Good Morning Football inching closer to the weekend.

This is Good Morning Football presented by best Buy. I'm Jamie art All. This is Akbar Baja Biamilla.

That is Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt in New York City. This is Isaiah standback here in studio with us in Los Angeles. We are entering the final weekend of pre season. Isaiah, were you ever one of these guys that was fighting tooth and nail for a roster spot entering.

This game every single year?

Jay?

Okay, so it's important, it matters.

We are blowing past the headline that starters didn't play starters and start doesn't matter because there are guys trying to make the fifty three man roster.

Two games were played last night. Our lead block is highlights from the games.

Kyle, let's do it, coach Bengals.

I'm going to show you two guys were not fighting to make the roster. First, although one of them is really unhappy with his contract, they just sat around and watched Alt Michael's on the call, says Anthony Richardson. He looks like a linebacker, and he does, but he threw like.

A quarterback on this first drive.

You remember, there was a story where the.

Bengals were talking a lot of trash and the joint practice saying does he ever throw?

All he does is run.

It was all documented, and then he throws a touchdown over the middle. But as it has often been with Anthony Richardson, he gets you very excited and you're like, all right, he's a crazy athletes. Uh, that's a pick six. Jordan Battle wins that one. We have not seen Richardson for months and months and months and again kind of a turbulent preseason.

It's this guy ever gonna settle on which guy he is?

We'll find out maybe week one. But that's not what you want to see. A hashtag up and down night. That's how the Colts Ryder had it up and down for Anthony richards which was true.

Let's see if we can stay up here we go.

Here's how you get up exciting one.

Neither of those guys played.

That's the face of the league standing Nesta, Patrick Mahoe, Tyson Bja Here we go. Bears went four to oh in the preseason. If you care lots to digest there, though.

Jamie Kyle we always care Mahomes in that celebration looked like he was saying, that guy not my team. And if that's enough to push him onto the fifty three man roster, then so be it.

These two teams that played.

Last night on NFL Network are pretty much representative of the sliding scale of the way the season ended last year, which is the Bears preparing for the number one overall pick and then the Chiefs winning a Super Bowl.

So let's look at them after their.

Game last night, Chiefs completing a three peat, Bears making a playoffs with their number one overall pick in Caleb Williams, Peter, there's a lot of wiggle room in this sliding scale.

What direction do you take us?

First, it's really hard to resist watching hard knocks and watch the preseason games and not just saying, well, the Bears are gonna go Super Bowls like it has been a.

Bears commercial all summer long.

I have to install restraint here though, because there are questions with the Bears. This is a first year quarterback with a coordinator he's never worked before, obviously, who is now installing an entirely new offense with a bunch of new guys, and there's all this different stuff.

You can talk about the Bears, the Chiefs.

The Chiefs played their starters in preseason last week and they walked right up and.

Down the field.

And the Chiefs seem to just be keeping finding new and new guys every single year. Could we talk about Carson Steele who was at Ball State and then transferred over to UCLA and now it's an undrafted rookie free agent for the Kansas City.

Chiefs and is going to make this team.

Kyle's absolutely right.

He might be spelling Pachko as the number two running back and not just as a fullback.

He carries the rock and he does a fine job.

And look, it's one thing to just have like carries in the third preseason game. It's a nothing to do at all preseason. Which he did then is to get the attention of Mahomes. Look at Patrick Mahomes here on the sidelines, so excited. I'd like to go back to the footage and not come back to me because you.

Got to see Mahomes.

Mahomes is flexing and he's going all out, and it's like, where.

Do they find these guys, good question. How did Kansas City get this guy? It's almost like every other year. It's like where.

Pachaco's a seventh rounder, Trey Smith is a sixth rounder.

Josh Williams is gonna play a lot of corner.

Day three guy Leo Chanal is gonna be one of their stars on defense. Day three guy Justin Ross is probably gonna have a role in the offense this year, and he's been waiting.

Day three guy.

And now Carson Steele undrafted, And I love how engaged Mahomes is. Mahomes could be just there, sit on the sideline talking to his wife, going to the sidelight. Mahomes is out there flexing. I love the Bears, love what they did this offseason. I don't know what's gonna happen. They're in a really tough division and there's a lot of rocky roads ahead for a rookie quarterback. Mahomes and the Chiefs not just those guys, they find new players.

Carson Steele, welcome to the squad.

