(00 - 5:55)The Bread Basket of NEPA is hosting a Bread Basket Bolt 5k walk/run at 9am on May 11, and Rosemary Bohenek joins the show to tell us all about the nonprofit! The nonprofit's mission is to reduce local food insecurity, and has been around since 1984!! Currently they have 7 locations throughout Lackawanna County where individuals, families and veterans in need can get non-perishable food items, and fresh foods as available. Recently they opened Valhalla Veterans Pantry on Jackson St in Scranton to better serve local vets in need. The Run will take place at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail at the Olive Street Trailhead, and you can signup here. Learn more about the Bread Basket of NEPA at BreadBasketNEPA.com

(5:55 - 14:30)Did you know that #570Day is right around the corner! That's right - on May 7th head to your favorite social media platform and post about a new place you love in NEPA using #570Day! In its 4th year, 570Day was created by the Wilkes-Barre Rotary Club and has since grown to incorporate numerous area businesses, organizations and government groups to help shine a spotlight on all things great about our area! Ahmad joins the show, along with Sarah from Visit Luzerne County, to discuss this year's event. Make sure you following on with 570Day on Facebook and Instagram...and get ready to post!

(14:30 - 30:00)  Laura Ryan joins Marcy to discuss the critical level of need for blood donations in our area. The Miller Keystone Blood Center is a Pittston-based nonprofit that accepts donations of blood, plasma and platelets to deliver to hospitals right here in NEPA! Donations are usually lowest during the summer months, and considering most donors are aged 55+ many blood banks are urging younger generations to get involved and start donating blood today! The Miller-Keystone Blood Center is hosting several blood drives during the month of May: You can donate now - May 17th with for a chance to win tickets to see the RailRiders, supported by the Swoyersville and Pittston Little Leagues. Or if you donate anytime during the month of May you can win tickets to see Brooks & Dunn or comedian Nate Bargatze! Not sure if you're able to donate? The FTC has loosened restrictions over the years, and Miller-Keystone can help you determine if your eligible! Head to GiveAPint.org to learn more, and follow along on social!
