Good Morning Football.

This is Good Morning Football present a Buy best Buy. I'm Jimmy art All. This is akbar baja biamilla. This is I say a standback. We are in Los Angeles. That is Kyle Brandt, Peter strag or Peter A quick great memory you have of shopping in a best Buy as a young boy, young boy.

I'll tell you what you throw me in any NFL city, Jamie. There is nothing I like more than perusing a best Buy. And it's like there's nostalgia. But I also see the new stuff that's coming out. So I will tell you this. I am not above going to a best Buy and just walking around. I missed the indoor mall too, so that's me.

I love a best Buy's great. It's great.

We always we love anyone that brings us our show on the air here on NFL Networks. So shout out to best Buy. We love You'll slay the preseason games this weekend. We know it might not be sexy because starters aren't playing, but teams still have a lot of things to figure out ahead of the regular season.

Peter.

We know four already played last night, but let's look ahead for some answers that you are looking for this weekend.

Yeah, I'm gonna be on the call for Saturday nights Jets Giants game. It's going to be on CBS and it'll be Iron Eagle and myself, And I'm looking at these two teams and they just had this joint practice that they played against each other on Wednesday at the Jets facility, and from all accounts, the Jets torched the Giants and it was like Garrett Wilson dunking all over you know, Nick McCloud and Deontay Banks and the Jets. You know, at the end of it, Sauce Gardner gave a little wave back to the to the sideline of the Giants, and it was like, all right, the Jets seem to be ascending. What about the Giants. I want to see what version of both of these teams we get in the preseason finale. And I understand it's not going to be all the starters. I get that, but there is something you can take from when these two teams play under the lights in their stadium and you can get a feel. Let's start with the Aaron Rodgers effect. Now he's not going to play Aaron Rodgers of the plane, and we're not gonna see Tyrod Taylor. We're gonna get Adrian Martinez and Andrew Peasley, and you're gonna see some backup guys trying to.

Fight for that third seed.

But you better believe pregame sidelines and five matters, five matters. After the scar tissue that this team has from last year, I want to see what kind of action we have from this Jets team, which even if we don't see who they call G five Garrett Wilson, I didn't know that G five.

I love that nickname, even if we don't see those guys we got.

And on the other side, if we don't see Daniel Jones, what's his deal on the sideline?

Is he high up? Is he pepped up?

Is that team ready to go? Like hellot know, Giants had this whole offseason of question marks about Daniel Jones. We had the Hard Knock series obviously, where we saw they were actively trying to trade up to get Drake may or Jaden Daniels and then he didn't play great against the Texans. We're seeing a couple of plays here, but he did not play great last week. Not sure if Daniel Jones is playing or not. Haven't heard that from the Giants, but I would say that's at the very least what version of the Giants going into for Week one when they play Minnesota, because they're going to be in front of their home stadium. They're unveiling the one hundredth year of the Giants. I like to get a last taste in my mouth from these preseason games. Like last night, I'm watching Casey Chicago, like, I feel really good about both those teams. Mahomes didn't play. Mahomes was up, he was flexing, he was into a check, like vibe check.

We hate when we lose Peter on a vibe check. Are good, Peter, the vibes are back.

That was Tommy DeVito's people being like.

Don't you talk about us the.

People out of here.

Man, Hey, Tommy DeVito, peoples, please don't pull the plug when I'm speaking. I'm looking at this Seattle and Cleveland Browns game. This one's gonna be interesting, and particularly I'm looking at the Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winson, Nick Knack, Patty.

Wegg, give the dog a bone.

I mean, this is the opportunity for him to showcase that he can be a staple as this backup quarterback to Deshaun Watson. We saw what Joe Flackel did when his opportunity came up in injury situation, sixteen hundred, sixteen hundred plus yards, thirteen touchdowns, he went forward to run. So I'm looking to see because this is still a very competitive UFC North Division, and I look at these guys, the Steelers, the Ravens, the Browns, the Bengals. This is very competitive. So if Deshaun Watson doesn't return to form, or Deshaun Watson is still suffering from general arms soreness, then you know, looking at that backup quarterback and see if he can, you know, maybe even exceed what Joe Flackel did in the absence of Deshaun Watson.

Yeah, that makes sense.

