Good Morning Football.
Hey, everybody, this is Good Morning Football.
We are as always presented by Old Trapper View Turkey. We're live in Los Angeles. That man waving at you is Man Titayo. This is Akbar bos Shabia Mila. There's Kyle Brandt out in New York City or back in New York City. I'm Jamie Erdall. You'll hear from Sherry Burris this hour. You'll hear from Ian Rappaport as well. Thursday Night Football kicked off Week two. It was an AFC Divisional matchup one to look forward to. It was a question that we asked about the Dolphins coming into this game, whether or not why the Bills always have their number, and would it continue It did last night, Kyle. But there's also some stuff we have to talk about after the fact.
Yeah, let's get into is the lead block. This always runs contrary to what we like to do on the show. Football should be fun, especially on a Friday morning, and sometimes we have to talk about things that are not fun. Bills won the game. They're two and all. They won by three touchdowns. But the entire football world is looking at the QB one for the Miami Dolphins, and after the game, then after the loss, his coach talked about it.
Yeah, I taught to him in the locker room.
Obviously I taught to him on the field.
We'll get more information tomorrow and then take it day by day from there.
As they should, considering the injury history that Tuatunga Vailoa has, specifically with concussions. As we welcome Ian Rapaport back to the show, Mike McDaniel hit all the right notes there, Ian, from how is my guy? I care about my teammate and my player, but also where do we go from here with the quarterback?
Two parts of that gut wrenching scene there we saw and watch any game, a National TV game or you know, a game on an afternoon on Sunday, that is the last thing you want to see, especially considering the injury.
History for Tua Tagovloa.
He goes down immediately in the fencing posture indicative of a concussion. You watch enough football, watch enough sports, you do imedially what it was certainly something that had all of our attention in not a very good way. So There's two sides of this. There's the football side, and we'll.
Start with that.
The football side is Tua Tagovlola does have a concussion. Every concussion is different in the way a player responds to every concussion is different as well. He's gonna see doctors he has in the past to deal with concussions, seen concussion experts. It will not be surprised if he sees one. Whenever he is cleared and ready. At that point, there will be decisions by the MAAMI, dopphins and doctors. Wouldn't be surprised if it's multi games, just considering his history. But the reality is, because it's a concussion, we simply do not know.
Then there is the personal.
Side of it to a Tugol who's signed a massive fifty plus million dollar contract extension this passed offseason has dealt with concussions to the pass. Number twenty twenty two had a hard hit to the head than four days later carted off with a concussion on national TV. The NFL and the NFLPA ended up altering the concussion protocol to make it safer. Following that's situation, he discussed potentially his thoughts on retiring, ended up training that offseason, coming back, helping himself avoid similar injuries, ended up having his best year last year. Now fast forward a couple games into twenty twenty four, the same unfortunate situation for Tua.
Tagoballow Ian thank you.
What you can't avoid, though, is that Tua is one of the most competitive people playing a highly competitive position. He's just trying to gain a first down a play like that, and it's a split second decision. We started our show talking about Tua. Man Tiiteo knows him so well. He's spoken to his family. If you want to take a look back, it was at the start of our first hour on GMFB. But looking outside of beyond what happened in the third quarter. Coming into this game, as we mentioned, the Bills had the Dolphins number on Thursday night football on Sundays didn't matter. It's been a history of dominance for Buffalo akbar over Miami.
Yeah, it's just the physical nature of this game. And it was in the offense, it was on defense, special teams. The Bills just dominated every single which way you looked, and you particularly saw that even in the way they took away the threat of a big time Tyreek Hill. I mean, you saw them go up in too high, take away a lot of those vertical routes from Tyreek, and I thought that we were going to see a bomb away from Tyreek use the.
Speed blowed away.
It was just physical and I think everything kind of sets the tempo from the trenches. And I look at the trenches and how they outphysical them on the defensive line and on the offensive line both ways. You just saw them get I want you to take a look at this right here, because even as they were running the ball here I mean, or getting after the quarterback, you saw them just putting pressure onto it, not giving them the opportunity.
There was a time that you saw Ed Oliver.
Really applied so much pressure to us throwing interceptions. It is very hard when you get out physical. You can scheme and you can throw the playbook out out there on the field, but if you don't start off with the fundamentals of physical and it just looked like from the very beginning, it didn't look like the Dolphins even had a chance in this game.
