Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio, Good Mom Football.

Well, welcome to Good Morning Football sponsored by Old Trapper Beef Jerky. Welcome into our Los Angeles studios. Friday, doesn't that feel good? October eighteenth, I'm sure verse alongside ot Barje Bajibia, Milla Mantiteo all the way on the other coast. Have our Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt this game last night, starting where this season will end for the Super Bowl. But we are going to hit the lead block, starting with that Broncos Saints game. Kyle wh it was, it had its moments, lead.

Bok excellent game, fantastic football game. And the Breeze family's all there. We'll do a roll call on the second segment. I love the Breeze family names. I got them all written here. But here is Sean Payton. The name there is Bo Nicks. He's gonna try to get it winning with time with.

John Elway for the most by rookie and franchise history.

But Javonte he's back.

Peter.

Remember John Say Williams was great years ago.

University of North Carolina took a lead by storm he's back, he's healthy, and he was running all over the Saints yesterday.

He really was Dennis Allen.

Not a lot of complimentary shots of him on the sideline and Boon knicks.

Man, the bags are back?

Ain't our back life after breeze with the double fluid lee and the double thumbs down.

I hate to see it. Guys.

Remember when the Saints were two and zero, Well they just said I lost their fifth game by three touchdowns at home to a rookie quarterback. Rough night, though, however, Sean Payton returns to New Orleans and an emotional Sean Payton with one of our close close friends, Jamee Slater in the tunnel after the win.

Seaun, seeing you walk down this tunnel, you're looking a little emotional.

How was this one for you?

I think, Look, our guys handled the week. It's a short week and so part of that, you know, we were immersed in the game plan and you really didn't have a chance to really, you know, make it all in and I think you're tired, you're sleep deprived. And I think afterwards, you know, I was proud of our players. You know, they just a short played well and it's not often you get to do something like this, and yeah, I think it was more at the end where I felt the emotion.

Yeah, super special homecoming there for Sean Payton. He said he misses even just the dialect being back in New Orleans. But as we look ahead to the rest of the weekend, the Super Bowl fifty eight rematch brought out all the fields for Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan. He spoke to the media earlier this week about how that game still haunts him a little bit.

Everyone understands that we've lost the two Super Bowls to them, so I mean that can give a little post traumatic stress when you turn on the tape. But I think that's human nature. But you got to make sure you don't get caught up in that. You know, this game has nothing to do with past games that was last year. We're playing at a really good AFC opponent where five hundred. Right now, we want to stay on top of our division and get a win. I don't really I mean, you think about this stuff going into it, but in terms of what it plays out in a game, it really has no correlation and you try to make sure that it doesn't.

I mean, I really appreciate coach Shanahan's honesty there about saying that, yeah, this game really does sign a kit give me the HEBGB.

Still.

Ultimately, though, when we look at this Super Bowl rematch, Peter, for you specifically, what really is jumping out looking at Chiefs and Niners coming up this weekend?

Well, good morning, Sherry Man, Tai Ackbar on a Friday morning.

This might be the.

Best weekend slate we've had thus far, and it really is centered around this game, a Super Bowl rematch.

But I also think.

It's centered around a specific matchup. And I just challenge you at home to find someone somewhere who respects and appreciates you as much as Steve Spagnolo, the defensive coordinator of the Chiefs, respects and appreciates brock perty Let's first start off with yesterday's press conference when Spaggs was asked about Party's game. Here is what the three times Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs and one time defending Super Bowl champion of the Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnolo had to say about the Niners quarterback.

I can't find a weakness at this quarterback. Every time I put the film on I'm more and more impressed. It's funny. I was watching you guys will have a better idea of the year. When did we go out there and play in a regular season game? Yeah, and it was at the end of the game, and I think they had taken Garoppolo out and it was brock party and I had forgotten that. But he ran the two minute drill and kind of got him down there, and then I think we picked it off at the end. But he looked pretty good then, not like he is now. But I'm really impressed with the quarterbacks.

All right, that's just him praising the opposing quarterback. That would be one thing. But I had him on my podcast. There we go a week after the Super Bowl and here with Spags back in February, having watched the tape of the game.

