‘Wicked’ Trigger Warning Sparks Online Outrage: “Green Skin Discrimination.” Robin Thicke Spills on ‘Stressful’ Santa Claus Talks with His Four Kids. Fans Roast NBC for Putting Al Roker in Tiny Chair During Thanksgiving Parade

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has found itself at the center of a storm after issuing a trigger warning for Wicked. For Robin Thicke, the holidays aren’t all twinkling lights and festive cheer—there’s also the tricky business of the Santa Claus conversation. Al Roker became the unexpected star of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade broadcast for his comically small chair next to co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

It's time Hell, no lo and no Welcome to the Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. It's Friday. Did you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving? I hope so. I am full today, full with food, but maybe more importantly, full with love. We had a lovely day with Bruce's family, Neil and Leslie on Long Island. Thank you for the invite. That new Penn station, that Moynahan station in New York. It's so nice. It's exactly the type of train station New York City should have it. It's just glorious. We caught the train out. We had lots to eat Leslie. The food was amazing, and lots to take home to Leslie was kind of love to send us back to the city with a little care package or two. So I think I'm going to have another turkey dinner today. Lots and lots of food. But as I said, most importantly, it wasn't the food, it was the company, it was the love. Thank you for having us. I hope you had a lovely day too. Cory is off today. Cory is enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend. I guess now, and so it's just us today. Naughties. But don't don't be worried. We've got a lot to talk about. What time is it, my friends? It is tea time, big story out of London which is blowing up around the world. Let me explain. So Wicked have issued trigger warnings on the movie and people are now outraged by this. The British Board of Film Classification, quite fancy they're called the BBFC, has found itself at the center of a storm after issuing a trigger warning for Wicked in the UK, and social media is anything but enchanted. So the BBFC's note highlighted themes in the highly anticipated musical It's a Huge hit, stating quote a green skinned woman is mocked, bullied and humiliated because of her skin color, a disabled girl in a wheelchair is treated in a condescending manner by able bodied people, and finally, talking animals are persecuted in a fantastical society. Now Piers Morgan, who always weighs in on this stuff, he's never let an opportunity to get some attention pass him by. I was on Pierce's show a couple of weeks ago. It's a great show. What he is good at is really really tapping in to. I think what really presses people's buttons. So I'm not sure anybody who saw the film, who saw Wicked, felt like they needed a trigger warning. We know the story, let's be honest. Now it's been on Broadway for over twenty years, so we know what's going to happen in it. But what Piers is really good at is fighting back, pushing back when a trigger warning or when it feels as if as a group, as a society, in his opinion, we've gone too far. Let me explain what he said. P has weighed in. He fired off a post to all his followers on social media, telling the woke brigade to f off with this nonsense. Now, in the US, no such trigger warning accompanies the film, so we've seen it here. In America you'll see there's no trigger warning. I've seen it here. It is fantastic, no trigger warning, leaving many to question whether the outrage is warranted or misplaced. If Britain wants to do this, I guess it's up to them. The BBFC, they're in charge of this. It's their classification. They're an official agency and they watch all the films, every single film, and they decided that this one needed a trigger warning now in America, not the case. People did not feel like that at all. People in positions of power. Where are you on this one? Have you seen the movie and did it set you? And I think that's the point though, it's meant to upset you because Alphabe's story it's really really dramatic, it's really really sad and empowering. Let's remember, at the end of the day, the Green Witch is not so Wicked after all. I don't want to give spoiler alerts, but once again, this project, this musical has been out for over twenty years. So despite this controversy and it is big today people are going to be talking about this. Wicked remains a box office powerhouse and it's on track to make about two hundred and fifty million by Sunday, making it the highest grossing movie adaptation of a musical ever ever. I also looked on the album charts. It looks like the album's going to be number two on the charts this week. If it wasn't for Kendrick Lamar's new album, it would be number one. And so also, gosh yes, I