Yeah, I'm glad you That up bar reminded me a lot about that Monday night football game with the Jets rest of the Niners and just the dominance that one team showed against the other team. I'll say this, Josh Allen is that guy. I know Kyle's a big fan of Josh. He's that dude. And for me, it reminds me a lot of the Patrick Mahomes situation when he lost Tyreek Hill and everybody was like, oh, okay, they're not going to be good. He just lost his main weapon. Well, Josh Allen lost everybody. He lost Stefon Diggs, lost lost Gabe Davis. And he comes back and he puts on that performance two weeks in a row. Josh Allen just said last week, I'm going to score two touchdowns with my feet and I'm going to score two touchdowns through the air. And he goes in Miami and does what he does. My flowers to you, Josh Allen, I respect your game. Second thing is shout out to Sean McDermott and the coaching, specifically the coordinators. Bobby Babbage, Bob Babbage Senior. His dad was my linebacker coach in San Diego. And let me tell you about Bob Babbitt Senior. This guy we watched film a walk through. He critiqued walk through. He would tell me, man to I don't like your need bend on this. I don't like how you broke on this on this pass. And I remember looking at Coach Babbage like coaches a walkthrough, like what are we doing? But knowing the attention to detail that senior had, it's no secret to me why that Bill's defense played with that detail, played with that tenacity, played in assignment sound football like how they did last night. And secondly, Joe Brady. I was in New Orleans while Joe Brady was in New Orleans. This guy understands football at a level that the elite coordinators understand football. The game plan that he had. I remember the first touchdown that they had to Cook. We talked about it earlier.
In the JBD segment.
The motion it allows Josh Allen back there to see what coverage they're in. He knew that they're in man coverage at that time based on how they're reacting to motions. He put Cook out there in the flat room the ball touchdown, and people are like.
Oh, that's so easy.
Well, it had a lot to do with the coordinator and all the motioning that he's doing to allow Josh to have that success. Guess where Joe Brady was at in twenty nineteen and twenty twenty. He was with LSU. He was a passing game coordinator for LSU and Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and all.
Of those guys that we got to see.
As you know, everybody argues as one of the best teams to ever be put together in college football, Joe Brady was that passing game coordinator. So hats off to them, Hats off to the Buffalo Bills.
What a great game.
I look forward to seeing this season playoff for the Buffalo Bills.
Yeah, I mean, listen, I'm with Mantai and I don't know if I'm having Internet issues or something, but I can't find how many catches the Digs have last night? How many catches did Gave Davis have last night?
Zero and zero?
How many tackles did Jordan Poyer have last night? He had four for a team that lost by three touchdowns at home. Guys, the Bills are gonna be fine because all I heard is they don't have dogs anymore, they don't have enough weapons, they don't need a weapon. They have the player of mass destruction. He can get along with anything, don't you guys know this. It's like looking at a Ferrari and begrudging it for losing. Well, they don't have the leather interior and they don't have the serious satellite radio subscription. It's still this Ferrari. It still drives. It's not about the interior and the satellite radio.
That's a Ferrari.
You can play with some people out of the stands and still beat the Dolphins. It's what he does. It's why is everybody surprised by this? This was gonna be the year the Bills come back down to earth. Oh I love the Jets and the Dolphins ear to take over. Listen, taking nothing away from the terrible thing that happened at the end of the game for Dolphins, completely compartmentalizing this. This was a complete whooping from start to finish. We spent all day yesterday saying the Dolphins have a Bills problem, and I openly encouraged them to do something about it, and said I would applaud if they didn't if they did.
They didn't do anything. There was nothing, guys.
This was a no show at home field. And I don't even want to beat up on the Dolphins. I want to lift up the Buffalo Bills. People want them to go away. They're tired. They're tired. They want the new thing. They're always looking the Rogers Jets. Things would be cool. The Dolphins are ascending. No, no, they're not. It's the Bill, it's the Ferrari guys. It's all I can say is that you're not getting a new thing. If you want a new thing, look in a different division, because this one's taken.
And the engine in that Ferrari is Josh Allen.
I mean you talked about not having Gabe and not having Stefan Diggs. I'm looking at the stat sheets here, which is kind of a good indication of just how good he is and how he's able.
To distribute it around.
You heard during the telecast where you're talking about he doesn't have the pressure of having to feed one guy. Somebody's open. Take what the defense gives you, dunk it off to your guy, and you can see he's just evenly distributing it at will across the field.