But I'm gonna look at things from a little bit different perspective. I'm gonna look at it from the front office side of things. In the front office, historically, okay, prior to last year, prior to twenty twenty three, you have roster cuts. It goes from ninety to eighty five to eighty and then you get to your fifty three man roster in twenty twenty three, and in this year you go from ninety guys straight to fifty three. So from the front office perspective, instead of having that wave of players, so if you have three open spots that you need to kind of feel you got some guys that you need to Hey, we need a linebacker, we need to got a special teamer. You were able to kind of feel that out as the preseason went on because you had it coming to cuts in waves. Now you have fifteen hundred players to get literally dropped in the pool on that Tuesday, and everybody's gonna be scrammling and trying to fill out their rosters. Every team has about two to three spots that they're just kind of questionable about. So about one hundred guys around the league, now you got fifteen hundred guys that all these gems are gonna be trying to figure out who am I going to fill my roster spots with? And I have to beat the next guy to the punch. So it's gonna be very interesting to see.

Wow, I think we deserve some applause right now.

We're doing hard work.

Hard work, guys.

Pallis, Peter's doing vibe checks.

We're talking back of court.

You're not gonna play, yes, not gonna play, but yes, but.

But they're not gonna be there on the side. There we go. What's their body language?

I want to see they know Jones like yay or like yeah.

I don't know. And we'll break up, you know what.

Not only are we gonna preview it, we'll break it down on Monday. And it's it's these these things are like you go to see a band that you really like, but they don't play any songs that you know, and you're like, what is this play the hits? But there is one band that's playing the hits and it's a Hall of Fame band.

Guys.

There is real actual stakes in the Steelers last preseason games, Steelers at Lions. This is the Steelers matter. They always matter. They're usually in the playoffs. If you're a fan of the Bengals, the Ravens, the Browns, you gotta like, is it gonna be Russer Fields?

This is legitimately up for grabs.

Not only this, like you know this quarterback comps is, who's gonna lock down the number two spot for the Panthers.

Who cares you know what?

Mike Tomlin just pulled the plug on.

Kyle. What did I say, steel workers?

I don't ask for much at this point, just can you please just keep the lights on. Mike Tomlin said that Russell Wilson is in the pole position right when this whole thing started.

Well, I did my research.

He doesn't care about your research.

Kyle.

Yeah.

Well look, that's the first time I had ever even heard the whole position, like, what is the pole position? And then someone said, oh, that's a race culture.

Yes, Kyle, do we have you back?

Continue to I was in the middle of my pole position comparison and then I was told by the producer to.

Quote stand down. So I'm going to just.

Lay out, guys, we're figuring out the kinks ourselves position.

I was gonna nails to goistics.

I don't know.

There's something that we're saying. Look at that is that is that is a Tommy DeVito's agent.

Those are the guys turning the light sound that's what they're saying.

John Zlato is pulling the plug on Peter on Vibe checks that can the whole five last year for the Giants and anything they had going on.

We're staying on the the radar this year. Do not mention his name in August and they pulled the plugs.

Oh that's also Tommybo's father. I believe, kissing you on the cheeks.

So that's how they rolled there.

I don't know if that question implied it, but did you know that preseason action rolls on the Well, take about my preseason slate and I will deliver it at some point because but we're worried about the electricity bill at this point.

We have a.

Doubleheader beginning at seven pm Eastern, Jags take it on the Falcons and then moving on as a nightcap, you'll have a final look at the Raiders and the forty nine Ers. That's ten pm Eastern for all you crazy night owls. You can stream this game on NFL Plus as well. Stella, come on our show, we hope after the break, one of Peter's favorite.

Guys, jelly Roll.

Did you know that was the name I was about to say when I'm not yah YadA yabi. Jelly Roll is one of the hottest names in music, and he decided to give the Titans a pump up speech, which is perfect because they have a mosh pit coming to Nashville this season.

Good Morning Football snow Man has entered the building here on Good Morning Football.

He is a longtime friend of our show, a Buffalo Bill entering his eighth season all with the Bills. He is Dean Dawkins.

What Snowman.

It's a great hat, It's a great look. We always love the energy, even when they make you sit in an empty practice facility and talk to us this early in the morning. Very serious, very demure, very calm. No Schnowman brings.

It all right.

Week six, Monday Night Football at the Jets. Personally, I am circling this game. The way the season started last year between these two teams, the way this division is playing out. Why is this Jets Bills rivalry building into something that we are highly anticipating.

I mean, I cause a lot of problems when it comes to conflict with teams, and I'm okay with that. You know, as performers, as entertainers were put here to perform and entertain, So I'm gonna entertain. I'm gonna do my part. But I think overall, though, truly it's a divisional thing. I haven't even looked that far ahead. I don't want even my coach to hear me talking about we talk about week six.

But since we're talking about it, let's talk about it.