Yeah yeah, I mean to me, it's just real simple. I mean, the Chiefs are the team like lead. To make it to the Super Bowl, you got to have a lot of faith in the Chicago Bears. Like this division that you were just talking about, Peter, I mean, it's one that you have to really look at. The Detroit Lions. They ain't messing around. I mean, this is a really good team. The Green Bay Packers, They're a very good team. And then you've got the question marks too. You said there were some questions, Well, what are those questions? First off, will Caleb Williams be able to last seventeen weeks? Like I mean, remember, he's a rookie, and I get it, he had the nil money and all this. He's rich, he's famous, hard knocks, but seventeen weeks ain't that ain't nothing to play around with. He will hit that proverbial rookie wall maybe somewhere around twelve weeks into the season, and you start thinking, uh, oh, you know, the dating scene is over right, all that lust and glitter and all that stuff is over. What about old man Keenan Allen? I mean, can he stay healthy throughout the entire season? Those are some of the questions that I'm going to be looking at that the supporting cast around Caleb, and he's going to be able to keep that production up?

Sure, Yes, this is is this short and simple. Okay, the Bears are stacked. Okay, they got Caleb Williams, they got more, they got Swift, they got Allen, they got all these weapons. However, the one thing that they cannot change is the division that they're in. They got Green Bay in there and they have Detroit Lions. When you got both of those dogs in there that you know are going to be in the playoffs, it's very rare that you get three teams from one division to go into the playoffs. On the flip side, Ken City Chiefs, we already know who they are. As long as they have Patrick Mahomes, Kelsey and Andy Reid, those guys.

Are going to be stuper Bowl champions.

In simple they own real estate already in their division.

Tyle, I know as fast as fast as they feel worthy, you're like that, you.

Spread it through that, all right?

So Chiefs win the Super Bowl or Bears just get to a wildcard game. I'm going with the Bears get to a wildcard game before everybody dumps on the Bears. The last year Bears, last year on the Justin Fields won seven games. Okay, they also smoked the Lions in a game that was knocking competitive from start to finish. They finished the season five and three. That roster is so good and that defense is so good. It's just like if Caleb Williams is pretty good, I don't even know it needs CJ strad last year. I think they can get to nine wins and get into the wild Card, and maybe even ten wins if he's fantastic. Sure, then you want to talk about twelve whatever. That's not even what this conversation is about. And I do think there will be three playoff teams from the NFC North. I think they're all very, very good. But the defense is going to carry this team early when Caleb is adapting, and then it's a buffet that many things on the plate that the offense has to be good. I think it's a little bit. We're very exciting. We like to see history, and we'd love to see the Chiefs go three in a row. We've talked in great detail Peter on the show about there are seminal iconic teams that keep their roster, keep their coaches, and they just can't do it. There is a reason in nearly sixty years that it hasn't happened in the Super Bowl era. I think, listen, the Chiefs get to the title Game this year and lose, even get to the Super Bowl and lose, it's an amazing season. I think more likely the Bears tack on a couple more wins just to get to the wild Card than the Chiefs actually finished at three peg.

Trying to think of a recent team that has a first overall pick and added all these coaches and.

It's like right out of the gates.

Do you foresee some rocky roads early and that they could be able to just get over that?

Or is this like, hey, seven teams in the NFC make it, they're one of those seventeen.

I think let's find a way.

I look at like the twenty sixteen Cowboys and it's Dak and Zeke, and it's Jason Garrett who had been there but we weren't so sure about him, and he's kind of an ebra flus and they just had so much talent that they just took the league by storm. Now they got to the playoffs, and maybe the Bears will. I don't know if there's gonna be the one seed, but like, I think they'll have that type of deal.

And Dak wasn't even the first overall pick, not even close.

I just think that would be the confidence in modern history like that, Kyle.

It's interesting when you look at the Bears, They're build up the history of this team. Some people may have looked at this hard knocks and thought between the teaser and the bump in and stuff like, this is a hard nose team. You have said, No, this team can go in a new direction. They have a rookie first overall pick quarterback. Are you feeling more comfortable with the personality that this team is just playing from getting to know Matt Eberflus a little bit better on hard knocks all the way down to just watching this team grow into their own Well, listen.

The Eberflus question is big, and I know even people who are really really involved with the Bears are like, the roster's amazing, We'll see what Flus is made of. And it's I think there's some coaches around the league like that. This year, a lot of conversation about Robert Sala.

There, you know, does he have it?

But I would say this, We're about to end the preseason and there's a federal mandate to talk about this every single year. The Bears went four and ohero in the preseason.

The Chiefs went zero three.

The Lions team that won undefeated fifteen years ago was undefeated in the preseason. The Browns and the Browns the eighteen and o Patriots that almost what they had a perfect season, lost every preseason game.

So Ocbar and Isaiah, is.

There any correlation because the Chiefs just lost them all and the Bears just won them all. So should we just take anything from that?

No, there's so many different variables that goes into that. But I will say, and I don't want to you know, I know you're a fan, and you know you're satis.

Go ahead.

I have seen this and I love it. Let me just say this.

I love the Chicago Bears and what they've assembled in hard knocks.

I've fallen in love. I'm a sucker.

