It’s been a busy month already but it’s time to talk about Mike and Kelsey’s Best and Worst Movies for the month of September. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about the Wild Robot. Why it is one of his favorite animated movies of the year, the exceptional visuals, emotional moments and voice cast standouts. Mike also expresses why he loves that the movie didn’t stray away from teaching kids about death. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about  director Bong Joon Ho's "Mickey 17" is a sci-fi thriller that stars Robert Pattinson as an "expendable" employee named Mickey Barnes. It’s a follow up to his Best Picture winner ‘Parasite’ and Robert Pattinson as you’ve never seen him before.

They talk about the history of the movie through Mike’s number themed questions. Then Mike talks to director Juan Pablo Arias Munoz about his new movie  The Curse of the Necklace. They talk about being a Latino in the movie industry, movie to the US to pursue his dream and the beauty of horror. In the Movie Review, Mike gives his thoughts on Joker: Folie à Deux with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. How it compares to the original, why the musical numbers didn’t work, the wasted Batman character and why this movie was a slap int the face.  In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Red One starring the Rock and how he thought it was. Parody movie at first. It’s a Christmas-action-comedy about a villain who kidnaps Santa Claus from the North Pole.

They share how this movie has been 10 years in the making, working together as husband and wife, how the inspiration came from seeing an Amber Alert on the highway and why they hope this movie starts a conversation. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about The Substance starring Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid. He shares why it’s already one of his favorite movies of the year, Demi’s amazing performance, the bizarre visuals and how it raises the question of if you’d take a black market drug to create a better version of yourself. In the Trailer Park, Mike gives his thoughts on Thunderbolts and why it has one of the worst MCU posters to date and what he thinks is the reason for certain Marvel movies tanking.

He shares the stories that were most impacted on his life and represented what it was like for him growing up and struggles he had to face as a 1st generation American. It’s an animated origin story about how Optimus Prime and Megatron went from being best friends to mortal enemies.  It starts out before they were Transformers and before they were even known by those names. Mike talks about how Chris Hemsworth did as Optimus Prime, why Scarlett Johansson felt out of place, but how the movie's shift in tone made it feel like something special for both kids and adults.  In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about the new thriller Magpie starring Daisy Ridley. It’s about a married couple who see their lives "begin to fracture when their daughter is cast alongside a glamorous movie star. Mike talks about why Daisy Ridley is having an amazing year and gives his 3 movies of hers you should watch if you want to dive into her latest work.
