In 1927, the Moody radio antenna was a long wire strung between two towers, which iced up in the winter. Engineer A.P. Frye recalls "Quite frequently, we had to go out and shake the ice off the antenna to keep it on the air. " When shaking that antenna didn't work, they tried more creative techniques like "Using a shotgun or buckshot."
The solution was to build a 500 foot tower out in Addison, Illinois. That tower has seen everything.
A.P. Frye served Christ into the 1960s and to the glory of God. He's a name you should know.