But I have seen before where they've assembled, not the Bears, but teams have assembled big names. The acquisitions are so huge, you might, yo, this is the dream team. We're looking at the Olympics dream team, and then what shows up during the season is something totally different, and then the analysis start to slowly start to change. So I'm just saying to all those fans out there that are you know, they own that smoke right now, that Bear's smoke.

I know it's good. You guys got it rolled up real tight.

But I'm saying, please just temper your expectation.

Yeah, I was just letting that evaporate for a second. Isaiah, you were taking your head a little bit during that, like you don't want to buy You want to allow the Bears maybe some wiggle room to grow into.

You got to give him little wigle wiggle with.

The reason why is because whenever you stack a roster up like this and you have a quarterback that's coming in as a rookie, there's a lot of expectations already as being the number one pick overall, and then you throw in the fact that you stack his roster up to ensure that he has success. You couple that with a new coach and them trying to figure it out. Oh and by the way, there it just happens to be a bunch of personalities on that team that are used to be the number one targets and trying to make sure that they're all happy. There's going to be some bumps in the road. We don't know exactly how that's going to pan out.

But I guess what we're all watching.

Speaking of roster stacking, have you seen Carson Steel play for the Kansas City Chiefs preseason actions Gods on tonight.

I'm not I wasn't laughing. He has a pet Crocodile and Krockey.

I think we have a double header beginning at seven pm Eastern.

It's the Jags taking on the Falcons. That's one to watch.

Tonight's doubleheader preseason recap moves on.

I don't know what that word was. Then the nightcap, that's what it was.

You'll get a final look at the forty nine Ers and Raiders at ten pm Easter.

Oh, this is what it is.

Doubleheader stream the games on NFL Plus. I knew there were two games and you can see them all on the Plus, which I know you have because I've been telling you ad nauseum to get it. On Wednesday of this week, Peter revealed ten through six of his breakout players. Peter, dare you go? Five, four, three, two one?

Today's the day, Jamie, we're going to say who's number one.

It's an annual tradition.

Number one on my breakout player list. A week before the start of the regular season. Let's go hang tight white smoke out of the chimney here in New York.

Peter's number one player is coming.

Justin Fields is going to play Saturday night. He's trying to win the job. He thinks he's done enough. Is Russell Wilson going to win the shop? And by the way, guys, I didn't say the Bears are going to go to the Super Bowl. I said they'd be nine and eight. Yeah, still be bumps in the road. I'm not saying they're going to run the table. Where do we stand on this? I know we've talked about this seven thousand times, but the Steelers still haven't decided about it.

So we're going to talk about it again. Field Russell, who wins this job? Good morn football?

All right, we're back on GMFB. Say for buying or keep trying. I'll sell you something here isaiyah Okay, I'm gonna put a statement out or buy and do it. Tell me to keep it moving, come up with a different sales pitch. All right, We're gonna start things out for the Steelers, who square off against the Lions Saturday at one pm Eastern Right here.

On NFL Network.

It's a quarterback battle that we cannot escape because it's still undecided Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Field said yesterday that he believes he passed the test the Steelers put in front of him to be the new number one by saying, quote, I've shown what I can do, but at the end of the day, it's not up to me. So let's help out the Steelers coaching staff, shall we?

One statement? Are we buying Justin Fields being QB one? In Pittsburgh Isaiah.

In the words of Old Otis on an episode of Martin keep it Moving, Yoko Ono, not going with this one whatsoever.

Listen up. I know that you're talented.

I know that you have had a good preseason, but you just don't have the body of work.

I'm going to help you out a little bit. You in your three year career.

You've had forty touchdowns, thirty interceptions, eighty two point three average QB rating. Now the dude that you're competing with Russell Wilson, somebody we know the name a little bit. Twelve year career, three hundred and thirty four touchdowns, one hundred and six interceptions.

And eighty four point four.

Was the worst QB rating that he's had in his entire career. So his absolute worse was your It was better than your average. You have not done enough just yet. Preseason is not going to be enough for you.

Go ahead and let the let the old man take the take the reins.

You follow suit, and.

If something happens, be be right there to be able to take step in and help you.

Isaiah, you just sun him. Yeah, you just sign this. Listen. He's talented, he understands.

He chose to go there, He chose this.

You chose this path. Okay, you wanted to go be behind Russell Wilson. We know that you're competing, but you really said, hey, can I go.

There and learned from learn from the master? Okay.

I look at this preseason for the Steelers and it is such a one to eighty from last year's preseason. If you remember, the Steelers started their starters in all the preseason games last year, and Kenny Pickett was lighting it up, and Najie Harris was looking amazing, and George Pickens did anything he wanted, and it was like Steelers.

Are going to the super Bowl. They look so good.

There's not thirteen preseason drives with Russell Wilson or Justin Fields.

Here's what it's been.

Punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, punt, missfield goal, punt, field goal, turnover un downs, turnover run downs, turnover un downs, turnover run downs. It's been atrocious from both of these guys and any opportunity we've seen them. I say this because I think we started the preseason with Russell Wilson as the number one. He didn't do anything to make his claim that I'm definitely the guy, and then Justin Fields hasn't done it either, So I'm going to say I'm not buying it.

I don't think he.

Didn't enough topple Russell Wilson, but I would not be shocked if Tomlin said, hey, you know what, we're in practice every day and Justin's outplayed Russ and Russell's got a calf injury.

So not buying it.

But I don't think it's crazy if we see Justin Fields early in the season.

Yeah, keep trying. I think that's my answer right there, Keep trying, Justin Fields. I love you.

Good people's never met you, but good people's good try. I love the effort. I love what you did in college. Pit Fann. My kids want your autograph, by the way, but this ain't your time right now, This ain't your time. I think you're gonna have to sit behind that of mister Russell Wilson. But there's another reason. You know, we've talked about it. I don't need to repeat those things. Mike Tomlin, lakwan, real quick, lakwan.

Our research.

Has Mike Tomlin ever had a losing season in his career?

Absolutely? Now? The dude's a winner.

He's a winner.

Okay, So we are talking about pride on the line. This man ain't gonna put a quarterback out there that is going to jeopardize his streak.

This is a streak.

This is Mike Tomlin, this is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm sorry, Russell Wilson has had nine winning seasons in his career. He's not gonna let Mike Tomlin is not gonna let this one slip.

All right.

I love to take I love the strength of it, but I'm definitely buying guys. I know Russell Wilson was on the Seahawks at one point he was really good, like there has been the four years since then, Like He's a computer that has just bound up with with sicknesses and viruses. It doesn't work like it used to. If it did, he wouldn't be in Pittsburgh. If it did, he wouldn't have been in Denver. You know, your computer at your mom's house and you go home, the old gateway that's got you know, roller coaster Tycoon on.

It, like, it doesn't work anymore. It's fine.

We respected we had a lot of great memories on that. We had a lot of projects and school papers that we did on that computer.

It's not working anymore. It's slow, it's bogged down.

The fact that we are talking about Russell Wilson going into the final preseason game to beat a Bear's cast off for the starting job tells you everything you need to know.

This ain't the guy in the super Bowl anymore.

If it was, he would have locked up this job the second he.

Became a Steeler. I think it's a dead heat.

I think they have both not been good, And if I'm Tomlin, I'm like, if neither one of them are showing what I'm going for, I'm going with a guy who's way younger, way more athletic, and way better in the locker room. If the play is a dead heat, I'll go with the reathers and the other stuff. I've said it from the beginning, I'll say it again now justin Fields. I think should and will be the starter Week one for the Steelers.

I'm buying.

Oh okay, I just I have to revisit this. Boy. Man, you went to work Gateway computer.

I'm old enough to remember when Gateweight went out of business. Are you then saying that Russell Wilson is out of business? I mean, there's not a kid out there google it right now. There's not a kid out there right now that can even tell you what a Gateweight computer is. You just told me that Russell Wilson is a Gateway Computer.

If he doesn't win this job, he's a backup for the season. He's probably not a Steeler next year. And then he is Carson Wentz. He's bouncing around on this team, this team, this team. I don't relish this. This is just the facts, guys. Gateway Computer, they had a cowbox, right and it was it was before dude, you're getting it down, and it was a Gateway and your mom had it and it was great, that little workstation with the Wood like it was fantastic.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think i'm.

At the time, the term workstation was like a really technology, technologically profound thing to hey, like I have a work and at the time, Russell Wilson was a workstation for as a quarterback out west. But like, maybe the time has passed and that's okay. We all have fancy your computers now, it's all right.

Wow.

Fanatics Fest is an event that happened over the weekend in New York and it has just been the content gift that keeps on giving. Because Tom Brady has been all over the media lately. We know that, but at fanatics Fest this last weekend, he showed up his basketball stills.

In this video, he was asked when was the last time you dunk? And then he goes, don't ask me to do it now?

Why because you can still do it at the age of forty seven. Come on, man, Some people say age is just a number. So let me ask you this. If Brady were to come out of retirement, yes, the question is starting with that.

It's not just would he be good?

Would you still list him as a top five quarterback in the league, Isaiah, are you buying this or are you telling me he keep trying.

I'm buying this all day long, and not only from the standpoint that this dude was able to jump with those jeans on, but also from the standpoint that I have experienced with this man, and I know that he is a fearless and most relentless competitor that I've ever had had the opportunity to share a room with and play with. On the field, this guy right here is an absolute dog. You see the old school picture right there, that's the throwback. But the last three years of his career, Tom Brady had one hundred and eight touchdowns and thirty three interceptions. The person that we consider to be the greatest player in the league right now at the quarterback position is Patrick Mahomes.

I think everybody agrees on that.