It's a division Yes, since it's a divisional game with any team, whether it's the Patriots, the Jets, or the Dolphins, it's going to be it's going to be a grinder UFC match Dana White every time.

This is just what it is the.

Fastest and easiest way to make it to just that next step is winning your division, which is you handle your division, you get a.

Playoff appearance, you get to be in the big race.

And I think that when it comes to teams that you played twice a year, it goes through a lot of flows of gritty, gritty battles with them being in the division, you know, the intensity is super high and the violence is through the roof.

We appreciate that State of the Nation address on the Division on you guys playing the Jets. Anytime someone says violence through the roof, Kyle Brant would go through the roof for that answer, but I'm gonna have to ask it of you instead. Peter Schrager and Kyle they were at Jets camp. They were at their facility back in early August, and they actually asked Solomon Thomas about this exact topic.

Take a listen.

This is Dion on the Jets. I hate them, all of them.

There's people who play the sport because they love the sport, and there's people who play the sport just to be cool. Those are a bunch of guys who just want to take pictures on Ig. That's whack.

I do think it's interesting a guy telling us that, you know, we'd like to take Ig pictures when he's on podcasts with the shirt off, and you know, you know, so you know that's interesting. But that's just my opinion. But I'm a guy. You know, we'll see him a couple of times a year, so I'll.

Be fun, okay, safe, you know.

I think I think, you know, I want to tell Solomon that he's a great dude. You know, Walter Payton Man of the Year. I respect the player. I hate that there's a lot of people in that facility that are kind of okay guys, good like good dudes, and I just hate that they get hit with that rap. But when it comes to me, I'm for the Bills. And I'm sorry. I just I guess I'm gonna keep their name in my mouth until it's time for them to talk about it. I don't like them, I don't, you know, it's just the way it is, you know. But it's the love of the game. It's the love of the game. We're not supposed to like our enemies, like we're not friends. I don't know these guys. I don't know his wife's name, I don't know his starter's name.

I don't know nothing about you. Like, you're not my guy, you know what I'm saying.

So yeah, I gotta say, man, I love your energy. It's contagious, man, it really is. Like, Look, we know how much you love you know, Josh and you guys. You know we've been enjoying the amazing personality of Kean Coleman. You gotta let me know, I mean your personality, his personality. How is he fitting in as a rookie?

Yeah, I was nervous at first.

I was like, bro, I don't know if the high energies are gonna clash or connect, But I'm telling you, Kean has become easily one of my favorite people in this building. You would think that, like for certain players that when you get that status and that attention so quick, that it would affect you and you would start to act in a way that might not be accepted immediately in this league. But he's one of those kids that is not letting it affect them. And he's funny as heck. He is extremely funny. He is organic, he's a good player, and he cares. This kid really cares, and with the knowledge that he speaks about the game, it shocks me. Like the other day we were in the hot tub before practice and I was just letting him talk and he was speaking and he was like talking about how yeah, man, Like, when I watch film, the crazy thing is is I watch the left tackle set as well as I watched the right tackle set because I know that my timing is going to be different from releasing from the right side of the formation to the left side. And me, even like like as a eight year vet, I'm like, man, I didn't even realize that that the timing can be different just from the you lining up on the right side and the left side. But he was teaching me, and I was like, dang, bro like, but but like, this kid has been here for a second and I just took that nugget and I was like, you know what, this kid is just a little bit different from the rest, and he's off to a great start and he's already shown us things that he can do on a daily basis. And Josh, you know, Josh has this guy. So you know, Kean's here and Keana is here to stay.

It's my boy.

Guy's good to be in Hollywood.

That's what he's definitely gonna be Hollywood.

Hey, do you good to see you? Man? Hey?

I do a lot of work in terms of voter registration, and I know that you do a lot of work with NFL votes. It's a huge initiative that the league has going on. Tell us why that's important to you?

Like, I think the biggest thing is this world that like that we live in.

Everybody has a voice, you know. We have all these social platforms, we have all these.

Little bit of shooters that I call him, that you could express yourself. And with being able to express yourself, there's a lot of people that talk about it. Everybody wants to comment about this and comment about that, but you really have to go and put your talk to the paper and your talk to that vote, and when you're going to those voting centers and you're doing it in person, and you're taking that initiative to go ahead and do it, it means everything. And with the platform that we have as NFL players and dispadge that I respect so much, you have to take charge and lead. You know, if you could post on your Instagram about you in a fly fit, you've got to be able to post on your Instagram about going to vote and helping for change in the world or hoping to push the initiative that you want to support, because everybody's sway or everybody's decision matters, and just go ahead and do your thing and you never know who might you be leading. And if it just takes one more extra person to follow, then you're doing a positive and not a negative.