Against the Niners in the chase. Take a listen.

I didn't rock pretty uh.

I think he's terrific.

Watched I mean, you watched all the games, and you know there's guys on TV, me included, who poke holes and parties.

No, you got to watch the whole Yeah, I didn't find many.

I tell you.

The other thing that that stuck out was and those you know, so we played Tua, we play Josh Allen, play with Jackson, and you've got to worry about those guys always running the football. So we get now it's going to be San Francisco. We haven't watched a lot of film with them, so I don't really know him. Okay, it's a backup quarterback. Okay, maybe he's not a runner. Maybe we maybe we get a little break here. I turned the film on and then he's ripping Green Bay and Detroit with a couple of you know.

The run plays there third.

And I said, okay, here we go. We got another one. I will I'll tell I'll be honest with you. I just texted Brock the other day. I tried to track down a sell number. I just wanted to tell him how much respect I have for him. Well, yeah, dude, I love a terrific game he played. I mean, and he's such a quality guy, strong Christian man, and I respect all of that, and I'm happy for all his success. I'm glad he didn't have quite real good game.

This is cool to me.

This is the utmost respect from a guy who doesn't necessarily get the utmost respect. I mentioned in that clip that a lot of us on TV poke calls. I think there's a lot of talking heads and a lot of people online who don't.

Respect brock Party.

I think that he's a product of the system, product of Shanahan, and because he was a seventh round pick.

There must be some sort of flaw.

Truth matter is brock Party can be the guy that gets the Niners over the hump this season, and it might all start this weekend against Spagnola, who obviously respects him a ton.

I'm looking at.

Purty versus Spags, which is a great matchup in itself, but as an even extra layer because of the respect that the opposing defense ti coordinator has for the quarterback.

Well, first off, I have that's a great share. I have never actually even heard of a defensive coordinator from the opposing team looking for, you know, another quarterback's phone number going through the yellow pages. They don't even have that anymore to get that number. No, Like, I couldn't imagine, you know, being a player and getting that type of text from an me going is he trying to mind trick me or is he really.

Showing me respect?

I think watching that it's clear that he has a certain level of respect for you know, for Brock Purty. You know, when you watch this game, this is they've got so many different interesting matchups with the defense going up against another good offense on both sides of the ball. I think it's going to come down to how, you know, the Chiefs handle adversity. It just seems like this entire season they haven't been playing at the highest level that we.

Know that they're capable of. And I start thinking of like, are they.

Manufacturing adversity so later down the season they can put themselves in situation and know how to get out of it. But the offense, I think, and defensively, they've just been winning. They've been inking.

Out those ws.

So I look at this and I go, you know, the forty nine ers they're gonna bring everything they have because they haven't won a game against the Chiefs since the Obama administration. That's going all the way back to twenty fourteen. So it's a big deal for the forty nine ers.

Yeah, what's ultimately going to decide this game for me is exactly what Kyle Shanahan said is can they avoid the noise. There's a lot of a noise around this game, whether it be history, whether it be who's a favorite, who's the underdog in this game? Let me tell you something. I know that the Chiefs are probably the underdog. They said in this cast a little bit or something or something crazy like that. Yeah, let me let me tell you about something about the Chiefs. Okay, they're not worried about the noise. That's one thing I know for sure. They don't care whether they're the favorites, whether they're the underdog. They don't care where they're at on the part rankings. They don't care how many times you put Taylor Swift on that Joe Matron. They really don't care. All they care about is winning. Winners focus on winning. Losers, focus on the winners. That's all they do. You don't play and far out of the fire passed super Bowls and win three of them if you're worried about all the noise outside of the football game. So what's gonna ultimately decide this game is how which team handles the noise better than others? And you know in past history the Chiefs have done that very bearable and I expect them to do so again this week.

What was your life advice?

Peter?

