Good Morning Football.

That's right, DMFB. Everybody, welcome inside. We're live in LA and New York today. It's Friday, March fourteens. Jamie Artle as always, Peter Shrek or Kyle Bryant. What's happening in New York? We got fullback Jason Cabinda at the table again. Still hasn't blinked since we did the show yesterday. You know him, you love him. And defensive lineman recently retired Isaac Rochelle at the table today.

Welcome back.

I love it. Excited to be here.

Good We're so glad you got your notebook. You are all ready to rock and roll. You had some takes yesterday that you couldn't even keep within yourself in the commercial break, so we opened the topics up today. Guys New York, are you ready for the final Jason Cabinda, Isaac Rochelle experience today?

Peter, how are you doing these days?

Let's go. I'm doing great.

And we got a little drama overnight and it came in the farm of social media.

Let's get the Dallas some action.

Yes, finally, some action, not the kind we thought it was going to be.

A free agency DeMarcus Lawrence recently departed from the Dallas Cowboys. Spent his first eleven seasons in the league playing for the America's team, the organization in Dallas, So he is now a member of the Seahawks after signing a three year deal this week. Lawrence then telling yesterday the at Hawk blogger why he left Dallas, and it rubbed some people the wrong way.

You know, Dallas is my home. I made my home there. You know, my family lives there. You know I'm forever going to be there. But I know for sure I'm not going to win a Super Bowl there. So yeah, that guy.

Was like, I'm not sure what to do with that. I was definitely not gonna win a super Bowl there, says DeMarcus Lawrence. Well, Michael Parsons took issue with this because he claims what rejection an envy looks like this? Some clown clown emoji. Okay, So then the two exchanged a couple of exes back and forth, and Marcus Lawrence capped it with this, calling me a clown won't change the fact that I told the truth. Maybe if you've spent less time tweeting and more time winning.

I would not have left.

Devil purple face emoji. Everyone's angry, Peter, Everyone's feeling things, whether you're in Dallas or not.

Let's dig into this situation.

Peter, set the table and then just your your thoughts behind this interaction.

Well, look, there's nothing quite like on the way out, just leaving something for everyone else to deal with.

That's what DeMarcus Lawrence did.

He's like, it's been eleven years here, I'm going to raise a family, I'm going to make this my home. But on the way out, throw that out there that we were not winning a Super Bowl. I do wonder if this unmasks some of the stuff that was boiling under that locker room the last.

Couple of years.

You know, Mike McCarthy had the weirdest situation ever where his contract just kind of ran out and then he didn't get another job and instead of just you know, negotiating for whatever was, he's out of coaching right now, and it's it's beyond belief that he was at the Combine talk.

We're talking about how he's working with.

Quinn as a quarterbacks coach, Like that's what he's doing right now.

And you look back at Doubt. They're quiet and free agency.

They haven't taken care of Parsons, and you know, Dak goes to the Bahamas and gets a fly Eagles fly chain. For the first time since I've been on this show in eight years, it's starting to feel like the Cowboys are not.

Only a little bit of like a.

Unraveling a bit, but also like kind of a joke right now. And that has to affect Jerry Jones. That has to affect Ery Jones that every morning we're start off, what are the Cowboys doing?

Hah or passively aggressive? What does that mean? We don't know, you're actually not involved. And now you've got.

This former player on the way out who was a really esteemed.

And well established cowboy throwing a carpet bomb on the way out.

Michael Parsons takes the shrapnel of this, and he's going to try to defend his guys. But then Lawrence gets the last word and is like, you're busy tweeting and podcasting, which if you're a Cowboys fan, you see that and.

You're like that that's kind of what my thoughts were.

But I haven't been able to say it because I'm just Oh, here's a player and the teammate, a defensive leader saying it. Look, I didn't play the game, you guys did. I know there's all sorts of dynamics in a locker room, but I will say this everyone around the league and everybody on TV right now, it's kind of snickering at the Cowboys. I have to imagine this is embarrassing for the folks who run the organization.

I hear you, Peter, and I think the reason you might say that is that this is a important, powerful headline, and it is because I could say the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl or aren't going to win a Super Bowl. Anybody with a podcast can say that. An insider kids say that. It's that it comes from a guy who was born and bred as a cowboy, and to your point, not just someone who had a cup of coffee and was there for one camp. To Marcus Lawrence is a very important cowboy, a landmark cowboy of really the twenty first century, who's been there eleven years and has worn a Cowboys helmet in several Pro Bowls.

And his reaction is not thanks for the memories.

I'll always it's they're never going to win a super That's not me saying it. We don't get this from a guy who was a cowboy and will be probably remembered for life. I'm not saying DeMarcus Lawrence is saying, in effect, the new coach is underwhelming, free agency is underwhelming, Michah Parsons is maybe underwhelming and has certainly mismanaged.

I'm not saying it.

DeMarcus Lawrence is saying that the Eagles over the last several years have more Super Bowl appearances than you have playoff wins. DeMarcus Lawrence is saying the Commanders were just in a title game and you haven't been to the one since five years before Jane Daniels was born.

He's saying, you're not going to win it.

