like they're going to do a jump pass. They didn't get a chance to do it.
The Ravens didn't deserve to win this game, and they don't deserve to be discussed like super Bowl contenders when they win and shootouts thirty six to thirty five against the Bengals. We celebrate Lamar as the MVP, and we're doing Steph Curry, you know, cutups and stuff. But they're a mediocre team right now. They're seven and four. They're in the mix. They'll play wild Card weekend right now, and you'll see maybe they'll win around But like I can't come in this morning and be, you know, excited about the Ravens and the Steelers. Steelers, that's a great win for them, and they did it because that's how they do it. The Ravens though they are four losses, and those four losses, they do not look great.
They don't look great, and that has a lot to do with that defense. That defense was out there like I mean, just I mean literally, they were thugging it. They were playing some really good ball. But I thought it was great, you know, because it was a nasty win if we're honest and we look at it was a nasty win for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the way they won this game is in this turn that is kind of being overplayed complimentary football. When your offense can't score touchdown, then obviously you rely on your kicker, but also to good defense. But look at this right here. This is critical right here because watch Russell Wilson. He's scrambling around and this is a big time pick right now. In this situation, to score in the red zone, you throw a pick. But what does the defense do on the next drive? They do this and then Wilson throws it interception and then Wilson on defense gets an interception that to me is the type of football that you need to play in order to stay alive. They're sitting there at eight and two. But the defense, I mean, they were all over the place. Patrick McQueen, I mean, was just playing big time, big time football.
So good stuff.
Do I say, McQueen, you did think Queen McQueen's I said this yesterday on Fox. Tomlin brings out Patrick Queen to the opening coin toss and to Sean Elliott makes a big play like the Steelers do not like the Ravens, and it showed and they get to win.
If I was Steelers, I would love the Ravens because you always beat them. We do the whole long video package and the great the history and that's all wonderful and hinz Ward and Ed Reid and I love that stuff.
Do we have any of that back and forth from like the last few years.
Is this a rivalry because I always define rivalries as necessitating back and forth.
It's not just history. Bears Packers ain't a rivalry. We'll get to that late. It is not.
I've said that over and over. You have to have some sides win each time. And you go into this game and You're like, you get that note from research where it's like.
The Steelers have won seven of eight against Baltimore.
You're like, that can't be right, Like, there's no possible what They've won eight of nine against Baltimore. So now you get into the territory of like, can John Harbaugh beat Mike Tomlin? And John Harbaugh a legendary guy, can he beat Mike Tomlin in his own division? And then it gets really dicey because Peter and I talk about this sometimes, be very careful criticizing Lamar whatsoever. It's dangerous waters on the internet because he has fiercely loyal fans, and I don't know if there's a player in the league who is more emblematic of their franchise than Lamar.
He is sacred and I love Lamar.
He's a very likable guy. He's terrible against Pittsburgh. Not my opinion, not my opinion at all, because he's very likable. You know, it's not likable, bring it up. He's terrible and likes bad. This is for him against any other team as a starter, against not some random one off, not even the Chiefs, which I'm leaving out of this conversation.
Is also terrible. This is against your biggest rival.
You play at least twice a year, and likely this year we'll play three times.
Worst worst, worst, worst worst.
Lamar is one of the best football players that ever lived. He plays his worst football against the Steelers.
Now, if it's once or twice, I wouldn't go out of my lanes to decap him and say, why.
Are you so bad?
It's not once or twice. It's really the entire length of his career. These quarterbacks that he's losing to this. This isn't like prime Roethlisberger.
There's Trubisky's beaten the Ravens.
We got Mason Rudolph being there, Kenny Pickett, New Russell Wilson throwing interceptions in the back of the end zone. Just click and guess what happened After you do that, they beat Lamar Jackson, the MVP.
Of the league.
So listen, Lamar's great. You gotta be able to beat the Steelers.
Patrick Mahomes doesn't go around like playing as worst football against.
The Broncos or the Raiders.
Peyton Manny would not play as worst football against the Titans in your division. You got to be the man, and I love Lamar, and I hope this they turn this thing around.
You love Lamar, but if we love Lamar.
We have to respect him enough to say, dude, you're not playing well against your biggest rival, and by the way, your coach is getting circles ran around you by his biggest rival.
There's problems in Baltimore.
They play Week sixteen on a Saturday in a lone window at four point thirty in Baltimore Week sixteen, I have to think either the division or a playoff Berth for the Ravens will be at stake, and Lamar is a chance to silence all of us. Maybe Justin Tucker can make a kick as well.