Find someone who respects you and like your wife and appreciate it and appreciates you. There's a lot of that going on right now. And everybody's lives one way or another. And I like the Spags thing. Look who's the game that it come down to. It might just come down to who has Patrick Mahomes on their team. Like we can do the brock party thing all day long. It's very interesting. We have the Chiefs off the by five and oh, little bit healthier, a little bit hungrier. This is when the Andy Reid teams start to take a turn. I thought the Chief's going to start the season maybe three and two, like, you know, maybe they're not that great. They're a little banged up five and oh into the by. Andy Reid has never lost to Kyle Shanahan Super Bowls aside, it just hasn't happened the Niners. They're not a great team right now, especially on defense. You expect them to close the deal all the time.

They don't.

As Peter knows recently had become an expert on forty nine or special teams for inside reasons. And if someone are watching this game, Mikoel Hartman returning kicks for the Chiefs The Niners have been beat up by kick returns. They gave up one to Leviscus Channault last week. They've had kickers injured trying to make tackles. If your kicks are getting injured trying to make tackles on kickoff coverage, something is not going well. It just speaks to what's with this Niners team lately. I like Purdy and everything, but like they're just not quite there yet. The record says it all. The defense doesn't look like one of those great defenses. Perdy's been good, but he's also had some sloppy games. There's still no McCaffrey. It's still the greatest mystery on the face of the earth. Every single person in the world who claims the no information knows nothing. Still we're still not going to see him, and they're off because of it. I actually worry about this game. I worry that this game could get it out of hand for the Chiefs, and I really mean that. I think they're going to be fresh, determined, completely fearless against someone they always bully, and I just hope the Niners have the firepower.

Peter. Here's the NFL.

It's twenty twenty four it's week seven, It's the game of the week. When Fox put their list to the NFL schedule makers and Mike North and Annie Bo's and Charlotte Carey, when they sent that list to them and they said, here's the order of the games that we want, which is what they do. The number one game was Chief's forty nine ers. This was circled as the game of the Do you know who the starting running backs for this.

Game are likely going to be? Ma Reem Hunt and.

Isaac Gorendo talk about that is that is how this goes.

This is how it is.

Isaac Gorendo comes in because Jordan Mason's out and obviously McCaffrey's out, so you have a rookie and Isaac Gorendo who might be the difference between the two.

Super Bowl participating teams from a year.

I don't want to see Isaac Grendo.

I want to see McCaffrey.

I'm sorry, I don't want to see Micher. Wait for the rematch in February. I'm sorry, I.

Don't want to wait for that.

Peter, even if it happens.

Right, That's exactly what I had on my can go card. Peter that b would be their running back for being seven.

Yeah, I had it.

A job, America.

See you this weekend, guys, enjoy this game.

That is a trigger term for I had to add for you, but speaking thank you, speaking of it though, both sides just have a bountiful a long list of injuries. We welcome in now our NFL insider Ian Rapaport, take a cult from luck some of the injuries plaguing both of these teams. Ian, great to see you on this Friday, but a couple eyes that we're keeping on for injuries, starting with, as Peter mentioned, forty nine Ers running back Jordan Mason and where can you tell us?

Well, I can tell you that Kyle's right.

We are not going to see Christian McCaffrey this week. We will see when he's actually going to be there, likely after the bye, likely in November, possibly early November. But Jordan Mason's status is up in the air for the forty nine Ers this week. Still don't want that ac joint sprain in the short of the fact that he's been out of practice every day is at least a good sign it was not slated to be a major injury. Generally, when you have an ac joint sprain, you have ten days or so to get ready.

You are able to play.

But we will see what his status is during today's practice, whether or not he's able to wear a full contact jersey. Deebo Samuel left the game last week without anyone really knowing that he had an injury, was shaking his wrist out but seemed fine. He actually has been limited this week with that same rist injury. Again, the fact that he has been limited out of practice every day is a good sign. Potentially this is something that he is able to deal with in the game of more information coming. And then Juwan Jennings really one of the more underrated receivers in the NFL, someone who has emerged as a key target for the forty nine ers. He is not trending in the right direction to be able to play. He has missed the last two practices with a hip injury. If the forty nine ers do not have him, going to find someone else to hit on third downs and key downs. Jenning really has been excellent for the San Francisco forty nine ers. And then the Chiefs we know dealt with a lot of injuries early on, seemed to be heading in the right direction there, and then Juju Smith Schuster, who of course they signed right before the season for the Patriots offense, decided he was not.

