John's guest this week is a local favorite, Carl Burdick. Carl practiced law for decades in the Saint Joseph, Michigan area, well respected and highly competent. But, now that he is in retirement, he has taken upon himself a special task: reading all the classics of English literature that me put aside for reading :"some day", In fact they talk over both his background, and why the challenge of reading those classics has been so rewarding to him. It is through this avocation that he has come to even more appreciate the pleasure and importance of reading.