Well, and if the stress came in this offseason for all of the stars that walked out offensively and they aren't available to him anymore, it was only exacerbated last week.
In a Week one when the Cardinals.
Effectively looked like he could have beaten the Buffalo Bills at home. Josh Allen was in the helicopter into the end zone and everyone was saying, he's going to have to do too much this season. He can't sustain this, This isn't possible. He comes in on a short week and in the era of take what's given to you, he said, all right, I have him cook. I got James book On out of that field, handoff, handoff. And the fact that Josh Allen on a Thursday football game only had two carries good for two yards. I would think Bill's fans would be pretty happy about that, that he didn't have to put himself on the line.
I saw a clip from Ed Reid this past week when he was talking about Patrick Mahomes and he has a weakness. Why because you know where his targets are and a player like Ed Reid, he was, I'll use that to my advantage to take away your targets. To your point off part, he doesn't. Josh Allen doesn't have a target. Everybody's a target. It seems like the touchdown is his target. That's the only target that he has, and he had a lot of those last night. And so sometimes from a defensive standpoint, when they're going against a quarterback where you don't know where he's going, you don't know where his go to guy is, you have to play all four or five, whoever the receivers are.
You got to play them all the same.
No tendency, there's no tendency.
I can't just say, hey, let's take away this guy on third down and six because he likes to go to him. Well, you got Khalis Shakuro over there catching like seven eight seven eight passages.
You got Cook coming out the back.
I wonder what the scouting report is going to look like when they get that fat book coming next week and they go like, what's the scouting front?
These passing scout get pressure, wele how.
Dare people have bills fatigue? When elsewhere in the AFC you got to deal with the Chiefs. Hello, the Bengals and the Chiefs they've got history. The Bengals at this point the only one who have taken down the homes in the postseason in this current era. Some Bengals players had some things to say, we're going to get into it. There's some beef jerkeys that commentary coming up.
Oh I love it.
I hope it's tender as Old Trapper, but I already know it's not. Plus I'm on rock underwhelming. He just didn't see the ball a lot, even for the overtime win. Fine, that's all right. Was it just a case of dusting off some rust?
Who's the fantasy player that made you say?
Like, what the heck man?
I drafted you high?
Week one?
We got answers for you.
Adam Rank coming up. He is the.
Emperor of fantasy. He is all knowing.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Fantasy talk right after this, it's week two.
Good Morne football, all right.
The Bengals are trying to clean up their edges after losing to the Patriots last weekend.
Jamar Chase, though, said the Bengals are.
Still the best team in the AFC, hopefully so because they play the Chiefs on Sunday and their cornerback Cam Taylor. Britt decided to give a not so blowing scouting report of the Chiefs rookie standout Xavier Worthy.
What did day Care Worthy great to Kasey offense?
Be prepared for That's about it.
He can run straight, run sweeps, and just run straight. We can't do too much else, So that's about it.
I feel like you put.
Your hands on him. He's only one hundred. Sometimes you put hands on you gonna stop the speed.
Okay, So all Zavier Worthy can do is run straight and run really fast.
And if you're asking Cam Taylor Britt, that's about it. That's all he can do.
Are the Bengals giving the Chiefs offensive bulletin board material?
And is this a good move off bar?
Yes, it's bulletin board material. But look, if you're a professional football player, you don't need external motivation. But this is a very interesting one to pick on. You don't go picking on the biggest dude in the yard. You don't go picking on the fastest dude.
In the yard.
Xavier Worthy is extremely fast. I want to show you how fast he is. I'm gonna go over here real quick. I gotta share run. So you guys remember that end a round, right, that sweet play where Worthy is running through and he's talking about, well, if you're small, you're fast. You know you only weigh so much. I want you to remember this play. He comes in and here on this around. Look at this we got one, two, three, four, five, six guys I'm counting, I believe here that could not touch him. The Great Muhammad Ali once said, you can't hit what you can't see. He's moving so fast. Look at how many guys are coming to look got it in over here. Both nobody touched nobody to this one just barely grazed him. Six guys he runs, Mind, that is extremely fast. When you can run through six NFL guys who can run four fours, four to fives and you can't touch him, I don't care if he weighs ninety pounds like that is somebody you have to pay attention to save. You're worthy might run a four to one on this guy just because he's popping.
You know.
And to Cam Taylor's defense, he is telling truth in a way. Okay, hear me out. We talked to yesterday. We talked yesterday about the most dynamic runner that BoNT Adams said is Lamar.