looked up the single charts. Popular is on the single charts also to Defying Gravity, the big hit song from the musical. It's on the charts twice. Cynthia Arrivera's version is in the top ten, and Adina Manzelle, who sang the original on Broadway, is in the top thirty. So it's a monster hit on the single chance at the box office. But it is getting some pushback now saying does this movie need a trigger warning? We've seen this happen a lot. I remember Gone with the Wind now has a trigger warning on that, and so maybe they should have one on Wicked, which brings us to our whole question of the day. What do you think Wicked in the UK has issued a trigger warning, baking viewers aware that the content might be upsetting. Now that has not happened in America. There is no warning in America. Where are you on this? What do you think should there be a warning on Wicked? Yes? Or no? I'm not sure it takes anything away from the movie. So if I saw it and I saw a warning letting me know, my goodness, this is happening, or that is happening, or the following is happening, I think I've been more upset that it was a spoil are alert than it was something that would trigger me, But nevertheless, I want to know what you think about this noughties. Should there be a trigger warning on wicked here in the US as well as in the UK. Go vote on our Twitter page ad noughdy nize rob Facebook pages naughty gossip and be sure to check back on Monday to hear your results. We have some Thanksgiving news. Tom Brady was working. He was working over the Thanksgiving while his ex wife Giselle was with the kids in Costa Rica. I know where I would rather be, so Tom Brady traded the turkey for touchdowns this Thanksgiving as he stepped into the broadcast booth for his first ever Thanksgiving Day game with Fox Sports. It's a big game on Thanksgiving Day. He was really honored to be part of that. He's trying to transition. He's one of the best football players of all time, arguably the best. He would say that, but now that career is over for him, he's retired, but he still loves the game. He can make a lot of money broadcasting. He inked a jaw dropping a three hundred and seventy five million deal with Fox You heard that right. Three hundred and seventy five million deals with Fox, and he couldn't hide his excitement. Who could calling it a quote pinch myself moments and I get goosebumps. So while he was working, Giselle and the kids was celebrating the holidays soaking in the sun in Costa Rica. This is where these two were so different, So we never really got to the bottom of their breakup. She's now pregnant with her child with Joachim, her new boyfriend. Insiders tell me they were just such different people. She enjoys, enjoys her success by taking time off. He cannot stop working. He is like a shark. Insiders tell me his happiest when he's working, when he's around football. Remember, there was a lot of debate about her being furious that he would not retire, and then he did, but he wanted to get back, and then he did go back. All of that is true. My sources tell me it was about work verse time with the family and Giselle the number one priority is her kids. Now I'm not saying it's not for Tom. I'm not saying that, but I'm saying Tom juggles this and has much more conflicted feelings about it. Jozelle would give up modeling in a second to be with those kids she practically has. She has enough money that she'll never ever have to work again, and the same is true with Tom. Tom Brady has made so much money he doesn't need the money, so he's not doing it for that. A lot of people do their job for the money, Let's be honest, lots of people. I've had jobs that I didn't even like, but they paid me well, so I did them. I'm talking about representing some of those means celebrities, let me tell you. But at the moment, I have a really nice balance where I have enough time with my family, with Bruce, with people I love, my friends, and I also make enough money from a job I enjoyed doing. But I could be more successful if I worked more hours. I don't want to. I was up for this big job more for it's a little bit, a little bit too dramatic. I got a call from somebody asking me if i'd be interested in heading up this big, big website. It was a huge site, it still is. I don't want to do it. The money was delicious, but it would mean I would be working. It feels like twenty four hours a day, like it's just it's never ending. And it's seven days a week. You don't get off a Saturday or a Sunday. I have my phone on me, and I do work occasionally on the weekends, but it's not a day that I sit at my desk working like I do Monday to Friday. And so the balance here between work and real life is so important. I would go with Gazelle on this one, But what about you? Are you more of a tom or more of a gazelle? Okay, moving along this story. Oh, it's tricky and I don't want to upset any of our young listeners, so let's tread carefully on