And better believe anyone who might have a perception that Michaeh Parsons does too much media, which I do not. He's saying, you go tweet and pod and do all that stuff, and by the way, your production really hasn't been what it's been, so maybe that's the reason you're not getting paid as quickly. I'm not saying that a guy who is in the same room as him, the same huddle as him. All of that is saying it. We don't see these from the Cowboys. We see Jerry surrounded by fifty people, say and his usual stuff. We say whoever the coach is towing the line, and we say players mostly staying in line. DeMarcus Lawrence just said, I know everything about that organization.

Nobody knows. I got a PhD. In twenty first.

Century Dallas Cowboys, and they're never winning the Super Bowl. It's not me saying that, Peter saying that, You're saying it him saying it means.

A lot more. It makes a lot more memorable.

Yeah, Kyle, I think you describe everything perfectly. It's just very underwhelming what this offseason has been for.

The Dallas Cowboys.

You know, hon to see one player tweet you know, let's get to work or we're getting ready to go, you know, for this Brian Schottenheimer hires, just there's no excitement here.

There's a lack of moves.

I mean, it's just Micah Parsons doesn't have a contract yet.

There's no offseason moves and.

A guy like DeMarcus Lawrence, who spent eleven years on this team gave it his absolute all. For him to come out and say that and truly feel like, hey, this team is never going to win a super Bowl.

It very much so reminds me of.

The Damian Lillard story arc of giving his absolute awe to the Portland Trailblazers and finally has been like, you know what, enough is enough. I Am not going to win here. I gave it absolutely everything I got. I'm done. I still call this place my home. I love this place, but I'm done and I'm over it. And that's what DeMarcus did.

Dame, what's up?

Dame?

Talk this morning? Isaac?

Yeah, this is like, is more good morning basketball? I like a little touch of that.

Yeah. Sometimes here's my thing with it. I know this.

Have you ever had a disagreement with your significant other and you get around the homies and you tell a totally different story to them than actually happen.

I think Peter had it right on the head.

I think there's some drama maybe in this locker room that is just spilling over some frustrations. I don't think those two guys are getting into a tweeting match unless there was frustration that was pre existing. Also, I don't know what DeMarcus Lawrence is talking about. When it comes to Super Bowls. If I'm comparing these two teams, Seahawks and Cowboys that are fully rolling, I'm taking the Cowboys every time. I mean, Dak Prescott has had great seasons. You've seen CD Lamb play very well. Well, I don't really love this. I'm leaving to go win a Super Bowl and I'm going to the Seahawks.

It'd be different if he was like standing in the Chiefs practice facility, or the Bills or the Ravens. But like you're saying, in terms of teams that might be closer to the finish line, holding a Lombardi having a parade, you would take the Cowboys right now.

Correct.

I think a lot of people in the NFL, and we see a lot of teams in the NFL who.

Need a quarterback.

If Dak was available and they knew he was rolling on all cylinders, they're taking him.

It's no question. And you're right, yeah, he goes to the Egos.

He goes to a team that we know is a little bit more ready to go than the Seahawks.

Are.

Sure that argument makes sense, but this feels like drama.

Yeah, voluntary.

I find it fascinating that Michael Parsons is what I would think, you know, the best young defender under the age of thirty. Whatever you want to do and say he said calling me a clown won't change the fact that maybe he spent less time tweeting and.

More time winning. I wouldn't have left.

This tells me that DeMarcus Lawrence walked off on his own accord. It's like, I'm done with this. This has been a situation that I have just had enough of. And DeMarcus Lawrence is going to the Seahawks, where the defensive line coach of the Cowboys for many years is now the defensive coordinator, so he's going back to like the coach, and I have to wonder without a wide mad mass and then widespread response from Cowboys players like being like DeMarcus, watch your mouth, or hey, say that to our faith like it was silent. It was it was like tumbleweeds he said that, and everyone just kind of did that meme where it's like, you know, like the guy with the hat, and it's that's what it felt like. And I wonder with that quote, is that revealing something far and greater that has been said by all the other players, but they can't say and you could only say it.

When you walk out the door.

And the fact that we don't have ten different Cowboys rallying around him and rallying around.

Micah and saying, who, well, watch yourself, that's our leader. I don't think anyone's talking about t J.

Watt that way this morning, and I certainly don't think on the way out. You know, you get this from from A Miles Garrett. This is interesting that Michaeh. Parson's a real shot to his CA Turner production. And I don't see any other Cowboys players or Cowboys fans being like, hey watch it, Mike's our guy.

And I think it's also very important to note that DeMarcus Lawrence came into this league in a completely different era than Micah Parsons. This new era of players, you know, being on media, having their own podcasts during the season, the Saint Brown Podcast, MICA's podcast. You know, there's a lot of things that get thrown out in the media that other teams use as juice and as fuel.

And in that era that.

DeMarcus Lawrence came into, it was frowned upon by coaches by front office for guys to be doing their things on the side because it was looked at as a distraction or you know, guys aren't focused enough or they don't care enough, And I think that that can turn off a lot of the older players that came in into that era. So I think that also plays a part in all of this when he you know, clearly says like, hey, if you're if you're tweeting a whole lot less, maybe we'd be winning.

