(00 - 5:50) Downtown Scranton is about to get a makeover - Office style! Valley In Motion President Gus Fahey discusses The Office 5k run and walk taking place on May 2nd. In it's "5th season" the event brings thousands of "The Office" fans into the area to celebrate the beloved show while supporting a good local cause. Proceeds raised from the event helps Valley in Motion with their mission of providing public community areas for connection and engagement across the Lackawanna Valley. The Office 5k will kick of at 11am in front of Linden Steel and feature a course emphasizing well-knows area featured on the show. Learn more about Valley in Motion here.

(5:51 - 20:11) The Ronald McDonald House has been a staple in the community for decades, and Rich Bradshaw joins the show once again to fill listeners in on all the amazing things happening during the month of May! The Ronald McDonald House of Scranton provides a place of rest and care for families whose children and battling serious illness in area hospitals free of charge. They have since expanded into Allied Services of Scranton, creating "Family Rooms" so families don't have to stray far from their children. The nonprofit starts off the month of May with a golf tournament on the 11th before kicking off a newly revamped brand reveal on the 15th to coincide with their 40th anniversary. The organization has also partnered with Mariotti Building Products for a special raffle, where one lucky winner will receive a $30,000 dream kitchen makeover! These events help fuel the nonprofit, who is always looking for donated supplies and volunteers to assist with keeping the Scranton House and family rooms fully stocked with everything a family away from home could need. (20:12 - 30) The Greater Scranton YMCA is celebrating Healthy Kids Day on May 2nd - and the whole community is invited! Marketing Director Colleen Burns Ecklund fills us in on the free, fun activities planned. The Y will offer bounce houses, rock walls, trains rides, face painting, kids activities, food, touch-a-trucks and more for the community to enjoy..all while promoting a healthy lifestyle! The YMCA is celebrating 175 years of helping families build healthy habits across the US and never turns anyone away due to an inability to pay - made possible through generous community donations and scholarships. To that end, the Greater Scranton Y is also offering a free trial week from May 10th through June 7th, so anyone can come experience all the Y has to offer! In addition to healthy habits, the Greater Scranton YMCA also offers childcare and summer camp opportunities. Summer camp starts June 15th - and spot are filling fast!
