By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - With plant-based or vegan food products gaining popularity worldwide, South Africa is to benefit from the introduction of an internationally-recognised vegan accreditation. Known as "V-Label" - the accreditation will work similar to a Halaal certificate for example - making it easier for consumers to identify vegan options and trust that they are truly vegan. Director of local food awareness NGO ProVeg South Africa, Donovan Will says this landmark move will hopefully inspire more interest in plant-based food locally.