Good enough for them.

He has been important for the Chiefs. He popped up with the injured port yesterday with a hamstring a limited participate. Generally, that is a bad sign. You get a hamstring injury during the middle week. Being able to play just a couple of days later not great. But more information as it comes on Juju in casey.

This is the tightest this group has been.

At the beginning.

Our head coach rock now gamball.

Jets had absolutely no answer to his defense. Right now, he's gonna throw it.

Back to Croning, do contact and front of the house.

Seven un.

All right, it is Friday, so it is time to play a little game of mad Minute. We're gonna put sixty seconds on the clock. You guys each get a comment, but there are four of you, so let's try to be nice and allow some other time for other hosts. As you just saw in that video, we are hyping up that matchup between the Vikings and the Lions. Vikings still undefeated in their division as they take on Detroit Peter.

I'm going to start with you.

The flora is yours. Tell us what excite you the most in this one.

I don't think it's been a better offensive coordinator over the last few weeks than Ben Johnson, and he showed it last week against Dallas where he had no problem emptying the bag in the fourth quarter of a blowout, throwing the ball to offensive lineman, doing hook and laterals to offensive linemen.

And then on the other end you've got.

Brian Flores, who has been all world as a defensive coordinator. Really cool chess match here. I'm looking at the coaches and their game plans. I think it's going to be great from both sides. Someone has to win.

I listen, I'm looking at someone has to play some defense too. Lions lead the league in points.

They are the number one offense in the NFL, and if you pull up the key quarterback statistics, I won't bore you with them. Jared Goffer of the last three games has done something no one has ever done since the merger. My favorite phrase in football since the merger, no one's really ever had a hot hand like Jared Goff does. Right now, Vikings have to have some stops.

This is the game of the week.

I think this is going to come down to you know, which team is going to be able to handle pressure and pressure I mean, I know for Jared Golf, he's going to get all that pressure from Brian Flores and then Sam Donald. I don't think he's ever playing the game this big.

Yeah, stop the run. If you're the Vikings, you got to stop that run because all of the other stuff predicates off of the run. So stuff the run.

Stopped the run that exactly hit all the buzzer. Sim Darnold won five plus consecutive games for the first time in his career. Will he stay hot? But heading to the atl where Kirk Cousins and the Falcons they play hosts to the Seahawks, who have lost their last three games in a row. Kyle whatsons out to you in this one.

Yeah, the Seahawks are like the Pacific Northwest Saints, Like they started really well and then everything's just falling apart. I don't like this matchup for them. I think Atlanta runs the hell out of the ball. We're gonna have Tyler lgr on the show later between he and Beijon. Atlanta is playing really hard and taking on the personality of their head coach. Right now, I like Atlanta in this game. What do you got our bar?

You're right because you look at this Seattle's defense. They're giving up I mean, one hundred and forty four yards a game. Bijon's don't go off. Algia is gonna go off. I really like this game. I'm gonna give you some more time though, man time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Give me more time and give Kenneth Walker the ball more. That's that's what you gotta do. Through you the Seattle Seahawks. Take that pressure off of Gino. Like Gino's feeling a lot of pressure, he makes a lot of bad decisions when he feels that pressure. Take some pressure off, Give the ball to Kenneth Walker, let him do his thing.

I would say, DK Metcalf.

I'm gonna keep an eye on because the last time we saw him he was put on a headset and screaming at the effective coordinator on the sidelines of that Thursday night loss. Look, it's been a long ten days up until the kickoffs. Because they lost on a Thursday night. Seattle should not I ain't egging this one. They should come down there being ready to play, and after three straight losses, I would feel like this is kind of the season in the balance. Are you a real team or are you a pretender? We'll see this weekend.