this. Robin Thick is spilling on the stressful Santa Clause talk that he might have to have very soon with his four children. He said, sooner or later, the fantasy is over. Let me explain. So Robin is saying that the holidays are not all twinkling lights and festive cheer. There's also the tricky business of the Santa Clause conversation. The father afore opened up about the challenges of keeping the magic alive. Let's say that the magic alive while attending the Grooves and your Christmas tree lighting in la He told page six quote, the Santa conversation is a stressful conversation. It certainly is, and he's trying to figure it all out. He said also too, that if your kids go to a school where there's lots of kids of different religions, then these conversations actually start a little bit earlier. Now he goes with the following mantra, and I think I'm not a parent. If you're a parent, maybe this is a good idea. He tells his kids. If you believe Santa will come, I like that. When do you feel though, When is the time when you maybe can start talking about not believing? What is this? This is a question for all the parents out there. What do you do when your kids ask you these really important questions, questions that could potentially take a little bit of magic out of their lives. Nobody ever told me. My mom and dad never sat down, and they avoided this conversation. But when I was probably about twelve, maybe a little earlier, because I had an older sister and I was very noosy. I'm a very curious little boy. I was, I still am. Maybe when I was about ten, maybe even nine. I started to ask questions and none of it sort of added up to me, and my mom and dad sort of just brushed it off. They never really said anything. But kids talk about it on the playground, they talk about it at school. What do you think here? Should you say something or should you just pretend as if the magic is something that if you want to believe in, then you do it? Okay? Moving along, Kate and William have made a beautiful gesture on social media. So Kate and William are mourning a brave teen who lost a battle with cancer as the princess focuses on her own recovery. So Prince William and Princess Kate were grieving the loss of a remarkable team who inspired them for her bravery. The royal couple paid tribute to seventeen year old Liz Hatton. Let's remember that name, Liz Hatton, who tragically passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. In a heartfelt message shared on their official ex account, the Prince and the Princess of Wales wrote to quote, we are so sorry to hear that Liz Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honor to have met such a brave and humble young woman. They signed the note with their initials W and C. Catherine. That's how they sign their notes now. Liz met the Royal couple last month when she achieved a special special win to meet them in person, and this encounter had a lasting impression on William and Kate, clearly because what Kate is going through it was even more profound. They did stay in touch, and now Liz has tragically passed, but they wanted to acknowledge her. And I think that what they said is just beautiful. Cancer. Cancer. Oh, it's such a beast. I can't wait for the day. Wouldn't it be thankful for that when we finally finally find a cure, find a solution for this awful, awful disease. Hey, we're thinking about you, Liz, quickly before we get a break. This story is hilarious. So fans are roasting NBC for putting Al Roca in what appeared to be a tiny chair during the Thanksgiving Day prayed people saying get him a booster seat. So Al has become the unexpected star of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Prayed broadcast not for his weather updates or his witty commentary, but rather his comically his small chair next to co hosts Savannah Guffrey and hod A Coppy. The seventy year old Today's Show I Can't looked noticeably shorter as he sat at the festive desk alongside Savannah and Hoder during the coverage of the parade. Fans took to social media, accusing the network of doing Al the dirty by seating him in what appeared to be an itty bitty chair. Person on social media commented, if anyone is hiring, please let me know what can be the person at NBC that gives Ol an appropriate size chair. Another person wrote, quote, because I'm ill broker a booster at seat, it did look strange. I was watching the preade. I watched it every morning before we went out to Neil and Lesley's on Long Island. I was watching the prede and the dog Show. I loved the dog show. Congratulations to the Pug. The pug wor gorgeous and so I was watching it and it did appear as if Al was teeny tiny. They put him in a smaller chair. It's a power move. When I was on TV with Miss d when we had our morning show. Miss d is much shorter than me and actually probably a everybody else on the cast, so she had a little booster seat. Her share was actually had a cushion on it to