More and things of that nature.

So I think it's just very important to also note that these are two different airs of the NFL. Like now, these players who are coming in, they're taught about branding.

They're taught about, hey, you.

Know, use your name while you're in the league, use your juice and build your brand, and thinks of that nature to a lot of me, me me right now, And that's kind of the era that we're in in the football world right now. So I think that's really important to note as well.

I just want to double down on this because I really do feel like this feels like something that's been brewing.

I understand Peter, what you're saying about.

You know, guys should be coming out and maybe the Cowboys community should be coming out and saying, Hey, DeMarcus, we really miss you.

YadA YadA, YadA.

I feel like again, this is something that's been brewing. I think DeMarcus Lawrence is a great player, and it just feels like drama.

Drama that was on has finally unearthed.

Kyle, I'm in the same page. This is an interesting day for the Cowboys. What are they going to say today? This is a massive story that's on our show, it's leading our show, It's going to be all over the media. The NFL media likes nothing more than juicy Cowboys stuff, and we haven't gotten any of it in months. Does Jerry Jones speak today? Does anybody on the team to Shchotenheimer speak today? Is it come back to DeMarcus Lawrence now? Whereas oh really, cause I can say some things about you like it's all open. He completely exposed any vulnerability if he did anything wrong, if he ever did too much mediator, didn't practice, it's all there. So if you are a Cowboys player who's proud to be a Cowboys player and thinks they can win.

A Super Bowl, today is your day to speak.

It could be now could be this afternoon, but don't say nothing, because being nothing is complicit. Exactly what he said, I think it's time to speak up. If this is player empowerment, this is the day to use it and speak.

I would also add that if you've been watching our show this week and you're throwing the remote, that's going to say enough about Aaron Rodgers, say thank you to Marcus Lawrence. To Marcus Lawrence brought us some real content that we're starting the show at this we're being uber dramatic about this in a lot of ways, and we're saying they're like, there's Jova. This is also, like you said, this is classic sports NBA, Like if you watch the Last Dance, you know that this is the kind of stuff that goes on in the locker room. There's jealousies, there's player of personalities, and on the way out, there are some thoughts and there are some things that.

Are going to be revealed.

DeMarcus Lawrence he knows what the Cowboys haven't been able to do the last few years. And as much as we see Mikah parsons and commercials and having his own podcast and all of us praising him, there's the stuff off the field that maybe people don't love him doing all the media and being the voice of the team at that age when the team isn't winning.

Peter, I feel like today represents the Cowboys first win over Rogers.

That's actually nice. That's good. They finally got him, guys, great job.

Yeah, here we are in March. It really happened for him.

Jason, I think you bring up a good point about the identity of the player as it stands in the NFL today, not to overlook the fact that just recently in college football, a name that people know very well, Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia is telling his players that sure you can be on social media, Sure you could be on TikTok, but you will not dance on TikTok. And the coach actually said, and I quote, look, this is not what we want for a program. You can't be in there in your tights dancing on TikTok and that ain't quite the image of our program that I want. So this is a hard line from a college coach that's being decided.

Kyle, I'm wondering.

You talked about Micah Parsons, and this is a choice that he has made as a player.

Do you have a blanket.

Statement for all players in the NFL right now? Do you generally don't care that they're doing this stuff on social media? Are you of the older school where you're like, guys enough while you're playing, just play.

Yeah, Jamie, I'm not going to bottom line players doing social media and dancing right here on a Friday morning.

That's a big, big topic. Listen.

I actually when I saw Rich Rod's quote, I laughed at it. And he's trying to do something, hey, and I laughed at it appreciatively, and I am not mockingly. Good luck with that, Good luck with getting players to stop dancing doing whatever they want.

My bottom line, No, I do not have one.

I even said, like, I think Michael Parkson's does well in a podcast.

I think he's good at it.

I think he's actually, you know, if I'm being candid here in Good Morning Football, he's much better in his podcast than he is as a guest on the show.

It's just where he's comfortable. So there's no.

Reason the fact that he's doing a pod is making him sacked at Jalen Hurts last I don't know.

Five years ago or six years ago, Cliff Kingsbury told his players during a meeting they're going to get a five minute cell phone break during meetings, and old school NFL media freaked out said it was crazy. This guy is going to get walked all over. You got to play to their egos that you gotta give him a cell phone. Now, that seems pretty pretty smart, and it seems like this is where this is going. Either get on board or not. DeMarcus Lawrence is thirty two years old. He does not have a podcast. He does not tweet a whole bunch where he's constantly weighing in on things that are happening around the league.

Michael Parsons does.

It's a little bit of a generational thing. It's also this might be where it's going. It's time to get on board. And Isaac, I'm not going to imagine you're going to be a person who's anti social media at anti podcast.

I couldn't be any less anti social media.

Jason, you brought up the best point though. This is just a new norm.

I mean even with you look when you look at Colorado with Shador Sanders and everything that they've done with their podcast, this is normal.

Also, I just.

