Clayface Review

Narnia Trailer Park

Movie Mike has added a new film to his exclusive club of 5 out of 5 films. He revisits every movie he has rated a 5 out of 5 on the podcast since 2019 to determine if they still hold up? From Joker in 2019 to Project Hail Mary in 2026. What does he still think is perfect, how has his rating system changed over the years and what did he just add to the list In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Clayface. It’s an R-rated DC villain origin story. It’s about an actor whose face is disfigured, so he turns to a scientist who transforms his body into clay. He then begins to lose his sanity as he is unable to recognize himself. Mike shared why he thinks DC is playing it too safe, why A-list stars are no longer needed and how it compares to Joker and The Penguin. In the Trailer Park, Narnia: The Magician's Nephew  directed by Greta Gerwig.  The trailer introduces Polly Plummer and Digory Kirke as they discover the mysterious world of magic through Digory’s eccentric Uncle Andrew, portrayed by Daniel Craig.

Other Mommy Review

Cliff Booth Trailer Park

What movies made you feel like the entire world was watching at the same time? Movie Mike breaks down the biggest movie-theater events of his lifetime. From the emotional ending of Toy Story 3 and the Pokémon generation taking over theaters to the multigenerational nostalgia of Spider-Man: No Way Home. These weren't just movies, they were moments when going to the theater felt like being part of something bigger. In the Movie Review, Mike gives his thoughts on Jessica Chastain in Other Mommy. It’s about a young girl named Bela who is dealing with her parents’ marital problems when she starts seeing a creepy entity coming out of her closet. She calls it “Other Mommy,” but what starts as an imaginary friend quickly turns sinister and puts Bela and her whole family in danger. Mike shared why he was so excited to see this movie because of the trailer but why it unexpectedly let him down. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth" starring Brad Pitt. It’s about what Cliff Booth has been up to since thwarting the Manson Family in "Once Upon A Time...in Hollywood?" Brad Pitt returns as the Hollywood stuntman and Mike talks about why he is oddly underwhelmed by the trailer....

Verity Review

The Rescue Trailer Park

Mike and Kelsey return for the Best and Worst movies they watched in September. From Resident Evil to Primetime and more! They also get into questions about: What are the rules on taking someone’s assigned seat in a theater? And what do you do if someone is seated in the assigned seat you paid for? In the Movie Review, Mike gives his thoughts on Verity starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson. Lowen Ashleigh, hired to ghostwrite for Verity Crawford, uncovers what appears to be Verity's autobiographical notes. She wrestles with the confessions about Verity's husband and finds separating fiction from reality challenging. Mike shares his take on the story without having read the book. He also talks about why people are so upset online about the quality of Verity and Digger. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about The Rescue starring Brandon Sklenar. It’s about a former rodeo cowboy who takes matters into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped for ransom. Mike shares why he thinks Brandon could be the next Batman.

Full Aug Movie Recap

Insidious 6 Review

Clayface Trailer Park

Mike and Kelsey are back to recap all the movies they saw in August. They talk about getting to see a movie with Matthew McConaughey in attendance, nepo babies in film, and the trolls who have come after them after their thoughts on not liking a popular franchise.  They talk about Adam Sandler’s daughter in Don’t Stay Good Luck being a case where she only got the job because of her dad. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Insidious: Out of the Further. It’s about Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in, discovers she can travel into The Further, where she possesses an ability to bring what lives there back to the real world. Mike shares why Insidious has lost its way, the worst character in horror and why the movie didn’t get interesting until the last 30 mins.  In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about DC Studios ‘ Clayface”.  It’s a standalone Batman villain film. DC describes the film in a press release as one that “unravels one man’s horrifying descent from rising Hollywood star to revenge-filled monster.” Mikes gives his thoughts on DC’s start as the usher in a new era and why he thinks they need to step it up to compete with Marvel.

Crying on An Airplane

Rivals of Amziah King Review

Heart of the Beast
 Trailer

What makes the perfect movie to watch on a plane?  Mike and movie writer John Farrar each share their top picks on what movies make the perfect flight experience. From Michael to Avatar: Fire and Ash and more! In the Movie Review, Mike talks about The Rivals of Amziah King starring Matthew McConaughey. He plays a guy named Amziah King who is a beekeeper, musician, and anchor of his community, reunites with former foster daughter Kateri after many years apart, and fends off threats to his honey business. Mike talks about going to a screening with Matthew McConaughey where he performed songs from the film afterwards. Mike talks about the impromptu comedy set McConaughey delivered, his performance in the movie and how the film bends genres and packs an unexpected punch.  In The Trailer Park, Mike talks about Heart of the Beast starring Brad Pitt. After surviving a plane crash, a former special forces soldier finds himself trapped in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness with his combat dog. Mike talks about how Brad Pitt might be entering his older action hero era.