And as good as Mike McDonald had that defense looking early on in the season, you gotta imagine put a little fire under those guys behind now looking at Eagles Saquon Barkley heading back to that life to play his former team, the New York Football Giants, akbar, how off do you Seekuon gonna go in this game?

You know we can all talk about Saquon. I'm gonna pump that off to some of the other guys to talk about Saquon. I want to see this offense for the Philadelphia Eagles kind of click and dial in with the wide receivers. I want to see you hitting Smith and I want to see you hitting Brown down the field. I want to see hrs. I want to see this offense compete and flow on a more consistent level outside of just the run game of Saquon.

Man.

I miss Mylik neighbors. I think we all miss Melik neighbors, and I don't think anybody misses Milik as more than Danny Dimes. Like, when Malik is in there, the New York Giants just look like a totally different team. So let's get Milik Malik in there and let him, let him do some magic.

He's by.

You know, it's going to be hyped as the Saquon revenge game, and we could talk about all that we've done that. I do think both these fan bases are very very concerned about their teams right now, and for different reasons. The Giants they can't score at home, they can't win at home. Meanwhile, the Eagles, whatever that was with Sirianni last week, like what's the response? That was maybe the worst possible way to win a game, and especially the fan reaction afterwards in the media reaction, it was as if they lost the game and now they've got to go into New York, which is not a friendly environment.

It takes some time, So guys, a minute. The segment's called mad minute. Yeah, it is sixty seconds. If we have four prescribed responses, sixty divided by four is fifteen fifteen, So we want to be at forty five thirty and fifteen remaining.

Let's see what we can do on this.

One's shrety.

Come on, let's go right.

This isn't to come to you first, to make sure you have as much time as you want. Plus the fifteen All right, Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins willing to turn things around when they had to Indy to take on the Colts, said Kyle, all you on this one.

Well, when you think about the Dolphins and the Colts, just so many great things come to mind. First you go to history. I mean, some fantastic players when you see those Don Sula, all kind of you know, Manning Marino, all these old rivalries, but what really comes to them?

I go ahead of Bar just.

Oh well, okay.

Well, first of all, I don't even know how to come back from that, but I do know that the Miami Dolphins have been horrible with them out of time, Mac.

Bar go.

Fifteen seconds, let's go.

Okay, you got Michael Pittman, Adenni, Mitchell, Jonathan Taylor. But the main guy for me is going to be Josh Downs. That's that's that's my guys guy, And I'm up right now.

Go ahead, Peter, Oh, Peter, Peter, get in there.

I just I mean Flacco has been winning games. Slack has been throwing the ball.

Well but everything I'm here, and it's like Richardson's the guy. That's a really fascinating situation. And it's one of those where it's Indian Appensis.

Three three to win.

There right in the thick of this thing. Do you really go back to the young quarterback or do you ride the hot hand? This is the stuff that decides seasons, and it looks like they might go back to the young quarterback Lack.

We almost, I mean, Faco magic, we almost made that whole sixty seconds work. Let's try again, shall we? Titans coming limping into Buffalo. The Bills are standing right at four and two after beating Rogers in the Jets. You remember back on Monday Night football, Manti for you, what is on your mind when you look at these two?

What's on my mind is, how does Amari Cooper affect this offense? Like, how does he affect Kate? How does he affect Collucial career? How does he affect Cooks.

In the run game?

Just to see that dynamic kind of play out itself. I'm looking forward to that.

Yeah, Tennessee, is your season?

You know, Will Levis, we put you in that same group with Caleb and with and with Bryce Young and all those young quarterbacks you were grouped in there. Caleb, it's going great. Bryce Hunger is not Will Levis, it's not going well. And Mason Rudolph played on that Monday night game and played better than Will Levis. So to go into Buffalo and get a win would be huge. But I don't have a ton of confidence that it's suddenly gonna snap and work like this, especially with Calvin Ridley being so disappointed last week with his action.

Don't you think DeAndre Hopkins just sits there and looks across the field and he looks at Amari Cooper and what's wrong with me? He said yesterday. I'm something about it. I'm where god in tends bing to b which is a beautiful sentiment. It's got to be tough for him to look across the field. The Titans are not good.

