05/06/24: The current McLean County State's Attorney is Ladd R Erickson of Washburn. He was first elected to the four year position in 2002 and was re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. State’s Attorney Erickson charged Rep. Jason Dockter, a Bismarck Republican, in December with a crime alleging the lawmaker broke a state law for voting on legislation he had a financial interest in. On Friday, a jury found Dockter guilty of the misdemeanor charge.

North Dakota House Minority Leader Zac Ista will not seek re-election

03/05/26: Jason Benson is the Metro Flood Diversion Authority Executive Director, and joins Joel on "News and Views" to give an update on the diversion. Prior to taking that role last February, Jason worked for the Cass County, ND, Highway Department. When flooding occurred, he served as the incident commander for Cass County’s flood response efforts.