Or Patrick Mahomes last three years, he's had one hundred and five touchdowns and thirty nine interceptions. So in the last bodies of work that they have, in terms of our evidence that we can see, Tom brady stats were better than mister Patrick Mahomes. And I'm not saying he is Patrick Mahomes at this point in time.

In his career.

But if he were to come back, we know that just psychologically alone, and we know how a good shape he's in. He's going to be in that top five conversation.

I mean, it's.

Forty seven, right, and I'm just saying, I'm just saying, and he's taking a full calendar year off from football, so he's not in like football shape.

And his last year in Tampa, he wasn't exactly lighting it up like he was the year.

Before in Tampa.

So I just being realistic here and quite like seeing him dunk at forty I couldn't dunk at seventeen. I couldn't dunk at twenty seven, and I'm six foot three, Like it makes me feel so masculated watching Brady just in like some skinny jeans with Aiden Ross do a dunk at fanatics fests, and like.

Here, I am like, come on.

Dude, say some of it.

But like I don't think I'm insulting Tom Brady and saying, coming off the couch right now in September, to be a top five quarterback, that's asking a lot, and gosh, that is that is so humbling watching him dunk like that as I struggle to get out of bed every morning, got my back aching because I do television.

In a chair every day. I'm believable.

Ready, I was gonna say one thing, and then I looked at that and my eyes caught something, And I agree with you, Peter, he's forty seven. I was gonna say buy in, but I just flipped it. Right now, I just switched it. Keep trying. Your record speaks for itself. I know you got the hands, the rings, all of that. I'm not hating on you. I would never hate on you. Tom Brady. You're the goat. I give it to you. You've done it all. But at forty seven years old, heck no, that's three years away from fifty. I just don't think that that's possible. And here's why you beat the flate gate. You said so in the Netflix special, right, you said so?

You beat it? Right, you guys have the spygate. You beat that.

But can we go back and look at this video because I don't believe, and I've played basketball for a good amount of time.

This isn't a ten foot quarter.

My mother, that's not a ten foot basket, right, because it's a take we are. I'm six ' six, he's six foot four. Or five five ye, So that means the top of my reach. I know the top of my reacher is eight feet like that is.

Look at it.

Watch what he doesn't tall elevation I'm calling this is like a ninth buster. Oh no.

When I watched this for the first time, I thought the same thing so much so I went back and reviewed the tape and I paused mid.

Air just to see the elevation. And he's like this, and.

I think his arms went straight, dogs straight, go go, gadget arms, and I.

Think he just dunk that thing.

What I'm thinking this has gone viral because he's Tom Brady.

He's left that. Ok. Look at that. Move the lower thirt move the lower third. Look at this. That's elevation.

Oh my goodness. No, no, no, reach stop stop it right now.

Space there's space.

The space jam reach. He could not jump over a wall.

Look at this.

No, no, no, that's a nine. In fact, that's an eight and a half foot court. That's an eight and a half foot court. I keep saying, that's the space jam reach.

Think that's Kyle did Our question is completely getting negated the show.

Did I want to spend the rest of the show talking about.

We have hoop game. Bring off the video again, if I could have the floor. What you're what you're really looking for.

Is how high are his feet off the floor?

Because he is tall and he does have long arms, but he's not six says, this is not you know Yannis out there, he's getting in over the rim. He is very tall, defeat aren't very high off the floor?

Would the NBA put a logo on like an eight foot rim?

Though?

Like that's an official NBA log doesn't appear to be adjustable. Look at the hinge j is adjustable and it doesn't appear to be going all the way out.

So when he facetimes that, whoever he's face timing, is he like.

Yo, I just don't get an eight foot rim? Or is he acting as if it's a ten foot rim? Because then I got problems. I think you I don't want to speak for I don't. I don't think that is a ten foot rim?

What is this?

Sidney Dean says, is this bleep regulation? This bleep regulation.

That's Billy Hoyle and he checks it. Yep looks good to me. Wesley and Woodie, we need you. I don't think that's a ten foot rim.

Good job on part.

Yeah. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry to bust you out.

Man.

I mean you got over on the Raiders with the fumble thing, so I mean, I just I just had to.

I just had to. I'm just saying, just say it.

It was.

I was you were flirting with disaster because you were throwing out a lot of gates there and we were all getting a little stress, and then all of a sudden when you hit us with it. That's not regulation size hoop. I was like, Okay, we can buy I buy into your conspiracy theory.

I do.

We don't care if he's going to be a top five quarterback. We care. Can you actually don't on ten foot hoop?

And you need the risk to be over the rim.

The risk wasn't even over the rim.

Come on, that's not ten. Let's not ten.

Come on, tom We Happy Friday, everybody.

Sherrifer is here with you at the News Chief Center.