You know why Lamar is so.
Hard as a ballcarrier to tackle this because not only as he's fast, but he's shifty. You see in NFL game everybody's fast. Now you have a worthy kind of fast, that's that's different. However, if you don't have the jukes, there's a there's an angle that I can take on you where I'll get you. That guy that you said that just barely grais him, that's a linebacker. So he took an angle that allowed him to graze a worthy as he's running greats, right, But it's a linebacker that probably runs a four or whatever to a guy that runs a four to two one.
Just watch this.
Linebacker like you see that to what I'm talking about. With an angle with a shifty guy, there is no angle where.
You'll be correct.
That's what makes Tyreek Hill so dangerous. It's not only is Tyreek Hill blindly like blindly fast, but this guy will shake you out your boots.
And that's the guy.
From a defense defender standpoint, I'd rather go against a shifty guy than the fast guy because a shifty guy, again, there's no angle that I can take on you. The fast guy, I can take an angle wer eventually I'll catch you. I kind of make that comparison between Lamar Jackson and the Colin Kaepernick. Both very dangerous, but I'd rather go against a call in not saying that he's not dangerous than a Lamar Jackson.
I think it comes down to a preference.
Think right, it's a preference things as far as what your strength and what your weakness is. I mean, there's good and bad on both sides of them. Yeah, you can say that you can try to angle them, but that is extremely hard when you try to angle somebody, take an angle on somebody who's moving that fast. So I think the way he was kind of presenting it was presenting it in a way.
With the delivery delivery like hold on.
You can't just ignore exavier worthy speed. It is crucial.
That's why took That's why they moved up to get them.
Oh yeah they did. And I love that Cam Taylor brid has a take about them. I enjoy this. I enjoy this kind of rhetoric and sound biting.
I know in this era.
We're supposed to all clutch our pearls and faint anytime anybody says something remotely disrespectful on another team. It used to be this way, and I like it this way. I don't even like bulletin board mitto. Are there even bulletin boards anymore? Do people even still use those things. Isn't it all digital? At this point? In so old fashioned? And the reason I like it is because the Chiefs have credibility, but the Bengals do too. The Bengals can talk a little about the Chiefs if they want. They don't like the Chiefs. They're not trying to hide it. I saw Jamar Chase in the top NFL one hundred. He doesn't even want to say Mahomes's name. I don't think that stick. I don't think it's an act. And the Bengals can talk a little bit about it. They have beaten the Chiefs. They've beaten the Chiefs in games that matter. They they've done it. They've beaten the Chiefs in Arrowhead. It's not somebodybody else who's just yapping at them trying to knock them off the throne. This is a team that has knocked them off the throne. They don't like them. So when they come in and they get all these questions about some skinny, little fast rookie Cam Taylor, BRIT's like, so what, We're gonna knock him on his butt and I hope I do it.
Myself on the first play.
That's cool, guys, that's football. That's honest, that's competition. He didn't give some blase cliche SoundBite. He doesn't like this rookie. He wants to knock him down, and we're gonna find out about the Chiefs not level of excellence, which we already know. We'll find out about the chief's level of petty in this game. Because if you're Mahomes or read or anybody up there, you see this, you already know you don't like the Bengals.
Let's trust something up for the rook again.
Maybe we give him the ball when we're up already twenty, and we go down the sideline for it, and we'll see how it's skinny and how useless he is outside of speed. But the last note is also like the Bengals were really bad Week one, really flat, had no fire, had no edge whatsoever. I think they need some of this. I think that they need this matchup. But I also think they need this sound bite from a guy who's been there, who's a mad guy, to say no, like I'm gonna fire up this locker room. We're not gonna get run through by some rookie just because he runs a fast time.
I enjoy this.
I wish there was more of this, and I want to watch the game even more.
Kyle, It's great.
I mean Jamar Chase, it's fantastic off season fodder when the star wide receiver for the Bengals won't say an opposing quarterbacks name. Are we gonna hear your name, Jamar Chase on Sunday? Are we gonna hear Joe Burrow's name? Because you two did not have this connection. You haven't practiced together all off season. All we're talking about is the fact that Jamar Chase is in street close during practice. So there's that side of it, which is like, that's fine, you can do this about a rookie. He's just a rookie. Don't talk about him like that. But on the flip side, I actually appreciate this from Cam Taylor Britt because, like when you have a huge win and the coach says, we'll celebrate this for twenty four hours and then we got to move on. If you have a really bad beat, which the Bengals did against the Patriots last weekend, you also have to be able to move on. I would be more concerned for the Bengals if the players are standing up in the locker room and saying, we're still really rattled by what happened to us last week and I don't want to talk about it next opponent with go no. They put that in their rear view. They said that was last week's team, this is this week's team. And frankly, as football fans, I'm hoping for something different for the Bengals to come out against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Yeah.