Want to note TikTok kind of blew up in twenty twenty and I obviously jumped on the bandwagon and everybody was looking at me, calling me crazy. Now, when I was in the locker room the last time a couple of years ago, guys were like, can you put me on? Can you give me a shout out? You know, give me a shout out. So things have changed and this is a new norm. And at the end of the day for the consumer, this is entertainment for the consumer. For the fan, this is juicy when you've got guys talking giving their perspective.

It's literally what we're doing.

But now everybody has a stage to do it. I'm such a fan of the new age and media, all right.

And the access and the freedom that the player has to do so. But guys, the Yankees are also allowed to have facial hair.

Now.

It's a very important part of this here, all right.

You can also check out the full interview, which we referenced with to Marcus Lawrence from the Seahawks at YouTube dot com slash hawk blogger, Way to go Hawk blogger. That was a big get and now we're leading our show with it. At a boy up in Seattle coming up.

On our show.

There are several power couples in the NFL. You know, both parties, But where does the fame balance lie in all of these couples?

What's up?

Braxonberry us new to Houston, but Alex Earl not new to the scene. Isaac Rochelle naturally and myself are going to play a little game called game or fame. Isaac, we put our heads together on this one.

Good looking at young people there, and we look at those really going places.

Wow.

Plus the Bears and the rivalry heating back out in the NFC North.

Could this become one of.

The great ravelries right now in football? Ben Johnson's in place, Campbell's running the show. Lions, Bears, are you into it? Good Morning football. We're gonna take a brief cell phone break and we'll be right back.

Good morning football.

It's one of the most thrilling moments in an NFL game.

The score is just awkward.

Enough that the camera immediately whips to a head coach after a touchdown at score and you see that coach go like this, and we're just like KOs They're going for two and we might have something happen at the goal line.

Here, it's GMFB. We're going to play go for two.

Couple of topics on deck, and we're going to start with the Chicago Bears. Their GM Ryan Poles and their new head coach Ben Johnson spoke to the media yesterday and they talked about players wanting to sign with Chicago this offseason because of the promise of their quarterback.

Yeah, I mean, one was excited about where Caleb can go. We all know that there's a lot of growth that has to happen and get him to where he needs to be. But that excitement in terms of what he can be obviously, you know, helps get other coaches and players excited to be here and work with him and help get him to where he needs to be.

Then do you see that too? Yeah?

Absolutely. I think he put a lot of good stuff on tape last year, and I think everyone recognizes that as they see the crossover tape and they're watching that each week. So listen, we got a lot of really strong building blocks to get this thing going in the right direction.

This is a great string of connection between last year and this upcoming season. We were all up in the commander's business because of Jayden Daniels the Commander's made a massive leap rekindling one of the best rivalries in the NFC East, Commander's Eagles. So it feels like we might have a similar situation happening here with Chicago and Detroit. Feels like there's juice back with the Bears and the Lions.

Jason, would you agree with.

This that we have a reinvigorated Chicago Detroit rivalry.

I do definitely think that in years to come, this is going to be quite the rivalry show down. It has all the narratives in the making for it to be that. I know the media is gonna absolutely run with it every single time this matchup comes up. Because Ben Johnson left the Detroit Lions on a sour note and goes right to the NFC North Division opponent in the Chicago Bears. What I'll say is, if there's one guy who can go out there and unlock Caleb Williams, it is Ben Johnson.

I've seen it with my own eyes, the.

Way Ben Johnson very personally works with his quarterbacks, the way he worked with Jared Goff, and he is the type of coach.

He's not a cookie cutter guy.

He's going to adjust He's going to do what he feels is in the quarterback's best interest.

He's truly going to listen.

He's going to see what Caleb likes, what he doesn't like, the type of throws he does like, to make what he doesn't. And there aren't a lot of coaches in the league that do that. Most coaches, they have their system, they have what they do, and if the quarterback likes it or not, they don't really care. It's what they're asking is what you're going to do. Ben isn't like that at all. And I think, like I said, he's a great coach. He's a great communicator, he's a great installer scheme, and he makes sure everything is fluid all the way from the quarterback room to the receiver room to the old line room. So I think that this has the makings of being a rivalry.

And Ben Johnson is Ben Johnson. He's a offensive genius.

I think there needs to be some context too the question, because of course it's a division rivals like is it, Yes, But for the last several years, and you could say for the last several decades, it was like Vikings Packers, Vikings Packers, Vikings Packers, and the Bears and the Lions were had their years here and there in the last two decades, but for the most part it was those teams. Question is are these the two teams in the NFC North now? And I look at this rivalry and of course it's got this rich tradition.

Last year's games were really good too between them.

Remember the Thanksgiving Day game with a colossal era it ended up costing Mattyberfluss's job ultimately. And then the next time they played, of course it was an outdoors game and it was good in the Lions and that was when you got the fake handoff with Gibbs and Golf and Gibbs goes down and it's all that at the thirty. So like the rivalry has been there the Jews is there? The real question here to me, are the the top two teams going into next season? Now that we've got Sam Darnold playing elsewhere and the Packers we know they came up short when it mattered in the wildcar round against the against the Eagles. Are they ascending or are they descending? These two teams they got juice right now?

Are they the top two teams the NFC North?