Yeah, it's super helpful when you do things like this because we're entering a really tricky I think three four months here where even for some people hearing go vote, Go vote can become divisive. So just you saying it, putting as simply as you just did, I think is really important and impactful for the NFL. So we appreciate you. You kind of open a can of worms in my opinion in the beginning of this interview, because once I said week six and you did not immediately backhand volley with we take it one game at a time. Then it leads me to say, let's talk about some other games of the schedule. So in the first six weeks this team, the Bills, have four prime time games. Now we love an opportunity for Schnowman to shine. How does prime time feel differently to you when you get to play in a stage like that.

I think prime time games allows individuals as well as teams to show the world who you truly are. You know, a lot of teams play in their region on their regular channels, maybe Channel two, channel I don't know, for whatever other channel it is. And when you go through that, when other people from across the country can see and hear your name and for you to perform, I think it's super We're cool because some people, now I'm gonna speak for old linemen, right, some people might not know who the left tackle is for the Colts, or for the Dolphins, or for the Jets or for the Bills in different places. But when you play on prime time, you like you get to really put on for your organization as well as yourself. And I think that it's the best way to you know, put your money where your mouth is and go ahead and do what you do because when the lights are shining bright shoot, you better be sure that you got your diamonds on. So everything that you're talking about is reflecting the right way, you.

Know, Deon, You're you're so involved, you lend your time to so many different things. Now we have you with the Pouncy Brothers for an NFL Generations piece. It must have been so cool to sit down with those guys. How special was that for you? And that experience?

Man, I just got very excited what you even mentioned in those those guys, you know, like they're my neighbors.

They're they're my neighbors in Florida.

And the Twins are a big inspiration and a big reason of why I played the way that I play, why I act the way that I act. You know, the Twins have took me under their wings during the COVID times when the gyms weren't open, when you know, guys had no guidance, Like I didn't know what to do. I didn't really like want to work out in my in my garage, they pulled me in, they took me to their gym with ak and uh, we got to it and we hit them. We ran every day and we made something out of nothing. And as an older player that I always looked up to play yours that I always looked up to, I was just blessed that they embraced me and they welcomed me into, you know, their environment of success and greatness. And the twins are my big brothers. And if you are looking at what Mike is doing specifically, you know, Mike is doing a lot in the community with the kids, and he has a football team that they win the championship every single year. And I'm huge in the community here and for Pounce doing doing that, it just makes it all seem and the understanding of that these two guys that are twin brothers are doing the right thing in life and they're showing what it could be after the football career is over, which I'm also blessed to take their guidance, and it just keep on the direction that I'm going.

But the twins are my dogs pouncers for life.

Man.

You know, I guess I could say go Gators or go Twins.

All right. You know, look, they've made so many different I mean, they've transformed their communities. They don't doing so much great work. But I have to ask you, were you surprised by the body transformation These guys now fit like right now like you.

I don't know if I want to get that skinny. They are skinny.

They are why they are wide receiver skinny, Like I'm talking about wide receiver skinny.

I'm talking about like if you see him, you're gonna be like, that's the twins.

Yeah, look at the tattoos, right, but if they didn't have all them tattoos, they would blend in talk about they look like little basketball players skinny, you know, like you could take them now.

But back in the day you wasn't talking about you.

Know, were don't save this. We're gonna save this tape and we're gonna see you after you you can retire.

She will be on your slim slim slip slip slim slim.

Bigelow man, oh Man, Dion. We appreciate you always. I'm sure the Pouncy Brothers are very proud for you to have looked up to them, for you to call them friends now, But make no mistake. Dean Dawkins not friends with guys within the division. He does not know your wife's name, he does not know your kid's name.

He doesn't care about what kids who your kids go to.

And here comes and math that you're talking about games in October. Get off MF Dion My.

God, Yeah, welcome back to g mf B.

Now the pre season is over for the Bears.

With their win over the.

Chiefs last night, there is high hopes in the Windy City heading into the season, and our very own Jeffrey Shedida talk those expectations with QB Tyson Pagent.

Wouldn't mean after everything you guys have been through so far in the off season for the team to finish strong with the preseason, Yeah.

I think it means everything.

You know, it plays.

You see how good our ones are for how hard it is to be a two on this team, So everybody's playing for a job. And I think that certainly showed in the preseason just how deep of a team that we are. And you know, really hats off to the coach of staff, Hats off to all the people in the building just building that camaraderie day in and day out. And I think we were able to showcase that every week.