I mean they did lose against the Patriots that nobody had a.
Lot of faith in.
Yes, so coming out like Cam cam Britt like coming out talking like that, that's, uh, we'll see, you know. I just I had to tell this because I mentioned Muhammad Ali. Have you ever seen Muhammad Ali the Muhammad a Li fight where he's dodging twenty one punches. Yeah, from I guess from Michael, that's gonna be that's gonna be, sa if you're worthy.
When he's running.
Again, he's gonna be sitting like this and I hope he gets in front of.
Does that.
It's amazing.
Sure, Bible.
Guys, that's what happened last week. We have to pick one team that we think is going to win. It's an eliminator pool. You might have seen these. Before I picked Chicago, they were down seventeen to nothing in one ok Bar picked Tampa Bay.
They destroyed the Commanders.
Jamie picks Seattle and they got that win over Denver.
But on the far right is the operative subject here.
Peter Schrager picked Cincinnati over New England, Cincinnattie at home over the Patriots, and guess what they lost. And Peter, as I said last week, he's not here today, is doing some great R and R. I'm sure that he's earned. Peter's very good at a lot of different things in the media and knows a lot about football. He's like, really really good at a lot of stuff. He sucks at this game. And I told him that to his face. He's always terrible. He was terrible this year, he will be terrible next year. And sure enough, for the last couple of years he's been terrible. This is almost impossible to do, but let's take a look back at the terrible, terrible Peter Schrager.
This is survival.
Plase, gentlemen, I'll take the San Francisco forty nine ers in.
Chicago belly like little kids on the playground.
Two rules.
I never pick games where the team is a road teams. Taking a team that's going on the road, and I never pick young quarterbacks.
I'm taking a quarterback I don't even know can throw football.
I deserve this.
This is survival.
I am taking the Minnesota Vikings beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as my Week one survival.
Y do it.
The Buccaneers beat the Vikings twenty to seventeen. Welcome to twenty twenty three.
Peter Schrager e the second straight season eliminated in the first week.
It's allry fans in the Vikings.
You know, Peter is really good at picking the Super Bowl winner.
Just ask him.
But he is awful at this, and if he's not careful, he's going to be become renowned for this, more so than the Super Bowls. In fact, we have another soot that's a sound on tape.
Here's Peter's pick.
After all that terrible picks he made those last few years, surely, surely this year he would come correct.
Right my first pick, I'm now ote for two.
I sorry Bengals fans for this.
I am taking Joe Burrow, healthy and blonde, ambition, the whole thing, Bengals over Patriots as my survivor.
Pick for Week one, first out of the gates.
Can you imagine doing that three years in a row? And Peter got the first choice of any team he wanted, and honestly, that was a good pick Bengals at home against.
We all would have done that. But he did it, and he got it wrong.
And since he's not here today, we have reached Peter in parts unknown. He sent us some commentary on having this happened to him again. I haven't seen it, but I hope he's somewhere wearing a shirt and a pool. Peter, what did you think about you doing this again?
All right, so I lost another one of these survivor pools on the show. You think I'm crying about it? No, no, I'm not. In fact, when the Bengal is inexplicably lost at home to the Patriots, who are ranking thirty second on the NFL dot Com Power rankings, I didn't even think twice.
In fact, I liked it. I relished it.
I cherished it.
I want to wish all of my opponents, slash colleague, slash host mouk moving forward and having to deal with that craft the rest of the season. I'm free, I'm literatd walko on the street to New York.
I'm enjoying life.
I don't have the burden of this survivor pool anymore, so enjoy I'm gonna.
Go have a drink.
Must be nice, Peter, Well, we will extinguish the flames. I believe we can see them. There we go. Peter's flame is out, but he doesn't understand it. It's not about that he lost the survivor pools that he lost in week one three years in a row. It's like getting the first question wrong and who wants to be a millionaire? And the question is what shape has four sides? Octagon, triangles, circle or square?
Peter gets that one wrong. He's out, get out of here.