I don't think we need to overthink robberies. Like when I think of robberies, I think back to when I played at Notre Dame. One of the funnest games that we played was Notre Dame versus Michigan. And the reason that it was fun at the time that we played is because our defensive coordinator was a Michigan guy.

It was hyped up and there was a lot of touch points for us.

And that's what I think about when I think about this game. You mentioned Ben Johnson. That's a touch point like that adds to this game. The fact that he came from Detroit, the fact that it matters for him, and the fact that he's bringing a lot of that influence.

To the Bears. Huge deal.

Location these teams are not far from each other, like that matters when it comes to a rivaly. You're gonna have a lot of fan crossover people that are excited about it. It's going to add to it even if you're watching at home on TV. And then I think about matchup. Lastly, this Bears team, which we just talked about, is much improved. There is such a chance for this team to come out and impress everybody.

And then even deeper than that.

When I think about the matchup O line D line, think about these O line and D lines that we're going to be watching playing like the trench match is what makes this really really special.

I can't wait to watch it.

And again, the excitement around this revamped Chicago Bears team is what makes this really a rival.

It's special.

I think that's a really good point that you're making, because I think the reason these games are going to be good is because both teams are going to be really physical, Like I think they're going to be nasty, nasty like Raven Steelers era type games. I've said this over and over since this whole last few weeks. Caleb is great. The Bears in twenty twenty five are going to run the ball. You don't trade for guards and centers and land those type of players if you're just gonna air it out. Look At what Ben did last year with those two running backs in Detroit. They were really a run team, and then Jared Goffers do his thing. It's going to be a really physical run game. And I still think they're going to add a big name running back to the Bears.

The other thing I think is interesting I'm.

Looking at the bottom third of the screen is the juice back and the Bears lines. There hasn't really been a ton of juice over the years because both of these teams have had long stretches where they're terrible. And I'm talking about like going back to the nineties. This is not Bear's Packers, It's not Vikings Packers, Bears Lions. Both teams have suffered so much. It's never like here we go eleven and four versus ten and five furthest It's not like that very often, but I think it will be now because of the playing style I just mentioned. And then look, just the Ben Johnson thing is really really big. The fact that your superstar coordinator goes in division you know you're gonna play him twice a year, and he goes against Dan Campbell. You know, Dan Campbell had this when he wants the Broncos against Sean Payton, the guy who is his guy, and went and he destroyed him. I think a lot of the players and the Lions like Ben Johnson. This isn't one of these things that like screw him. But I also think when Ben Johnson shows up to his opening day and openly disrespects the Packers, which he did. Do you gotta go to your old team and you're going to go back to Detroit and you're going to welcome them to Soldier Field.

You got to show up. That's when you do the trick plays, That's when you do the running game. I'll put it this way.

Is this one of the biggest rivalries quote unquote that I want to watch in twenty twenty five this season? Hell yes, I think Bears and Lions isn't back. It's almost showing up for the first time all across the board.

This is what I'm looking for.

The logos and the brands are familiar, but the rivalry is unfamiliar to us.

Kyle.

It's a good point, and it's maybe the first version of it that we're going to see in the NFC North. All right, let's go on our second point, going for two. Mac Jones has a new home in the Bay Area. The former first round pick of the Patriots has agreed to a two year, seven million dollar deal with San Francisco. We enjoy the mac Jones experience, and we know what he did with the Patriots.

He's been in Jacksonville last couple of seasons.

This leads us into a brock Party conversation, though, Peter, how do we look at brock Party now when what the forty nine ers are trying to accomplish in making him a new offer and a new deal this offseason, when the forty nine ers have made a ton of transactions, we don't know what direction they're going in.

Where can they stand right now with Party?

I mean, I think we do know which direction. They're cleaning up their books, they're doing a lot with it.

Seems like our countries do it in a lot of ways where it's like we're looking.

Inside and we're saying, where's the fat.

Let's trim it whether you like it or not. And I know a lot of Niners fans do not like it.

Get more of the country, Peter.

There's a lot of people who have thoughts on that, but go to other networks for that stuff.

But it does feel a little bit like that where it's hey, wait, wait, wait, wait a second.

We've got this, this giant debt. We have to take care of this at some point. Let's address it. But the elephant in the room is this is.

Rock Party's time to get paid. He's waited he's.

Been the one who's been steady and consistent.

While they've paid everybody else.

Why should he feel the pain of a Brandon I you contract that maybe wasn't as advised as.

Others would imagine or deserve.

Why should he feel the pain of all these contract extensions that these guys have gotten, maybe at a number that didn't really make sense on an open market if you're not going for a super Bowl that year.

Party to me is maybe the I.

Guess wild card in the league outside of Aaron Rodgers right now. And it's not whether it's gonna be the quarterback of the forty nine ers.

I believe he will be.

It's did he just show up to the party and there's no more cake left?

Like there was a long line at the ice cream man and then you know he was twentieth in line.

It's finally his turn and the ice cream man shuts the door. That could be the case, Like, I don't think the Niners did all this so that they could pay Rock Party sixty million dollars?

No, I don't wait, Can I actually like the new Party deal? Is this gonna be like a Joe Burrow contract? Like one of those massive, massive, things.