Creed Humphrey is a two time Pro bowler over the last two seasons, but never played in the game. Oh yeah, he was too busy winning super Bowls. Talk about a great problem to have. Well, The Chiefs rewarding Humphrey Thursday, as NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport is reporting, the Center agreeing to terms on a four year, seventy two million dollars deal. Humphrey will average eighteen million a season. They can be highest paid in NFL history based on average salary. Now Eagles All Pro tackle Lee Johnson's entering his twelfth season in Philadelphia. Sounds like he has a few more years left in the tank, the thirty four year old saying physically he thinks he can play till forty but realistically probably two or three more seasons left. But already hitting that forty year mark is Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's of course coming off that torn achilles last season. He won't play in the preseason finale against the Giants, but head coach Robert Sala says Rogers got a good work during joint practices and he's shown he still can move around the pocket.

He's got plenty of mobility. He showed it in Carolina, He's been showing it in practice. It was really cool for him to do it again. There's obviously a couple of all schedule throws that he made. You can tell that he's gaining more and more confidence in it because he's not afraid to run and leave the pocket. You know he's been doing it if you guys notice during our routes on air, during individual and group insaul, he manufactures all schedule plays just to make sure that one the guys are on their piece and Q's and him, he's getting his work in, so the mobility is there. He's got plenty of mobility to create off schedule.

All right, Well, coming up next. Earlier this week, you might remember Peter revealing just some of his breakout players at twenty twenty four.

But who made the top five?

Find out next when GMFPI returns.

Good mon is football number one for me?

Maybe twenty eighteen ap most valuable player is Patrick.

Mah Josh Allen.

Fantastic rookie season in Spurts. I expect a consistent year year number two.

I'm going to the linebacker. I've been talking about them all summer long.

I think Devin White is going to be the breakout player of twenty twenty.

Picked off by Devin White. The ball we're instep SATs.

Territory personality is going to be amazing this year.

I think we're gonna fall in love with Cede Lamb, but most importantly, I think he's a great wide receiver.

Perfect strike to CD Lamb, touchdown Cowboys.

I think this season, Nick Bolton is gonna come about and we're gonna start talking about this Chiefs defense a little way.

And as up he kicks the ball, it's picked up by Kansas City, A defensive.

Scored number three.

I'm going to a rookie player.

It's going to be Lions rookie Junior Gibbs.

Jamior Gibbs, just dance it through the defense.

Oh my goodness, what an effort by twenty six.

Multi phased elite explosive weapon.

Yeah, outside it.

Wo I'll sign up for that. It's memory Lane.

It's time to now unveil the top five of my twenty twenty four list. If you're watching a home it's an annual tradition we do here on the show. I like to think I've got pretty good accuracy. Let's go through six through ten, which we were revealed on Wednesday, starting off with boom number ten. Julia McLaughlin out of Denver punter first off punter's ever made the list.

Tory Taylor, the Aussie for.

The Bears, Khalil Shakir, the new number one in Buffalo. Malcolm Kootz. You've never heard of him. He's gonna have ten sacks.

Put it in the books.

And number six.

Deane Banks, He's a Giants number one corner.

Now let's go five through one. Here we go.

I talked to all the coaches, all the gms.

Here is what we do. We saw with number five, who is number thirty two on the Lions. That is their starting safety, Brian Branch six feet, two hundred pounds out of Alabama.

Second year in the league.

Brian Branch was all over the field last season, played in fifteen games, had seventy four tackles, three different interceptions. He led Detroit with thirteen passes defended. And he's going to be the man calling the shots from the middle for this talented and decorated young Lions defense.

You're looking for a game breaker.

Brian Branchmber two and the last year they had all those rookies, Bryan Branch is gonna step off and then I'm talking Pro Bowl season this year for this guy out of the safety spot.

Flies all over the field.

On of Nick saban favorite players on defense that he ever had, and now Branch is gonna make Aaron Glenn's defense sing as he's the guy calling the shots from the back of the defensive backfield.

Number four going to Tampa. Who's number zero on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That's ya YadA YadA, ya yaddi yabi.

If you like me yelling pooka nakula all last season, I'm gonna be saying ya yadd yaby.

All this season.

He plays linebackerybody could also.

Play d end if you need him.

Six ' three, two hundred and seventy pounds, twenty five years old out of Louisville.

A friend of the show.

Last years, he had a breakout rookie season, third round pick. He had seven and a half sacks last year. Okay, then led the Buccaneers. Now what do you do this season?

How do you go to that? So offers, here's my ball. Take ya ya.

Dabby's gonna have fifteen sacks this season. He might leave the league.

Put it in the books. Put it in the books, yah yah.

My favorite players Elijah Canzi, also a draft pick from last year, working the inside videvea, working the inside, and of course I've got yah yeah.

Wearing number zero coming on the outside. I'm loving it. Ya Ya d Yabi is a breakout player.

Number three.