In a preseason.

Now, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was a full participant in Thursday's joint practice with the Texas after being limited earlier this week with hamstring tightness. Stafford also wearing a glove on his left hand. Cut it at home, but he says he's going to be just fine. Now, check out this video of the Oakland A's as they put their accuracy to the test ump beside their draft order for Fantasy Football.

Nothing like a.

Little closest to the pin challenge right from the upper deck. Mind you of the stadium reliever Scott Alexander grabbing the coveted first overall pick based off of Peter's top ten breakout players. Obviously Alexander happen to go with Jayden Daniels. But guys, I think we might need to do our own and just maybe head over to SOFI through a ball see what happens for our own draft order.

Don't go anywhere.

More GMFB is coming your way next.

Mont The moment of yesterday might not have been anything to do with what's happening on the field. It happened at Tennessee Titan's practice, where afterwards they got a special visitor no further ado, our man Jelly Roll.

I watched the Music City Vehracle from the juvenile right across the straight out the cell window. Never forget it.

I was cheering and nobody knew why.

I had the only sale that could see the Jumbo Trott and me and my sale made Josh Carton and we were talking about it then because I remember at the time he said, you think you'll ever go to a football game? I said, I think they just offered me forty years. I don't think I'll ever get to see one. God knows I did, though, because later I got to walk in there with my daughter for the first time, just like my father walked in that same stadium with me. And I don't have a bunch of inspiring I'm not a football guy. I don't know how to scream with y'all and make y'all fired up. But I can tell you that your purpose is so much bigger than on that field, That that is just a vessel, that God is using the big build your platform. That every little thing you're doing from the front row right here and will and the OJ's of this team all the way to the back and the new coaches. It's affecting this city, and a lot of people overlook this town because so many people come to this town to get famous that they forget that there's a lot of us that grew up in this town making sure that people could come to this town and get famous. A lot of this town was built off the backs of real, hard working people like myself. Now, luckily, I'm one of the people that turned around for me and it worked out. The short end of my story was I did everything I could to throw it away.

I tried as hard.

As I could, my life completely off, in and out of prison, been shot, stabbed. I could tell you a story that I'll make a tor tissue crack, but I'd rather tell you a story about how I fin to do a fifty six arena tour starting on Friday.

Man, I know most of y'all.

Don't know who I am, but I grew up here and I'm a tried and true Titan fan. I'm one of the guys that I believe in this organization. I believe in what Callahan's doing. I believe in the changes happening around this office. I'm standing behind ran I believe in the faces of this company.

And I'm also glad to see guys like Big.

Jeff Sentence and some of these oz showed the way too. Now I'm gonna tell y'all something about how much a Titan fan I am. Every arena in every city they give me a football jersey and I never wear I never wear them.

I'm not doing them. I'm tightened.

Guy. They're tried and true, and I love y'all man, And I also want to encourage y'all to reach out to the city. That Juvenile that's right there next to y'all stadium. We run a program D House been trying to come through forever. I would love to host a few of y'all to come and talk with the kids and spreadingly love man with me and a lot of the city personally.

Those kids need it.

Man.

The Tennessee Titan Stadium and the Juvenile have been connected the entire time the Titan Stadium has been here, and I don't want to be the first guy that actually brings them together with Coach Callahan's.

Health, if that's possible. But I love you.

If I know y'all been out there.

In that soun all day. I love y'all, thanks for listening.

Man, I'm coming to a game, and I hope one of y'all come to a show.

I love that his story is incredible. Jelly Roll, I talked about him yesterday. I think you're doing Super Bowl halftime fifty six arena tour getting started. But he visited the Titans, which you could hear he's a legit Titans fan. The best part of that video, if you can go find it, he brings up big Tovandre Sweat, who's been through some stuff himself, Texas rookie h had some issues off the field, brings him up, and the two of them did a duet together in front of the whole team.

Awesome moment.

Great job by the Titans, and great job by our guy, jelly Roll.

Yeah, the speech actually got me real teary eyed too just watching it and just seeing because you know his story. I thought it was a great job by Brian Callahan bringing him in because his story was a story of trans transformation, something that the Titans really need after a six and eleven season. So I think a lot of those guys have come from backgrounds where they understand redemption and transformation. That was pretty cool to see Jellyroll like that.

Anyone that's been to a Titans game knows what he's talking about, which is how the juvenile facility that he watched those games from sits right next to adjacent to the stadium, and the fact that no one has made that connection before the fact that if it's gonna be jelly Roll, it's fantastic.

That was great.

Let's have him on the show.