I don't going right it is, and I think he has done enough where he could be in the conversation for that. But if you think they got rid of all these guys so that.

They can reward Party, I don't see it that way. That's how I think a lot of people think's gonna happen. I don't see it that way.

And I think they're gonna take care of Party and it'll be a sensible contract. And for him as mister Irrelevant and his agent Kyle Strong and who are both like, we are committed to getting this for the like for his future and for the team's future. I don't think Perty's a me first guy where he's like, I need to be the highest paid. That said, I don't think the Niners are looking to shell out sixty million dollars for brock Perty.

I'm just not.

But here's my thing, Peter, why should it be a sensible contract?

And like, this is the reality of the NFL.

I absolutely cannot stand because there is a class system in the NFL. This guy, for the last four years has taken him.

To two NFC championships and a Super Bowl.

Trevor Lawrence was a first round pick where has Trevor Lawrence gone Trevor Lawrence when it was time for him to get paid, he got top quarterback money period, end of story. And we're sitting here like, ah, you know, we're wondering what Brock's gonna get. Like this is mister irrelevant and he's been as relevant as can possibly be in the forty nine ers organization. Pay that man, and it should be the type of number that is just directly under the tier of the Lamar Jackson's, the Patrick Mahomes and the Josh Allens of the league.

Because he has shown results, he has been.

Productive, he has taken the forty nine Ers of places that they haven't been in recent years. That is the reality of the situation, and that is out of the I cannot stand because they'll try to box you in as much as they possibly can, and when you outperform what your draft status was, we sit here and we wonder, Ah, should it be a team friendly deal?

We didn't want to that with Trevor Lawrence. I don't like it. Pay the man.

I need to not get started on that point because as a seventh rounder I could go for days because I am also frustrated, but this is two thoughts for me.

One, did he earn the right to get paid?

And does he fit in the system in the future system, Yes, Shanahan and with a great offensive line and run game and Christian McCaffrey, Purty can continue to be successful. Defenses have to game plan for a lot and it gives him a great opportunity to do his thing.

Has he earned the right?

Jason? You said it great. There's nothing else to say. Two NFC Championship appearances, a Super Bowl? Do you think the Giants would pay a lot of money for Perdy to go there. There's a lot of teams in the NFL that would do anything for Perty. He's definitely earned the right to get paid.

I was triggered to by your phrase, Peter, of sensible contract because I just I feel that feels like a myth to me about them, and I would like to see them. But then you go to the agents and it's just look at the comps. This guy was in a Super Bowl, he played well, sensible, No, like give us everything, but listen the case against Purty and like I hear you guys about the results to the results. If you wanted to poke a hole in it, it's a wins above replacement factor. It is the idea that he has done great things in one Shanahan got to you a super Bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo. There's an impression that put another guy in for brock Purty and the Shanahan machine will win. You could put Sam Darnold in there, who was there last year, at a lesser deal than brock Perty is going to get, and you're going to win. It's that he's limited, it's that he is a passenger basically. Now, that's where the juice is in the debate. If you really think that it's brock Purty's talent and acumen and work ethic, fine, but don't ignore the impression out there that rock Purty is certainly not a Josh Allen talent or a Joe Burn talent. He's an average talent in a great system. He works hard and.

The executes and God bless him for it.

But there is two sides to that debate of she'd just pay him everything.

He's amazing. It's not cut and dry.

It's a good question what would rock Purty net on the open market? And I think you know, Isaac, you just said that, and it's you look at guys like Josh.

Allen and Joe Burt, it would never even happen.

Would you rather have as your quarterback Dak Prescott or Rock Perty like you tell me, is it clear and cut?

I think I'd probably read that, Dak.

And would you rather have Trevor? I would rather have Rock Purty than Trevor Lawrence. If we're using Trevor Lawrence, I don't know. Trevor Lawrence still has all the potential in the world of lop Hill's eyes, and as good as Purty is.

It's do you take him out of that system? And is he the same guy.

Brock Purdy winning and Jackson in the last few years?

Oh? No, no, I do he's not. What do you guys think?

Well, I was going to say.

I I was saying with some friends forty nine Ers fans at a dinner, and this guy is.

A Massifrey and Iris fan goes.

I don't think Rock Party deserves that type of contract at fifty million a year contract. He would rather have somebody else pay Rock Perty. Isaac to your point and bring in I'm not saying it's Rogers, but bring in somebody on the open market because of how good Shanahan is, So there are real forty nine Ers fans out there who are like, no, no, no, no, like bound and gag, we don't want to pay him like that because we have to put the money elsewhere. So Kyle speaking to the fans, it's not I think the representation is just like we love him, people like Bark Party. He's a great guy and he seems to fit that sy some great But I don't think there is this ground swell amongst forty nine Ers fans that are like, no, he's absolutely our guy for the next seven years. Pay him some guaranteed massive deal because of you, because you have Kyle Shanahan.

