(00 - 15:00) The show opens with Families United Network CEO Ron Simon. The nonprofit is headquartered in Muncy, but has locations all across Northeast and Central PA - as well as the state. Families United Network specializes in Foster and Adoption, and currently there is a high need for foster parents across the state. Children are currently on a waitlist for foster families with the most aged from youth to teens. (15 - 21:45) Kids may be out of school, however many districts who provide low-cost or free lunches to hundreds of students will leave many families struggling with food insecurity throughout the summer months. WBRE/WYOU-TV's Tom Williams tells Marcy about the NEPA Children First initiative, which strives to provide families with food for children during the summer. The station has teamed up with the CEO/Weinberg Food Bank and Weis Markets to hold food drives at local Weis stores every Wednesday from June 19th through July 24th. Patrons can assist the Hunger Free Summer Wednesdays by donating nonperishables during these times, or opt to provide a monetary donation. The theme is 'Love Out Loud' - and the celebrations begin with a parade down Main Street at noon!