Yeah, Buffalo coming off that big Monday night football win. All I got to say is Ray Davis. He didn't get a lot of love. So I'm just gonna take up this time to keep saying his name. Ray Davis. That dude the bow out of Kentucky. I don't care if the Buzzer went all I want that dude to get his love.

I'm telling you right.

Now, Ray Davis is gonna run for a whole bunch of yards.

He's right, yeah, and tells me Josh Allen's one hundredth career start in week seven. How about that for a milestone? All right, guys, last one for mad minute. The five and one Texans come into Lambeau facing the four and two Packers.

This should be a good one. Peter, tell me what standing out.

When you look at him?

Any other week. This is the game of the week. Literally, any other week, this is the game of the week. It's almost like the fourth one on the sleigh. This is It's like a really good boxing card, and this is like the early undercard Houston Green Bay.

I look at the quarterbacks. We've got two great.

Quarterbacks who are both understated, and they're not looking at me.

Guys.

There are two players and markets that aren't necessarily New York and La and Dallas. I think Love and Stroud. This is awesome and guess what it could be a Super Bowl preview?

Yah, who do you take if you get one of these quarterbacks moving forward for your franchise?

Who do you want, who do you want?

I think I would probably take Stroud is a little younger, and I just think he's slightly more talented.

But this is luxury stuff. I love this get in here.

Yeah, it's going to come down to the defenses on both sides being able to rattle these two superstar quarterbacks.

And that's what is going to come down to me.

Defense bringing pressure, getting these guys to play out of character.

Well, the Houston Texans are ranked number one and QB pressure. So if there's anybody that can handle that's going to be Jordan Love. And you know he's a little older, but he's still this is only his second year in the NFL. So you're going against two of the best quarterbacks in the league right now, and then it's going to be an exciting one.

Then coach Nak o' ryan's looking forward to taking on Jordan Love in that game. Great work, guys, I think for the most part, I'd say that was success that we hit the sixty second mark.

All Right, we're excited about our next guest here on GMFB. He is a former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver. He's also a die hard Yankees fan and lets everyone know about it, including mister Mahomes, mister Kelsey.

Let's welcome in.

Gerreg Dieter.

How you doing all right?

It's good. Look.

I know last night you were probably watching your beloved Yankees, and it might not be the best morning for the Bronx Bombers fans.

But I'll just say that's just one game.

Walk off, walk off, playoff, plall man, playoff.

You can't you can't get a.

Better game than last night, back and forth, late innings. Let's just hope they bounce back tonight or I'm going to have a long weekend.

All right.

So your name is Gerrig Dieter. We've done the research. You've were named after Lou Garrig, but you might have hit a lot of mainstream streams a couple of weeks ago. When we're watching the Homes owner of the Royals in the booth and as the Royals get going and they're having success against the Yankees, here he is taunting, taunting. Then there's a dude in the Yankees jersey in Patrick's box. This is your former teammate with the Kansas City Chiefs. You guys obviously came into the league together. Take us through this moment here as you roll up into his box wearing Yankees gear and then have him in your face, and I don't know who got the last laugh there?

You tell us, yeah, I mean he got.

He got pretty hype after one run, so that was I think they went up, they went down to one. At that point, everybody, the whole section in front of us turned around screaming at me.

So it was a hostile environment for myself.

But the Stars, the Stars alignment, we've been waiting for a Yankees playoff series in Kin City, and thankfully it happened. Obviously it didn't go the Royals way, but it was so much fun seeing the k in that atmosphere. Have been there for plenty of Yankees games, so seeing that energy, and then obviously I got to always rep the boys, always rep for the Yanks, die hard, like you guys said, and uh yeah, Me and Patries kind of go back and forth. It's it's like that through text, and I'm glad I coulna kind of show everybody what it is.

He was more hyped for one Royals run than he was for his last Super Bowl.

It was crazy.