Yeah, and Shannanan know what time it's been for the last for the last few years. Yeah, you have a dirt cheap quarterback, like the lowest paid guy in the league. And it's not a coincidence that there are players all over the defense, all over the huddle, and how many of those guys have left now Drake green Law and you check, we could keep going and going. You had your window, it's you didn't cash it in. And now it's a new normal. This is a new John Lynch has a totally different job. Now, and I feel like Niners fans is probably a sense of we should have cashed it in.

Yeah, And the thing with Perty that I really want to touch on and Kyle you were kind of just talking about it Shanahan of it all. It just is what it is. So many guys in the NFL get paid because they're just there, Like you got you have to pay your quarterback that is there, and that's kind of the situation that he's ensure. You could plug in other quarterbacks that would be successful, but he's there and he's done it and he's the guy, and the market is.

Crazy, so I think you have to respect that.

My thing is, I'm so tired of hearing people call brock Purty average in any type of way. Like Tom Brady physically was an average dude, but he had elite.

Traits and they were up here. He had elite traits.

In decision making and in protecting the football. I don't care what system you put brock Purty in. He's going to come in, learn the system. He's gonna make great decisions because guess what, as a quarterback, you got to do that on every single snap because you touch the ball on every single snap. You gotta make great decisions and you got to protect the football. One of the biggest things when it comes to winning football games is turnover ratio.

They say, if you lose.

The turnover battle, it is a seventy percent chance that you're going to lose that game. Brock Party is great at protecting football. He is great at making great decisions, and he knows and understands the system. So I don't care what system you put him in. I don't care where you plug him in. He does things the right way and that is elite in itself.

I think there's a lot of comparisons right now to Party and then like you think of like Jared Goff and Detroit with Cabindo where you played, where a lot of people were like, he's not worth this much money, and then you look at it, you're like, he wins games, he rebuilt this team, and we're going to pay him based on that. If you're looking at Party, he's even younger and has this great potential. Is he going to ever win a quarterback challenge against the Trevor Lawrence and the you know and whoever else you want? Jaden Daniels, Probably not, but you put him in a team, you can be a leader, and he's going to be a guy that.

Can lift all boats. That's point. That's the point.

One point two. The Niners kind of control all the cards here because they can offer him whatever they want to offer him.

He could be insulted.

They can still franchise tag him two more years, so it's almost he's not even on the open market for another two seasons after this. So it's like, at what point is that, Hey, I just I'm okay with forty million, or I'm okay with forty five million, Because I do think that's where the conversations are probably starting right now, not fifty five, not sixty.

I do enjoy the prospect of the answer to this question, which is the fact that Sam Donald was in San Francisco, he goes to Minnesota and effectively becomes perhaps the product of his system. Now we are going to see what the Sam Donald experience really is at quarterback in Seattle, and we may have more answers to this question this upcoming season.

Welcome back everyone, as we continue to celebrate Women's Fistory Month, we celebrate the accomplishments of inspirational women across the league. British American football analysts and NFL Global Flag Football Ambassador Phoebe Schechter describes how women are leading the flag football movement around the world.

So I wear many different hats and ultimately they all revolve around American football. I play flag football for Great Britain. I am an analyst for Sky.

Sports Aaron chu Man here.

And I am also one of the NFL's Global Flag Ambassadors. We're having countries reach out to us daily. So I started off playing tackle football and absolutely fell in love with it, and I decided I wanted to make my whole life revolve around the sport. I never thought that I was going to be a broadcaster for Sky Sports, but I'm just so passionate and I want to educate and teach.

What you guys are doing is so cool because there's a place for women in our game. It's not a man's game, it's everybody's game.

As an NFL and IFAs Global Flag Ambassador, I feel firstly so humble to be in this role. The growth of flag football is so important, especially for women, because first off, women are really the driving force behind this. I think it's one of those sports where you don't have to fit a certain mold. You can be any shape or size. All you need is a football and a flag belt. It's just one of those sports you can't help but fall in love with when you watch it.

Sabe Scheckter one of the pre eminent minds and voices around the NFL and certainly in the world of flag So to com Travis Kelce and Taylor Swiss one of the premier power couples. But they aren't the only ones out there in the NFL. We'll look at some of the big name duos.

Only good morn football.

And welcome back, guys. I'm here with Isaac and we're going to go back to our twenty eighteen game.

I actually didn't know at the time that I played against Isaac. He was on the other side of this Chargers Raiders game. This is my first start, my rookie year, and we've got some highlights to play for you.

Guys. Man, I think I was probably inspiring you. On my side of the field. You might have married. This is my guy, John Rudin Chucky Man. Paul's right here. See, Philip Rivers.

Is probably one of the I don't think you guys know this one of the biggest trash talkers in the entire NFL at the time. At quarterback, I had no idea Philip Rivers me out before this play.

I'm lined up right there.

I got Keenan Allen at three and he literally looks at Keenan.

Points at me and he's like, just go. I'm like, is this guy serious? Boom, Let's let let's play this run with Keenan. I'm writing this hip pocket right here. Look at Philip Rivers, you little old man throwing a duck. Man, I'm right there.

I'm right there.

Get out of here.

Man.

You feel like you're back in it right now. I just want to point out to Philip Rivers, he's a dad gummy guy when he would talk.

Look at this I was. I felt like I was at.