Yeah, we'll see perhaps friendlier at homeber him. We like to respect the sanctity of rivalries, but also just the term revenge game. Can I tee you up on Patrick Queen and perhaps that this felt like in a Boally revenge because look at this quote from Mike Tomlin from the Steelers. One man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm glad he's on our team. That is a gentleman's handshake between Mike Tomlin and Patrick Queen, having been as Queen said, cast aside by the Ravens not resigned to this Baltimore defense. Your thoughts on revenge play out of Patrick Queen and how great that must have filt this.
This is why, this is why I hate the term, because you're supposed to save the term for moments like this, just because someone changes teams and eventually plays against their old team.
People were trying.
To make Ooh, Malik Willis against the Titans of the revenge game. He's like, no, Patrick Queen going from the Ravens to the Steelers getting a hand, that's a revenge game.
You want to quote? He said, Motivation is good. We're human and everyone wants to feel wanted, and so I'd imagine it's not only a motivation for him this week, but it's probably been a motivation for him every single week.
I remember Arthur.
Smith fired by Atlanta, discarded, Russell Wilson just traded for a bag of footballs by the Denver Broncos. Justin Fields discarded for nothing, Pat your Queen, Deshaun Elliott, those guys were not wanted by Baltimore.
Tom One knows how to press the buttons. Absolutely.
Listen, Peter, you you have a you go to Baltimore off and I heard it's pretty nice these days. I'll never be able to go again because I pointed out some fact Lamar Jackson.
Ironically, it's not the Ravens fans who are as protective as you think they're critical. It's the national media and everyone's like very touchy of.
Like Lamar is the great, I get it.
But Ravens fans they can look in the mirror after a game like that and say, we're not gonna know.
And I would say, I think they would appreciate you on that one, because sometimes you just got to call it out. This is like having that friend, like you know what I'm saying, that's your dog, that's your friend, and their breathstink. Like you have to say like do like and you appreciate, you know that feeling that you get like, oh man, thank you man, I appreciate you.
You got some spinach in your two. You know, I'm your friend, Thanks man, I appreciate it.
Right, your quarterback, But you just like in Lamar Jackson to someone's breath being smelling so like now you can't go.
Fan.
You know, forty eight percent completion rate, you know, an interception two hundred and seven yards.
All right, Russell Wilson four and oh is a Steelers starting quarterback. Try that on for size. This city is specialties. Fans are special That is a quote from Russell Wilson. Everybody about Pittsburgh, the new team who's playing?
Is he starting next week? Yeah? I don't know. Go back to.
Good football, all right, not Niners, Seahawks. No Kittle sucks out with a hamstring. But we're knocking on the door of thirteen and ten. Rock party, third and Juan. That's okay, it's all we third down with Jawan Jennings, one of the coolest players in.
The night on that draft.
Three different plays on that draft.
All right.
As Bosa stands there win seeing watching this is hero stuff. You have the Josh Allen play and then you have the Gino Smith play down for closing second. Geno, he screams the Niners fans in Fuderico can't believe it, guys.
The Seahawks alive.
And Gino says, night night, happy for Gina.
A big win.
What a division, the NAC West.
It's such a blast week to week.
And you have no idea where it's going to turn. And the Rams were down in this one Patriots would claw back. Though this Drake May is something twenty eight to twenty two. When we talk about the rookie class in La cam Kinchens is out of them, yep, out of the.
University of Miami. It just takes to see long flight back for the Rams, who have been a lot longer with the loss.
They like the Seahawks and like the forty nine ers are five and five and the Cardinals stand alone on a buy six and four And a look at that last column though forty nine ers in.
A hole here three why that is wild within that division? Kyle, congratulations again the lone man standing on a mountain in August saying the Cardinals are your playoff team.
When the Cardinals return next week, we have to shift as a show to go from talking about me picking them to be in the season. We need to shift to make it about them. So thank you and when they return from Biden, not about me.
And you should tell the local Arizona media that because I was on an interview on Friday and they asked me how many times is Kyle say I told you so? And I was like, not enough, maybe fifty time? Stops cherry right, I mean we hear.
It all on.
Kyle has to just be tired of just being right. I feel the heavy burden too.
Back, friend, he had Lions in the Super Bowl with Josh Allen the MVP.
I think Kyle deserves a bout. Are you exhausted?
Well?
