The local nonprofit was founded by George Bowers in honor of his daughter, with a mission of aiding chronically ill and disabled children and their families. The Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health & Developmental Services is a department within Luzerne County that provides a full range of mental health and intellectual disability services responsive to individual and community needs.