The top of my career during these moments because I was rushing with some of the best, Melvin Ingram.

And Joey Bosa. Oh that boy's coming downhill, undrafted free agent. Man, I'm playing with my hair on fire man. This is my time, this is my time.

Ooh, Keenan Allen was Keenan Allen was getting us this day.

Man, that boy can play, he can't play.

He can't play, and I feel like he ages and gets better and better as he goes.

Melvin go in out here.

I mean, this guy was an absolute stud in college, came out in the NFL and was tearing it up. You see him here for a sixty yard touchdown. We got our butts with this day. I can't lie, but I was just happy that I was out there. Man, I got the rock fine e League.

The coolest thing about this year, too, is just the fact that I felt like our team was rolling like this D line. Like I mentioned earlier with Melvin Ingram, myself, Joey bo So we had so much distribution as far as stats in sacks, and when that happens with the D line, that's when you know you're rolling.

They bought five three under the ball man, Get that boy, five three under the ball man.

Come on out, give me some airtime.

Go ahead, show that hey pause right here, pas right here. Because I remember film review this week. I used to see Derek Watt in the backfield, and I say, man, the only reason why Derek Watton the leads because his brothers.

Man, It's only because of JJ and T. That's the only reason why you're in the league. I just get so answered when I see him. I promise you you're going to play a clip. Play the clip is come here? Where are you going? Hey going? Derek? I'll speak on behalf of the wide fired up I've.

Played with you, Derek, you were a great teammate and even better player. Let's not act like he didn't lead the NFL in special teams tackles.

You know that on TV? We Uh I'll say, I like how you like?

Oh that intense clip from the Lions?

Uh?

Hard knocks A follows me everywhere, Like, no, you're still that guy, so like.

We see it, we see it every day. Peter and Kyle.

The one time that these two were on the field at the same on the same game, it's pretty good.

Look back.

Anybody you remember that match up Peter Kyle New York.

Those are a lot of good Raiders Chargers games from that era, of course. But I got to ask Kabinda something we think of you as this hard nose fullback to the Lions. There you are playing linebacker. When did you make the switch and what was that conversation like? Because it's very few times a player can go from offense to defense or defense to offense in their career.

See A lot of people don't know this, but I mean, I played linebacker in my first three years in the league, and you know, I ended up making the switch. I don't want to say on accident, but it actually happened because a lot of trash talk that used to go on between me and our running backs coach Kyle Cask.

At the time.

We used to have one on one drills with our running backs linebackers versus running backs, pass rush and pass routes, and I.

Remember we used to whoop up on them.

And I remember passing him in the hallway in the building over in Detroit. I was like, man, you guys need some more dolls on your side, and Kyle was like, man, why don't you come over here. We're just joking around. Next practice comes around, Kyle comes in grass and we got Oklahoma drills. He's like, man, just come here and play a little fullback. I had Jared Davis on the other side. He was our hardest hitting linebacker and I came over there in training camp and it was like a god and whoa. They were like, Okay, hold up, bit I might have a little something. Then the next practice comes around. We go half line, run same thing and go outside zone. I'm filling in on lead zone and boom smack a linebacker. Next practice after that, now I'm in eleven or eleven and now I'm like, all right, what's going on here?

Guy? I am still a linebacker, Like, can we relax? Can we relax a little bit?

And then you know, after that practice, I was still doing my thing. We had a fullback at the time that I was drafted in the fifth round. He was a little bit injured, and I ended up making the switch. I won the job doing that training camp and the rest was history.

I'm perfect.

I love it.

And now you're making the switch to TV another position, Isaac. We love Philip Rivers. Here tell us something that we don't know about seventeen.

When you look back, Philip.

Rivers was one of the best teammates I've ever had. And I mean that genuinely. And it's not like Philip Rivers was you know it texted me, Isaac, you want to hang out, you know, like all this stuff, but he was so impactful. One of the biggest impactful moments that I had with Philip. I was a seventh round draft pick from Notre Dame, forty boy, long hair, nervous to walk in the locker room. And the first day that I walked in the locker room, Philip Rivers comes up to me, shakes my hand.

He says, nice to meet you, Isaac. I'm Philip Rivers, and I'm like, hold phil.

Ice, I know exactly who you are, but it's just the type of teammate.

He was.

Another thing about phil that I love flying back from games, and Jason, you know how fun these these flights back are when you win. He would sit back and chat with the young guys, tell us stories, and just feed us with information that we wanted.

We were so excited.

It was like story time with Philip Rivers. That's exactly what any of us want on this show.

I got.

That's awesome, mister Rogers. But uh, nin kids, and uh right, right right, And there's a.

Van involved there somewhere.

All right, guys, busy hour on GMFB. But Kyle, there must be a topic that we haven't gotten to in the next hour that you want to make sure we cover, maybe just in the next segment.

Even Yeah, we dug deep for this one.

We brainstormed, but we always give you the creativity, And for this one, we give.

You who won free agency?

Who is your winner of free agency. We're gonna declare it, we're gonna tweet it, we're gonna.

Post it, and we're gonna be right right after this. Guys, But we

Don't do lothers just to one, Yeah,