Who we got a Cardinals logo? Who is that? Cardinals? We don't talk much Cards.

And we don't talk much Cardinals tight ends. That is Trey McBride.

Trade McBride's six, two hundred and forty five pounds entering his third season. Do you know that Trey McBride last year had eighty one catches on a forgettable Cardinals team.

Four wins, that had four wins and didn't have Kyler for many games, and it was Josh Dobbs and other dudes.

Trey McBride is now entering third year of his career. Trey McBride is going to have a breakout season. You're gonna see his name atop the list of targets, receptions, receiving yards.

This new little Kyler Murray offense that is now really his second season in this offense.

Now he's finally healthy.

I'm hearing things out of Arizona. He loves at Marvin Harrison, he loves him. That's been unbelievable. He likes that Michael Wilson on the outside. Out of Stanford, Trey McBride might be the dude that makes these big plays Colorado State. We love Trey McBride's story. We've heard it, and he is going to emerge in year number three, which leads to number two. Another guy that I've been very high on all summer.

Love this guy.

I'm big on Kenneth Walker, Kyle, I'm big on Kenneth Walker.

I think Kenneth Walker.

Entering his third year, is about to have a huge breakout season.

We're talking workload.

Give me the rock Bell Coow type year in Seattle. Okay, Walker, this is the dude who has had over a thousand scrimmage yards in each of his first two seasons.

So what is breakout if he's already done that.

No, I'm talking like top of the top of the top of.

The list on all these back list.

I go back to twenty twenty one.

Mike McDonald was a defensive coordinator at some school called Michigan. The running back for Michigan State that day was Kenneth Walker. Kenneth Walker won for one ninety five and five touchdowns.

Do you know who the.

Head coach of the Seattle Seahawks is right now?

Mike McDonald. He was the DC of Michigan that day. He saw it up close and personal.

And he knows what this guy can do if he can stay healthy.

Look at those biceps. I'm in.

He is a physical freak.

He is a specimen, and he is going to be the workload in this Seattle offense.

Before we reveal number one, let.

Me give a little little build up cramble.

Kyler Murray's been number one on this list. Okay, Ceedee Lamb has been number one on this list. Patrick Mahomes has been number one on this list. Number one on my list of breakout players for the twenty fourth season is a rookie, and he's a rookie quarterback.

But he's not the.

One everyone might expect.

The number one breakout player twenty twenty four will be Washington Commander's quarterback Jaden Let's go.

Daniels, Let's go.

This dude is made up of everything you would want in a franchise quarterback, and he is well ahead of schedule. If you want to question, like, well, you're just throwing it, I'll say like, I love Cliff Kingsbury.

He's a good friend of mine. I love Dan Quinn, pal of mine. I love everything about what.

I'm hearing out of Washington this summer, and it's been a quiet buzz under the halo of the Caleb talk, which is fine.

There's no hard knocks cameras. He's only played a few games. This one I didn't like, get out of bounds, Jaden.

What are we doing running the ball like this?

To make the number one on the list.

He's my number one player.

I think he's going to blow people away with just how far along he already is. And look at that size, six foot four, two.

Hundred and ten pounds.

He can run, but he can also throw that deep pass. The Heisman Trophy winner from last year. This is hollowed ground here. I don't take this lightly. I like to think that I speak to just about every team and talk to a lot of coaches in GMS, and if I give you that number one player, I actually am not just saying it.

I believe it.

I think Jaden Daniels is gonna be our offensive rookie of the year, and I think he might have one of those breakthrough rookie seasons that we saw like CJ. Stroud had a year ago. Here's a look at my top ten breakout players from the twenty twenty fourth season in one list. Digest it all, take it in.

You got your fantasy drafts this weekend.

Go big on all these guys if you want.

If you believe me, and I think Jaden Daniels is going to shock some folks with just how far along he is in.

The rookie quarterback.

We're talking Cam Newton breakout season as a rookie.

We're talking to CJ.

Stroud type stuff where it's, oh my gosh, Jaden's already there.

That's what I'm thinking, Achbar.

We go back to you in the studio in Los Angeles. A lot of work put into this. I love to surprise you guys with it. I don't think you had the list beforehand.

So nope, Ockbar.

What do you say, especially Jayden Daniel's number one on the list.

Well, you know how much I love Jaydon Daniels, so I was really really happy to see that he made number one. I thought you was gonna forget about my boy. I don't know him, but I thought you was gonna forget about him. So well done. But you went deep and you really educated me on the West African freak.

Yes ya ya diabli I.

Wasn't really familiar with him, but now I was starting to look him up. I'm going, Oh, I see what you're going. I see where you're going with this one. He could really elevate the Bucks defense.

I see you going with the yah y'all. I'm not gonna go ya y'ah, but I'm gonna go Kenneth Walker to third. And that's not only because I'm from Seattle.

But mainly mainly because of the standpoint. This dude is nasty, Okay.