Way into that, dude, and you said, listen, there's the there's the third man in like in pro wrestling. Because Mahomes was actually asked about this whole thing on Wednesday and he's like, all right, well, now Trav has to tap in the Ohio guy because the Yankees are taking on Cleveland.

Take a listen to this gag. Listen.

He actually wasn't that bad.

I probably was worse.

I was the leader in that situation, so you know he uh, he's a big Yankees fan obviously, and he's super excited. And now he used to talk trash to Travis, so I passed that along the trash he got there trade. You can't you can't give him a little slither of opening. And Travis told us that he was going to the game, and all of a sudden, I looked the leaders flying to New York. So it's uh, it's uh, I can't give him an opening, no, but he Uh it's cool to for him to get to do it. I mean, I'm not like a Yankees hater, but sometimes I don't want the Yankees to win because of him, Like he's made me not not want the Yankee but I like the guys on the team, so it's uh, I'm just watching as a fan now, which is cool.

See, Mahomes is like the nicest dude ever, and he's literally saying I don't want them to win because of him.

He's talking about you.

You're right in the middle of this thing, bro, and then me meanwhile, the India or the Guardians rather walk off last night, have you heard from Kelsey?

What do you think about mahomes remarks? Just give us the whole state of the nation.

Yeah, I mean, it's a it's an unfortunate situation. These guys.

These guys are big time haters. Obviously, I'm just a fan. I'm just a fan, So I'd just like to have fun. I like to talk a little bit. And uh, it's it's unfortunate that the Yanks had to do what they had to do to the Royals and now they're going to do what they have to do to the Cleveland Guardians. And then yeah, last night, obviously games going back and forth, they're down. I just had a feeling that they're going to go on a little run when Class A came in the game.

So I'm getting the phone ready, phone ready to FaceTime.

Trap Judge hits his bomb, I'm calling them, and then Stanton hit hits bomb. I'm going crazy in my house. Uh, and then I'm trying to put my daughter to sleep. It's like eight fifteen thirty.

I'm feeling good.

The Yanks are up, and then all of a sudden, I look up. It's it's it's tie game and then the guards hit all walk off. He's calling me, he's facetiming me, talking trash.

I'm not feeling good.

I got my whole wife's whole wife's family texting me all these memes with me crying in them.

So it's not I'm finding a lot of battles out here for the Yanks right now.

Oh man, Well, let me just set it for Let me just tell you. I'm a Dodgers fan.

So if you guys happen to make it to the World Series, because you know we're going to go. If you guys happen, trust me, I'll find somebody get your and I'm gonna send you a bunch of means as well. But you actually went to the game earlier this week with Travis and Taylor, So how was that experience? And you know, looking out on social and seeing Gigi, I mean, you know she's going back and telling all her friends.

How was that experience?

It was awesome. We we've gone to a lot of playoff games and previous years together. Yeah, there's there's Jeeves, so.

With the we've done a lot of playoff games in the past. Yankees Red Sox. We went to Yankees Guardians a couple of years ago, but it got rained out. So this is the first time actually got to go to Yankee Stadium to watch a game in the new Yankee Stadium. So shout out to Travis for allowing me to come. And yeah, anytime you can do anything with those guys. One, it's very easy. You get to the game, you get escorted in, it's nice. It's very nice. And then Geez was a little bit afraid of the noise, so I had to kind of play play my dad mode and fan mode.

Watching the game and staying in the suite.

She didn't want to go outside, so kind of playing both, playing both roles. But yeah, there's nobody better than Travis and Pat. They're both the nicest guys in the world.

Uh.

They allowed me to come and just have fun, which I obviously enjoy and shot up to my wife for letting me go out.

We have.

You said something I just want you to follow up on that.

You said escort. It now is just like police escort all the way into the stadium and then just like you're on the team bus like that type of level just to get to a Yankees game.

No, no, no, no, no, I mean I met them there and then after that, with just the stardom that that Taylor has, obviously she's gonna get a little bit of a different treatment. So just getting escored up to the suite through the bottom of the stadium, Yeah, I mean, it's it's no different from a football I mean, if you're playing football, it's coming in the backway, going through the loading dock type thing. Yeah, it's all it's all the same stuff. But yeah, it's it's quite a spectacle. She's obviously is what she is, and there's nobody bigger in the world.