It's me Ochbar Jamie, and then our friend Manta is gonna help us out. Listen, here's how this works. You understand. You pick one game this weekend, and just one winner. There's no point spread, there's no anything, and if that team wins, you advanced by thirty by one point, it doesn't matter. And you cannot pick any team that you've already picked, which we will notate for you based on you already saw.
I picked the Bears last week.
Guys are you ready at the table, because I'm about to give our selection about who goes first, and who goes second, who goes third. I have names right here on cards. Okay, this Jamie, Kyle, Akbar. I'm gonna put them down, face down. I have no idea what the order.
Is because yeah, yeah, yeah, there we go.
Okay.
The first pick of Survivor Week two is sometimes it just works out that way, folks.
Oh darn.
Right, I know one in three chants. Okay, my first my pick for.
Week two is I'm pulling up the schedule this. I'm not going to think very long about this one. I got Baltimore at home against the Raiders, and you give me, give me the Ravens. Come on, it's a on one team. Isaiah likelyse toes a little smaller. They're want to know they're playing the rate. You don't know why.
I think this is the pick of week two.
And I heard some grunts from the gallery there, so I'm sure they agree with me. All right, So we got to figure out who's next. Okay, I'm gonna hold up either Jamie or Akbar, and then you'll know who the second pick is, and then who the last pick. The second pick who cannot pick the Ravens of Week two Survival is Okay, Jamie, it's not you, Okay, bar take it away?
All right.
So I'm looking through here and I don't want to take this team now because they're still getting better and better. I'm gonna go with the it's a road game. I'm going with the Texans. Look look at it, see king Over show the whole game. I'm going with the Texans. Caleb is gonna be on his very first road game, prime time, the lights, all this other stuff. I just don't think that the Bears step up to the to the to the challenge. I think the Texans win this one.
I try to intimidate you into that pick. That's a really good pick. I feel like i'm bury more right now. Tell me the answer to your question.
I got the Texans. Put me up on that one.
Okay, Mantis. Here is emotional support.
Jimmy take the Ravens. Has anybody taken the Ravens?
Take Baltimore? Take Baltimore.
They're home against the River.
Kyle, you're trying to make it the history there is.
I take things that I've already been taking because I get stressed.
In these segments this schedule.
By the way, as I look at my crumpled paper, there are at least a half a dozen games on this that I don't want to touch with a ten foot pole.
Can I tell you some of them?
Because we oftentimes say, like, oh, this would be a layup, but the Rams have a ton of injuries and they're on the road. I don't want to touch the Steelers' Broncos. Absolutely not Bengals. Chief sounds like a nightmare step into my office.
What do you think I can start here?
Texans?
I'm gonna go full Tom Cruise in this segment. I'm not taking the Texans. I'm not taking to the Ravens, Kyle. What I am going to go with my circle? I really really thought about the forty nine Ers, but they're on the road, so I won't do that.
But I am going to go with another road team.
You talked about the Patriots, Kyle, last segment being the thirty second on the thirty two teams and the rankings. Unfortunately, I think the Panthers have taken.
That spot now.
So I'm going with the Chargers traveling cross country to Carolina, and I think they will beat the Carolina Panthers.
I go with the La Chargers.
You know what, I like that one that was That was actually my backup post.
Oh good, thank you?
That was my backup up. Yeah yeah, all right, good?
Because Kyle, would you agree, first of all, two things, Kyle, would you agree that a lot of these games they don't have good feels to them?
Secondly, how much would you love and.
TV talk the fact that you explicitly asked Peter Schrager for a video sent in the horizontal and he explicitly sent one back.
In the vertical.
You know why because p Shraggs is all wired for the gram now Instagram. You shoot vertically to make a real Peter. Come on, you're an old school TV guy. We got to pipe in these videos of Joe Burrow and some guy who's back of his head I can't even see because you won't do horizontal. Come on, Peter, my god, and put some gel in that here? What is that blow dry thing you had?
All right?
That's you went with a different type of Survivor strategy, which is I don't like any of these, so I'm just gonna look for the Panthers logo and like whoever they're playing, I.
Will get it.
So there's the Picks Ravens, Texans Chargers on the road.
What do you think, o bar Yeah, I was gonna say Chargers typically have struggled on the road, so that is a dangerous one though.
Terrible pick Jamie.
Yeah, Kyle say, I generally struggle in moments like this where I have to go last. Kyle did this on purpose because he wanted to show this graphic next week that we're about to see of Peter's face falling off of the survival segment and he wants to see my face do it next weekend, because man.