He is shifty, He's able to catch your rock out the backfield, he's able to get downhill, make somebody miss in a phone booth.

And he has a defensive head coach.

And if we know anything about defensive head coaches is they value the possession of the ball and they want to make sure that their defense is on the field at least amount as possible.

Peter, I know everyone is on the Lions bandwagon at this point. It is firmly secure that they are going to have a great season after what they did last year. But like Peter putting Jamior Gibbs on the list last year and then Brian branch on it this year at number five, Brian branch Peter.

I remember last year.

The season opener when I think he picked off Mahomes, didn't he in the first game of his as a rookie.

Of course you have Brian branch On there.

I like it first of all.

A couple things what I admire about this list is that it'd be very easy to make a list that is Marvin Harrison Junior and b John Robinson. Like people don't have Malcolm Koontz on their breakout list.

They don't have ya Ya Dabi and Peter.

You mentioned how we like to kind of call out names over the year, like sing song.

Telling o Whu funga.

Everyone on this show needs to watch the Will Ferrell movie Eurovision, in which the anthem.

Of the whole movie is ya ya ding dong.

So every time yah yah dah makes it play, we're going to quote Eurovision, Peter, if that's the plant. Last thing we always end up with the t up here for you, Peter. We like Jane Nails as much as anybody. Why the pick of him instead of Caleb Williams We was drafted behind great question.

It's more about what I'm feeling as far as how far along that Jaden already is in the cliff offense. I think that he's gonna be spectacled. I think both guys are gonna be really successful. But just like last year where the number two pick was CJ. Stroud and he actually went offensive Rookie of the Year, I think that's what we might be looking at this year with Jaden over Caleb.

It's just hey preference for me right now, I'm going Jaden over Caleb. But what do I know? We shall see my top ten.

Print it out, put it on the back of your door.

Put it on your refrigerator, and.

We'll check back in. Ya ya ya ya yah ding dong ya ya ding dong. I gotta watch it here in your vision. I have never seen it.

I was shuffler now while he was coming down. I gotta go give yeah, awesull.

That's pretty good considering like, how Hey, fans, how much con you get there?

No?

God, I ain't learning that in the NFL rulely it I'm learning there.

I go. I ain't even know.

You couldn't show your team.

I can't afford it.

I know they took me. I already lost some day. I got to see there. I have everybody's telling me the rules.

I'm learning as I go.

Man, I'm new here.

I'm my favorite dad here.

You know what I'm saying.

But hey, this is great.

I love this organization. Let's keep going.

I'm new here. I'm just trying to learn the rules that how you guys feel.

On GMFB, time for go Bigger this season presented by best Buy. That was Rams rookie wide receiver Jordan Whittington miked up against the Cowboys in their preseason game. We love rookie wide receivers for the Rams. Puka Dakua was one that we were so fond of last year. Peter, what does Jordan Whittington make you feel right now ahead of the season.

Very cool guy, long hair, huge personality, Achbar You mentioned him while I was in studio a couple of weeks ago.

I want to throw to the.

Clip because I saw something at RAMS camp that I had never seen before. Oh wow, he's got long hair. Texas wide receiver. You know there was Ada I Mitchell, there's Xavier Worthy. This guy Whittington. It is lighting it up too. After practice everyone's gone. There's a jugs machine out there. I've never seen this drill. Whittington is lying down on his back.

Okay, the jug.

Machines behind him, and he's catching balls like this while lying down on so a jugs machine is firing balls and he's catching balls like this, and.

I was like, is that for show?

And like I was talking to a coach and he's like, this guy does his own thing and he's been awesome all practice.

Wow.

Wow, Rams might.

Have found another dog. They might have found another Nikoula late.

I don't know.

Whittington big personality as you saw in the micd up stuff, but Akbar, you were on him early also.

Yeah, yeah, just from watching his film from from Texas and just watching seeing.

Him, I'm like, I like this guy.

So it was interesting when I saw you know that they drafted him, and it was like, yeah, this is this makes sense because we know that Sean McVay loves young wide receivers, so I know they have DeMarcus Robinson. But you can see we saw what they did with Cooper Cup. Nobody was really kind of feeling them like that until he became Cooper Cup.

Puka Nakua now Whittington.

Hey shout out to the scouting department of the Los Angeles Rams. I happened to be on the call for the Dallas Cowboys versus the Rams a couple weeks back, when you guys saw him lighting it up and that dude's name just kept popping up, it made me look at us, like, who is this cat right here?

I guess what.

You're gonna know whose name after this season?

And you know what, here's why you spending an entire segment on Jordan Whittington. Many of you have fantasy drafts this weekend. Late in the draft, who everyone's disinterested or drunk, Say Jordan Whittington and take a flyer on him.

You will be happy you did.

Hey fun Facder, his father was drafted by the Raiders.
