Well, it is time for our Scripture of the day. Grab your Bible, flip open number 622 to 27. It says, the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron and his son, saying, thus you shall bless the people of Israel. You shall say to them, the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them. Well, as we come to this Friday morning, the last day of the week, as we head into the weekend, I want to bring us to the word of Paul the Apostle. I know totally a curve ball here. We begin in numbers and we leap over to Paul. See, it's a reminder that we need not to be in distress of the unknown things that will come as we go into the weekend. Remember that regardless of what you're going to do, what you're going to face, or what may come. The Lord our God is with you. For some, this weekend might have some difficulty in it. For others, it's going to bring blessing. But in every situation, remain confident that the Lord your God is with you. Whatever lies ahead of you, go forward in confidence. Be firmly rooted in the root of the knowledge that it is the Lord who secures you with an unshakable trust and confidence that he is at our side when we are open to his presence. It is the desire of the Lord that we, his people, have peace. And in number six, the Lord spoke to Moses, and he tells him these words to speak over his brother Aaron in the tribe of Israel. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. This blessing is spoken over all of God's people and it is very unique. There's three parts to this blessing and these three parts. Remember what else is three parts? The Trinity, the Godhead. Recognizing that the Lord as the source of all blessing. The first blessing is general in nature, simply asking for God's blessing and his protection. The second asks that God will direct his face toward the one that this blessing is spoken over. In this case, it's the tribe of Israel. The face of God is in Christ Jesus. And the final blessing is of the Holy Spirit. Specifically, that the Lord's face would focus all attention on the one who worships him, and in his worship of the Lord receive the peace of God. We all have to remember in all circumstances that the Lord is for us. He is with us and he is in us. So do not be afraid, my friends. Whatever you must do, whatever comes your way, the Lord is with you. He is with you, and his favor is upon you.