That is you and me next week, buddy.
All right, Peter just disintegrates on the morning.
I can't wait. Who do you think is going to win?
Menta good football?
Happy Friday, everybody.
I am Sheery Burist.
Now.
When the schedule was released, we hope to get a Russell Wilson showdown with his former team against the Broncos this week.
Looks like that.
Lingering calf injury is going to keep this from happening. But Wilson's saying Thursday he's getting closer and closer to returning, but trying to be smart about this injury.
Justin Field led Pittsburgh to a Week.
One win over the Falcons and Brown's defensive end Miles Garrett showing up on the injury report after missing practice Thursday with a foot injury. But according to NFL Network insider even Rapaport, it's not considered serious the Browns. They take on the Jaguars on Sunday, and Jamar Chase in the Bengals traveling to Kansas City on Sunday to take on the Chiefs sincey coming off a disappointing loss to the Patriots last Sunday. But despite that, Chase says, there's still the top dogs in the AFC.
Listen to this, Yeah, everybody knows that. Bro's not no.
If you know what I'm saying.
We are the teaming to be an AFC and we know it, and we got to act like it and we gotta play like it too.
Ah, that's more bulletin board material as you were just talking about against the Chiefs. Come on, Bengals, I think the two time defending Super Bowl champions, you might have something to say about that, or Jamie, as we just saw in the Survivor pool. Maybe with Peter's fault after all, in Week.
One blame Peter Schrager.
Peter Schreger, the ultimate billboard material, delivery man. Speaking of delivery man, time for Fantasy Advice presented by FedEx.
Hey, that nicely done. Here.
Figger's not here to defend himself and defend them the fact that he took the angles to win.
They did not.
They lost to the Patriots. But Adam Rank, you're here. You always show up. You speak to the fact that sometimes you make fantasy picks and then whether or not they do well, you you answer to it.
It's not my fault, is not your fault.
It's not my fault, it's their fault.
Always blame the player, Adam Rank up, fantasy.
Players, give me the headset. Okay, I'll change this right now.
All right. Speaking of Adam Rank.
Great to have you back at the break Gay, good person.
We love this.
Who's one player that you think is the chosen one that can bounce back after a week one letdown?
Well, I want to talk about a mon Ross Saint Brown, because I know it was disappointing for a lot of people who drafted him in the first round, possibly myself included. Is that who I was supposed to go with. I'm going off my own rundown. I'm sorry if I've blown that or anything. Oh, I'll do whatever. Listen, this is I'm running the show. This is how I do it on Fantasy Live. Because they'll slap that b roll on me and I'm like, no, no, no, I don't need b roll because they need to look in my eyes, they need to look at my face. It is a mon Ross Saint Brown. That's who we need this week. Last week it was kind of a disappointment. I think they were going with Jamo and he really spread the defense and everything.
But here's the thing.
This week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers love the blitz, and what Jared Goff does so well is get the ball out of his hands when he's being blitzed.
It's so weird sitting.
Here trying to talk football to Manta Tae. Yeah, let me tell you, Mantai about some football.
Let me tell you about the blitz.
They blitz a lot in Tampa Bay and so that means shared Gosk got to get rid of the ball.
So I expect a bevy bevy, a bevy.
Of targets to h a Monro Saint Brown and with Jamo spreading the defense to that helps Adam.
Let's look at the Falcons.
This one was Chris, we have all this potential and it's cousins had no attention to the men behind the curtain.
Ohs ever powerful. What's funny is that.
Cousins in London and Bijon they really underwhelm and yet meanwhile the guy who always underwhelms, Kyle Pitts, had a touchdown, So they're just laughing at us. What do you think about the Falcons because a lot of people drafted a lot of Falcons.
Oh, I have a lot of Falcons. I had Kyle Pitts in a number of spots and even with a touchdown, it wasn't the most epic performance. But I'm looking for a bounce back this week for the Atlanta Falcons.
I had a lot of trust in Kirk Cousins.
I thought he was going to come in and play really well with this team.
Chris, or excuse me, Drake London.
I thought could have that kind of role similar to that I don't want to say like justin Jefferson, but like have that kind of target potential to go out there and really have some huge performance. Is now he's going against the Philadelphia Eagles. I don't know if he saw it. They played a game on Friday night last week. It was late and Jayden Reid was running all over the place and those those Packers receivers were getting wide open. So I'm hoping that the Falcons will be able to replicate.