Yeah, you talked about, you know how cool Travis and and Patrick is. But we all seen the greatness of Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes on the field.

But what was it like playing with them and being in that locker room with them?

Yeah, I mean I keep saying that there's no better two teammates that you want. Guys that care about you on and off the field. I think that's what makes them special is is how much they care about their teammates off the field. You always see Pat and Kelsey just doing different things in Kansas City with those guys. So that's one thing I always valued of those guys was they actually care about you. They're interested in what you are off the field as much as they are on the field. And then on the field, they are what they are. I mean, they're the two best best players in the league, and they work hard, they love football, They're very passionate, and they're just great leaders. I mean, nobody, nobody wants to win more than those guys. Nobody cares what it looks like. They just want to win games. And I think that's what you're.

Seeing this year.

I'm looking at the lineup and the rosters here. I gotta admit to you, it's not fair that as a Yankees fan you have Soto, Judging and Stanton and they all bat just one after another. It's kind of like the Chiefs, righty, if Kelsey mahomes their lineup and.

They're so undefeated.

But they have a Super Bowl.

Rematch this week against the forty nine ers, what stands out to you as these two get together again.

I think Chiefs defense. I mean, you've seen what they've done all year. Coach bags Is I mean, he's an all time coach. He's on track to be a Hall of Famer. I hope he gets another shot to be a head coach. But what he's done this year with the defense, it's pretty remarkable. So it's obviously a big time matchup rematch of the Super Bowl Chiefs undefeated. Chiefs are obviously going through a bunch of injuries on offense with the receiving corps, but coach Reied just finds a way to plug guys in and no matter who it is, they perform at a high level. So shout out to coach Reid and shout out obviously to Pat Nothing. They're not going to go anywhere without that guy not on the field. So as long as he's on the field, you got to feel pretty good about the Chiefs.

Yeah, you got to indulge just a little bit here. I love Do you have a daughter or several of us on the show have a daughter. If I go home today and tell my daughter that I spoke to someone who was in the same room, as Taylor Swift, she will scream and jump up and down. So give us a little something like about meeting her, what she like in exchange? You had just give us a little bit of it so we can go home to our daughters and sons in Telligon.

What do you guy?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, so Gigi's only three years old, so she really doesn't really know who Taylor Swift is. She kind of thought she just worked at the stadium, which is hilarious. Yeah, she's I mean, she's as nice as it gets. She's very normal talking to her. I've had a few interactions with her. I'm not going to see her act like I'm best friends with her, but she's very nice to me. She remembers me, so, I mean that's as somebody that big of a star to remember your name to me. That's kind of speaks volumes to it. So she's a great, great person. And I'm happy for Kelsey. He's obviously very happy and doing well in life right now.

I love it.

Hey, Grek, we so appreciate you. You're doing again. Your dad named you Gereg after the great lou Greg. You're wearing the Yankees gear, and yet I'm looking at this thing. If I know this sounds like you don't count your chickens for the hatch. Like if the Yankees were to go on Mets Subway series Dodgers Yankees LA, Like, what would be the better series for a Yankee fan?

I feel like Subway series will be a lot of fun. But I mean, you can't go you can't go away from Otani and the Dodgers this year.

I think.

As a baseball fan, you want you want the two best players playing each other in the biggest.

Stage, and that's Judge and Otani.

Uh.

And obviously the Dodgers are handling business, need the Yanks to figure it out tonight.

But for me, that would be the most fun. I think Dodgers Yanks.

I think the Mets kind of have gotten lucky in the past couple of playoff series, was coming back late in games.

So Dodgers are handling business, putting them down when.

They need to.

And I think Yanks Dodgers would be like, we're here it, we love it.

Max Muncy, are you listening, Gary Peters, got you, Let's go, dude, Thank you for joining the show. Awesome working, Good luck Yankees. Vonts Bomber's play again this weekend.

Thanks dude,