The Lions offense continues to be unstoppable. This time it was against the Jaguars, but the defense coming up big as well. For this, we take you for our this week's replay review. Now, late in the third quarter, Mac Jones, the Jaguars were driving downfield, but it's safety Kirby Joseph Yes, you know his name, he comes up with the interception at the five yard line. Now, the replay review shows Kirby got two feet in maintaining possession of the ball and he stays in bounds.
It was Kirby's league.
Leading seventh interception on the season. And Christmas coming early for Beyonce fans me included. It was announced Sunday the global superstar performing at the halftime of the Ravens Texans game on Christmas Day from NRG Stadium. The game we'll be streaming live on Netflix. Beyonce, of course, born and raised in Houston, so grab your Levi's this is the first time she's performing Cowboy Carter, so don't miss it.
And of course the football game.
Still to come, though, there were some incredible plays.
From the week.
Jamie and the guys will rewind that to show which plays they just how to see again.
Peter grabbed the remote from the weekend.
That was, Yeah, we're doing our favorite plays of the week. Yeah, we're hour into the show. We haven't talked about bon Nix yet. Bo was amazing yesterday. Best rookie performance we've seen maybe all season. This past was the one I wanted to show. It's to Courtland on a perfect pass over Ajtrell onm.
Of the best corners in football. Look at the entire player.
It's a fake handoff, it's a fake pass, fake pass.
It's a rollout, and then it's a drop in the bucket. When you're feeling it, you're feeling it.
Bo Nicks was unbelievable yesterday. The stats don't even tell the story.
He was so accurate.
I am enjoying this situation in Denver and Sean Payton seems to also bo Nix my play of the day.
That perfect pass.
Like that, and let's assure everyone that's most likely not the last time we'll talk about Bonix. So we're going to get back to Okay, good, okay good. There's a player for the Steelers the last name Wilson. Everyone got it wrong when Peyton Wilson was the one that ripped this ball from Justice Hill yesterday in the fourth quarter. It's Peyton Wilson, not Logan. He plays for somebody else, not Russell. He had already thrown a pick of Peyton Wilson, also exactly the third round pick of the ninety eighth pick overall from the Spring to the Steelers out of NC State. Ridiculous strength and dedication. In this play, Peyton Wilson comes down with a game altering interception.
Jammy Owen Wilson said, Wow, but great play, Peyton.
Wow.
Hate Wilson in real minute, you know. For me, I gotta go with Jamiir Gibbs. Jamiir Gibbs. He had this outstanding little play right here, watching this little flare screen right here by.
The running back right here.
But it was the way he hit that core, like yeh, I mean, you can't just get on a quarter like that and just outrun defenders like that. It was an impressive show of speed right here. Let's take this one back again. Let's just look at this. This is beauty in the open space to be able to go out there. This fifty five yards fifty four yard reception on here. But I just love the way great blocking, but the way he got that edge man. Just this dude is so talent. This offense is just loaded. I loaded with that team the history of football.
Like.
Seventy eight Steelers, because I got one from the Lions too. Physicality is alive and well in this league. Watch, Brian Branch.
Have you seen this play? She clean as a whistle.
Folks, No flag, no injury, no nothing, just good old fashioned.
But this is representative right now of the Lions.
Boom guys, shoulder to the torso it's perfect. Put it on a poster, Brian Branch, It's still possible. I don't know why he has his mouth guard in his helmet. Doesn't matter. Everything the Lions did.
Justice heard me and I read something online and I have to have our look wan and research could double check this I saw since nineteen ninety this is the first time ever that the Lions have the best Super Bowl odds and are the Super Bowl favorites ever in the history since nineteen ninety. This week is the first time they've been number one in the league. They are the Super Bowl favorites right now according to the experts, the people that do.
The research, the people that keep the books.
Well, we're not talking about the Lions because the game wasn't terribly interesting.
Recover all the whole league.
They destroyed the team so badly, But believe me, throughout the week and weeks it's a lot of lines.
Branch and Joseph I like the way they play.
Back there, Peter, little teaser for Coach of the Week.
We got a coordinator, We got a quick We haven't talked about a certain coach whose team has won two games in a row, and he's a character on the sidelines.
We'll get into it. Coach of the Week comes up next hour.
Here we go on GMFB on a Monday. But look, Holmes, the Chiefs got their first loss of the weekend in Western New York at the hands of Josh Allen and many other with the Bills who got highlights from that game and everywhere else