Some of that production.
Is there another receiver in the NFC South that you think might maybe bounce back in we two?
Let's talk about Chris Olave. Let me tell you something about football.
Here, ackbart now here.
I think last week they were throwing the ball all over the place and my guy, Rashid Shahed caught.
A touchdown, loved it.
All the Rando tight ends who are not Taysom Hill were catching touchdowns for the Saints. You know who wasn't catching the ball Chris Alave. And Chris Alave was out there doing work. Like if you watched the I don't want to be there, it's the tape, but if you do Chris.
Alave, it was huge.
Actually digitalt know.
It really is. But he was so good in the run game.
And I think when you have a player like that who does the little things, his quarterback will end up rewarding him. Derek Carr even mentioned him in the postgame press conference. So I expect them to look at Chris a Lave a lot more this week against the Dallas Covery's not an easy matchup, but I think Kris the Lave is up for the challenge.
And we're talking about receivers, talking about Crystal Lave. What running backs? It was a tough week for running backs. What running backs do you see after rough Week one is going to have a bounce back in Week two?
All Right, you're gonna make me talk about this. Zamir White. I missed on Zamir White. Now everybody, everybody's coming out of the woodwork and they're like, oh, Zamir White, listen. If you weren't in on Zamir White when the season started, I don't want to hear from you.
It's like if you don't like.
Star Wars, I don't want to hear your take on the Acolyte.
You have no business talking about this. I am sitting here and.
I am going back in on Zamir White because I'm an idiot, and I'm not going to have changed my pre draft analysis because of one bad week. It's a weird Week one is always weird, Like there's always strange things that go on. So what I'm looking at is that he ran the ball like seventy two percent of the time for the Raiders. They're going to try to establish a run against the Ravens. I'm not saying it's gonna be easy, but you know what, Manti Tayo, Football is not easy. Okay, you got to go out there, and you got to go out with your guys, so you gotta you gotta go with your squad.
And not and not like back away.
I'm not gonna don't get into this game of being like, oh, I'm gonna go to Alexander Manison.
Now it's like, no, no, no, we're not doing.
Stick with your guys, stay, stay at least for two weeks before you bail.
Doesn't else.
He's fine, he's a he's a good role player, and they were in a lot of situations where they wanted to throw the football and I think they felt more comfortable in that week. But now that we're into the second week, here's an opportunity for Zimir White to go back and be the guy that he.
Was at the end of last year.
The irony of Adam Rank saying, don't roll the b roll.
Look me right in the eye as I give you the feedback. Yet he won't look Mantitao in the eye as he gives his football takes. It's a beautiful take, im.
Look at the look at the guns that are on the.
Stat file back there.
They say the camera adds ten pounds, but there's like thirty cameras on his arms.
I don't like this.
I'm sitting out here.
Lift he lifts.
I lift a seven iron. That's all I care.
Good.
We love you Rank, all right.
So the Jaguars are trying to turn things around after dropping their Week one game against the Dolphins last week, and their home opener comes this weekend against the Cleveland Browns. Well, normally it's EverBank Stadium. Now it's Trevor Bank Stadium.
Okay, they flipped the script.
They're trying to change the name to Trevor Bank Stadium. It's temporarily renamed after their quarterback as a part of his co lab with the stadium's naming rights. Trevor Bank Stadium, Kyle, Kyle.
Your thoughts.
I like to just have a happy weekend. Whoever the man or woman was at EverBank who came up with this in the creative meeting. They had great idea. You absolutely stuck the landing. Take the rest of the day off. That's why we hire you, Jean or Patty or whatever your name was.
You nailed it. I just want to know how much they go, how much they.
Paint these what's that co lab cost?
That's pretty dope, I mean, especially if he's money for him. Oh see what I did there?
I did.
They were probably hoping he was more money last weekend against the Dolphins and they're gonna be a little bit more raw raw feeling coming into Trevor Bank Stadium.
But Ny, that did not happen.
Talk about expectations, huh coming to my house like, oh boy, I don't want that, you know what I mean?
Bet it deliver. You better be money right.
The bank is open.
No, that's old school NBA. That was a GMFB on a Friday. Guys, everybody's Friday Week two opened up last night. But we have Sunday games all the way to Sunday Night Football.
Have fun watching the Bears and the Texans. Hello, young Cut, Yes,