booster her up a little bit so that when we're all sitting behind the desk, we all looked at least sort of a similar height. Otherwise it just looks so strange. Check it out. Have a look of the NBC parade on YouTube today. Yeah, how weird it look. Somebody in props is going to be getting a sharp call today. Okay, we're going to take a quick break and we will be right back. Welcome back to the Nordy n I Sham your host, Rob Shooter. Hey, let's get to the polls DA DA. Last share, we talked about tension between King Charles and Prince William. This is a power struggle that has been going on within the palace since Charles announced he had cancer. William's team had been really stepping up. Well, part of that stepping up to is a succession plan. You don't get the job, it's so cruel. We talked about this, didn't mean it's so cruel. William can't get this job unless his dad dies or retires. Now, that does not happen very often at all. But our question was a man in his seventies with cancer should he retire? Now? Should Charles pass the baton to William? What do you think? Let's have a look. Oh sixty percent said yes, you would like to see William King sooner than later. My inside has tell me ain't gonna happen. He's wanted this job for over seventy years, and now that he has it, he ain't retiring, not just yet. Don't forget to vote on today's pole. And nicest of the day is Jaylo, who is spotted out and about in la celebrating her first Thanksgiving without Ben Affleck, who spent it with Jennifer Gardner. So Les Perez was spotted in La as she stepped out for a stylish pre Thanksgiving lunch with her friends, marking her first holiday season since filing for divorce from Ben in August. Now, while Jennifer's exact Thanksgiving plans what she did yesterday are not totally clear. Sources tell me that she did spend time with her sixteen year old twins, who she shares with her ex husband Mark Anthony. Meanwhile, her estranged husband Ben affleck he was focused on his family. Ben spent the day with his three children, Violet, Sarafina and Samuel, and also Jennifer Gardner said they spent it together. Jennifer was with her families, but I love this. She also was with friends. Jennifer Lopez is a superstar, one of the most famous people in the world, which is also a human being, and this is a tough time. Holidays can be difficult for people. They really can be. That's one of the reasons that I love doing this show on the holidays. I got some lovely notes yesterday, some dms, some emails thanking me for our holiday shows. A lot of podcast hosts take today and yesterday off, they take a few days off, and I'm not for one second throwing any shade at them. You pick your schedule. I love doing my show, I really do. It gives me nothing but pleasure. And there's something about the holidays where I think you need a friend. I've had holidays where I've been all alone. I really have. When I was in Edinburgh study and I didn't have any money, I didn't have that many friends. I would have loved to have a familiar, a kind voice to listen to each morning. So that's what we try to do here. But Jalo, you are o nicest of the day, even though you are a superstar, you are a person, and I love that I can see you are relying, You are leaning on your friend during what can be a difficult moment and nice ist of the day. Now I noticed the dayy nuty, naughty, naughty Jimmy fallon is our not is the day for wearing sunglasses during the rain at the Macy's preyed so Jimmy became the unintentional punchline for this year's Macey's Thanksgiving Prayed thanks to his perplexing choice of accessories. The tonight show host, Who's fifty Brave the rain, it was pouring down, the drizzle, the overcast skies performing in the parade a little bit more challenged in this show, however, is now wearing extra gloves or maybe carrying an umbrella. He chose to wear sun glasses. People took to social media saying sunglasses in the rain is the most Jimmy fallon. That Jimmy fallon could be Jimmy fallon. It is very Jimmy fallon. Other people were like, why there's the glasses. Some people were even cheeky enough to ask it was early in the morning. Were you a little hung over, Jimmy. They start hair and makeup and rehearsals for that parade at about five six a m. In the morning. You have to get there early. I've worked that parade with different clients over the year and they're very, very strict that you get their hours before the preade actually starts. And maybe Jimmy was really little tired. Let's be generous, a little bit tired and naughtice the day. Let's end with a moment of rob. You gotta Robby, get a rubet a rubbie and rob. It doesn't matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are. It's how you treat people that ultimately tells everything. Treat people well, treat people well well, and treat yourself well too. Hey, that is it for today. Thank you so much for listening to the Naughty but Nice with Rob and the Naughty Shirt.
